I LOVE this place! Not only is the food the best I've had on the East Coast, the staff are so kind, sweet and accommodating. My go-to dish is the Thai Basil with Chicken and it comes with rice. Ask for egg and they'll add for nominal charge. Grabbed Togo while working rideshare one night and hooked ever since. Took partner there, she loves all of it with tofu. Prices are reasonable, food fantastic, service is outstanding. Plus, upon resuming life, they have a great patio with cool lighting. Full 5 stars in my book! read more

Have taken out many times from crazy Thai and never been disappointed. The drunken noodles Thai hot or spicy but not truly Thai hot spicy... i've asked them to make them as spicy as possible and still they come up a little short. However overall the quality of the food is great. Staff can be a little offputting and rude. Kind of expect that in a urban college environment. read more

They had a great set up for pick up at the door and the food was amazing! My green curry with chicken was the perfect choice for a cool and rainy spring night. It was flavorful with a little kick! Normally I would order it spicy, but the last few times the spice was unbearable and I love spicy foods. Please be aware that a level 1 or 2 spice may not be what you expect. After watching this place get fixed up for almost a month, my boyfriend and I were SO excited to see them open today! We made it over to Crazy Thai for lunch this afternoon and were absolutely impressed. We shared an appetizer of the Thai Dumplings - really delicious standard dumplings with a nice sweet soy sauce. These came out hot and with the cutest plating! I ordered the Basil Fried Rice with chicken and my boyfriend got the Drunken Noodles with Beef - our respective Thai favorites. We were both impressed! The menu includes a spice-meter, and both of our chosen dishes lived up to their spice level. Totally satisfied our Thai cravings and I was left with some leftovers, perfect for my lunch tomorrow. The atmosphere of this place is great. It was a beautiful cleanup after how trashy and dirty Elephant Thai looked before it was closed down. The whole building was (seemingly) power washed, painted and cleaned. We can't wait for the outdoor seating area to be in use as well! Service was quick (though we were one of the only 2 filled tables at lunchtime) and the food came hot. My boyfriend and I are really excited about this place, we both love Thai and were waiting for a more inexpensive spot to open up around VCU's campus. read more

Really solid Thai food right in the heart of downtown Richmond. We ate the papaya salad, penang curry, and minced chicken basil stir fry. All three dishes were well-seasoned and delicious. Delivery through grubhub was quick and easy, and the restaurant threw in extra utensils and plates for us upon request. I dined in during lunch. It was not busy at all but the new place is clean. The waitress was attentive and we got our food in a timely manner. I got the drunken noodles with crispy chicken. So I got my food delivered so I don't know what the place looks like, but I've never had Thai food before and I wanted to try something new, so I was looking through the menu and most of the main items had pictures. So the description for the food that I got said "thick noodles" and there was no picture with the food description. So I'm thinking thick noodles, spaghetti type noodles but thicker! I get my food and the noodles are these big rectangles, and I was like oh ok let's give it a try before we judge.... the noodles we're overdone. I also got a side of sticky rice, and the portion size even though it was a side, was ridiculously small in my opinion. The pad Thai smells like Pet Smart. The soup is awful, pleased don't put tomatoes in soup, it isn't right. If I had to describe the broth, it's like some lemony tomatoey garbage water, maybe like dishwater? The tofu in the soup was fried? Just got a delivery order from here, and the food was great! The menu is pretty standard as far as Thai food goes, but there is one section with sandwiches which is where things get crazy. I got the chicken satay sandwich with peanut sauce and cucumber salad on the side. It was good! I would get it again. I also tried the pork fried rice which was a huge portion and enough for two meals. It tasted fine. The Thai dumplings with chicken and shrimp were delicious! The soy sauce was too sweet though. For dessert, the sticky rice is awesome. It is perfectly sweet, warm, and comes with a condensed milk topping. It was the best way to end the meal. I also got a sweet iced tea, and it was a fun alternative to the more common Thai iced tea, a beverage I find way too sweet. While it was awesome, it was little odd when paired with Thai food. I kept thinking I wanted barbeque food instead. Bottom line: The sandwich portion of the menu has interesting dishes, and I wish there were more of them! I'd had pad thai from probably every restaurant in Richmond, and this was in the bottom. It had a weird sweetness that I didn't love. Don't bother. Dining in is OK but not great food. The servers are really nice though and prompt. I guess being next to a college and relying on them for a steady flow of customers means you don't have to have any pride in cooking the food and so low quality is acceptable? I ordered delivery and my fried gyoza were not fried but instead microwaved. And when I got them, they were cold, dry, the edges were like stone and there were several with microwave burn. Disgusting and disappointing. And the rice paper shrimp rolls were slapped together loosely and the ends weren't even rolled in, instead they were left own and good was falling out. Again, highly disappointing. The sauce that came with the fried gyoza and Thai dumplings, which is the same, it smells and tastes like fermented soy and dish soap. Gross. Everything else I ordered was OK but nothing special and it was all cold or nearly cold. read more

Very nice environment, clean with new decor and furniture. The server we had was very nice and attentive, she brought out a spicy sauce and spice for me whenever I asked. Came here for lunch today and the experience was great. The place was pretty empty but only because most people were doing takeout which made sense due to the pandemic. All staff had on a mask which was awesome. They moved quickly and swiftly. The food came out quickly and hot and it was absolutely delicious. I haven't had good Thai in a while and this place did not disappoint. I appreciated all the safety measures they took to keep us and them safe as well (bringing the card payment machine to us and having us handle our cards. We ordered tom yum soup, pineapple fried rice with pork, and pad thai with chicken. Soup was great and pad thai was a bit too sweet but was good. However, Pineapple fried rice with pork came without pineapple. What is going on here??? It is like you got a cheeseburger without cheese :( And pork was replaced with chicken. The food here is really good for Thai. I usually get the fried rice with either steak or chicken, both are really good. Its a nice place if you want to go and sit down, but the delivery is even better when you can dine at home. As for the dining experience, prepare yourself, the ambiance of the interior is basic and the surrounding area a bit run down. They used paper plates and plastic utensils. I like this place so much more than Elephant! Everything that we ordered (pad thai, drunken noodles, thai tea, garden roll) tasted good and was really affordable. My only complaint would be that the music was kinda loud so it was a little difficult to hear myself or my friend, but it really wasn't that big of an issue. read more
