shrimp garden roll
Richmond A.

Another 5 stars bc dang!!!! the best! We got the drunken noodles with crispy chicken (game changer), and the panang curry with chicken. I love the curry sauce so much I poured it over my noodles and chicken and I think the neighbors might have heard me exclaiming about how good it was. The spice level is perfection (if you like spicy). Didn't have to add anything to it and my mouth was busting with the happy spice buzz. Of course ordered the spring rolls and shrimp rolls bc they're the best. I could eat here every day. Thank you, Crazy Thai, we love you!!

Orange cake

We've been to Crazy Thai twice recently before attending shows at the Altria Theatre. They have outstanding happy hour prices on drinks, and the house Chardonnay was quite good. Their food is outstanding. The spring rolls were good, but the fried gyoza were divine. I ordered the green curry with chicken and shrimp. The portion was generous and included 5 large perfectly cooked shrimp as well as a lot of thinly sliced chicken. The curry had a nice kick and the veggies were cooked yet still had a crunch. The orange cake is big enough to share, and although it's very simple, the orange jelly topping has a refreshing citrusy flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Red Curry with shrimp

I absolutely love Crazy Thai! They have great menu and the food is so flavorful. The Crazy wings are so good. The flavor is like a sweet and spicy, they're so good! The drunken noodles are really good! They are a little more spicy than I like, but overall good! I got pork added for my protein. The red curry is so delicious! I added shrimp and it was good. It's the right amount of spicy with a little creaminess. Definitely give this place a try

Beef pad Thai

I really wish Yelp gave the option for half stars because I'd give this place 3.5/5 stars. The inside seating is pretty bare but the outdoor patio has beautiful ambiance. I like that they serve water in a tumbler glass so it stays nice and cold. My fiancé and I ordered the beef pad Thai. We both felt the beef was a little chewy and maybe low quality meat. But the noodles, sauce and flavor were really good. I got a spice level of 3 out of 5. At first it didn't seem spicy enough so I asked for some dry pepper seasoning which added a great kick. We won't necessarily be rushing back but it's a solid neighborhood Thai spot. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Basil Fried Rice

Good standard Thai place! We didn't try anything "fusion" although I was intrigued by the burgers. Would go back again for sure. Pad thai- yum, sweet, really enjoyed the flavor Basil fried rice- good, spicy Pad See Ew- loved the noodles, cooked well, beef was good, probably our favorite in the group Spring Rolls- regular spring rolls

Absolutely delicious red curry with chicken. Generous portion. I can't wait to try some of the other menu options.

Took a little while but it was worth the wait!! Spring rolls were delicious and crust was light and fluffy. Red curry chicken was absolutely fantastic per my Wife. And I had the crispy pork delight . Pork was on point and crispy with a sauce that was perfect. Staff were very polite and speedy, the room had plenty of room and very accommodating. We will be back for sure when in Richmond.

We live in walking distance so tend to walk over. There is free street parking nearby if you do drive. It's also a great takeout spot. Their pad Thai is pretty good, but I like their pad see ew the best for noodles. When we've gone, we've eaten inside, but it seems like they have a beautiful patio in the back. The service can feel a little slow if you're in a rush. If you're doing takeout you go upstairs to grab your order. If you want to dine in, you go down to the left. On a recent trip, I tried their salmon curry and it was incredible. I highly recommend ordering this wholesome and delicious dish. This is a wonderful spot for Thai food.

Parking is available on the side, or you can usually find street parking nearby. I really liked the industrial atmosphere, especially the swings, but we ended up sitting closer to the bar area. Our server was super nice, and the service was quick throughout the meal. FOOD REVIEW Sabai Platter - 3/5 Not bad for shareable during happy hour, but some of the items were just okay. Pad Thai - 4/5 The flavors and spice level were balanced really well. Pla Muk Tod (Calamari) - 4/5 Good overall, but I wasn't a big fan of the dipping sauce. Pik Gai Tod (Wings) - 4/5 Flavorful and really good. Moo Sam Chan (Fried Pork Belly) - 4/5 Tasty and flavorful, though a little over-sauced for my preference. DRINK REVIEW Thai Tea - 5/5 Refreshing and enjoyable. Thai Mojito - 5/5 Really good and refreshing as well. Overall, good food, great drinks, and friendly service.

I had a decent experience overall--food, drinks, service, and ambiance were all fine. So why the 1…read morestar? Because of a serious issue with my bill. I noticed a discrepancy between the amount on my receipt and what was actually charged to my card. It may have only been a small difference, but that's not acceptable under any circumstance. A dollar here or there adds up, and it raises real concerns when it appears to be a pattern. I had intentionally left a cash tip to ensure it went directly to my server, not through the business. Fortunately, I kept my receipt after hearing about similar situations happening before. When my statement came in, the charge didn't match. I called the restaurant to resolve the issue, and the floor manager said someone from management or accounting would follow up. Over a week later, I never received a call. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank. What should have been a nice Friday night dinner ended on a frustrating note. Unfortunately, that's what made the experience memorable--and not in a good way.

The Thai food here SLAPS! The dining area is fairly small, maybe about 10-12 tables, can see it filling up pretty quickly. Our server was super friendly and attentive (forgot her name) and was so nice to our noisy toddler haha. Food came out at pretty good pace and app, entrees and food didn't all come out at the same time which was nice. You HAVE to get their Thai sausage appetizer - If they made this an entree, I would get it every single time. The sausage is perfectly balanced with lean and fat and packed full of Thai flavor and spices. For my entree I got the Thai fried rice with chicken and this portion is HUGE, was able to take some home and easily serve it as another meal. The fried rice was so tasty and fried chicken was perfectly fried and came with a nice sweet and sour sauce too. My wife loved the pad se ew and got to take home her food as well. If this place was closer to us, it would be not good for our wallets. If you want delicious and authentic Thai food, look no further than Yak Yai!

Chicken Bangcock never disappoints and the portion size for all their entrees is a value. Perhaps the finest item on the menu is the Chicken Pad Se Ew with flat noodles and Chinese broccoli. The first time I had it, Unicorns danced around my mouth and giggled. The dude behind the bar is a bad a$$ and makes all kind of dope drinks. I would like it if he wore a velvet cape and cowboy hat while he waits on customers. In fact, the management should consider mandatory cowboy hats for all staff members working dinner service. Ask the barkeep to pour you a triple shot of "tortilla" with a lime wedge and your life will be changed forever- all your wishes will come true and you will no doubt end up in a drunken stupor talking to the broken ATM machine that perpetually sits next to the bar.

My tech lead said this is her go-to Thai restaurant whenever she's in the area, and I was curious to try. The interior has no frills, which is fine with me. As long as the food is good, I don't really care. PAD SEE EW - 16.99 +chicken, wide noodles, and Chinese broccoli This is my go-to basic Thai order if I don't know what else to get. The pad see ew had a good "wok hay" flavor and the sauce was perfectly savory with a bit of sweetness. The wide noodles could have been a bit more chewy (felt like they were a bit overcooked). The entree lacked egg, Chinese, broccoli, and chicken as it was mostly noodles. I felt a bit ripped off. The portion sizes were large so most of us had leftovers for another meal. Personally, I would rather have more toppings other than carbs with a smaller portion. Overall, 3.5/5.
