So is the menu, which is fairly brief and basic. I ordered a combo plate, which was the standard Mexican restaurant combo plate with rice, beans, and a little salad. So far, so ordinary, but the food was just fantastically good, all of it, starting with the addictively tasty salsa which came with the chips (slightly stale, the only negative factor). Some of the best refried beans, in particular, that I've had. The combo I ordered had a beef taco and a tamale (which was chicken), both also really good. I was so impressed that I came back on my next drive through the area and had one of the several shrimp entrees. Not as spectacular as the combo, it was still really good. The shrimp was in a garlic-onion sauce which was full of well-cooked pieces of both. The shrimp were thoroughly cooked.

The carne asada was perfect, and was served over two tiny corn tortillas (which were also quickly charred on the grill) topped with onion, cilantro, and a slice of lemon. They didn't give me any salsa, but I also didn't ask for any, and honestly, the meat with fresh lemon juice stood on its own. I would absolutely come back here again, and if it continues to be this good, it could become a regular experience. The only drawback was some teenagers sitting in front of the taco truck were having a *very* loud and sexually explicit conversation, to the degree that they should have been asked to leave, but were not. One of the teens yelled at the top of his lungs from about a foot behind me, "I LOVE BIG BLACK ROCKS!" I had scrambled eggs with crispy potatoes and extra crispy bacon AND Biscuits and gravy on the side. Delicious! I am only 135 pounds so I always have leftovers! The people were super friendly that were having breakfast! They have indoor and outside seating and doggy friendly! They also had beer and wine and mimosas. You can watch the planes come and go on their shaded patio! Easy on and off the freeway! Ps. Love it's history about Doolittle using this strip as a training ground in 1942 against Japan..the old folks filled me in today!
