Food was good but the girls that work there are not nice at all, especially Angel! This was our first and last time coming due to the service after our friends recommended to eat here! Actually all the staff girls were not nice at all. We made it over 20 minutes for our food after we ordered when people who sat down after us got their food before us which made no sense and when asked about the food and look was given, and which was not appreciated at all. For sure one of my favorite spots. Not a secret one either by any means. Make sure you get in early to beat the breakfast rush on the weekends. The servers are great, food is fantastic (I loved their crab cakes Benedict. Its probably better than some that I've had in Maryland! 1000/10!!! I've tried many many breakfast spots on Long Island and quite honestly this is one of my top ten! I've been hearing about Crazy Beans for years and I finally got to try them out last week! First off, the restaurant itself is adorable! Old timey theme - feels like a cute diner. We sat up at the bar, but they also have booths and regular tables. If you go to Crazy Beans and don't get one of their coffees, you're missing out! So of course we started with that. We tried two of their specials from the week that we went - Never Been Kissed and Clueless! They were both so tasty! Tons of whip cream and the syrups were delicious. For food we ordered the cinnamon swirl french toast and the apple cinnamon pancakes - YUM. The batter was absolutely delicious and both meals were huge! We had leftovers for the next day. Yesterday the shrimp Po boy and coconut shrimp wrap were disappointing. But in the fall i got a chicken salad wrap that was amazing. Their kids chicken fingers and fries are always a good choice for the kiddos. We went in the fall and then again yesterday. Both were okay. We love their Americans traditional dinner style decoration and the tiny mall it is located. Their host was not friendly at all. We were seated by the restroom and we requested to have another table available but it needed to be cleaned up at that time. The host didn't take and just ignored our request. Their waiters were welcoming and served quickly. Their food was decent with affordable price. We had the cookie dough pancake and farmers market omelette as our entree, Mac and cheese with bacon and fried avocado as sides. The cookie dough pancake was delicious but more like chocolate chip flavored but cookie dough. Their portion of omelette was more than enough and full of varied ingredients but eggs were overcooked and dry. Sides were much better than entree, Mac and cheese were surprisingly creamy and chewy. Fried avocado with cajun sauce was the best. Overall, we would stop by if we are around by but definitely not come for here. read more

The maitre- d' must call others on a list to their cell phones, others who are in nearby stores shopping around. Solid breakfast spot. We stopped by for a quick bite and our daily dose of caffeine. The ambiance is diner-esque with Americana realia with cozy touches like different salt and pepper shakers for each table and funny oversized coffee mugs. I loved perusing through all of the latte flavors and settled on the classic iced caramel latte. The hubby got a hot coffee which he said was smooth and just the right temp. He ordered the pancake quesadilla and loved every bite. I asked for two eggs over medium with swiss cheese and crispy bacon in a gluten free wrap. The wrap was so soft and didn't break apart while I ate it, that was a first for me! I just wish the eggs were slightly less runny. Also, take note that you can pay with a credit card, you just have to leave a cash tip. We didn't know that and had to use the atm inside which was a bit of a pain. Most places nowadays let you add it while using the swipe card service. It seems a bit outdated. read more

This is a cozy and snug spot for brunch. The food was decent but nothing mind blowing. Good mac and cheese and blended lattes. The only complaint I have is one of the girls who served us. Firstly, the BLT with avocado that my boyfriend ordered was missing avocado as well as the pickle on the side. As any customer would when they are served food misrepresentative of their description, he politely notified one of the servers about it: "Hi there, I don't think I got the pickle with my sandwich." The girl merely responded with "that's crazy" nonchalantly and in the most sarcastic tone, then walked away. A few minutes later when she came back, she just dropped it off on our table without saying anything and walked off. My boyfriend and I are very courteous customers, and usually avoid troubling workers as much as possible. Not only did she not apologize to us as most servers would, she was extremely rude and dismissive toward us. Nothing we did or said warranted that kind of behavior from her. I've been here a few times with my friends and think this is a nice addition to Stony Brook Village. It gives off the small town vibe which I love and looks appealing from the inside and outside. Their decor and artwork is really cute as well. Their wait times generally are not too long. I've wait max 20 minutes during their busy times. They give you these cool electronic lobsters wait indicators so you can browse the outside environment. I usually get eggs or pancakes there. My girlfriend really enjoys their Lattes and tries almost a new one every time we go. One issue I do not like is that they don't offer any milk shakes. They craft beautiful lattes but don't carry that over to anything creamier and richer. Overall the food is good and the price is alright. read more

Pre-COVID it was usually 20-30 minutes. We went once this summer when they had limited capacity and the wait was an hour. So just be prepared if your are hungry. It's well worth it though. Cute little location in the town of Stony Brook. I went here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday afternoon about 12 PM and they had a full house! They give you a buzzer so you don't need to wait inside (not much room to wait anyway) so we waited at the courtyard just outdoors, which is beautiful with a fountain and tables with umbrellas. Beautiful place to sit in the shade on a hot summer day. We waited about 15-20 minutes for a seat and were lucky enough to get one of the booths next to the windows. Menu + service: Large menu, easy to read. I thought it was nice that it has the history of the restaurant inside it. I didn't get to read it... unfortunately, but this was because the waitress had come very promptly to take our order! That being said, the service was good. As busy as they are, they keep the flow going and are available to your needs. Drink: Hazelnut latte. Very wide variety of drinks, you are surely to find something that you'll love. Much recommended to try their drinks, and I must say, they are very pretty. Ours were decorated with colored syrups that ran down the outside of the cup (photo). This touch was definitely nice for the aesthetic. Very pretty, but could be a little messy... nothing wrong with it though, since the mason jar cups have handles! I only ordered one flavor, but you can add up to three flavors in your latte (or order from their specials) Food: CORNED BEEF OLD FASHIONED with multigrain bread. I loved the bread, so many grains on the crust but not overwhelming. Absolutely amazing!! Corned beef was also delicious. Overall, great experience. I've had this place bookmarked for a while after hearing about it at a Yelp event. As we waited in IHOP Jay O. mentioned that "breakfast place" after looking through my bookmarks I said it's called Crazy Beans so we decided to head over. It's located in a small quaint village. Upon entering of course jammed pack. We were given a buzzer for when our table would be ready and were told it covers the whole village area in case you decide to check out other stores. We were seated in about 15 minutes not too bad. I ordered a caramel iced latte. It was okay nothing special. Jay O. Ordered black coffee he thought it was a bit too strong. Now onto the food! I ordered their grilled chicken pesto wrap with a roasted red pepper spread, cheese, lettuce and ranch sauce. It tasted very fresh and was good but honestly nothing special or anything to rave about. It was pretty pricey for a wrap no fries just one pickle on the side. I will say at least the quality of the food was fresh. So I don't mind paying a bit more for good fresh ingredients. I ended up ordering a side of their home fries which were tasty. Jay O. ordered corned beef hash with two eggs. He thought it was a bit dry but overall good. I sampled his dish and agreed. Good but just a little dry. Breakfast spots: Crazy Beans, Munday's and Maureen's Kitchen: The winner for me is Maureen's amazing food, great prices and plenty of food. It's not that I didn't like Crazy Beans considering how busy they were we had great service which is always a big plus for me. Had a great time at Crazy Beans. My kids asked if they only sold beans and I can assure you, they are more than beans. I took no pictures, but I loved the Bloody Mary and everyone else enjoyed their coffees. Sometimes places with flavored coffee have terrible coffee, but we were all please. I got the cheesy sausage covered biscuit and was very pleased. They said I could choose which cheesy sauce I wanted it smothered in, but I went with the pepper jack suggestion and I'm glad I did. My husband and son got steak and eggs plain and loved it. My older daughter said the pancakes with cookie dough tasted burnt, but there was so much food, no one starved. We also got chicken and waffles and everyone loved the chicken. The service was the best. It was pleasant and quick. We went at noon and we were seated really quick. Much more to explore! Food was not good had avocado toast barely any avocado on a piece of bread that was not even toasted. I really couldn't believe how little avocado they put on it it was not tasty at all. Also when I went to the bathroom it was filthy and disgusting. I hadn't been there for at least 5 years and very disappointed. The chairs were all sticky and dirty. They really need to freshen up and clean up. You pay $17 for a piece of toast with avocado on it there's barely any avocado on it very disappointed. Will not be visiting again. Their pancakes are light, fluffy and you can taste the homemade love in them! The loaded home fries were everything you could want for breakfast! The place is small so expect a wait - they'll give you a buzzer that works around the little town there so you don't have to wait inside the crowded restaurant. Really really really liked crazy beans for brunch! The cannoli french toast and crab cake eggs Benedict were both delicious! I had the Hawaiian Coconut coffee but really it just tasted like any other coffee. There were partitions between tables for covid precautions and a sanitizing station up front. I've been going to the original Crazy Beans in Miller Place for a few years now but only recently tried this newer location. I had a feeling the food and coffee would be great if it was anything like the MP location, and sure enough my premonition was right! :) The food and coffee were delicious, and the larger retro dining area is just perfect to stop for a bite when checking out the shops nearby.
