The servers are attentive and friendly, and they make sure that your water glass is filled. The garlic butter chicken wings are simply spectacular! The chicken wings are ginormous, the batter is light and crispy and the garlic butter sauce pairs so well with chicken. The salt and pepper squid was piping hot and the batter was also light and airy, and the calamari was cooked perfectly. The beef was pricey but absolutely worth it! The waiter asked how we wanted the cook on the beef, and the beef was a perfect medium rare. The meat was so tender and flavorful with an excellent char and the sauce was so flavorful. I really appreciate the abundance of vegetables that come with each dish and the portion sizes are quite generous. My diagnosis: come here for perfectly executed Vietnamese staples!

The food can be a bit pricey ($35 for bo luc lac, for example) but flavors are great overall and the service is also really good! It's not super high end in terms of decor but certainly well above average and pretty nice compared to the standard Vietnamese restaurant. (For example, yes to white table cloths, but they are layers of plastic.) My quick rapid fire recommendations: 1. Chicken wings - they are absolutely ginormous, amazing flavor, and totally worth the price though they seem expensive on the surface. 2. Fried calamari salt and pepper - delicious! I can't quite describe it ... a hint of funnel cake batter flavor? There's something quite special about this one and it's quite tasty. 3. Shaking beef (bo luc lac) - amazing! Ask for the beef to be medium rare as opposed to medium. Dip those beef chunks into the lime dipping sauce and oh my... you're in heaven. The service is also top notch and not your standard Asian restaurant level. Located off West Little York, close to 290 - it's a hidden gem in Northwest Houston not too far from the city. The space is bigger than you would expect so it's also great for large parties if you can reserve the space. Enjoy!

If you ever buy sushi from HEB, you know that it's usually pretty hardened by the time you eat it. This is a completely different experience. It tastes like it was made 5 minutes ago. It wasn't like home, but it was good. The rice and noodles lacked the flavor I was looking for, but the crab raccoon was very good. I'm not sure if I would go back or not because there are so many restaurants like it that do a better job with the flavor of the rice and noodles. The employee let me sample their different chicken options so I could taste the difference, since the menu didn't really explain much when I looked ahead of time. The K'Pop Chicken (cute pun) is a popcorn chicken version of Korean fried chicken with a sticky glaze that has a bit of a kick to it, while the Soy Glazed Chicken is (what I think is) their grilled option, which tastes exactly as it sounds. I definitely recommend the K'Pop chicken, but both were tasty. Ingredient options are fun but REALLY fusion-y... obviously, don't come here expecting any type of authentic experience. But I did love that the options for the base include japchae, since I don't have the opportunity to order this on this side of town. They have a fair drinks selection but I wish they could add a Korean-inspired option like sikhye if they really want to keep the theme cohesive. I don't foresee myself coming often since it's on the pricier side, but due to the convenience and variety, I will definitely be back again for future work lunches. - Ambiance: 4/5 - Food: 4/5 - Service: 5/5

Cheese oysters - 4/5- I liked them but I could have done without the fish eggs on top. I usually don't mind fish eggs but don't love the pairing. Grilled scallion oysters - 5/5 - these were my fav and made just right. Add a dash of lemon juice and sriracha - CHEFS KISS!! Lemongrass & Kumquat Crawfish - 3.5/5 - I ordered two pounds just to try and it took awhile for the flavor to grow on me. At first I didn't feel it was spicy enough considering I ordered extra spicy but eventually I did taste a bit of heat. Curly fries - 5/5 - can't really go wrong with fries unless they're just plain old mushy lol Strawberry Margarita - 5/5 - my boyfriend liked it but it was very strong.
