I wish I'd had a better experience here. Ate here several times when it was a owned by someone else in the past years. I thought/hoped it would be just as good as it used to be. I had breakfast here twice this season and probably won't be back next year. The first time I had biscuits and gravy & an egg and fruit. Egg was good. Fruit was ridiculously over priced for the 1 sliced strawberry & 4 grapes and some flavorless orange slices. The biscuits and gravy were awful. Now.....this is one of my all time favorite comfort foods, so I know my biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were awful.......made without any butter or shortening. I know, because I've made them a time or two like this myself and they are bland and tasteless. I didn't think it was possible, but the gravy was also bland and tasteless. It had some spicy seasoning in it like some sort of cajun seasoning and that was the only flavor, period. It might sound contradictory to say it was spicy, yet bland, but somehow they managed it. Just imagine a gravy with zero taste (despite the sausage) but all you taste at the end is a little cajun twang. The second time I ate here I took some combo breakfast home that included eggs, bacon hashbrowns and pancakes. The eggs and bacon were fine. (Although the bacon is not as good as previously when it was the old establishment.) The hashbrowns were not completely cooked. Not only were they not in any way crispy, but they were cold and I had several bites with some raw potato crunch before I decided to heat up the skillet and finish cooking them myself. The pancakes were just ok....nothing better than IHOP......but the syrup that came with them was........horrible. It tasted like sugar water.....no mapley or buttery or any other flavor. Now I'm hard pressed to figure out what in the world they are using for syrup since I can't remember in the rest of my life ever meeting a syrup that was so bad I just couldn't eat. I got my own syrup out of the cupboard. The hashbrowns ended up really good after I finished cooking them. But if I had wanted to cook my own breakfast I would have picked up some stuff at the grocery store instead. read more

Ate here recently and enjoyed my breakfast. Biggest problem was lack of staff on a busy day which is normal here. Too long of a wait just getting seated, coffee refills and food order. Not due to staff of 3 not hustling, just needed a 4th person as this would get things done quicker and actually benefit both customer and owner as they would get people in and out quicker and handle more customers overall. But quality is good, staff friendly and would like two pieces of toast with breakfast. read more

I'm never disappointed when I eat here. Heath is just an amazing chef. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and his recipes are always surprisingly good...and by that I mean that when you take a bite you exclaim "wow, this is the best XXXXX I've ever had". He takes simple cafe fare and makes it sublime. read more

We were here for two days and ate here several times - I wish I could take this place home with me! Best breakfast side potatoes I've ever had in my life, and the boyfriend said the flavored lattes was the best coffee he had ever had. What a find! Coming out of the park at the end of the day and, BEHOLD, meatballs & sauce covered in shaved cheese, coupled garlic bread! That plus a double capp will keep you going. We stopped here for late breakfast on a camping trip. I had the So Cal omelette which is perfectly portioned, extremely tasty, and very reasonably priced. The fruit "side" was full of fresh berries and sliced apples; a long way from a typical slice-of-old-cantaloupe fruit side! Others had the bacon and egg croissant which was also excellent. Excellent food, excellent service. If you are in the Chester area stop by this restaurant for breakfast or lunch. The breakfast burritos are huge and everyone in our party that ordered them raved about the flavor. I had the bacon chicken club with the cole slaw side. Heavenly! Large sandwich grilled to perfection. Cole slaw very very tasty. This morning I had the half portion of the biscuits and gravy. Still a very nice sized portion and very tasty. It is a very small place but with the friendly service and good food it is well worth the visit. Prices are very fair. Will definitely visit again if in the area. read more

Have eaten here three times now, always breakfast. The food is always good, and the service is friendly. The menu is small, which is great in my opinion, and they still have something for everyone. The other place that was here before had such terrible bland food-nice to have new owners! The only drawback, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the size of the building. It is tiny, and you are very cramped in there. However, I really like these people, their food and their staff. I wish them all the luck in the world. Glad to have you in town! read more

Food and drinks are perfectly fine. The only drawback was the somewhat odd service. The chef/owner (?) seems more like a businessman than a true host. We were rushed through our lunch and right after we ordered coffee once we were done eating we were told that we needed to vacate our table if new clients arrived. For a lunch cheque of well above 40 dollars for two I would expect some more hospitality. read more

Decided to try again at this place today. First time we just stopped in for a coffee before hitting the road. I have never had a worse coffee in my life, it tasted like an entire bottle of vanilla syrup was poured into a cup and topped off with milk. Today we called in an order of biscuits and gravy. We were told it would be a half hour wait, which was okay since they are usually busy on the weekends. I will never ever waste $10.70 on two stale biscuits that I had to chew and chew until I finally spit them out. Disgusting. The gravy had a clam chowder taste and paired with stale biscuits, it was definitely the worst meal I have ever had. Only positive was the girl who helped us was very friendly and sweet. Unfortunately though we will not be returning due to these circumstances. read more

I don't like to review locally but I will make an exception for this place. This was my first time to Cravings for an actual meal (not just a coffee pit stop). The menu looked so good that my boyfriend and I had to order two items and split them because we couldn't choose just one (& we don't like share). We ordered a couple coffees, the breakfast burrito with BACON (obviously) and the biscuits and gravy. They were both probably the best I've ever had (I hope the Old Mill doesn't read this ). The breakfast burrito was absolutely delicious. It was cooked perfectly and didn't fall to pieces like the usual. It had a ton of flavor unlike the common bland burrito. We were both very pleased. The gravy on the biscuits was riiiiiiidiculous. By far the most flavorful gravy that I've ever tasted. The biscuits were even cooked packed with flavor, perfect texture and moisture..AND they were topped with pieces of bacon so that automatically adds 10 points. We cleaned our plates completely. The perfect post workout treat. The server was very sweet and helpful...a nice change from our recent restaurant outings. The food was prepared quickly to top it off. I definitely recommend Cravings over any other breakfast joint this town has to offer! Great food, great service! read more
