We have tried several pies and some were amazing and some were just ok. We got the strawberry and blueberry cream pies thinking they would have cream cheese or more fruit in them but they were basically just all a vanilla pudding/Boston cream filling type. No mask required signage, but the employees wear them. I don't have any judgment on that. The lady was sweet on Saturday evening and even offered a knife and fork if we wanted to eat right then. The special butter blueberry pie was fantastic. Even after reheated the crust was crispy. Thats amazing after refrigeration and zapping in the microwave(w/o the metal pan of course). 4 stars because Google said they were closed, and the associate was helpful but maybe just having a long day and it showed a bit. No judgment, really! I hope she had a relaxing evening. It looked like there may have been a festival. The tables outside the store with pimento cheese samples were a bit bombarding. We ordered a Cranberry Apple Pie for Thanksgiving and the pie was delicious. The lady at the counter was nice and exceptional service especially during the holiday rush. These little pies are truly the little wonders in life! It took me way too long to finally stop in to try these pies. Honestly, the storefront and interior atmosphere is unremarkable and uninteresting. But please don't judge from the outside because you will deprive your taste buds of some amazing flavors and high quality ingredients blends. Why spend more money, more time, and unnecessary cleanup making homemade pies when it's so much more fun and tastier to buy a crave pie. We found this place while strolling around during the Duluth Fall Festival. It is a cute little shop in downtown Duluth. My husband and I got the Chocolate Chess and Dutch Apple to share. They were a bit steep at $6 each. But they were perfect for eating and walking around at the same time. The Chocolate Chess pie was amazing. It was moist and rich. The crust was perfectly crispy. The Dutch Apple pie was good but it doesn't beat the Dutch Apple pie from Publix. The crumble on top was a bit soggy but the crust was also perfect. Visited this place yesterday with my family after hearing raves about this place. It's located right in the middle of Downtown Duluth. It's a great location and is super cute on the outside. I came on a Saturday and was surprised to find this place dead quiet and empty. The woman who worked there was very kind in explaining all of the pies they had available that day. They have a ton of pies to offer and many that you can get for custom order. We ended up ordering several the 5" pies they had. We ordered a Maple Pecan, Chocolate Chess Pie, Berry Lemon Crumble Pie, and and Bacon & Egg Quiche. The Maple Pecan was okay. Maybe a little too sweet for my taste. I'm not a chocolate lover, so the chocolate chess pie wasn't my fave but my family enjoyed it. I picked out the Berry Lemon Crumble Pie and was so happy with it! It was delicious. The Quiche was very good as well. We also ordered some Cappuccinos and they were just okay. I'm glad I got to come and try their pies out. Headed to a friend's house for a low-key meal and decided to pick up a savory treat from this neighborhood gem. Limited selection on July 5th due to the holiday weekend, but I walked away excited to try the bacon cheddar quiche, which is perfect for two. The quiche was satisfyingly moist, fluffy and flavorful. The pie shop is super cute, so I stopped in this morning. I had the mini chocolate chess pie and mini sweet potato praline pie. I did think the pies were overpriced for the quality. The chocolate chess pie had a rich chocolate flavor that needed to be cut with creme or sugar, and the crust, while flaky, did not taste of salt or sugar. It was browned on the bottom, but it had more of a dark chocolate brownie feel. The praline sweet potato tasted like overspiced pumpkin pie - I did not taste any sweet potato and got more of a juniper taste of allspice. My honey and I decided to drop by here after lunch in downtown Duluth. It's a cool little spot right on Main Street near Duluth town hall. This was, I believe, our 4th stop here in the past year. My dad lives around the corner and they drop by every now and then to pickup pies during holiday season. I've even had pies from here for my birthday. Cost is typically around $7-$8 per pie, so it's not cheap and main reason for the bump on the star rating. It's a very unique place, as they mainly serve small pies, big enough for about 8 bites (if you're me). They'll have a flavor of the day or seasonal pies, along with many pies that are their staple (love their chocolate chess and peanut butter cream). Service is always pleasant too. This stop, we did the bourbon pecan and lemon chess. The lemon chess was a little too much lemon for me (was hoping for more a chess square taste, could have used powdered sugar) but the bourbon pecan was SPOT ON! Oh wow, you can easily taste a hint of bourbon in it ... They must have used top shelf. It was creamy and flavorful, enough to ease my sweet tooth. We will continue to come here, and highly suggest it for a quick dessert stop. It's for sure a must try for the sweet tooth craving. read more

Ohhhhh so good. This place is darling and so is the little area where it's located. The selection of pies was limited on our visit as we got there half hour before closing time. Still, they had quite a few to choose from. We chose the peanut butter jelly pie and the chocolate chess. Both incredible, but highly rich. This is an adorable spot on the quaint Main St. of Duluth. Luckily, downtown Duluth has free parking and it is easy to get to this cute little pie shop. In addition to sweet pies, they offer savory pies such as quiches. I am much more of a savory person than a sweets person. The bacon and jalapeno quiche was awesome. They appear tiny and cost $6.50, but they are very filling and one mini pie easily feeds 2 for breakfast. I will try their sweet pies on my next visit. read more

Pies are pretty pricy here. Service every time I've come here have been less to be desired. The employees could really work on their customer service skills. Every time I've visited this pie shop I feel unwelcome and the employees look very unhappy and aloof. I did enjoy the quiches but the pies have been hit or miss. Last time I purchased a large number of mini pies for a baby shower that a friend and I were hosting and they didn't give me the usual individual boxes that they come in. They placed each pie in a thin clear plastic sleeve (basically like a sandwich bag with a light adhesive). On top of that I was charged for packaging. What packaging? Packaging that consisted of small thin plastic ziplock like bags? Come on... I was very disappointed that after spending so much money in one order they would have the audacity to charge extra for packaging and they didn't even put it into the single boxes I've gotten when I've ordered a couple of pies from there before. It did not make any sense. So let me get this straight... if I purchase a few mini pies they will put them in the normal individual pie white boxes but if I spend way more money and get many more small pies they get stingy and use the plastic ziplock bags instead? Even after pointing out that the mini pie packaging is different they still only gave me the clear plastic bags. They said I had to pay extra for the other boxes. Wait... so pay extra for the single boxes that usually come free all the other times when purchasing mini pies when asked to be individually boxed?? Wow... Due to the lack of care and presentation in packaging I had to wrap each mini pie over the plastic bagged mini pies before giving them away as party favors. Then there were some pies that leaked for some reason through the plastic bags that were packaged by the employee. Huge disappointment. Crave Pie Shop clearly showed me that they do not care about their customers. Disappointing. Due to the limited pie shops in Atlanta I've settled for this place but after discovering Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Sandy Springs off of Roswell Rd, I now give my business to a pie speciality shop that cares about their customers and their homemade products. read more

I've been out of control when it comes to the sweets while pregnant and my most recent NEED was pie. I'd had Crave Pie Studio bookmarked here for a long time, but last Friday I finally made time to visit. When you walk in the door it smells like butter. What in the world could be better than that?! I wanted to sit there and enjoy the smell all day. But instead I chose three mini pies - chocolate chess, maple pecan and banana coconut. And then I hid them in a bag so I could get them back into my office without anyone trying to nab some of my pie. I did, however, decide to share with my husband, but I fully considered hiding them from him, too. I was having a good day, I guess. The banana coconut was amazing. Love the big pieces of banana, the creamy filling, the toasted coconut on top. And that crust? To die for. Probably one of the best pie crusts I've ever had. This as my first time having chocolate chess pie and it definitely won't be my last. Holy crap that shit was good! The maple pecan was good, too, but the other two were the standouts for me. I have a feeling I will be sending my husband on pie runs over the next few months. We can't wait to try more flavors. read more

With two visits to the Crave Pie Studio under my belt (get it?), I feel qualified to lay out the review. Located in the small revitalized old town of Duluth, it is in the perfect spot for visitors wandering around the town or for folks just passing through. Inside, the shop is small but airy and bright, with a wide variety of their "mini" pies displayed in cases. The owner and her employees are more than willing to help you make your selection, and they can name each pie and it's culinary attributes without pause. I have had the privilege of trying a chicken pot pie (OFF THA' CHAIN), Dutch Apple, Chocolate Chess, and a veggie/bacon quiche. Each one of their offerings have been well made and bursting with flavors, so they definitely rack up five stars for the food. It's worth mentioning that they have spectacular coffee that is roasted by a local roaster, so make sure to have a cup of their whole bean brew along with your pie. THE THRILL IS GONE! Although I have eaten pie from Crave on several occasions, I have only purchased the pecan pie and quiche because they are my favorite and seem to be the most consistent. My husband has sampled other pies, (so have I), and have not liked any of them, apple, lemon blueberry and lavender. The apple pie that he purchased was purchased without my input so it was not a good choice. Just at a glance, it looked shallow, dry and just not what a succulent apple pie should look like. As predicted, this pie was dry, had few apples and just did not measure up. There was no way I was going to sample a pie with lavender because lavender belongs in soap and fragrances, not food, as far as I am concerned. My husband sampled this one and forever regretted it. He just could not get the horrid taste out of his mouth and still cringes at the thought. The lemon-blueberry pie just lacked substance. It did not have a significant taste of lemon or blueberry and had a very loose filling that was very one-note: overly sweet. We dumped the filling and just ate the crust. Crave could definitely benefit by offering more samples because when customers find something that they like they will order more, but when they are continually "stung" by bad pies, they may discontinue purchasing all together. I am wondering why I have never actually seen a peach pie because this is the one pie that I would expect to see on a regular basis since we live in the "peach" state and have had beautiful peaches available this summer. I just think that the peach pie should be stocked at all times during the summer months as I'm sure that it would be a crowd-pleaser. Let me just remind you of the proper way to eat one of these substantial pies, the pie must be solid, (not custard or fruit based). I am an authority on the pecan pie so let's just pretend that you have ordered one as well. First, you must have them warm your pie, (this could take 10 min. but is worth the wait). Slice it down the middle, pop out a half, and just eat it. Don't bother to use utensils because you just don't want to try and eat a hearty pecan pie with a plastic fork. Proceed with the other side, no sharing or you will regret it! Daddy (spouse), always has to get this own! Finally, I think that I am over paying $6 for a single serve pie when I can easily make a full size pie for less. When I consider the pies that have been fails, it is really not worth continuing to "toss the dice" in hopes of coming up with a winner. However, you can never go wrong with that perfectly executed quiche, so I will definitely stick with that for now. When it comes to my beloved pecan pie, I will just have to get back in that kitchen! read more

I've been in downtown Duluth a lot recently. During one of my recent trips, I stopped into this pie store I noticed on Uber Eats called Crave Pie. I talked with who I assume is the owner about the place. She said they'd been there for about 4.5 years and usually offer a variety of 5" pies daily. They have two types of pecan pie - maple and bourbon chocolate. Crave Pie also custom makes 3" and 10" pies and they have a variety of flavors to choose from. I noticed (afterward) on Uber Eats that you can order those custom pies through the app. Very convenient. They just need 24 hours in advance and you can go home with a jalapeno cherry pie with bacon streusel or any other pie flavor you prefer. If you're in the area, I suggest stopping by if not for anything but to take in the wonderful aroma of cinnamon and butter when you walk in. read more

So I had 13 people fly in from California that wanted a dinner. I didn't have enough time to cook some pies, so I checked this place out in Duluth that specializes in pies. I ordered 2 Dutch Apple pies to be made the next day. I received confirmation and was told the pies would be ready for me at the time I requested. When I went to go get them the owner was there and she was so polite and nice. I had my personal chef jacket on and we started talking and she is such a kind hearted person. The Apple pies looked so good! I also ordered a sausage and kale quiche for myself to eat. When I got home I devoured that quiche. It was so good. The Apple pies were delicious! These pies are to die for! Not only are they absolutely delicious but I love how they are a smaller portion. I'm not a huge pie fan so it being a smaller size is perfect. The gals working here are so sweet and helpful. I bought my pie as I was waiting for a table at O4W Pizza and one of the girls mentioned that it shouldn't be out of the fridge for longer than 30 min. After I let her know we were waiting to eat dinner she offered to hold it there and we could grab it after dinner. Amazing pies and coffee! I am a dessert snob and I still love this place. My family all bakes and we take great pride in our pies and cakes. But I have to say this is one of the only places in Atlanta I would recommend to someone looking for a fresh and home baked pie. We came here around 7:30pm on a Saturday between dinner and live music across the street. They only had three pie options left for the evening so I ordered the $6 apple pear pie. It was very fresh and the crumble on top was rich but not too sweet. This is a very small venue and they only have about four tables so it appears many people must get their pies to go. We sat in and enjoyed the pie and coffee. Our friends quickly ate every bite of their German chocolate pie. We will be back very soon! read more
