I've been recommended to try this place more than a few times, but we were reluctant to pay what we call "the Frankfort tax". We started our dinner with their new egg roll appetizer and a couple of drinks. I had a Japanese-style old fashioned with Japanese whiskey (of which I've never tried) and it was good! Not overdone with the syrup/sugar, and the whiskey was smooth. The eggrolls! WOW the eggrolls. They were fried fresh in clean oil and so so good. They nailed it with the menu addition. I can't exactly remember which sushi rolls we got, but we for sure went all out. Of the 3 I ordered for myself, the spicy salmon roll stood out the most. Unlike other sushi joints, the salmon in this roll was cut into bigger pieces with less sauce -- it was more about the FISH and it stood out. It was very fresh and not fishy at all. Bar none the best salmon roll I've ever had. The decorations were great and unique. I loved the cherry blossom trees and the wall of figurines! The service was great as well, our server was attentive while the busboys were quick to clean our table. We even received a free dessert for our milestone! They also had someone walking around with accompaniments for our water. The only thing I can really nitpick in this department is the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, yet they sat another couple directly next to us. The restaurant is very close quarters. All in all, this is just about the best sushi experience I've ever had. It was well worth the price and I really don't have any complaints. It was a perfect choice to celebrate 3 years together!

The restaurant is located in what appeared to be a very safe and affluent area, with plenty of parking available and a nice park nearby that's perfect for a walk after dinner. The prices are definitely on the higher end, but the food was excellent. We especially loved the tuna roll and eel roll. Both tasted incredibly fresh; honestly, it felt like the chef had just caught the fish moments before preparing it. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. One minor complaint was the water. It was served without ice and tasted somewhat bland. I'm not sure if it was heavily filtered or just sitting at room temperature, but it was lukewarm and not particularly refreshing. Our waitress was fantastic: very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the meal. The only service issue we encountered was that the busser cleared one of our plates before we had completely finished eating, which made us feel a little rushed. Overall, it was a great dining experience with outstanding food, excellent service, and a sophisticated atmosphere. While the prices are high, the quality of the sushi makes it well worth considering for a special occasion.

I ordered a banana chocolate shake and she wanted the same but the employee helping her said they did not have any bananas. I was confused because I already had my shake served but didn't yet try it. Apparently, they ran out of bananas earlier that evening and the girl who made my shake just used a flavored syrup instead. Nonetheless, it was tasty so I was ok with the substitution. I think my mom would ended up with a strawberry milkshake. Didn't get to try it but it was pretty and she enjoyed it. This is a cute shop both inside and out and they have a great menu. I'm usually blown away by my trips to oberweis, and look forward to stopping in if I'm near one,…read morebut was disappointed this trip. Complications with the ordering of a "customized" banana royale, which I've been ordering for over 20 years... the new system wanted to charge me for substituting ice creams and toppings, but the manager stepped in when I questioned. While the right flavors made it into my dish, the whipped cream was flat, and peanuts were incorrectly substituted for pecans...both undesirable. The ice cream was also very soft, and you can see from the picture was a mess that never should have made it to my table. Once I got into it I discovered the banana was severely over ripe and mushy. Hopefully this is a one off issue with staff needing training, but concerning as I've been so impressed previously with any location.
