Big disappointment! They recently moved across the street to a smaller space and now really just cater to selling larger pieces and projects to clients with bigger budgets. It's no longer that fun place where you could walk in to browse the kitchen gadgets, frames, or smaller cute things. I guess that goes to show the economy but all in all gave me no reason to even browse. With the new space I was approached by overzealous sale reps, women in their 40-50s trying to sell me the concept. Then explaining I need to shop online or order at the store. But then better ship it to the store to avoid the shipping rate. I honestly came in here trying to avoid shopping on amazon for a tiny whisk / peeler. Lol now I'm just going to place my order with zero cost to shipping for the next day.. crazy And no one could answer me weather or not the new store will have Christmas ornaments or any fun decor items that size. Prolly have a giant tree with a giant bow and oversized everything. Feel pretty corporate and not for the common person / people. read more

This is the first time in my life that I have to written a negative review. I did not expect it to be a furniture brand I like very much. Don't believe what in store sales tell you. And even the store manager, she is not helping to solve problem but getting things worse. They don't allow you cancel your order even did not receive anything and have to wait around 2 more months. I was so mad with this store and won't order anything from them. Be careful when you buy anything from them, also must be carful when they explain the delivery fee for you. What a disappointment. Not only is the space bland and completely uninspiring and dull, no one asked if we were looking for anything! They said hi and were nice enough, but we were literally in to buy something and no one asked anything about our needs. I was in the store recently. It is definitely not the same experience as the regular Crate & Barrel that used to be across the street. Products here at the new location are sparse. It doesnt feel like a 'design studio' it feels more like a 'this is all we can ship in from china right now' studio. For a supposed design showcase the products themselves have poor design. Everything has gone minimalist (except the plump older employees gossiping in the back). Ive got plenty of money to spend and no one was helpful or attentive. Im not a fan of overly attentive but at least acknowledging customers when no one else is in the store would go a long way. Bottom line I hope this place goes out of business. read more

Every time I walk into this store, I regret it. Their constant control and policing of you is annoyin, we felt we were targeted and velt uneasy, when told to stop, the manager was rude and confrontational it wasn't a welcoming environment. The lady at the front is paid to harras patrons, not happy, liked a few things but couldn't stay a minute longer, we wanted to get out and quick. We used to shop there so much, I remember when they were on the other side, before they moved, still have stuff over 20 years old we got from them, the culture has changed and it doesn't feel the same and the store feels empty too. Such a let down after visiting a miniature version of what C&B Pasadena used to be. Don't bother going in if you used to have fun browsing through a variety of items and spending money on all those goodies you didn't need but loved! I was in and out in 3 mins. The new store is solely a much smaller showroom with extremely limited products on display. Kitchen odds and ends, decorations, serveware are non existent. Just a dozen tabletop samples out and that's basically it. They would've been better off just closing Pasadena location altogether IMO. I love the brand and will stay their patron probably to less extent as I prefer to see what I'm buying in person. I won't be visiting their boutique though. In 2022, the item I ordered on-line did not work. Took it to store, staff extremely friendly. Greeted me, helped carry item. I asked them to test it just in case I was doing something wrong. They tested it. It did not work, they offered to order a new one, which I declined. I was issued a refund. Overall, excellent customer service. Today, I called about an item on-line. Staff very polite and helpful. She looked up the information for me, as it was not available on the computer. Since item is on stock at the store, I asked about the parking for the store, she provided that information too. Excellent customer service. read more

Truly the worst customer or shall I say lack of customer service I've ever encountered. My friend and I were looking forward to making some kitchen accessory purchases for our new homes. I was looking forward to making a purchase for my kitchen. How about I start with not being greeted when we entered the store. We counted 4 representatives working the floor and one other customer. I had planned on making some kitchen accessory purchases and was initially ignored by someone that was sitting at a desk, she made no eye contact and when we asked her where we could purchase kitchen accessories she mentioned the Basement. We could not access the basement so we asked two other representatives helping one customer with her purchase and they repeatedly ignored us. I politely asked 5 times and on my last attempt they told us they did not have a kitchen accessory area. I went back to the same rep that had initially ignored us for clarification and with a condescending tone she claimed that she never told us to look in the basement and when I asked her where the we could find kitchen items she responded with a smug face and said, "like what kitchen items". I think any representative that works at your store would know what basic kitchen accessories are and when I broke down what a kitchen accessory/item is she pointed to the back of the store and said that way. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I can only assume that as a people of color my friend and I were not ideal customers for your shop. I'm highly disappointed that an already empty store would have no regard for customers. I will highly discourage anyone I come across that's interested in making a purchase at your store to not shop there. I would expect more sensitivity especially with the current social climate (black lives matter) movement. Shame on you and your horrible store representatives. read more

If you're looking for a traditional Crate and Barrel store experience where you can browse through shelves and displays of home goods, this is not it. Instead, they've expanded their design services to be the main attraction. Staff are available to help you realize and plan your own home designs, and there is a much smaller amounts of actual products on display. This is useful if you're looking for advice from someone else with your own home designs, but you'll be disappointed if you came here to shop and look for inspiration from the products on display. Not realizing it was just a design studio, I came in searching for something they did have available that day, which is fine. Stores have changed a lot since Covid. But the Manager was completely awful. I'm assuming she was the manager because of her overwhelming bossy vibes. Really hope she doesn't work in customer service because she was a bitch. She talked over me the entire time, I could barely get my request out. The sales associates looked equally horrified. I want to say to them "blink twice if your being held hostage". I don't usually go the name calling route but I said what I said. That woman is high strung. It was so unpleasant. I will never go in there again read more

Had a terrible experience today and it's still bothering me. I'm Hispanic and I walked into this store looked around and a few things caught my eye. Wanted to inquire about them. Couldn't find any one to help me. I go to the back where I find 2 reps at a computer fiddling around but w no clients in site. I wait for about 2-5 mins one gentleman finally looks up and ask if I've been helped I said no not yet. He continued to do whatever he was doing. I wait for another minute or so and he Doesn't call anyone else to help. I turn around to see if any one else can help and everyone is sitting and doing whatever on computers. There was 1 other client in the store at the time and she was being attended to ( of course she was blonde). I got no attention. I just couldn't believe how neglected I felt. The store was empty! I walk out. Please don't shop here. Hope they end up closing this location. Now I know why they were empty. Went across the street to pottery barn and restoration hardware and both places I was greeted, attended to and treated w way greater respect. Did my shopping there. read more

I went to go check on the status of something that had been ordered for me a month and a half ago. Waited in line to speak to someone to see what was going on. When it was my turn the employee Liz who was helping me made it clear my small purchase was not as important as the people looking to buy furniture. She was very rude and just said we did call and text you,you never came so it's canceled and walked away to go help the other people. It was so bizarre how dismissive she was. Luckily the woman standing next to her named Elizabeth saw that I was confused that she had literally just walked away in the middle of helping me and helped me find out what happened and help me repurchase the item I had wanted. It was fine that there was a mix up in the notification, I never got the text or email but that's not a big deal, it can be reordered, it just took me by surprised being treated so poorly. read more

The dishes are back! I guess the Crate and Barrel Studio thing wasn't working for them because the location now has rows of tableware on the main floor and the big sofas are mostly gone. In a way, it's the worst of both worlds. It's not that fun to browse the limited selection of dishes and the unappealing furniture display on the second floor. So I will start with when I came in to pick up my order. I received a call that my order has been ready although I had requested to receive a text when ready. When I went in to pick up my order it took a very long time. The item that I ordered did not work out so when I went in to return the item the woman at the front register sent me to the back although she was not busy at all. When I got to the back there was an associate helping a customer and she asked for someone to come help me with my return. Her name was Marilyn and she was amazing. Someone came and left and than another associate came and helped someone else and said Marilyn would be right with me even though she was juggling a few customers. Marilyn is the one that ended up helping me with my return and was great. I worked retail and understand that people don't want to help when it's a return but they need to understand the returns were at one point purchases and bad customer service usually prevents that customer from purchasing again, at least with me it does. With all that you can do online people go in stores and customer service plays a big role in whether they will return. read more

Ordered a bed in September 2020 for a delivery in December. December comes and goes and no bed. January rolls in and no one knows where the bed is. Apparently it was lost in the warehouse. Three customer reps later, and months of sleeping on a mattress on the floor while pregnant we finally get someone that is willing to really look into the situation and help us. Finally we hear that they found the bed after loaning us a different colored bed. We took another day off for our bed to be delivered (this is Already almost February 2021). The bed delivered is dirty and torn. Over $4000 spent on a bed i wouldn't even pick up off the street if it were free. Now we have to trust and see if in another 3-4 months the company will get it right. Mind you this is what I'm dealing with during a pandemic and being pregnant. I'll have a full grown baby i made in less time than getting an actual bed. Don't waste your time. Go to a trustworthy company to get your furniture. read more

She worked with me patiently for over two hours, combing through different fabrics for my coach, measuring chairs, providing numerous choices, and even dragging over a heavy lamp to show me what it would look like next to a couch. I'm not an avid shopper, but I used to enjoy the old Crate and Barrel. It had a good atmosphere, lots of interesting items attractively displayed. This new store has lost all character, and its emphasis on furniture and design services is simply not for me. Perhaps I'm being too harsh, and someone who is looking for such services will appreciate it. But for me, this is now yet another somewhat high-end, ho-hum interior store, and I have no reason to come back. read more
