You know how it goes. You have an idea of something you want to make (version two of the chili garlic crisp) and how you want to make it (sliced garlic instead of chopped), but no idea if the tool you would need (a mini-mandoline) exists. Spoiler alert: it DOES exist, and you can buy it in-store, today! This Crate and Barrel is located in the Galleria, so it is extremely convenient for me. Despite it being Saturday afternoon (and thus busy), there was ample parking. To add to the positive experience, I was immediately greeted by a helpful employee who directed me to the microplane department, where I found my precious (mini-mandoline). Superb! The clearance department was close by, too, and I found a gorgeous stainless steel bento box (at a great price). My coworkers are going to be so jealous. The final "make for a great experience" happened in hole I was in line to check out--another helpful employee asked if I was going to pay with a card (I was) and offered to check me out right away, so I was in and out as quick as can be. I've been to this store's location a couple of times. Every time I've been has been good. I haven't had any issues trying to find what I need. I visited the Edina Galleria store in November of 2024 to buy some glassware. My experience was negative and frustrating due to very poor customer service. And what's worse, I had a very similar experience there the previous winter. Both times, a haughty employee with an insincere smile plastered on her face chastised me (and others) for not standing in the correct place while waiting in line for the register--no "excuse me," no apology for her presumption of speaking to us as though we were children. If the customers' natural instincts about where the line should be is at such odds with the dictate of the store, then the space is poorly designed. Change the space to fix this issue, do not continually "correct" the customers. Also both times, the payment system did not allow me to use my Wells Fargo debit card as a credit card to make my purchase at the register. There is simply no excuse for this: I use this card literally (not figuratively) everywhere else I buy things. Why is it a problem only at Crate & Barrel? However, I understand that this payment aspect is not under the direct control of the staff at the store; they could have sincerely apologized and offered other options. And I do note that last winter, a manager was able to complete the transaction by treating it as a phone sale (something I would not have stuck around for, except that I was purchasing a last-minute gift and had no other choice). This November, however, I received no apology, nor the slightest sense from any employee that the store was at any sort of fault. Instead, the cashier was very smug and insincere, with the disposition of a brusque schoolmarm--really the last sort of person a business would want dealing face-to-face with customers. The first manager called to assist simply said to try the card three times and flitted away. When that didn't work, and when I surprised the disinterested cashier by not sheepishly apologizing and going about my business, she called a second manager, who very abruptly told me there was nothing that could be done. Interestingly, the fact that this hurdle was stopping me from giving Crate & Barrel money didn't seem to be considered in the slightest; that was apparently of no concern. If Crate & Barrel's goal is to live up to the Galleria's reputation as a snooty, rich people mall, with pretentious employees concerned only with spiffs and commission, then well done: mission accomplished. Furthermore, relaying this experience to their corporate office resulted in nothing but a tepid and ineffectual form letter response. read more

Classic, Timeless, Clean, & Modern. Need I say more? This is my favorite place to get something for the kitchen, holiday decor and some cute kids bedding and accessories, etc. The stuff is lovely and lasts! On this particular visit I was trying to find something for my Tuesday Taco nights for the taco toppings. I got to the point where I was tired of using big bowls and I was trying to solve my problem. I didn't like anything in particular in the store but I liked something that was online. Gina was so helpful and helped me to order it along with buying an OXO salad dressing mixer and strawberry container for the fridge. C&B was my go to place to register for my wedding. We went here to register as we were 9 months out and needed some questions asked by pros also, wanted to do it in person cause why wouldn't you? The selection was excellent. But the customer service was confusing...they didn't know how to answer questions about any of their products. Espresso maker is what we needed help with, 3 different people who worked there couldn't help us whatsoever and asked us to come back on a Saturday afternoon (when it's busiest) when a different helper was there, and that was a maybe if he was there...Ummm no. I purchased a KitchenAid convection oven from Crate & Barrel at the Galleria. This product was defective. I had the receipt. We plugged it in it didn't work.... Pretty simple. I carried this box into the store. The sales associates stood at the front of the store and watched me struggle. As I walked into the store the box tore. The associates finally approached me. Instead of asking if they could help, they informed me of the back door. Letting me know that would've been easier. Teya M. was the sales associate that returned this defective product. Once again, this item was purchased over the weekend. I informed her that it was defective. She wanted a detailed reason in regards to what was wrong with the product. She also informed me that this product should be returned to the manufacturer not Crate & Barrel. Then her and another associate proceeded to unbox this item. I asked if she could just process the return, so I could leave. She told me that she needed to gather more information regarding the product before returning a product sold currently from their store. In the end, I did get the refund. They sold a faulty product and treated a customer as if it was her problem and not theirs. I would suggest avoiding this retailer. To the associates, customer service is key. I visited the physical store mainly because I was interested in registering at Crate and Barrel for my wedding. Also, I hoped that by walking around I'd get some decor inspiration. The store was bright, clean, and had fully stocked shelves. All the staff were wearing masks and there was plenty of hand sanitizer stations. My mom and I were greeted by a friendly sales associate named, Abigail. She was excited to hear about my wedding and offered to help me register as well as give us a tour of the store. The Crate and Barrel app was giving me major issues (with logging in, scanning products, etc.) which was a pain, but totally out of the store's control! Abigail provided me the IT customer service number and later on that day I was able to get registered through the website. Mainly looking for dinnerware, I explained to Abigail our home decor style and color pallet. She pulled together a beautiful place setting that totally grooves with me and my fiancé's style (see photo)! Its got an awesome mix of texture (mixing leather and gold placemats) that I never would have thought to put together. I LOVE IT! Then Abigail gave us the store tour which was super helpful, fun and informative. I got a lot of ideas for what to include on our registry. Afterwards, she gave me a free gift (two stemless wine glasses) which was so sweet. I know Crate and Barrel can be expensive, but their service is very good and their home decor is chic. read more

Don't have a huge selection of things however YES it is EXPENSIVE .. But they have amazing furniture pieces .. I been looking for a slope bowl for salad .. I have been fairly well obsessed with Crate & Barrel since we registered there for our wedding. Since moving to the Twin Cities three years ago, I have been delighted that there is at least a Crate & Barrel in the market but somewhat flummoxed by the fact that there's only one and that the lone location in this market really isn't that great. From the outside, you'd think it would be awesome -- two-story Crate & Barrel stores are generally awesome. But every time I bother to make the trip over to Edina, I find I am generally disappointed by the selection. I more often than not wind up not finding what I'm looking for and ordering it online anyway. The entire upstairs is furniture, which is fine I guess. But I would wager that more people are there for kitchen gadgets or smaller purchases than large furniture purchases. I really wish they'd devote more space to the general day-to-day Crate & Barrel merchandise and increase the selection available at this store. The staff is generally friendly but are often left offering to order whatever item I am after for me since it is not in stock in the store. This totally defeats the purpose to me, especially since I generally don't want to make a second trip to Edina and can just as easily order the thing online to be delivered to my home from the comfort of my pajamas. That and the fact that the parking situation here can be horrendous depending on when you visit and it almost makes it not worth the hassle of going at all. A shame. read more

I recently worked with Ashley S. at the Galleria Crate and Barrel to buy some furniture for my new home. I have been to this store several times for kitchen items, decorations, etc.., but this was my first time making a larger purchase. We exchanged emails several times before I came in to purchase my items, and she was very informative and proactive with getting me the information I needed. Even though I think she may be paid on commission, Ashley was not pushy at all and did not try to upsell me. I only bought a few items (and used my moving coupon), but she still made me feel like a very valued customer. For some reason I feel that the existence of certain chains in the Metro Area some how legitimizes MSP as an "important" city. I'm well aware of how superficial that sounds and is, but hey, it's my truth and my review. When C&B decided to move from sleazy Southdale to arrogant Galleria, I really could have cared less--I rarely shopped here anyway unless it was to buy something off a wedding registry. That is until I found out that this move was going to also bring about the first and only C&B furniture store in MN. The new store is nice; it's light and airy--making a fine addition to the Galleria. It's still the same stuff, but with some dressers, beds and chairs thrown in. The stuff looks nice, but since I don't own and C&B furniture, I can't discuss it's quality. All in all, I'm just happy we HAVE the furniture store. read more

Tonya was very inpatient and rude while my daughter was searching for the information on her phone . we thought we needed a bar code , but we needed an order number which we had and Tonya didn't explain that to us . she kept flagging the next person over to help as we stood there at the counter . I wanted to pick up two fabric samples before I decided what color to order two sofas that I intend to buy. I called the store to see if they could put these two samples aside for me so that I could run into the store and pick up quickly instead of finding an associate and waiting for them to get them. I was told this was not possible. They couldn't leave them at the cash register or anything. This store can not put things on hold - even during COVID! So strange IMHO! So, I went to the store (right after my call) and after waiting for awhile for an associate to find these, it turns out that these fabric samples are not in stock. Why couldn't they have at least checked to see if they were in stock before I went to the store? On top of this, I had to stay even longer to order them, got back home and see the order in my email is for the wrong fabric! Unbelievable! Get some decent customer service. read more

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! WORST Experience ever. One of the worst customer experience ever. I used to live in Boston and it wasn't as bad there... in fact, in Boston crate and barrel was quite common that there is no room for a bad customer service- but the one in Edina, probably spoiled by having just one store in the twin-cities - wants to make me boycott crate and barrel. They are not responsive at all to returning a broken item (this includes online customer service) that cost nearly $500. Also, the people in the counter don't seem willing to help about nor knowledgeable about their pricing, discounts and etc. One sales person said plates get discounts for a set of 4... so I ended up getting 12, but it it was actually discounted when it is a set of 8. Also, they don't know how to use coupons properly. All sales person have different information which is super confusing for customer. They clearly don't represent crate and barrel well. read more

I spent over $20,000 on furniture in December of 2020. One button came off my couch. I phoned and they told me to take a picture, send it via email and they would get back to me. It has been three weeks and no email or call. I am frustrated. I have had no response. I like my Crate and Barrell furniture but now my couch looks like crap as the missing button is in a very visible spot. I feel like I lately always have to run over to C&B for something in my kitchen. I worked with Taylor in the dinnerware and drinkware section and she was such a delight! I already had a set of the Aspen collection and wanted a few more pieces. She got me everything I needed, got the glasses I needed, and any last minute Thanksgiving items like a gravy boat and even wooden chopsticks (the chopsticks were not for Thanksgiving)! She knows that store better than the back of her hand. She had everything perfectly packaged at the front and ready for checkout. Taylor & Todd made the checkout experience pleasant. It was all smiles and they had great instructions for just pulling my car up in the loading dock after completing the rest of my shopping to collect my items. This review is for the upstairs furniture staff, the staff downstairs was helpful and nice. I just moved to Minneapolis and am in the market for a new kitchen table. I have shopped many Crate & Barrel stores when I lived in NY, NJ, and IL. I choose Crate & Barrel as the place to do my wedding registry and was generally happy with my experiences until today. My husband and I were looking for a kitchen table we had seen online and was supposedly on display at the Edina store. I walked around the store twice looking for it passing several salespeople. I stopped and looked at a few other tables and then got my phone out to pull up a picture of the table to show a salesperson. In the process 2 more salespeople walked by me but just kept walking. I understand if they were busy helping people but I was obviously not finding what I was looking for and not one of them said anything to me or even looked at me. I walked out of the store feeling like I must not look like I have enough money to have the privilege of being helped. I will not ever return to this store and I will be buying my table elsewhere. read more

I'll just admit it--I've turned into one of those boring married ladies who gets pumped about an early Saturday morning trip to the Galleria so I can peruse Crate & Barrel with a nice big Starbucks latte in my hand. I love C&B's contemporary style and moderate prices--falling somewhere between Ikea and Room & Board. It's a great place to buy affordable kitchen and tabletop items as well as browse their more expensive wares, like furniture and lighting. (I'm currently lusting over their Tailor Sofa with hemp fabric and nailhead trim.) As far as quality goes, I've been satisfied with everything I've purchased--mostly glassware and kitchen tools--but can't speak to the quality or durability of their furniture. We registered at C&B for our wedding, and would totally recommend it to anyone getting married. Customer service was great, absolutely zero issues with returns or exchanges which is super important when you're dealing with thousands of dollars of merchandise. Favorite C&B purchase? A 10-piece nested glass bowl set for $29.95. Doesn't seem like anything to be excited about, but it's become one of the most useful things in my kitchen. All in all, I'm a fan! read more

There are well-organized kitchenware and home decor on the first floor and furniture on the second floor. Crate and Barrel although has many products to offer, are most of the time very plain and boring. Bold colors is about as exciting as it gets. This review is for the staff upstairs, at the Crate & Barrel in the Galleria. My husband and I found a beautiful buffet online, and visited Crate & Barrel a few weeks before Christmas, ready to purchase it. Everyone that works upstairs ignored us, so we asked for assistance from someone that looked completely annoyed. We asked about the buffet, and were told that it was not something they carried in their store. I asked when it would be available for us to see, and the salesperson replied, quite rudely, that it wouldn't be here until mid-February. That was it. No alternative suggestions, nothing. Completely dismissed us. So, we left, and bought a beautiful buffet somewhere else. Last weekend, I went to C&B again (glutton for punishment, apparently) to inquire about the Colette Vanity desk. Ready to buy. Again, I had to ask for assistance, despite the fact that it was shortly after C&B opened, and there were salespeople everywhere. The man that helped me was the most unfriendly person I had ever met. Did not greet me with a smile, was not eager to assist me. And guess what? They don't carry the Colette Vanity desk! If I want it, I have to buy it and have it shipped to the warehouse. Then, I'm told if I don't like it, I can refuse it. My husband and I are remodeling our home, and there are several pieces of furniture we'd like to purchase. WHY is it so difficult to do so? Honestly? Ordering furniture is something I can deal with, but the incredibly rude and dismissive staff upstairs is just too much for me to handle. On a side note, the staff downstairs is wonderful. Crate & Barrel is Crate & Barrel, so I don't know how much good a review does for a particular store. It's a brand that's pretty consistent across the board, and pretty excellent compared to some of the other stores out there. My wife and I missed it so much since moving to Fargo last year with my job that we drove four hours to Minneapolis with visiting Crate & Barrel as our primary motivation. I've got my eyes on a Marin bar cabinet- that's going to happen. But I think my favorite find is their martini glasses for $5 each. I'm very particular about my glassware and have spent too much on Riedel Vinum martini glasses. $25-$30 a glass for guests and the risk of breakage just isn't going to fly in our household, but most other martini glasses have a cheap feel to them with a distinct seam or weld between the stem and the bowl (or they're a tacky variation). Crate & Barrel have a nice, elegant martini glass for a decent price. I'm a fan. If only we could have found a lowball or double Old Fashioned glass we liked as much. Plus, this location is attached to the Galleria mall, much nicer and more fashionable than the Mall of America. With a Westin hotel and a Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, and Chipotle all within walking distance, this area is going to be a highlight for my wife and I when we miss civilization and drive out for a visit again. read more

She not only knew where everything I needed was at but she made sure we got it all in a quick manner. She was like Flash around the store. I've always loved the quality and selection of goods at Crate and Barrel. Today I experienced their awesome customer service! I went to the store to try to cancel a gift card we had given to friends as a wedding gift the night before since it had been stolen, along with all the gifts and cards they had received. I had the email receipt they had sent me, which was key. The clerk immediately got a manager, who called the corporate office. They took my information and before I was even home, they called to tell me the card had been canceled and they were sending me a new one! I hate myself every time I walk into a store like this, yet, I cannot resist. I love kitchen utensils, and wish that, for whatever reason, I needed to spend $300 on some mixer for MY kitchen! I'm sure it works really good, and cannot wait to own one day, but let's be realistic. I am not a cook! ..and it's pretty bad! For real though, Crate and Barrel's stuff is great! I have tons of utensils, and baking pans and pots from here, and after having them for like 4 years or so, they still look shiny and new! I also love the packaging that you get when you buy stuff here. I just think it's that little bit extra that puts this store over the top. I know its minuscule, but seriousely...a box..instead of a bag.. but you can still get the bag too! The staff have been hit or miss when I've come here. Tonight the greeter was very nice, but when I was ready to check out the young, long haired, blonde woman at the register walked away. She looked at me a couple of times when she thought I wasn't looking. I was. An older woman came over and rang me up. She was extremely nice. Horrible Customer Service I received an item from Crate and Barrel as a gift that I really could not use and I did not want to bother the giver for a receipt, nor did I want to hurt her feelings by telling her that the gift was not something I wanted. I had hoped to get store credit and get something that I could use. The response was horrible! Apparently the new store policy is that they cannot exchange anything without a receipt or credit car that was used to pay. My item was wrapped in a store gift box, so clearly it was from them! I asked for a supervisor and then a manager, who could surely make exceptions. My mother was with me and she has been a loyal customer there for years. She was appalled at the lack of help they would provide. They said they couldn't do anything. I wasn't trying to get cash back, just something different. Most stores will give store credit without a receipt. I then went online to customer service and wrote an email fully explaining the situation. It took several days to hear back and when I did, they made it clear they hadn't even read my email. I got a form statement saying I needed to provide the order number and other stuff (which I clearly don't have) and they said that if it was purchased at a store (my email was clear that I had) I needed to contact the store directly. No help at all! This is a very poor policy toward people. My mother said she will not go to there store again. read more

Two words: SUMMER SALE!!!! Found an olive oil dispenser for 50% off - $3.95! All white. Left side of the store when you walk in. Also, a really cool serving platter, square shaped with three matching square bowls for sauces, dips, etc. that all sit right on the platter. Loved the look. It was around $16.95, regular $26.95 or so. In the far back right corner by glasses. Also, saw a pretty floral runner ranging from $9.95-$19.95 or so depending on size. Good price, but didn't need another runner for my table. Don't need anymore cocktail type glasses.. the colorful orange, green and blue glasses on sale $1.95 each, was $2.95 each, I think. Wish I needed them, may find a reason to need them, I think I may need them.... to the right when you walk in the door. HAVE FUN! Hope you find some great deals, too! read more

I've purchased many things from Crate and Barrel. The two stars is for an order placed for an item not in stock. The clerk said it would take up to two weeks. It has now been three weeks. I called and was told my item would not even arrive in their warehouse until sometime in mid Octobers. 3 more weeks away! We live in an age of Amazon Prime with fast deliveries and good order information/status. Good store but do not have them ship anything to you. No order status, no tracking information and no more trips to C&B for me. This is why I mainly shop online. read more
