Extraordinary shop - like a maze of a museum. One of my favorite stores in the country. I'll go every time I'm in town.

A great selection of vintage pieces and oddities! Hunt & Gather has a yard full of sign parts--individual letters from signs from Quizno's. Arby's, and many, many more. Those letters run $20-$50 each, unlit. There's a great collection of reasonably priced house plants outside too, as well as rusty plant stands and furniture pieces. Inside is a shop full of display after display of cool vintage goodies and artifacts. We noticed pieces from what must've been a fraternal lodge, carnival games, horns and shells, doll parts, toys, movie posters... I could spend hours here! Prices indicate the owners know what they have & do their research; you're not likely to find something drastically underpriced or ridiculously overpriced. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's a busy, popular place; if you love something you'd better grab it because it might be gone by your next visit!

Hunt & Gather is WILD; anything you can think of, you can probably find here. I will say, some points definitely got a bit stressful between the narrow walkways and traffic, but it's an experience you can't miss in the Cities! There were definitely some drawbacks: --Prices were a bit steep, especially for some of the specific items. --This place is NOT handicap accessible. If you have any sort of accessibility aids or are not fully able-bodied, this would almost certainly be a nightmare. Those points being made, I loved the variety of different objects here: furniture, tchotchkes, crafting supplies, books, the list goes on & on. Even if you don't buy anything, there are plenty of Instagrammable backdrops to take pictures with!

I've been meaning to make a stop in here for awhile and finally got the chance. There are so many unique and interesting items inside. Literally floor to ceiling packed with furniture, clothes, knick knacks, and thingamajigs! Some places are so packed where it was a bit spooky to walk around, felt like a bull in a china shop! Prices vary greatly between items. Some seem overly high, but others seem super fair. Definitely worth a stop in, you don't know what you will find!

We rarely make the drive up to the cities without a stop at Hunt & Gather. It's always an experience and we never fail to find something really cool. Such a fun, funky place to explore! If you haven't been, go get in the car NOW and get there!

I've driven by this place many times and was always curious about what was inside. Today I finally had time to check it out. It was an experience!! The store had so much stuff that I was a little overwhelmed. Fabrics, picture, postcards, antiques, clothes, and on and on. It's definitely worth checking out!

The name hits it on the head. This dungeonesque building is literally filled to the ceiling with stuff that is either junk or someone's treasure. You can spend the day hunting through the masses of stuff and find things that will bring back memories of your youth. I actually found a book of nursery stories that my grandmother read to me when I was a kid! I also found a fondu cookbook that my mom used to have when we bought our first fondu pot in the 70's. (And used about 5 times). If your looking for 70's or 80''s decor or clothing for a theme party or Halloween this would also be a great place to start. Plan for at least an hour (or more) to make your way through the labyrinth on multiple floors (and outside). Definitely fun, and you might find some cool crap that means something to you, or look good in your house.

Visited Minneapolis and not sure if this was an Altas Obscura or Yelp find, but wow! Delightful junk and vintage shop: a colorful carnival for the eyes. All three of us found something to love here and only two of us actually even like vintage shopping. They've included new gifts interspersed for book, graphic design and plant lovers. A veritable smorgasbord of stuff and a very fun and quirky browse and shop. Be sure to check out the basement and attic, as well as the side yard of enormous signage letters. Lots of nooks and crannies in this shop. Also a terrific micro-neighborhood nearby for other antique and vintage shopping, if you are so inclined.

Total treasure trove! This is a place that you can get lost in, maybe literally, but you'll like it. The way that it's currently curated has a mix of modern circus x retro chic x punk vintage vibes. It makes no sense on paper but it works irl. You'll be immediately drawn in by their famous lit-up letters, pink furniture and lush houseplants visible through the front garage door. We browsed several rooms across two floors + outside, and found treasures like clothes, modern and vintage prints, fun lettering, decor, furniture, jewelry, novelty items, plants, statues... what's NOT here, honestly. We got a tablecloth, matchbox, random letters that spell our son's name, a couple posters, and a vintage-looking dusty pink trench coat. I can't wait to go back and dig into more things for longer. I will say, it's not the best place during COVID, so go at your own discretion. They do require masks and social distancing, but sometimes it's hard to stay distant in the rooms (which is no fault of their own, just be safe and responsible!).

This place is so cool! First time visiting today & picked up a cute new plant and mug. There is SO much to look at, I could spend hours here and still not see everything. There's an upstairs and a downstairs with lots of rooms to explore. Never been anywhere quite like it. Many unique items. I can't comment on pricing really since I don't shop at many similar places, but I thought my items were reasonably priced. Plant (not the planter/pot) was $12 and mug from the 70s was $6.50!

This is such a fun stop if you're in the twin cities and you like eclectic, vintage things. Basically there is so much to see you'll be entirely overwhelmed but in a fun way! The prices are mostly prohibitive to someone in my income bracket, but it was super fun to just look around. It's an experience in and of itself!

    My favorite plant heads!

If I could even call it 'work' more like 'an absolute joy' When I heard about your antiquification process and method, I must admit I was unsure...well, here we are, aren't we? Like so many of these thrifty antique stores (some of them literally right around the corner, across the street AND next door to this place), The Loft so much bigger than it looks. The first floor isn't huge, but the basement goes on forever. It's just room after room of interesting oldies, but goodies. The woman upstairs was on the phone a lot, but she was still friendly. The guy working downstairs was helping someone move a piece out of the basement, but he still took the time to say hello. Kinda small, but appreciate that stuff. :) The specialty is clearly home-related merchandise, and I'd recommend checking The Loft out for furniture like credenzas, sofa tables, buffets, dressers and the like. There were a lot of cool options for that kind of furniture and all of it natural, beautiful wood and most of it in good shape. Also those antlers. Lots of mounted antlers of all shapes and sizes and most in the $50-75 range. The jewelry that I saw wasn't anything special and I didn't see much in the way of clothing aside from a few coats and fur stoles. The prices were moderate. I picked up a couple of items and was surprised at the higher-than-I'd've-thought expense, but mostly moderate. [I'd've=probably not a word.] In addition, I overheard a woman buying set of silverware haggle mildly with the shopkeeper and they knocked 10% off. A good reminder to me that it never hurts to ask for a better price at an antique store!
