I've drove past Flamingo's many times when I lived in south Mpls. I always said I wanted to stop by and finally made it happen. There's a ton of stuff to look at. Store was pretty busy when I went so it made me a bit nervous moving.m around rooms are parked with items. I realized this was more than just an antique shop, kind of thrift shop vibes. Like they had really old vintage items with modern day items mixed in; like Stanley cups next to cassettes. Trendy jewelry and such. It's generally cool to look at all the randomness. Prices seemed fair as far as things I checked for. It's two floors. The basement had a room with clothes, and some other stuff. Again tight spaces. Staff were nice and chatty at the checkout. Flamingo's is a hoot! They don't have regular hours; watch social media for announcements of their pop-up weekends. The weather was mild when we visited and small furnishings were displayed outside-- including vintage toys, and lawn furniture. Inside the shop is fun, playful and colorful. Merchandise ranges from classic to kitschy, vintage to new-but-cool. Clothing, housewares, decor and more are artfully layered in room after room. We took home several reasonably priced items and we'll be back! read more

I finally got to Flamingo's after driving past it a million times & it didn't disappoint! The inside is STACKED with treasures, including new and vintage items. My friends and I spent probably over an hour wandering through, since there were so many different spaces to explore! I felt the prices were fairly average for a curated vintage shop; some items were surprisingly cheap, while others felt marked up. The staff were walking around and were really friendly, and thanked us for stopping by (even though I didn't end up making a purchase), so that was a really nice little bonus. Overall, I'll definitely be back! It sounds like they'll be open a bit more frequently leading up to the holidays, so I'm looking forward to visiting again :) read more

We went the weekend they opened in December. Every booth was different. Quite a great selection and good prices. We got a vintage ceramic Santa, love it! They are now closed for 2 months, then they will open for a few days. I like it. They get all new merchandise from different people, each having their own space to set up. I was super excited to visit this store when I saw their posts on social media saying they were open this past weekend. They gave the impression that they're only open two days a month so I waited patiently for them to post that it was time! But now I'm not so sure because staff were talking about being open the weekend before as well. I believe they have *sales* two days per month and that's really what I ended up going to this weekend. You wouldn't know it because nothing appeared to be on sale. Each booth had a very different vibe to it, with no two booths having the same items. There is a main floor and a basement to check out. There's such a variety that you could probably find something in there to buy, but I'll be honest that I was pretty disappointed. A lot of the items were extremely overpriced Wish.com posters or stickers - I know because I've bought the exact posters for $1 that are now being priced at $20. One booth just had a set of Target mugs that were being sold. It's really a hit or miss situation and unfortunately this time it was mostly misses. The most unique find was a booth full of uranium glass. Staff were very friendly and fun, but I don't think I have any motivation to return. read more

Hidden gem of the twin cities. I love the variety and the items are priced so well it's amazing. I have to really, REALLY limit my trips here due to limited space in my apartment but I can't tell you how many people I tell about it. The best day is to go the first day of the sale and early, but they do put stuff out as the days go on. The friendliest staff in the world work here! This is another one of those places that I've selfishly kept to myself for a while. Time to introduce y'all. Yelp, meet Flamingo's. Flamingo's is an occasional shop that features vintage and antique furniture and home decor. If you have Anthropologie taste on a Forever 21 budget, you should come here. I don't know what the man metaphor would be, but you should also come here if you're furnishing your house and don't want to rely solely on Craigslist. Flamingo's a lot like the other open-monthly store Cottage House in South Minneapolis, but with slightly less painted, shabby chic furniture. I LURVE Cottage House too, but I often think, "I'd dig this dresser/chair/table if it weren't painted lime green." At Flamingo's it's not painted lime green! Some of it is painted, but many of the items had their original stain (yay, wood grain!). A few things looked as if they could use some TLC, but a little sanding and staining is nothing compared to stripping green paint off of a gorgeous mahogany desk... then sanding and staining. Flamingo's has a basement too, so what seems like a small store is actually pretty large. I saw interesting light fixtures, a set of beautiful gothic chairs and so many more treasures. It's an absolute gold mine for side tables and nightstands. The store is open about one long weekend a month (Wed-Sun). The staff was very engaging and seemed to be having a lot of fun doing what they do. I see one problem with these occasional stores is that everyone snatches up what I like on the first day. It was heartbreaking to rush over to an antique dresser only to see a SOLD sign on it (and then have that happen another two times). However, the lesson of garage sales, estate sales and Flamingo's is that the early shoppers get the deals, so I just have to get up earlier next month! read more

NEAT! NEAT! NEAT! NEAT! NEAT! Why couldn't I have found this place sooner!?!? From the second we drove up and saw the sidewalk filled with treasures, I knew this wouldn't be a quick stop. My mom and I made our way through the furniture and knick knacks on the top level, only to find out they had even more downstairs!!! I will warn you... those stairs could KILL YOU! So incredibly steep and there isn't much to hold on to because they have more items strewn along the side as you go down. The basement had even more fun things than the upstairs!!! Our final purchases?? A vintage coach purse and a 70's overnight suitcase that was ADORABLE!!! Thank god this is only an occasional sale... it allows me to save up $$ for the next one! read more

What a unique find you are, Flamingo's! Thanks Yelp, for the introduction. I ventured over to this place for their October sale, and let me tell you, I was very impressed! Go here for the antique furniture, nightstands, and desks. Seriously, so many to choose from. I found myself a neat sofa table in a seafoam green, and a nightstand in white. Both of the finishes were not done well, but I bought them with intent of painting them and fixing them up a little. A lot of pieces definitely need a little TLC, as miss Annie D. stated.. but just a little sanding and repainting. I kind of disagree with the other reviewers about Flamingo's not being painted an array of colors. Most things at the sale this time were bright blues & greens, with an ocassional piece that was white or black. And not many I spotted with the orginal woodwork unpainted. Flamingo's definitely reminds me of The Cottage House, but the prices at Flamingo's vary a bit. Some are a crazy good deal, others are a bit more pricy. It just takes a little digging! Just like estate sales, you can sometimes bargain down the prices on the last day (Sunday), but most likely not before then. All in all, a definitely must see for crafters with a vision and love for fixing up some furniture or fashionistas on a budget. Note: They did a wine/shopping hour the night before the sale launched in October. Aka those on the mailing list got first dibs. I have died and gone to vintage heaven!!! This place is it. I love filling my home with vintage goods. Ceramic critters are my weakness. Let me tell you, this place has it all. It's a funky little store that you might just pass by if you didn't know the treasures that lie within. Yes, they are only open one weekend a month. I think that makes it more fun. Just keep an eye on their website or IG for dates. I went to Flamingo's for the first time this past weekend with my mother. We went on a Sunday and had to wait in line for just a wee bit because they are limiting customers in the store due to COVID which is great. When I entered, it was everything I wanted it to be. This place is two floors of jam packed goodness. And I mean packed. Everywhere you look there is a new treasure to be found. There is an amazing assortment of items. The staff is super helpful and constantly checking up on you to collect items you have in your basket and set them aside or answer any questions. This was perfect because I kept picking up pretty fragile stuff. On a first walk through, I found about 40 things I wanted and had to narrow down the list. I ended up buying this incredible globe that lights up and has a stand. I also got a beautiful urn that had critters all over it. This is an occasional store only open once a month on Cedar. There are retro and cute antiques. Some things are pricey some things are reasonable. The steps going to basement are uncomfortable and you need to announce coming down so no one tries to walk up on the other side. There are 3 small rooms downstairs with stuff. There is free candy. The people running the store are friendly. So hit or miss. Sometimes I buy something, sometimes I don't. Parking is on Cedar before 4:00. They have a tiny lot in back. read more

Flamingo's Divine Finds is an interesting place - definitely a bit flamboyant as the name encourages one to think, but I wouldn't say it lives up to the "divine" statement. I've never found anything here - I've only been twice but usually once the second visit happens for me at places like this I can find something that will keep me coming back to check it out. Not here, not at all. One big issue with this place is their steel, break-your-neck stair case for the basement full of more goods. It's a scary event going up and down those stairs and when you get down them, there really isn't anything to write home about. This place is so odd, and not just in name alone. I love it. Now, its very hit or miss, but because I've had several hits, I love it. And I'll keep coming back. They have a unique mix of items...some really old, some retro, some just strange. Its good stuff. Generally speaking, their prices are great. The people that run the shop are so nice, as well. The sale runs once a month, from Wednesday to Sunday. I've heard that on Sundays, there is a big flea market in the back, with some great deals. I haven't gone yet, but I am eager to scope it out. Love this place! Could spend hours just staring at all the cute stuff. I've had two successful visits to this place. My purchases? A mint condition gum ball machine (working!) and the cutest little vintage dresser you ever did see.. both for amazing prices. I love Flamingo's! I discovered this occasional sale last summer, and have made it a point to visit every month. I always find something to buy that is unique and reasonably priced; one time I was short on cash and the vendor knocked a couple dollars off the price. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there is even a form to fill out to request custom items. This store was an amazing find. We happened to wander in on a non-sale day (they were just getting the inventory in order) and the gracious sales folks/artists let us in to browse around. We were in heaven! We found so many things to purchase between the 3 of us, that we filled up the back of our car, and a beautiful antique dresser is being delivered tomorrow! The prices were unreal! I visited Flamingos for my first time during their January sale. It was a chilly evening and they greeted me with hot apple cider. what a perfect way to start my hunt! :) Usually I enjoy going to these types of places to look/drool over the cool furniture, but I rarely purchase because I'm a bit of a penny pincher.... Here I actually made purchases! I found a desk chair, a nightstand & some decor nick nacks. The store had a nice variety. The people working were friendly, helpful & seemed to enjoy talking about pieces. The gentleman that helped me load my car seemed to have a passion for furniture & was conversational about it. It was a fun way to spend an hour pa-roozing, and nice that I could actually find something within my budget to purchase! I will definately be making it a habit to visit monthly! read more

Flamingo's Divine Finds is an excellent source of the quirky, the arty, the older and better and even the practical. If it were open more than four days a month, I would go every week. If I had a little more money and a lot more room I would buy stuff every time. As it is, I got one of the best furniture pieces I have ever got from there - a lovely heavy but not fussy bookcase, low-profile, with little drawers along the bottom. It's sitting by my bed, and it really "makes" the room. Also, a friend bought me a really quirky oil painting from there which is just the thing I need to nail down my attempt to combine 50s and 60s retro with artsy-craftsy in my apartment decor. They're very friendly there too, and the prices are quite reasonable. read more

The store itself is really cool. They've got unique and funky finds and it's a shame I won't be giving them my business anytime in the near future. Although there are different sellers, the owner is extremely rude and inflexible. I was interested in buying a poster that he purported was vintage, only to realize it was manufactured circa 2014. The same poster sells for $5 in a museum gift shop; not so much a divine find after all. I tried to negotiate price since he wanted $25 for it, but instead of being reasonable or providing any customer service he was snarky and rude. When I voiced my discontent he barked at me to "go buy it online." Buyer beware. read more

What an incredible find, this store has such cool stuff. We were just going to stop in, but ended up spending an a couple of hours there, but due to time constrictions we had to leave. You better believe we returned the next day and made some purchases. I'm a little hesitant to spread the word about this place because I want to keep it my little secret, but I also want to see this business grow and succeed. The staff is great! Free snacks and they help you carry and load up your purchases. Everything is refurbished or antique, its a good fit for anyone with tastes from eclectic to the modern to classic. The other reviewer has said most of it, but I wanted to add my 2 cents and another positive rating, because I love this place so much. Every time I go, I find so many things I love that I have to make some hard choices that would be easier if everything weren't so affordable. We have been using them to help furnish our house, and people are always like "hey, where did you get that awesome thing?" Plus, the sellers there are way friendlier and more engaging than some other occasional sales I've been to, which for me goes a long way. They sometimes have wine and cheese nights which you can find out about if you get on their mailing list, and the bf and I have definitely gone just to hang out as well as browse. I also think they have some slightly more creatively repurposed things than Cottage House. Less "lime green" and more "hey this was a cabinet in a machine shop and now it's awesome pantry space!" Finally, for all of you who know the pain of finding a great used item that you can't transport yourself, you can work out delivery. I'm not sure what their range is, but if you're not too far away it's quite reasonable and totally worth it since the prices are low. read more

I'm a Cottage House fan so I hit up this store when I was in the neighborhood one week. This one also has a TON to look at (two floors) but it's more random, antique store/has old stuff that really isn't refurbished. (Cottage House is a lot of refinished stuff, mixed with new items and I prefer that type of store.) For me, I found a few neat artworks and some artsy holiday décor. i'd definitely shop here again when I'm out in this neighborhood. read more

This store is chock full of fun and interesting things. Their sale is 5 days once a month on average and the furniture & "finds" seem different every time we go so we have learned to "grab it when we see it"! The prices are quite reasonable for vintage and unusual stuff so we try to make sure to hit every sale. We are always offered something to drink as well as a cookie while shopping. The owner and others working there are always pleasant with friendly non-intrusive, interesting conversation and tidbits of information about items. We can spend minutes or hours in this shop but we always leave with a treasure. Sometimes we find something we did not know we wanted or even existed! read more

Like Laura S. said in her review, buyer beware. I just got home from undoubtedly the worst customer service experience with the owner and his employees that I have ever had. I went with my sister and my 2 year old son. I thought it was a little weird that the employees felt the need to follow us around the whole store, including into the basement, but didn't think much of it. My son was sitting on the floor playing with wooden blocks while I purchased a few items when the owner went up to him and snatched them out of his hands. I was pretty pissed off because he was causing no harm to them whatsoever, and after going out to my car and starting to head home, my conscience told me to return the items because I didn't want to support a business that would be so blatantly rude to a small child and his pregnant mother. The owner said (and I quote) "We don't take returns but whatever, we'll give you your money back so that you don't ever come here again." Also went on to say that I had the worst behaved child he's ever seen and on and on. He's a 2 year old. He touched a few things but was not even remotely misbehaved. Lesson learned, don't go there with kids (unless you have a mute robot for a child). Still trying to shake the memory of everything he said. read more
