Ruby, the shop's lab, walking around on a dreary day.

This place is adorable! The staff is so down-to-earth and friendly, which is so refreshing with an expensive store. They are really wonderful members of the community. In fact, the owner distributes random daffodils all over the neighborhood as a welcome to spring!

The Foundry is a stunning store. Gorge-malorge, as my friend Kelly S would say. In laymen's terms, hubba hubba. This simple, upscale shop in the North Loop that just opened this year and it features modern home goods and natural cleaning supplies. Inside and out, it's styled so.damn.well. It had me at flower boxes and exposed brick. I admit that I was hoping for more home decor items, but the small shop seems to lean a little toward laundry soap and fancy brooms. As much as my Pinterest boards might disagree, fancy brooms aren't very practical for my life. The natural cleaning products might not be as pretty as the dustpans, but they ARE practical, so I love that. The small selection of home accessories (the little gold and white bowls, cutting boards, salad servers, etc.) is very beautiful. The prices aren't too crazy either. I really look forward to seeing what the owner finds next!

I like that some items (beeswax candles, big beautiful lathe-carved bowls, some pottery) are from right here.

It is a walkway that is lined by bars, restaurants with sidewalk seating, art, small, independent shops, bountiful greenery, it's always been closed to motor vehicles and restricted to buses and taxis, which has always been a nice advantage, especially in a downtown district. It is not as impressive as it once was, pre-COVID, but still a nice place to visit! One complaint from everyone is that there are no public restrooms, so f you need to go, you need to stop in to like a store like Target, or stop in at one of the many coffee shops and eateries for lunch or coffee...well, possibly that's what the intention is that there are no public restrooms...Hmmm.... I recently visited on a Sunday, my first time after so many years, to visit the Jackalope Art Fair, a downtown Minneapolis Street Festival, which started on 7th street down through Nicollet Mall and had an enjoyable time! I was already prepared ahead of time, regarding the public restrooms and parking, so I had no problems! One stop when you are here that's definitely a must is to check out the Mary Tyler Moore statue on 7th! The actual place and the statue is posed like how she did her beret toss on her show. Pretty Cool!

I was walking around here at 9am and I personally only saw characters who noticed me. As a New Yawker, I am used to walking every where and instead I decided to use the skyway towards my hotel. While it is nothing special, it is an oasis in the middle of a bustling downtown. It's a nice place to stop and get a coffee or a bite to eat. FYI, the Skyway has set operating hours and does close. Parking here is simple. You can park in the connected commercial parking garage, or find a spot in one of the nearby commercial lots or metered street parking. The Center has security roving and is very clean and hip. I will admit that it does not have many retailers or restaurants though. You will find a GNC, Marshals, a UPS Store, Cardigan Donuts, the Salad Bar, City Market, Fogo de Chao, Naf Naf Grill and Starbucks. There is a lot of space available in the Center. This is not a very exciting or thrilling place and it does not have a lot going on. It is really clean and connects you to a lot of downtown attractions, without having to go outside much, which is valuable during the harsh Minnesota winters. I was staying at one of the connected hotels, so I found this spot convenient and pretty cool that I could stay inside and get to places. However, outside of staying there, the place does not have much value and if I was not at the connected hotel, I probably would not have visited.

I'd just pop in to some awesome store, play dress up and then come back through my wardrobe like the Pevensie children. Anyway, Parc Boutique would definitely be one of my fashion portal stops. I follow the owner Thao on Twitter and Pinterest because she has amazing taste, so I should've known how much I'd like this store. It had been a while since my first visit to Parc (when I was young and broke), so my visit last week felt like the maiden voyage. There's a balance of affordability and higher-fashion style here, which I appreciate because that is a balance I try to find on a daily basis. There's a great selection of dresses, tops, jewelry, denim and more---all priced and curated well. The bauble table was where I had the most trouble saying goodbye. I saw the most interesting geometric pendant priced at about $75 (as usual, my eye wanders to one of the most expensive things on the table). Though I couldn't bring myself to drop the cash, I was compelled to put it on my Christmas list eight months in advance.

As well as clothing, they also carry the cutest natural skin care lines, especially Herbivore Botanicals. If you're in Minneapolis and have a shopping day, I highly recommend you stop in to their shop.
