A thrift store full of eclectic oddities, curiosities, taxidermy and gothic accessories. Perfect for slightly spooky home décor or office accessories. They have everything from butterfly shadow boxes to individual porcupine quills to a whole taxidermy bear. I asked the workers about how they source their materials, and they were able to tell me that skull I was interested in had come from naturally foraged skeletons or were remains bought from an animal sanctuary- no animal farms or purposeful hunting. An extremely unique store with a surprisingly upbeat vibe (look at all of their plants) for being full of bones. We had a great time poking around! One of the many vintage stores in easy walking distance from each other in the Northeast neighborhood. Maybe slightly expensive for some items (?), but I am honestly not sure how to price animal skulls, so maybe it is average (shrugs).

Stumbled into this place after having lunch. This place had so many kitschy cool macabre items it made my black heart swoon. The staff were informative about their items. There was a larger selection of dead butterflies or beetles. Perfect to display in any house. While a little pricey, their unique candle scents smelled great. Being a huge need for all things macabre, this place hits the spot!

Coyote Cranium tag from Twelve Vultures :)

Twelve Vultures is such a rad shop!!! I recently found the tag from a coyote skull I purchased a few years back from them, stuck in chapter 3 of a book I'd started reading, and used the tag as a bookmark. It reminded me of how awesome the shop is! Highly recommend checking them out

Oh, wow! What an amazing little curiosities shop that I wandered into while visiting the many unique women-owned stores during the Vintage Fall Crawl that goes through the end of October. There really is something for everyone here. Some highlights: - real human skeleton playing the harp - sea urchins shells that look like pretty cookies - wide assortment of animal taxidermy - deer phalanges, only $2 per toe - delicate bat skeleton - preserved insects - antlers and other animal bones - sea creatures - oh so much more! The staff is so nice and helpful. I did purchase one of the items listed above. I'll leave you to ponder which one made it home with me...

Love this shop! It has anything and everything, all reasonably price. If your into antiques, taxidermy, medical, oddities or the macabre this is a gold mine. I've been collecting antiques for a long time and have been in many shops, Twelve Vultures is definitely a special destination. I've bought a couple of pieces from Adam who is very knowledgeable, pleasant and an all-around great guy! My cats been staring at my new treasure for about 30 minutes - def a great find and buy!!!

This is a very cool oddities store. For those who are into oddities stores. We stumbled across Twelve Vultures after getting banh mi at Lu's last winter, and though the shop isn't big, it feels like you can get lost shopping in it. So...yeah, oddities = taxidermy, skulls, antique medical equipment... It's not your soy-candle-and-macrame kinda shop, which is a good thing. I've been following them on Instagram and the owner makes it very clear that the animal decor is ethically-sourced, which I understand can be a huge concern for shoppers, including me. We also saw: houseplants, shells, clocks, posters, vintage photos, figurines, antique spoons, books, rare decor, vials and bottles of all sorts, one time there was a coffin.

There was a bin in the back that was lower cost but it was mostly sweaters and shirts that weren't my style and not what I need at the moment. Nothing to bring me back here honestly but there are certain types of people that would love this. Prices seemed steep but it's vintage and they can get away with it.

I'm torn on how to rate The Cat and the Cobra. I was excited to see a vintage clothing store tucked…read moreaway in what seems like a warehouse section of the North Loop. Plenty of parking in the shared lot or on the street. You'll need to be buzzed into the store as the door is locked. Once inside the shop is pretty small and jam packed with stuff....almost too much stuff. It was hard to look at items and the vibe felt a little meh. I still wanted to browse and find something to take home, I'm not sure if I missed the memo for sizing on tops but it was hard to know which section I should be looking in. There were some great finds in there, but also pretty expensive. Previous reviews mentioning prices seem to be several years old so keep in mind that you'll be spending a lot depending on what you're looking for. I will say- if vintage is your style and you're open to what you wear this would be a good stop. If you're a little more picky and looking to save some money this may not be the best option.

As loving parents, we want to help them furnish their home with furniture they will cherish. Repurpose Republic has the best stuff and the best prices in the city. I know, because we spent all day checking out consignment stores in every nick and corner of the Twin Cities. (They're certainly not identical twins!) The proprietor Doug is engaging and informative. He has an eye for a pieces that are architectural beauties. Yet, he can also turn that basement throw away into something that should be displayed in the Museum of Modern Art. Repurpose Republic is the kind of place you want to return to often, just to see what new beauty shows up on the showroom floor. Unfortunately, Repurpose Republic was our first stop, and I was exhausted with all the wasted hours visiting other consignment stores. Save yourself some time and just "hit up" Repurpose Republic. It's the best.

While driving past after hanging out with my mom, I slammed in my brakes and whipped a U-ee. Lucky me with my good parking juju, I was able to pull in right out front. I love a good repurpose store and now living in NE I'm in need of some lighting that fits the whole cool Nordeast vibe. This store is chock full of mid century/retro/some redesigned stuff all without that old people basement smell. (Thank God!) This place has more mid century lamps in one store than I've ever seen in my life!! There are a few super groovy ones that would be a blast to have just for conversation it would conjure up all on its own. The con: maybe it's my jacked up NE Mpls rent I'm now paying or my lack of experience on the cost of retro lighting but I'm not sure I can afford these prices. Boo...because I had a good 5 different lamps/lamp sets that my heart was pitter-patterning over. I was able to chitchat with the owner for a bit before there was a sudden Saturday afternoon rush that poured in. I had asked "if it was consignment? Just him buying/reselling? Buy from others that bring things in off the street?" He responded with "All three" and let me know that he also has some local artist work displayed for sale as well. (Ya, this girl is totally into the whole "support local" thing!) I'll definitely be back to see what cools finds get added...and probably be back for a few lamps...after payday.
