    Cute dog named Bailey

The Corner Store is one of the last, cool vintage stores left in Uptown. There are few places that are unique in this area like this little gem. The quality and authenticity of their products is unbelievable. The staff is knowledgable about their collection, including the history and genres of the clothing and accessories. If something doesn't work, they recommend a similar style within the same genre (a leather jacket for my boyfriend, in my case). The dude even had a couple cool stories about Bruce Springsteen visiting the store when I thought of buying a band shirt. He was a super nice guy who shook my hand and introduced himself. He remembered me being there a couple times in the past. The icing on the cake was Bailey, the scruffy dog, who came out briefly for a little pat on the head. Apparently she is shy dog, but she's cute as a button. Anyway, I bought a couple mohair scarves, Irish tweed scarf, a 1950's houndstooth coat, and a vintage Rolling Stones tee shirt for my man. I would recommend this place to people who want to see quality products that date back to Victorian era (like the women's boots displayed on the shelves) to cool 80's shirts displayed behind the counter. Cool stuff! It might be a bit more expensive, but if you take the time to shop here at least you won't bring home some cheap bedbug infested article of clothing like Liz F. does from gross places like Savers and Unique thrift store. Also, if you're lucky enough to find anything good at those trashy places it will be totally overpriced because all the "cool" kids shop there and prices have risen substantially. Might as well buy new.

This is a decent place to get vintage clothing, but it's kind of overpriced and the owner seems like kind of a crab. They are pretty selective about what they take in, so you don't need to do a lot of digging. I for one, like Tatters a lot more. But if you've got the money and not a lot of time it's a great place to find old Levis, cowboy boots etc.

Pretty suit set I bought here

I love this store. Great selections of jeans, shirts (especially old Pendleton's and Hawaiian), leather jackets, jewelry. Truly great.

A pretty good selection but the cashier was extremely rude when I decided to put some things back after they didn't fit.

There was a bin in the back that was lower cost but it was mostly sweaters and shirts that weren't my style and not what I need at the moment. Nothing to bring me back here honestly but there are certain types of people that would love this. Prices seemed steep but it's vintage and they can get away with it.

Plenty of parking in the shared lot or on the street. You'll need to be buzzed into the store as the door is locked. Once inside the shop is pretty small and jam packed with stuff....almost too much stuff. It was hard to look at items and the vibe felt a little meh. I still wanted to browse and find something to take home, I'm not sure if I missed the memo for sizing on tops but it was hard to know which section I should be looking in. There were some great finds in there, but also pretty expensive. Previous reviews mentioning prices seem to be several years old so keep in mind that you'll be spending a lot depending on what you're looking for. I will say- if vintage is your style and you're open to what you wear this would be a good stop. If you're a little more picky and looking to save some money this may not be the best option.

As loving parents, we want to help them furnish their home with furniture they will cherish. Repurpose Republic has the best stuff and the best prices in the city. I know, because we spent all day checking out consignment stores in every nick and corner of the Twin Cities. (They're certainly not identical twins!) The proprietor Doug is engaging and informative. He has an eye for a pieces that are architectural beauties. Yet, he can also turn that basement throw away into something that should be displayed in the Museum of Modern Art. Repurpose Republic is the kind of place you want to return to often, just to see what new beauty shows up on the showroom floor. Unfortunately, Repurpose Republic was our first stop, and I was exhausted with all the wasted hours visiting other consignment stores. Save yourself some time and just "hit up" Repurpose Republic. It's the best.

While driving past after hanging out with my mom, I slammed in my brakes and whipped a U-ee. Lucky me with my good parking juju, I was able to pull in right out front. I love a good repurpose store and now living in NE I'm in need of some lighting that fits the whole cool Nordeast vibe. This store is chock full of mid century/retro/some redesigned stuff all without that old people basement smell. (Thank God!) This place has more mid century lamps in one store than I've ever seen in my life!! There are a few super groovy ones that would be a blast to have just for conversation it would conjure up all on its own. The con: maybe it's my jacked up NE Mpls rent I'm now paying or my lack of experience on the cost of retro lighting but I'm not sure I can afford these prices. Boo...because I had a good 5 different lamps/lamp sets that my heart was pitter-patterning over. I was able to chitchat with the owner for a bit before there was a sudden Saturday afternoon rush that poured in. I had asked "if it was consignment? Just him buying/reselling? Buy from others that bring things in off the street?" He responded with "All three" and let me know that he also has some local artist work displayed for sale as well. (Ya, this girl is totally into the whole "support local" thing!) I'll definitely be back to see what cools finds get added...and probably be back for a few lamps...after payday.

The owner (I assume she was the owner) looked them over while I looked around the store. When I went back up to the front, all she said was, "I'll pass." I was a bit surprised, so I said, "Can I ask why?" She said, "They have a strong dry cleaning smell, so maybe if you put them in the backyard or something." (I smelled them again and I honestly don't smell anything, but whatever.) I said, "Okay, so if I do that... is there anything here you'd take? Because I don't want to do all of that and lug everything back and you're just not interested." She very curtly said, "I don't know, I didn't really look." No smile, no "thanks for coming in." (Her associate who was working there was nice.) The whole time, she was just very curt and abrasive with me. And even though I was there to try to sell clothes, if she had treated me like that if I had walked in there to buy clothes, I would have NEVER bought anything from her. I definitely would have felt unwelcome and walked out. My negative review is not based on her decision not to buy my clothes. That's totally her decision - I was disappointed, but that's fine. My negative review is based on how she treated me. I felt she was very rude to me the whole time. I will not try to sell anything there anymore, nor will I go in to buy anything either. (The owner will probably do a reply on this review, and that's fine. I believe that my review is objective of what happened, and readers can make their own decision.)

It's across the street from our all-time favorite ice cream shop, Crema, so it's not as if she had to twist my arm. However! It took us several tries, due to their 6pm closing time, before we finally got in. I geeked out big time, I'll admit it. Minneapolis is the best, I repeat, the BEST city for vintage clothing (affordable, and otherwise) and June is a great addition to my usual rotation of secondhand stores. The owner, Daune, is really sweet, and the dressing rooms have two very important elements: red velvet curtains and flattering light. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE SHOE RACK OH MAH GOD IT IS AMAZING. Seriously. For serious. Seriously. No, I'm really serious about this: Manolo Blahnik, D&G, Marc Jacobs, Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin, Te Casan...most run for less than $100 and are presented beautifully on high, white shelves in the back room. Great purses and wallets (Vivienne Westwood...oooooooooh), though those will cost you a pretty penny. The clothing racks are full of great finds, albeit some questionable ones (what is a Guess? denim miniskirt doing next to Oscar de la Renta?), but there's no way you'll leave here empty-handed. I bought: Marc Jacobs Black Nubuck Mary Janes ($45) Anna Sui Black Lace Goth-Style Dress ($55) Gold Sunburst Cocktail Ring with Blue Stone ($20) Do...you...have...ANY...idea...how much these items would cost in a New York high-end vintage shop? Hot damn. You lucky, lucky folks. It's places like these that keep me coming back for more...
