First time coming in after new owners took over. It's still in a perfect location and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy breakfast or lunch. I got the Mexican Omelette which was okay, asked for fries instead of home fries which were very tasty. The Omelette really should have more chorizo in it if that's the main component. I'd say 75% of my bites were without it and just cheddar cheese. The waiter also forgot my toast and I didn't realize until after I was done. He quickly brought it over when asked but you could tell it was the same toast they had forgotten 15 minutes prior. Others got a pork roll sandwich, jersey benedict and the southwestern breakfast which looked and was very tasty. I really think they should expand the lunch menu, the options if you didn't want a burger were very limited. Overall food was 3.5/5 and service 2/5, it was really kinda slow in a pretty empty place. We asked for the check and it easily took more than 5 minutes and the waiter said oh I thought someone brought it out already. This is a collective review, by our party of 4. If the Cranberry Cafe sold only cranberries, it would be a better breakfast. Two stars for the location. Inside, is dark, and hot and seemingly devoid of AC. Cash only. CASH ONLY! Blueberry pancakes had a total of 3 blueberries, but then they tossed a handful on top. I did not want or expect that. They charge an extra $2 to put blueberries ON TOP of stuff. Breakfast consensus: Re: hash browns-grey, limp, like an alien at Roswell. "Definitely in the bottom 5 of hash browns I've eaten." Although we miss the Bayside Cafe staff and menu, the Cranberry Cafe shows a lot of promise. If you liked Bayside Cafe because of the location and atmosphere, you'll like Cranberry Cafe too and you'll appreciate the new tables and chairs. We look forward to going back regularly. There's nowhere else like it in the area. The few service complaints other reviewers made are clearly just part of new restaurant teething -- they need another server, maybe two more at the busiest times. All of the staff we saw were hustling and acknowledged they were shorthanded but did not make mistakes. It would be far worse if they were clueless -- they're not. Yes, the prices are a bit more than before, but isn't everywhere? The menu is different, with an apparent BBQ specialty, but it would be nice if they mixed up the menu with some specials that included fresh/grilled/non-fried seafood options, hence 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

I really don't want to complain especially in these times when small businesses are struggling but I made our server aware of the situation and nothing was done. I ordered the meat lovers omelette. Comes with pork roll, sausage, bacon and cheese. I asked for no pork roll and add onions. When the omelette came out it had sausage cheese onions and ham. I asked our server if they added ham and said there was no bacon, that maybe I got someone else's omelette. She took the plate back and after a few minutes she returned with the same plate and same omelette. She said she wrote no pork so it was her mistake, she's sorry. And gave me back the wrong omelette. Never mind that ham and sausage are pork. And there was no bacon. The omelette was completely wrong and she brought it back with an apology. Not the correct omelette. I didn't eat it and when she cleared my plate she apologized again. The bill however was for the full price of the omelette I ordered. They weren't busy so this wasn't a result of being short staffed. There were empty tables inside and out. This was preparing the wrong order and not correcting it. read more

New owners, new menu, new decor, still such an amazing location!! This spot has been a favorite of my husband and I for a while now and we are so excited of the recent changes in hands!! The menu features so many different and fun eats the service was great and we are so happy we got to check it out this MDW! I enjoyed the California omelette that has goat cheese in it!! YUM my fav! My husband had the nutter butter waffle and that was so Devine as well!!! We cannot wait to come back and try more of this menu!! Looking forward to our next visit!!! read more

Went here for lunch with the family thinking it was the old restaurant (bay side cafe) witch isn't a problem. Once we were inside we realized things were different in a good way & a bad way very clean that was spot on service was good (average) good was good two meals were perfect two were missing things that were supposed to be in them nothing huge but it is the little things that Annoy people. The biggest complaint it the price I had a chicken salad that was 12.00 & it was really good but not 12.00 worth all in all we liked it it really is a nice little spot doing a good job I won't go out of my way anymore but if I'm it the area I will be back. read more

I love this place! It sits right on the water, with boats moored on the dock nearby. In the nice weather you can sit outside on the deck or on the covered porch, which has window coverings in the cold or bad weather. The food is tasty and has some different offerings, too. The waitstaff was very friendly. I go back every time I'm in the area. BTW, this is a family-owned business, which was located down the road in a nearby town until Superstorm Sandy unloaded ocean water and sand into their building. Have been coming to this place for about 10 years but recently the service has become less than adequate. Even the ducks have left.Horrible horrible horrible stay away from this place. Food was nothing special. The view is ok your staring at a boat dock in the bay. Service is horrible. Especially if you get a waitress by the name of Maria. Shes rude and obnoxious. You would think with the pricey menu the least you could be is friendly. Avoid this place. It use to be the Bayside Diner and if you look up some reviews on that name service was not good either.
