In my opinion, these kind of experience-based services should prioritize offering sublime customer service but this missed the mark for us. It doesn't make a lot of sense to take down our information just for us to have to actively follow up to get confirmation to pick up products we already paid for. I hope this was just a one off experience.

I discovered the place through my friend, Greg Buchold. I had been admiring a Mardi Gras mask and wreath that he had put on his door and he told me about the place. I went looking for Mardi Gras stuff but was blown away by the extensive collection of cookbooks and design books that they sell, all discounted from retail list prices. But there was much much more. We came in during the evening time and stayed till a little past closing to finish our pieces, and Mark was absolutely amazing and so patient in helping us wrap up and clean up. I have been to other pottery painting places in the past, but this place by far has the best selection of items at a super reasonable price range. I found multiple items that I would've wanted to paint and take home. During the time there, Mark made sure that our group was well taken care of, understood the use of the brushes and tools, and shared fun stories and jokes while passing by us every once in a while. I had actually visited on Good Friday and they were closed. I live in Katy and it was a 30 minute drive. I was upset but kind of my fault because you should always call a new place first before visiting. I pulled up and saw no cars and was surely disappointed. I politely got back in my car and decided I would visit another day. Well the following week I decided to visit because I needed to drop shoes off at the shoe shop. I walked in and felt like I was dreaming. It was such a variety of material it was unreal. I am not a seamstress but I have a creative vein for making a masterpiece. I decided to take my time and walk around and observe, look and allow my creative juices to flow. Then an angel appeared CLAUDIA, she was the sweetest girl ever. She answered all of my questions, offered expertise knowledge and helped me sort through many different options. Of course a creative person never makes choices overnight. So I left the store and told her I would return soon. The following week I returned with more choices and the need to make a final decision. When she seen the masterpiece she was floored. She then proceeded to talk about her mother's 50th birthday. It was funny because I am preparing for my 50th birthday and I was sharing with her that I don't mind sharing information with her as well to make her mother's event a success. What impressed me the most is all of the staff are welcoming to all ages and race along with being bilingual. I am always disgusted when I walk into an establishment and no one speaks ENGLISH which is the first language in HOUSTON. They are all nice and helpful CLAUDIA, stood out to me because she helped me personally. She was absolutely amazing. She gave hands on expertise and was very patient and kind. I later received a text message from Michelle, but instead of answering my question, she repeatedly asked who I was. When I followed up, she assumed I was a bot and blocked me. Strange because her texts seemed more bot-like than my own...and she got my number from a voicemail that I left? Anyway since the number matched the one listed on their website, this was both surprising and unprofessional. They cleared out "the party room" and gave us our own space. Also, it's BYOB and Specs is 3 doors down.. so we got a few beverages before beginning. The owner of this establishment, Lottie, is a former teacher and she really enjoys taking the time to help you pick the right colors and learn the techniques and understand the process. As a group we decided to draw names out of a hat and paint a mug for the name we drew. Good times. Each piece was under $20 and we were there for 3 hours painting. Honestly, it's one of the more inexpensive excursions a group of adults can do and being able to take something hand painted home from the day is a beautiful reminder of a moment of time. We never felt rushed to leave and any questions we had were answered immediately and in a way we could understand. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.
