The actual gift shop does not charge an entrance fee. They do advertise and charge people an entrance fee when they have their craft fairs. The gift shop itself is actually a converted house. The employees are very nice and helpful. The Red Potato has a lot of every day gifts as well as seasonal stuff. They have items you probably won't find in the mall. The best deal we found was a Lenox cake/knife set we used for our daughter's wedding. It was a really good price. It's a drive out for most, but it's not a bad drive.

The garden has a beautiful layout with well-maintained displays showcasing a variety of flowers, succulents, shrubs, herbs, pottery, and trees. I've visited this garden a few times now and each time, the staff members have been incredibly friendly and eager to assist with any questions I may have. They've even helped bring my fruit trees out to my car. The service here is excellent, and they seem to have almost everything I need. So far, I've purchased two Sugar Cane Jujube trees, a cherry tree, a purple and red pepper plant, a few Jade plants, and some flowers to enhance my garden.
