Been going to Red Queen's Attic for years, literally in there 15 times a year or more. I've always tolerated Jeff's hot and cold bi-polar ways but yesterday he took it too far. I'd gone over for a quick run through, looking for nothing in particular. 2 items that intrigued me were Christmas items, one downstairs, one upstairs. I gave him the untagged ornament and he was friendly enough and said he would get me a price **half the ornaments in the bowl were not priced. The priced ornamenta were between $6 & $12. So I make my way upstairs, in the large room I find a gumball machine with a Christmas scene inside the globe....no tag. I walk it downstairs to find Jeff for a price and he gave me "a look" and said he knows it was priced because he took it up there yesterday...walks away in a "huff", rather angry manner. He gave me the feeling that he had just accused me of taking the price off. I did NOT! I literally frequent the place quite often and he knows me.....why would I do that. At the register he gave me the price of the gumball machine. Honestly...I wouldn't have bought it for any price at this point. I often go to Downtown Rosenberg for a couple hours when I need a break **I live 5 miles away**. I'm not sure when/if I'll return to Red Queen's Attic and I certainly will never recommend the shop to another person **which I've done so many times in the past** Thrifting/Antiquing is a "break" for me....something I love doing,. My Mom recently moved out to the Richmond/Rosenberg area and we stumbled upon this place on a Saturday afternoon. It is 2 stories and filled with antiques. AMAZING! The staff is super nice and my Mom and I have been back multiple times since our first visit to check out there new inventory - it is always changing. Some of the things to check out: Victorian figurines A random thing I collect :) They even have the lamps for only $15. These would easily cost over $100 in The Heights. Vinyl!!! There were so many great records there. I don't have a record player anymore, but if I did I would have stocked up on some oldies but goodies! Vintage Prints They have lots of vintage botanical and other miscellaneous art prints. Unframed they are a great price, some are even re framed nicely and still under $100. We even learned that some Heights boutique/antique shops come here to shop, then jack up the prices and sell them in The Heights. Save your money! Drive out here and check it out. If you are into antiques you will not be disappointed. There are a few smaller places on this same block so you can make a day out of it. read more

I always interact with Jim. He's the sweetest person ever. I've been going to Red Queens Attic for the past 12+ years and always find something awesome and am greeted with the best customer service. Jim even has remembered my kids and has seen them grow through the years. This is my favorite antique store in Downtown Rosenberg and one of my top favorites of all I've ever been to. This is a great antique store and it is massive in size. The owners of the shop were considerate, helpful, and all around pleasant while we shopped and made a furniture purchase from them. We live a good distance from this shop and will now make it part of our regular route when looking for a specific item. There are a number of shops that surround this shop and the proprietors of them seem to get along and make recommendations according to your needs. I love this place! It's filled with so many treasures that just walking around really fills me with inspiration! I have purchased many jewelry items as well as trinkets from this place and each of them hold a special place. Although some items are a little pricey they are always full of value, there is a good mixture of very inexpensive items that could be purchased to give your home character as well! I am young and often times when I am coming to places such as these the workers do not take me seriously or eyeball me the entire time but I have never had any issue with the lovely staff her. I LOVE this place! I first stumbled on it a couple of years ago and every time I'm in the area I make it a point to go back. And it never disappoints! It's located in a large, two-story historic building and is FULL of neat, groovy antiques that are all listed at really great prices. And every time I go here, the items are different. The staff is super friendly and helpful and everything is in really good condition. There is very eclectic mix of items, a mix of old and new, and each room seems to have a different theme. And be sure to not miss the upstairs! This time around, I left with a super groovy green floral carpet bag that could've easily been sold for $50-$60 elsewhere and I only paid $20! And my coworker left with a beautiful large cushion that I thought would've been a minimum of $60 and she only paid $20! Definitely a must see place. read more

Jim's wife was going to hold a table for us for a day but I was soon approached by Jim who said otherwise. Jim was rude and did not show any compassion in talking to us. One of my favorite antique shops in the Houston area. It's huge, and has something for almost everyone. This place provides ample material for many hours of browsing. It's a good place to find items for one's own home, or gifts for people who appreciate vintage items and collectibles. You are reading the best advice that you will ever get for free. Hawthorne's Clocks is a part of Red Queen's Attic. The name is stenciled on the window and a metal sign hangs down from the building as you walk down the sidewalk. Do yourself the biggest favor and don't buy or have your clock repaired at Hawthorne's Clocks. We previously purchased an antique German Grandmother Clock from Dan Hawthorne. After buying our clock it didn't work. We have taken it back repeatedly for subsequent repairs... still not running. He has talked to me over the phone several times; when we called him, he suggested that I pull out the clock works and he could teach me how to repair my clock over the phone. (As if I am a clock master.) Mr. Hawthorne will not stand behind the clocks he sells. His warranty is worthless. Your clock will be in his shop and the warranty time just ticks away. When the warranty time expires you are SOL. He apparently only comes in for a 1/2 Saturdays on occasions. Yesterday, after 3 months of having our clock in his shop for repair again, we went and picked up our clock. He told us he never even looked at our clock in 3 months; keep in mind this clock was purchased from him. What do you think that he would do with your clock if you hadn't purchased it from him? When we would call to check on the clock status, he wouldn't even return our calls. ( We would call on the date that he asked us to call for a status update; seems like he should have been calling us.) We will now have to spend $300 -$500 at another clock shop to have it repaired. I repeat, buyer beware and don't do business here. My wife was in tears over this business matter; I had purchased this clock for her Mother's Day. Our experience was that you could look at one of his clocks for sale and when you noticed something is wrong, he would say, "Oh, that is just a tweak and can be fixed in an hour". You can go back in to see the same clock in another two months and the same "tweak" still needs to be done. Why would a clock owner have a clock in their shop knowing full well that it needs a "tweak", and you aren't hardly ever around if someone comes in to buy the clock? Its just bad business. As mentioned, Dan Hawthorne wouldn't even return our calls to give us a status update. We finally talked to one of the owner's of Red Queen's Attic who was nice enough to intervene and compel Dan Hawthorne of Hawthorn's Clocks just to return the clock to us in a unrepaired condition, inasmuch as it appears that he is not making any repairs to clocks now. He has taken a job at Amazon and now apparently doesn't have the time or energy to repair his customer's clocks. We have really been done in by this man; I repeat, as loud as I can to you, don't do business with Hawthorne Clocks. I suggested to the owner of Red Queen that I spoke to, that she should never, ever, allow Dan Hawthorne to do his customers like this again. Hopefully, you have the ideal, the worst business experience ever. read more

If you're purchasing China for a bride to be or just yourself I highly recommend shopping here first. With prices cheaper than Amazon and items in like new condition, you are sure to find at least 1 or 2 pieces you will want to take home. This place is more for those that just want an old looking thing without doing the work, and that's fine but not everybody's idea of "antiquing". Oh my, I'm from Colorado and have been antique shopping from there to Houston in the past few months. This store has so much to see and the prices are really reasonable. I was at a few other stores on the same street and when comparing prices found the competition to be very high at the other stores. I found some gorgeous ladder back chairs, plus a wonderful mirror and was very satisfied at the prices. I had been looking far and wide for the type chairs I found, and was surprised at the quality and condition of the chairs, and that they were items I hadn't found in any other store. Jim helped me load the items into my car. Everyone that helped me was wonderful Can't recommend this place enough for volume and prices. Its worth the 30 minute drive from Houston, as I can't find anything like this close to me! And yes, for all those that are concerned about masks, everyone there wore one, and the sign was posted that all customers were required. I took my daughter shopping for props for her high school's UIL contest play on Saturday, and we went to Red Queen's Attic. What a treasure-trove!!! This store is huge, and stuffed with antiques, collectibles and one-of-a-kind treasures. AND they are the nicest people you could ever wish to do business with. When they heard what my daughter was doing, they went out of their way to help her find what she needed, and when we found some things the school could not afford to buy, THEY LET US BORROW THEM!!!
