Krafted Kup is one of those neighborhood gems that instantly makes you feel at home. Right by Vassar, it's the perfect cozy spot to post up with your laptop for a study session, catch up on work, or just chat with a friend over a great cup of coffee. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming -- a mix of students, locals, and regulars who all seem to know it's the place to be. The coffee selection is fantastic with lots of variety -- from perfectly pulled espressos to fun seasonal specials. I also really appreciate that the food here goes beyond the basics; everything I've tried has been fresh and satisfying, making it a great option for breakfast or lunch. And shoutout to their loyalty program -- the stamp card is such a nice touch! It's one of those little things that makes you look forward to coming back again and again. Whether you're in need of caffeine, comfort, or a cozy place to get things done, Krafted Kup never disappoints. A true Poughkeepsie staple!

2.8/5 I love a lot of their pastries here! It feels like I'm getting the quality of a nice bakery at a comfortable place. I recommend the cruffin the most if you're a fan of dulche de leche. It has lots of thin flaky layers and a pleasantly sticky center! Today I got the caramelized croissant, which was a bit too doughy and lacked any buttery flakiness. It tasted more like a sugary donut... My main issue here is the mediocre quality of the coffee and at times their customer service, which prevents me from coming here often. Many times when I've been here, the baristas have a cold and univiting attitude which usually wouldn't bother me if I wasn't paying as much as I do. Their iced lattes taste a bit watered down, which my peers often agree with. Their hot drinks are okay! However, their espresso in general lacks much flavor and is quite pricey. I do not recommend their matcha if you like the taste of real matcha either. I would recommend their chai but there's always some leftover coacoa powder in it everytime I order it...not sure why? Overall, unless I'm getting their tasty pastries I'm often left disappointed.

Nice set up with lots of indoor seating and a few tables outside. Easy ordering with a very detailed listing of coffee choices and different preparations. They have flavored syrup and different milks and substitutes. There is a case with pastries both sweet and savory. They were able to make my iced coffee decaf and it was not watered down. Average pricing for a 16 oz iced coffee.

Great customer service. I appreciate that they remember my name. Maybe I go too much when i'm in town but I notice they know some people by name and that's cool with the amount of people who come in and out throughout the day. The location is super convenient to Vassar College, the new hotel, other restaurants, shops, and laundromat. I was introduced to the space by a familiar member. It's always been a convenient place and the consistency after all this time is much appreciated. From recommendations that I actually like whether a added flavor to my drink or trying something new. It's accessible, has bathrooms, and good space to take your laptop to work, study have a meeting, w/e. You see a lil of everything in there. The cinnamon roles are amazing! Great place to visit individually or a group and know there will be something for everyone to enjoy. When it's nice out the outdoor seating in the front or the side in the open space is also really nice. Thanks for creating a space that's welcoming!

When a coffee place puts the word craft right in their name, I expect a craft coffee level experience. That and the good overall Yelp score drew me into the Crafted Kup while I was recently visiting the Hudson Valley area. The coffee, however, was not better than average. It had more of a Starbucks flavor profile than the Single Origins I prefer. It had a slight ashy flavor. It didn't fit my definition of craft coffee and I wouldn't return for the coffee. I ordered an Everything Bagel with plain cream cheese for my son. He volunteered that "it was not the best." I took a bite. And he was right. It was kind of heavy and lacked a pleasing texture, and the everything seasoning did not adequately coat the top. The cream cheese wasn't my favorite either. I also ordered a loaded oatmeal for my wife. Although I didn't try it and can't factor it into my review, she said she liked it. The case of pastries et al also looked pretty good. Crafted Kup has both inside and outside seating. Service was fine. One note on the store layout, the location of the place where you get lids, cream, sugar and other things that you would add to your coffee creates an awkward experience. After you order, you have to cross back through the line to get to the lid, et al area. Then you have to cross through the line again to exit out one of the doors and/or to get your food when it is ready. I saw this play out three different times. It would make more sense to have the lids, et al near the door so there is more of a flow. Given the overall Yelp rating, I'm sure Crafted Kup is good at some other things, but my experience was 3 Stars.

Was visiting Vassar College in upstate NY and stumbled upon this perfectly fitting, cute and quirky cafe not too far from campus. This spot looks like the perfect place to study, grab a quick bite, and catch up with friends --- basically everything a college student could want. For a local college town cafe, this place is pretty good !! Everyone was super friendly and there is plenty of seating with spacious tables to get work done. They also have free wifi which is a huge plus. I tried a few things here including the egg sandwich on a croissant, the chocolate croissant, and their famous dulce de leche croissant/ muffin hybrid. The Croissant/ muffin creation was definitely my favorite! The pastry is shaped like a muffin but has the flaky, fluffy texture of a croissant and is stuffed with a generous amount of creamy ducle de leche caramel. So so yummy! I also enjoyed my egg sandwich but I wish the cheese was melted more. The croissant was also good but just a standard bakery croissant. Overall great experience here!

Adjacent to Vassar College campus. Atmosphere is pleasant and straightforward - hardwood floors, dark tables, pleasant staff. Unmemorable decor, but ample seating for 2 to 8 for a quick bite or a hot beverage. The menu is limited, but most people will probably find it sufficient for a casual get together. My friend ordered a caramel apple scone and latte. My food restrictions were somewhat problematic. Despite asking for the avocado toast with no allium, ( onion, garlic, scallion, etc.. ) and being assured that it would not be a problem.($11.50), my meal was served with a vinaigrette dressing that contained one or both. Not wanting to risk cross-contamination, I sent it back without touching it. Counter staff told me that the locks on sour bread, toast with cream cheese, cucumber and tomato had capers, which did not contain onion or garlic. ($11.50 also) so since I had already paid the bill and tip, I selected that one. Was it worth $11.50? Not really but the toast was very pleasant, the bread, crusty and ample amount of both cream cheese and lox. The lack of attention to detail and potential for reaction to allergens loses them two stars. Would I return again for a casual cup of tea or coffee? Yes. Parking on street is usually ample and no meter necessary.

I told you I'd be back and here I am. Back again and very soon, I might add. This has become one of our "spots" and I'm not even mad about it. It's for good reason. This time around I had an iced mocha and the coffee is really smooth. I'm picky when it comes to coffee. It's hard to make me happy because I don't like anything too bitter or burnt. BUT this coffee was perfect and tasted freshly brewed. I have to admit that one of my favorite parts is being able to grab a gluten free treat with my beverage. I wish this was more common at other coffee shops because us gluten free customers like to enjoy something sweet with our coffees too! The treat was soft, sweet and tasty. Great way to start off my day.

Everything bagel (scooped) with egg and onions. Plus a flight!

I mentioned this cute little town because it's just one of the little niches along the Hudson river that makes a perfect little day trip. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: really quaint storefront, and first impression.Enter through the cafe door which also functions as a retail shop for handmade objects like soaps, etc. The gifts have an upscale vibe-worth a trip back. We had about 15 minutes to kill before attending a Yelp event across The Street so we opted to take the chill off by purchasing a hot beverage at Norma's. The staff is pretty laid-back, friendly, but laid-back. If you're in a hurry, I'm not sure if this would work. The hot and cold beverages are very straightforward and you can get some vegan options here. There were two behind the counter, but I felt they were a little engaged in their personal banter and we're not that attentive. Not a real sense of urgency or purpose. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but once they did give us their full attention, we let them know that we were waiting for an event across the street and didn't have a lot of time. They asked us if we'd like to sit down with our beverage and we opted to do so since it was pretty cold outside. We ordered two hot chocolate And two homemade biscuits. They gave us a table number stanchion for the table and let us know they would be bringing it to us. We did not need to wait. We took the three steps down to the main dining area, where we were pleasantly surprised that they were having a live event - in this case it was a storytelling event. There was a table available for the two of us so we sat down and quickly realized that the table was so off-balance that it post a potential safety hazard. When I placed my hot chocolate down and rested my wrist, the entire table tilted forward toward me. This is an easy thing to fix, but my guess is that it's been this way for a really long time. That's unfortunate. All that aside, the room was really cozy and had a lot of character - lots of two top and four top tables to provide a very intimate setting with each one having a good view of the small stage Minutes went by and there was no biscuit delivered. More minutes went by and we began to wonder if they had forgotten. I guess is that they weren't making the biscuits from scratch so most likely they did forget. Since we had already paid for everything with a pretty generous tip, we waited a a few more minutes. Time ran out when we noticed that the event attendees were lining up across the street. That's something we could see from the really great big windows that faced Main Street. Reluctantly, my sister and I got up from the table and headed to the counter where we had made the order. We let them know that we needed to go and asked if the biscuits were ready. They seemed perplexed at first and then a lightbulb moment. Yes. I suspect they did forget the order. I wouldn't bother so much but two biscuits and two hot chocolates. It was about $20 plus tip so when they recognized that the biscuits were still missing, they asked if we would like to take them to go. The lack of awareness was disappointing because they were clearly not busy with anything else A minute or two later, they emerged from the kitchen with a small bag, presumably containing the two biscuits. Service was definitely lacking, particularly for what is a bit of a higher priced venue. Maybe we caught them on an off night but my sense is that laid back attitude is built in to the business model. Would I return to Norma's? I'm not sure. The hot chocolate was good, not from a mix, but would it bring me back? I'll let you know.
