It was a nice beachy feeling restaurant. I was there for my birthday with family and friends. The service by Keke was good. The food was amazing. We ordered from the lunch special, which had a good choice. Will definitely be back again. read more

3-Stars but I would visit again. We visited Williamsburg for our anniversary and wanted to watch the game and have some drinks on our last evening there. We were seated promptly. Our waitress Aliana was great! She knew the menu well and explained everything to us. Service: 5-stars I ordered the margarita flight and the best margarita was the raspberry margarita so I also ordered a raspberry margarita after I finished the flight. My husband ordered two of the bourbon punch. He really enjoyed that drink. Drinks: 3.5-stars The chips with salsa and queso was okay. For dinner I ordered the Carolina bbq sandwich with truffle Parmesan fries. Being from North Carolina we have Eastern North Carolina barbecue which is chopped pork with vinegar & red pepper; and western NC barbecue/South Carolina barbecue which is pulled pork with barbecue sauce. This barbecue was more like western NC/SC barbecue. It was kind of dry. The fries were good. My husband had the house smoked barbecue plate which included beef brisket pulled pork barbecue and for smoke wings with baked beans and coleslaw. The wings were pretty bad. They tasted like liquid smoke was poured on them. Overall, the meal was just okay. Food: 3-stars Overall, would I go back? Yes. The service was wonderful, the outside area was great, and being out of town but finding a place to drink and watch a game is nice. I would order something different to eat if we were in town again. The food issue was our fault for ordering bbq in Virginia. Lol! Give them a try. read more

We saw this place on the Upside app for 8% back and decided to stop. The reviews were good, and the lot was nearly full, a good omen! Seated right away, and the drinks were nearly immediate. The menu is decent sized for the restaurant. They also have an extensive drink list, sorry, did not look at, but were advised they support the local beer industry. Our server, Morgan, gave us her on the spot recommendations. She is a valuable asset to this business and right about crowd pleasers. My husband ordered the Black and Blue burger, a handmade 7oz blend of meats, iron skillet fried fresh meat. The blue cheese was amazing! It came with a side, and he chose the baked beans, a treat. I chose the smoked chicken wings (6) with a BBQ dry rub. This rub had a touch of sweetness and a smoky flavor, pure delight. Served with your choice of ranch or blue cheese. They are smoked on-site outback. Several seasonings are available on the menu. This restaurant has something called a Bottoms Up Pizza, which turns out to be a regular pizza. It is just the name of the franchise. The manager, Jason, came by and talked to us extensively. He loves his job here and has been on-site for 4 years. Prices are decent, and serving sizes were just right. read more

I downloading this app just for this review...The experience was misleading as a whole. The funnel cake pancake was a 4/10 pancake that didn't even taste like funnel cake or have any funnel cake features. The service was sub par and the food took an extremely long time for what I got. The portions were also measly. The waitress also seemed to have an attitude when I mentioned the pancakes were misleading. Highly would recommend avoiding this place and finding another option. I will definitely be doing so. read more

We found Craft 31 before COVID and on several visits were delighted. Excellent tap list, great wait staff, delicious food, wonderful atmosphere. We visit Williamsburg several times each year, but we couldn't remember the name nor location for several years so we were delighted when we stumbled across it again this weekend. Stopped by Friday, the wait was an hour so we put in an Opentable reservation for Saturday night for the patio, since we had our 18# dog with us. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience. Service: Our waitress, Brittnee, was very kind and attentive. However, the waitress serving the table behind us was friends with folks at that table, and she spent no less than 25 minutes hanging out and chatting at the table. She was easily overheard sharing stories of how she'd been fired from another service job for drinking and telling off customers. Moreover, the volume level and vulgar language from the party in general was unacceptable given that there were several small children nearby. I had to get up and ask them to tone it down, making direct eye contact with the waitress. She said nothing and continued on chatting after I walked away. Atmosphere: as do many establishments in Williamsburg, Craft 31 accommodates dogs on their porch. They even have a sign out front that says "well behaved dogs welcome." However, several customers took far too much liberty with this. One mid-sized dog barked almost non-stop and got into it with other dogs twice. Another customer walked in with three 80# labradoodles, and were inexplicably seated right in the center of the patio. It forced customers and wait staff to reroute around them, which was made worse by the fact that the owner let themselves feel right at home; for example, one sat up with its head above table level at a NEIGHBORING table. It was obviously awkward for the neighboring family, and would have been funny were it not so rude. Food - mostly good. Fried Oreos were awesome. I wish the pizza crust was more Neapolitan style, but it as thick and bready in the center. Also, the burger we asked for as medium well but was rare. Anyway, I can understand a few kitchen misses and that sometimes dogs get rowdy, but the sum total of the experience sent a message that said "our front-of-house management lacks control and professionalism, dine at your own risk." I remember saying out loud to myself before dessert arrived that I'd never come back. Very disappointing. read more

We came to Craft 31 for the first time this evening - I have mixed feelings. The Good: - Drinks: Marg Flight was wonderful. It was nice to get a little sample of each one. It was also presented well. - Ambiance: the restaurant was clean and tidy. We sat over on the bar side of the house and even there it was clean and well maintained. - Hostess staff: the ladies at the front were very friendly and quick to get us seated. The Not-So-Good: - Wait Staff: our waitress was not personable at all, nor did she provide any recommendations when asked for her opinion on the drink menu. She did not check on us during our time there other than when she was bringing our drinks or food. - Service Time: the service was *painfully* slow. It took well over an hour (pushing and hour and a half) to receive our drinks (Marg Flight and beer on tap) and a half pound of (average) steamed shrimp. Not once did our waitress come over and give a status update from the kitchen. It was not particularly busy when we walked in, and they seemed to be pretty well staffed. All-in-All: we will be back to sit at the bar. I don't think we will come with intentions on eating dinner, but the bar selection would be worth another visit. read more

I loved this spot for brunch! This was a great find. It's so cute and well decorated inside! A true classy coastal Hamptons vibe with lots of windows and natural light and airy wallpaper and pretty nautical light fixtures. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. She checked on us often but wasn't too overwhelming and in our face. We had a mixture of items around the table but I chose to create my own 3-egg omelet with 4 mix-ins add cheese: mushrooms, peppers, onions and spinach. It was served with choice of a side and bread. I chose wheat toast and fruit but they also had cheesy grits, potatoes and a range of breads like mini croissants and English muffins. My boyfriend went simple and chose an egg breakfast wit eggs cooked any way you like, a meat choice, a side choice, and toast. It was filling and delicious and he loved it and cleaned his plate (rare for him). My friend chose the veggie omelette with tons of mix ins - hers had broccoli and asparagus if I remember correctly but, unlike mine, no mushrooms. She also had a selection of side and bread (toast). Her husband chose the funnel cake pancakes with a side and meat. His was huge, a very large portion, he couldn't finish all the pancakes and he's a big guy. I like how they have sprinkles on the table you can mix in your coffee or on top of pancakes. Very cute. All our portions were large and generous and the coffee and hot tea with cream was very good. I saw the lunch/dinner menu and liked what I saw as well. This is a delicious spot and one I'll come back to next time I'm in the area without hesitation. read more

We have enjoyed multiple visits here with family and friends to celebrate different events. Solid selection of items from burgers to pizza to other sandwiches and salads. Great little craft bar. Food was solid. Loved our fresh seafood. My wife got the margarita flight, which she loved.

Came here base on a recommendation..Was not disappointed. They have a really nice gluten free menu. We got wings (which were excellent!) burgers and pizza. Rest of the group got chicken salad, pizza, beer and no one complained. They do serve flights of beer where you allow them to pre-choose or you choose your self. Quite a few beers/wine to choose from. NOTE: when coming with a large party (more then 4-5) make reservations. read more

Four of us had reservations here at 6 pm on a Saturday evening. We were seated immediately when we arrived. There is a fair amount of parking but the lot is kind of small. However, we were able to find parking with no issues. We were seated at a table in the middle of the main eating area with booths around the perimeter. To be totally honest, the tables are to small for 4 people. When we had drinks, entrees, salads and pizza- we were pushing everything to the edges. The had a nice list of beers that ranged from lagers, to IPAs to stouts. Something for everyone! We got chips with pimento cheese and breadsticks with mozzarella cheese over them for an appetizer. The breadsticks were absolutely fantastic!! We each got a crunch salad. This is one of the freshest salads I have ever had and it is a huge salad. None of us could finish... if you are with someone that you can share with, you will both have plenty. For entrees, we had we had fish and chips dinners and a pizza. Both were excellent! This place give a lot of food for the money! The only negative is that the acoustics in there are not very good. There was a very loud and obnoxious dinner in the corner booth. She was annoying and it echoed badly in the room. Some people just have no manners or self awareness. This is a great place and there were several things on the menu that I would love to go back and try.... shrimp and grits, jambalaya, and they are known for their burgers. I highly recommend a reservation! Also, there is outdoor seating as well! Very cool place. read more

It is really hard to give a restaurant who's food was actually decent a 2 star rating. We (my wife, 2 year old daughter, and myself) were first time customers traveling through the area for lunch. The inside was clean and looked inviting. We were told that there was a 30 minute wait, which we said was no problem! We were seated within that time frame, and the host asked if we needed a high chair, to which we said yes. He placed the crayons down on the table and didn't come back. After 10 minutes I went to find him and he said he had forgotten. No big deal. Our waitress came and we placed an appetizer and drink order while we excitedly looked at the menu. She returned with the margarita flight for my wife who was very happy with it. We placed our order for 2 burgers, the lone star and the bleu cheese burger and upgraded our sides to the truffle fries. We also ordered the kids Mac and cheese. 20 or so minutes passed and a different waitress brought out our appetizer. On one plate. We asked for some plates so we could divide it up and share. She never came back. After another 10 minutes, my wife found the original host and asked if he could get us some plates. Then our original waitress came to our table and said "oh, good, I was looking for your appetizer." Almost 1 hour and 20 minutes after we placed our order for food, as I was getting up to cancel our order, the food came around the corner. We were never updated on why the food was taking so long. As we had plans and now could no longer sit and enjoy the meal, I asked for boxes and the check. She just said sure and left. While we waited, we wanted to try and let our 2 year old daughter get a little of her Mac and cheese before we left. I am lucky I took a bite first because it was boiling hot. I had to spit it out. When we stirred it, steam rose like a chimney. The waitress returned. I paid and told her I was unhappy about the wait and not being able to enjoy the food. She just said "yeah, sorry, sometimes they get backed up on Sundays." The margarita and appetizer were delicious. The reheated food 6 hours later was okay, but I imagine would have been extremely good fresh. I didn't even get to take a picture of the burgers because we were rushing out the door. We spent over2 hours and $85 for a lunch experience we didn't even get to enjoy. So disappointed. read more

We made reservations as were were planning to come on a Friday night. Out first time visiting and didn't know what to expect. We were promptly seated but it took a LONG time to be acknowledged. So much so that we stopped someone and asked for service. We almost left, but not to long after that we were assisted. Our food was delicious! We had the smoked sweet and sticky wings as an appetizer. I had the lamb burger which was ridiculously good! My bf had the oyster entre with sweet potato fried which was equally delicious! We both had a margarita flight which was pretty good. Not mind blowing but really cute. After I had the sycamore something beer. It was really good and sweet. I usually like lagers, this was sweeter and light. My bf had John Daly which was good also. read more

We are locals. We came to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. After placing our order we waited 45 minutes before it arrived. Nice restaurant, the Chesapeake pizza was really good. Good drink menu, and fast service.

Meh. Mediocre food. Place has gone downhill. Too bad because there is not much on that side of town.

I want to give 5 stars because the atmosphere, wait staff, food, and drinks were great. The only problem we had were some of the oysters were not good, which was disappointing because we love oysters. But, we will be back and often! Watered down drinks and lukewarm food. The ambiance was good and our server attentive, but I've never had such mediocre food in a place that is desperately trying to be more than just a chain restaurant, which is what it felt like. First time coming here and we really enjoyed ourselves. Sat outside since it was a beautiful day out. Server was very nice! Although the food came out super slow, everything else was great! The food was good, however the service was slower that it typically is, probably for a couple of issues. Ahhhhhhh....back to an old familiar 'face' after over a year of regular trips to the area. I'm sure like all restaurants, Covid had its effect on this place. We happened to be traveling through the area in the late evening on a Saturday and decided to stop in for old time's sake. TA DA! In a town where it seems every place closes early - even on the weekends and especially during the pandemic - C31 was open till 10PM (!!) and welcomed us in just before closing. And the place was decently hopping for Williamsburg at 930PM. Good to see that this place seems to have survived the Covid restaurant industry shutdown and has come out the other end, fingers crossed. We loved this place for its coziness, charm, great food and service and GREAT craft beer (DUH!) and cocktail selections. And the fact that it was open late. Nothing has changed! Kudos to C31 for implementing and enforcing safe Covid practices. The inside was immaculate, air was circulating and not stale/stuffy. Masks on patrons when not at their table and servers all the time, every other table left vacant and GREAT outdoor seating (see my pic). I spotted what looked to be the manager with mask, gloves and cleaning supplies in hand - very visible and working hard. The food was AMAZING. One of us had the dozen oyster appetizer - as a meal. No issue - check out the size of the platter! And beautifully plated - like a work of art! Another had the fried shrimp platter - came piping hot out of the fryer - crispy, crunchy coating on HUGE shrimps. The side of coleslaw was creamy and fresh - a nice compliment to the dish. And, but of COURSE, a fried shrimp platter ain't a platter without the fries! YUM. My mouth is watering right now just describing it! The final person in our party of 3 had the Dill Fried Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Again, delish - piping hot out of the fryer, crispy crunchy coating yet juicy and tender inside served on a fresh bun. The fries, which we upgraded to parm fries, were hot and delicious. As is our SOP, we ask for fries cooked well done/crispy and they didn't disappoint. The evening was a nice brief layover in a town we still love and think fondly of. And in this "unprecedented" (overused term, I know - but aptly relevant) time, the place felt like we went home again. Ahhhhhh... So glad C31 continues to thrive. Even pre-Covid, this was a place to go to when you were tired of frequenting the overpriced CW pubs and joints that came and went or the ones that (still) think they can overcharge for what they serve because they feel entitled to (oh you know who you are!). C31 has kept it fresh and fun - a huge menu of awesomeness, knows how to treat their customers right and doesn't rest on their laurels. An absolute must try!! It WILL become your new favorite go-to! read more

This place was PHENOMENAL!!!! I suggest making a reservation! We went on a Saturday night after a long bike ride and the wait was an HOUR! We did find seats at the bar though so we sat there! We were sooooo glad we stayed!!!! Everything they brought out looked amazing! I'm a Jersey girl and very particular about my pizza, but even that looked incredible!!!! I ended up going with a Margarita Flight and a brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries - absolutely go WITH the glaze!!!! Best sweet potato fries I've EVER had!!!!! Hubs had the Irish burger which he said was fantastic!!!! He also went with the Parmesan truffle fries (which they did bring me too by mistake). I tried his and they were good but I was definitely happy I had them bring me the correct fry order Would absolutely recommend this place and would definitely go back if we're ever in this area again! read more

Been coming here since it opened, and this place has gone distinctly downhill. Confused and disorganized hosting to begin with. They obviously are short staffed, and the current kitchen staff are unable to handle the menu. My "medium pink" burger came out as a charcoal briquette. My Grubbing Buddies and I had a wonderful lunch over the Father's Day weekend. We traveled outside our comfort zone to Williamsburg, Virginia, to try out our buddies' recommended dinner spot, however, this time for lunch. The place wasn't difficult to find, but you can pass right by it from the road taken. Craft 31 had a relaxed and pleasant feel to it as you walk in. Although there was a nice crowd when we arrived, we were quickly seated in our booth and our waitress, Kelly, had a cheerful air about her. While I had already researched the menu before arriving, I knew what I wanted. My buddies, however, had to take a little time to review the menu. I chose the dozen raw oysters as an appetizer and the fish and chips, served with fries and coleslaw (which needed more flavor) as my entree. Collectively, my buddies had the often-requested Reuben sandwich, fried Virginia oysters, a side order of Caesar salad, and finally a tasty Craft 31 burger with homemade potato chips. Because of the politeness and welcoming attitude of our waitress and a better than great tasting meal, I believe we will return soon for another good time. read more

I had to stop by the outlets earlier in the day and was feeling on the edge of sanity after dealing with the atrocious holiday crowds there, so I turned to Yelp for a chill craft beer bar rec. A quick skim of Craft 31's website and I was sold. It's located in an area called Strawberry Cove and is set off a bit from the road. Fortunately, the sign is large so I knew I was at the right restaurant. I arrived around 1 pm and the parking lot was fairly full, so when I was greeted at the host station, I said I'd sit at the bar. The hostess said it was no big deal if I changed my mind and wanted table service. As someone who often dines alone lately, I really really appreciated that comment. But I still sat at the bar, and I'm glad I did! Neil was definitely the friendliest bartender I've encountered in a long time (and from my home state, too). He explained the food/drinks menus in full detail and was just all around very chatty and personable. For beer, their menu is always rotating. The menu labels them by style, which made it easy for me to zero in on the one sour available (Mad Fox, berliner weisse) and a pumpkin saison. Even better? They offer 5-ounce pours...and for cheap! Love that. I never really like to drink in bulk and can't stand when I get stuck with a pint of mediocre suds. You can also BYO 32/64-ounce growler for a fill or they sell their own. As for food, there are plenty of options you'd expect to see at a beer-focused bar...but with an inventive spin. I chose to build my own 12" pizza with a white cheese base, chicken, and bacon. It didn't take too long to come out cooked perfectly. Definitely a nice complement to the drinks! I boxed up half of it, so it was really two meals in one. I'll definitely pop back in the next time I'm in Williamsburg. My only suggestion would be to add more sours to the beer list! read more

Went recently for dinner and stumbled upon this place here on Yelp. I was searching for places with a patio and outdoor seating. Patio was spaced enough that everyone is safely distanced and the venue was nice. They didn't seem too busy and because we chose to sit on the patio where there is no roof, there was no wait. There is an option for a roof outside but it was gorgeous weather. Service was attentive and never had to worry about my glass being empty, which is big in my opinion. Also the food was very good and reasonably priced as you would probably anticipate for similar restaurants. I will say, the portions for the kids menu Mac and cheese I ordered for my daughter was A LOT and was really good. I could have ordered it myself and been satisfied. Check this place out! read more
