    Steak tips for build-own-breakfast
    kristin c.

Went for a breakfast and a dinner during our long drive. We liked the convenience since near the NJ Turnpike, good quick meals at good prices. I added steak tips to a dinner meal for about $6. Excellent service at this location. From the merchandise store employees to the waitstaff who were very attentive and pleasant. I had an issue with my order and it was replaced right away and comped too. I have their app and was able to use "pegs" for complimentary drinks, and used an email offer for % off. Yes to discounts of course!

Nashville Hot Chicken (surprise not a sandwhich)

Food was not the best to say the least I got the Nashville hot chicken and the chicken was super oily and fatty and the sides (fries and Mac&Cheese) were small portions and tasted terribly so. Not all negatives the ambiance is great giving a cozy feel and our server Patrick was a rock star unfortunately the food fell flat and ended up just leaving after a bite or two. Stick with the breakfast items if you come here and it'll be awhile till I provide my commerce here again.

Not gonna lie with all 29 years of my life and the many times I've been to Cracker Barrel. This was the best experience I've ever had with our server named SCOTTY! I would give him 5 stars myself. Cheerful and checked on us. I really appreciate the service along with the fresh and fast food. Not a single problem! Thank you so much Scotty. I hope to get you every time

I came to Cracker Barrel with my mother and her friend and my girlfriend for lunch. Lunch is a special time I get to spend with my mother. Let's talk about the food first off let me start with the silverware. My mother's silverware was filthy and our waitress was nowhere to be found luckily Daniel took care of it, he was the real rockstar of the day. Our wait time for simple pancakes was 45 mins... Let's get back to the food. My mother ordered pecan pancakes which came super burnt and she never got her pecan syrup and she is allergic to eggs which there was a piece of egg on her plate with her bacon. My mom ate the pancakes but couldn't finish them and she threw up in the bathroom after eating. It wasn't just her because I ate my pancakes as well and felt nauseous afterwords but mine weren't as badly burnt as hers. My scrambled eggs were drippy and runny which made me not want them at all. My sausage looked uncooked, it looked like it was still alive and tasted nasty, I didn't eat it. My girlfriend's meal had the same problems and my mom's friend never got his toast as well. Everything was a mess and the waitress was nowhere to be found like she was avoiding us, my mom had to call over Daniel and he was a total rockstar trying his best to make it a great experience. He should get a raise because he tried his best to make our experience better. We called over the manager Lee who was friendly and was shocked at hearing about our experience. He is aware of the issues and is going to make sure it doesn't happen again. He comped our meal and made it right and asked us to come back again next time. I will come back in the future thanks to the manager and the rockstar server Daniel who tried to make things better. I hope next time will be a better experience as I love Cracker Barrel and me and my family enjoy coming here. When I come back in the future I'll review it again and hopefully it will be a much better experience.

Now I get it! I never understood the hype about Cracker Barrel because I hadn't experienced it. Now that I have.... Ohhhhh I see and understand the hype. The food was good, portions were generous, service was good and the cost was beyond reasonable. I went with the steak, eggs whites and hash browns. It was sooooo good. I didn't need to add or take away anything! Our table was nice and cozy. Off to the side but still in the thick of the action. I'll definitely add Cracker Barrel to all of my roadtrip itineraries.

I've been here a while ago. Thought this would be a good choice to take mom on a Sat afternoon. The ambiance is always a southern restaurant kinda place to me. Wooden furniture throughout. Spacious seating between customers. I didn't feel like i was seating up on anyone. Mom had the Apple French toast. It looked good on the menu photo. It was not as good looking on the plate. She took a couple of bites and told it taste like it was burnt. When I turned it over, it was. The manager was kind enough to remove it from the check and allowed mom to get 5 wings and mash potatoes to go. I had the chicken pot pie. And that, I can say, was really good. It's really, really good. Flaky thin crust on top of chunks of chicken and veggies and tasty gravy. I almost ordered a second one to go. It was that good. A side of fried sweet apples had the southern flavor. The sweet tea was not so sweet. But overall, it was not too bad an experience. Would try this place again.

But the service that is amazing and all the smiling staff here make up for anything that I don't see on the menu. The place is really well put together and is a very handsome bar it's mostly very wooden and heavy duty. The ambience is something for everyone on the TV or you can just chitchat. They even have this little side room that is nice but beware and bring a coat or a sweater cause it does get chilly in there. They're always seems like a really great group of people there and our favorite waitress is KB/Kristen. She is truly amazing and very attentive, but not annoying. We love their chicken fajitas and steak fajitas, the Cheesesteaks are delish! But My Newest Favorite for the Moment..... is the "We Jammin Burger". It has bacon onion Jam on it and it is amazing! I didn't think that I would like it as Much as I do! But I Realllllllly Do! I'm not really a burger fan... like my husband Is, But THIS BURGER..... has been a Game changer for Me. Warning: Make room in your fridge... because You will definitely bring leftovers home. This meal can feed a family of 4 Easily!! Their Cajun quesadilla is delicious and it does have a nice little zing. Their traditional wings are amazing and their beef stew is delicious and very hearty. We have tried many of their specialties. The Hail Mary is a delicious Caesar salad on top of chicken cutlets and their Broccoli Chicken Cheesesteak is amazing. I recommend you get it pressed on the grill and that way it won't fall out as you bite each delicious bite. I would say 80 to 90% of the visits that we have had at this amazing establishment. We always bring home leftovers. So be aware that you were going to have lunch for tomorrow. You will get to the point where you will just think of something to eat that they have on their menu and your mouth will just start to drool. We definitely recommend going. I'm not a huge drinker so I really can't say much as for their drinks but everyone there seems very happy and the portions are huge. I definitely say try it, what's the worst that happens you have leftovers for the next day or two lol It is my husband and my favorite new place that's been around forever Hey, maybe we'll see you there

The portion sizes were generous; both my burger and the Cheesesteak Deluxe were large enough that we brought leftovers home from both entrées. Cons: Unfortunately, the drinks were not good. I ordered a Downeast Cider on tap and it tasted like the line may not have been cleaned recently. My companion ordered a cosmopolitan that was essentially undrinkable--extremely strong and not well balanced. We later learned the bartender is new, so hopefully that improves with experience. The wings were also served cold, and the Jammin' burger came out without the bacon jam that's supposed to be a key part of the dish. The restaurant itself is also very tight quarters. If you prefer more personal space or feel more comfortable in places where it's easy to move around or exit quickly, this may not be the best spot for you. Overall: The staff was very attentive and clearly tried to make things right after several mistakes occurred. They comped our soda, appetizer, and dessert, which we appreciated. However, given the number of issues during one visit, I'm not sure we'd return.

Owen, our host, was very considerate and offered to sit us up front near the window, or out back where it was very quiet, or up on the bar. We chose the bar where Chris was mixing drinks with his long mixer. The beer selection is top notch - all local brews, many highly rated, a wide selection. The food was spectacular - fresh and tasty. All made from scratch by chef David from local ingredients. This place really is "The Local" with it's selection of locally sourced food and drinks. The caesar salad is always a point of comparison for a good restaurant. Ours rated very highly - fresh, crisp, well made and zesty. The fish tacos were excellent, some of the best I've ever had - loaded, spicy, fresh, with lots of well balanced flavors. Turns out there is another room behind the wall - a Speakeasy. We were very tempted but unfortunately had to miss it so that we could get up early and resume our road trip. But it too was very much "The Local" - a curated list of 300 American Whiskeys, including the local distilleries.

The menu, while smaller, still has many fun and interesting options so we had no problem deciding on our meals (& drinks). ALL THE FOOD (& drinks) were AMAZING!!!! Flavors were popping! Portions were generous! The food truly lived up to all the hype! The only reason the review isn't 5 stars is because our server was seriously on delay ... it had nothing to do with being busy because we had clear sight of him the entire time ... he was just on "island time" in NJ lol! We didn't make a big deal out of it because we were in no rush and were really enjoying ourselves but if he would've been on his Ps and Qs this would've been a 5 star review. The good news is we will be back so, there's another chance (or chances) to make it 5 stars!

Food was appropriately proportionated for price point, complex in preparation/seasoning but staying true to simple essence of the dish that reminds of us home or Nona. Cáprese salad was good 4/5 (tomato type and minimal glaze) but still enjoyed, Paperdelle Beef Stew 5/5 was ORGASMIC, affogato desert 4/5 wasn't on the menu but Alex made it happen and it was everything I needed, and tiramisu 4.5/5 light fluffy not flavored cake but balanced flavorful very good! Highly recommend you're looking for phenomenal Italian food paired with a breathtaking view, look no further. The ambiance is stunning, but what really made my trip was the exceptional service. ALEX was my server not only did he initially accommodate me in a whisper as a phenomenal lasted too long, allowed me to peruse the menu without feeling pressured, was attentive without being over bearing, and most importantly he ANTICIPATED my needs, rather than waiting for me to ask! He is an asset to this restaurant but whilst I brag about my server each of my interactions were exceptional from someone near the bar directing me to the restrooms, the busboys, bread deliverer, etc. see the manager making rounds to other tables ot answering questions about delivery. I am not sure if Management has changed but whatever it was / is needs to be addressed immediately for the sake of not losing customers. Asking to be seated at a different table other than the one we were initially seated at (bc it was right by the door and the wind coming in was freezing) was the first red flag because the hostess seemed bewildered and bothered that we wanted a new table despite there being 50-11 other open tables throughout the joint. It literally then took 15 minutes before our server greeted us and it just kept rolling downhill at a faster and faster rate by the minute. Appetizers done before our cocktails arrived, cocktails done before we could order our entrees, entrees arrived missing key components and it took a good 10 minutes before we could get our server and the minute she walks over she says oh you need the ABC ... ma'am! If you KNEW what we needed why didn't you immediately address it without us having to flag you down???!!!??? And the reason it took 10 minutes to flag her down was because the rest of the floor staff was running around like chickens with their heads cut off ignoring diners trying to get their attention. Oh and the best part was that there was this "figure of management" present ... and I say "figure of management" because he was also ignoring diners and not checking in with them like a restaurant manager typically does ... he was only going to the empty tables cleaning them, slowly adding place settings, rearranging the empty tables ... trying to look busy!!!!! It was honestly comical at one point. We asked for boxes for our food because we still never received all of what was missing despite our server acknowledging it was missing and stating she would bring it back. We literally never ever received it smh . My BF told her this was the worst service we've ever had and it probably didn't even phase her because her attitude overall was just sucky from the beginning. If this is all because of new management they need to go on and get new new management before this place's reputation is ruined.
