We were on our way to Gatlinburg and stopped at this cracker barrel. We have eaten at cracker barrel many times, each time the food was good. Same here. But I forgot my phone on the table. I didn't realize it was gone until we were 75 miles away. I called and the lady said they found it. I asked if I could pick it up on our way back next week. They put my phone in the safe and I did get it back the following week. Shout out to the gracious team members!!! Thank you!!!!! My husband ordered the Chicken dinner from the Sat-Sun special , even tho he had issues with it on one of our last visits . It came out Dark Brown . He sent it back , our waiter came back with some a little lighter not much , i husband ate one piece and left the rest . This is not A Fresh Golden brown chicken dinner . That poor chicken had to have been cooked in oil multiple times . I order the new Fire side beef with potatoes , carrot and corn . Only 2 pieces of beef maybe 2oz and all veggies were over cooked a mushy .. it was 4:30 on a Sat. I donor like the menu changes at cracker barrel or the Cooking . I just left the Cracker Barrel here in Berea, KY after being totally embarrassed, humiliated and disrespected by the cashier, Lotti and one of their very rude and totally unprofessional managers, Regina. They treated me like I was a homeless person trying to get a free meal from them. They argued with me about a to go order that I've bought from them multiple times in the past at night. They tried to charge me $13 for the same amount of food that I order from them at least once a week for quite a while now that I normally pay $5 for. They argued with me for at least 7 or 8 minutes in front of other customers, employees and my 2 friends that were with me. I was so shocked by the unprofessional treatment I received from both Lotti and Regina. read more

First off, when you order coffee, you should get a spoon. Well, not here! You get two straws or you have to use your fork to stir. Then, no knives to cut your food. She said, we are low on those! Who runs low on silverware!! Coffee tasted burned. Ordered French toast, only cooked on one side or just flipped over for a second, then served. Doughy mess. And why do they serve ice cold butter? That rock can't be spread on anything! Windows could be cleaned. So dirty. I think they need to hire a night crew to dust EVERYTHING in this place. Very slow service. I live in Berea, but I will not come here again. I'll drive to Richmond for breakfast. I hate when a place goes downhill. read more

It's been awhile since I visited a Cracker Barrel and elected to stop by this one twice while visiting family in the area while traveling. The food was to be expected, hot, well presented and of good taste and portion size. Service was great and wait time during "busier" lunch and dinner times was great along with wait staff service. My one question in regard to how the dining experience is set up is with the silverware and napkin setup. As you can see from my photo is basically set up as a "common grab what you need at the table setup." Meaning, that each person at the table grabs their silverware set they need along with a napkin from this small basket. My concern and disapproval of this stems from a sanitary and food safety nature in using this method. First, you can rest assured that the basket itself is most likely not washed via 3 compartment sink or dish washer after each guest. Second, the fact that every guest at a table has to reach in with their fingers and touch every utensil as they are trying to capture their own set is not in any way food safe.. Sure,most folk sit together with family. But, what if you are not? Regardless, whether it's family or not how can anyone be sure of cleanliness from one person or another! Or, at the very least be sure that the basket has been cleaned or all the items within have been placed "fresh" with each new guest? Perhaps this does not violate any food safety or health and sanitation regulations. But, at the very least it gives a visitor a very odd initial impression. And sets a very uncomfortable tone of what might be ahead in the dining experience. It would be good if they re evaluate this setup moving forward. read more

Wait staff are pleasant and attentive while still gently letting you know when it is time to leave. Clean restaurant and very sweet employees. Our server, Bailey, took great care of us. We stopped for breakfast/lunch on the way home from our spring break trip. Restrooms were clean and the store front was clean and orderly as well. Food came out as ordered with the offer for refills and anything needed. Downside of Cracker Barrel is the menu revamp... not a fan of all the crazy drink options and the old meals no longer available... but still this particular location was a good break on our trek home. read more

My Husband and I had a late breakfast in the Richmond Ky store. We ordered the Grandmas Breakfast. It was not their best, The bacon was not cooked all the way. The hash brownd were scarce on the plate and we got charged extra for them. The hostess needs to learn to smile. The waitress was nice but not very knowlegeable about the menu. The order came to almost $30.. This breakfast was not worth the money. I wish i took photos but I just came from the hospital and didnt think of it. I have eaten here in the past and it has gone down in food and service. read more

Great food and great service! Our food was delivered quickly and anything we needed was brought out in just a couple of minutes. My husband had breakfast and I had roast beef. We both enjoyed our food and commented that it was hot and delicious. As we were on our way home from vacation we really appreciated the speediness, and it was so good to have some vegetables (carrots, hash brown casserole, tossed salad). This Cracker Barrel May just be my new favorite! read more

Everything seemed fine but I've had bad diarhea since eating there. Not just normal, passive food poisoning, but full on bad stuff. Stomach was rumbling about 30 minutes after eating and hadn't stopped two days later. Gone thru a bottle of pepto bismol and a few immodiums. I'd steer clear. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on our way home from vacation. Very fast service and our server Terran was great!

We ordered curb side order we waited 50 minutes and my husband finally went in to see what happened and there our order was sitting on a shelf. I already paid for it and left a 25% tip, otherwise we would of just left. When we got back to our motel, there was no napkins, no silverware and the food was cold what a waste of money! I regularly visit this Cracker Barrel location when I'm in need of comfort food and good company. Conveniently located next to Walmart, the store features ample parking and virtually no wait time for seating. If Nathaniel is working, sit in his section! His service fails to disappoint and his attitude is perfectly welcoming. Lisa is also a superb hostess. She's very gracious, asks how you're doing, and she'll tell you the specials. If you're not lucky enough to have Nate and Lisa take care of you, be warned. Other hosts have been known not to communicate when servers are cut, just as other servers have been painfully slow with greeting or drink orders. (Don't worry. They get better if politely prodded.) Country Barrel does country food right! My go-to dish is the breaded catfish, which always comes out piping hot with a great crunch. You can't go wrong with most side dishes. The hash brown and sweet potato casseroles are real treats. Turnip greens are cooked with country ham and impart a rich flavor. The restaurant recently added a crisp kale and Brussel sprout salad for the health-conscious, but the dressing is really sweet. The cheese grits are well-cooked on top and watery beneath. The hushpuppies also tend to be a bit doughy inside. If you've got room, the blackberry cobbler a la mode is sweet, gently tart, and very soothing. Went to CB last night and ordered the pot roast special. I was disappointed. Compared to their lucious pot roast from 3 years ago ,it rated a 2 out of 10. Not a broth but watery liquid. Two tiny pieces of meat. No taste whatsoever of the vegetables and no sweet corn like the pot roast years ago. Yesterday my fiance decided to bring me to cracker barrel for dinner. It's one of my favorite restaurants but he doesn't like it so that was really sweet. The food was amazing, I got a steak meal and he got chicken meal. The proportions were huge. I think our waitress was a little frazzled though I asked for a mix of tea and lemonade with no lemons slice in it and she brought me some kind of coffee drink with lemon and it was horrible. She did come and explain what happened and changed my drink. Overall it was a great experience with fantastic food. read more

When I travel, I usually have breakfast at the Cracker Barrel. This location was clean and not crowded. Our waitress was courteous and attentive. I was so excited to eat here since I came in for a visit from California. But I was sadly disappointed when our service was absolutely horrible. We ordered our drinks and it took a good 10 mins just to get them. Then another long wait for our meals along with refills. We had to ask multiple times for extra napkins, corn bread and apple butter. Then when our food came out I was missing my fries along with my mother's bacon being barely cooked. Once upon a time, my brother called me when I was shopping at Crate and Barrel. I told him where I was, finding all these cute things and his response was "Really? Isn't it kind of country?" That's when I realized he thought I said CRACKER Barrel. Well tonight, I WAS at Cracker Barrel...right off I75. From the rockers on the porch to the country store just inside, it IS just what my brother imagined. My gram, mom and I needed something after a long time day. You have a certain mediocre(?) expectation when eating at a Cracker Barrel...and this was not even that. The service was good enough, but two out of our three side orders were wrong and we honestly were in a bit of a hurry so didn't worry about it. But all the food was just kinda blah. The biscuits and gravy were NOT what I was expecting (my fault for not comprehending the menu, but smokehouse gravy does not equal sausage gravy in the least--it tasted like smoky flour gravy--yuck) and even the sausage tasted a bit strange. If you want some simple country style food this is your place. No shortage of gravy bread and rolls to go with everything. Sort of the like any other chain this is a place you go into knowing what to expect and setting your expectations accordingly. If you want gourmet cuisine this isn't your place. But a decent chicken fried steak (or chicken fried chicken) with gravy and couple southern-style sides and you are at home. Never have I seen alcohol on a Cracker Barrel menu so maybe its a corporate position, so expect tea, sweet tea, or other when you eat. read more
