Regardless of whether this is a permitted store policy, enforcing it against a small child in an urgent situation is a gross departure from McDonald's "Family-Friendly" brand and an unacceptable failure of common decency. By gatekeeping a basic necessity, your staff is unilaterally ignoring the spirit of Public Accommodation and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which call for "reasonable modifications" to policies in urgent situations. Making a child wait for a transaction to go through can pose health and safety risks for the child and may also lead to sanitation issues in your dining area. I would hope this issue will be referred to both the management company and the Franchise Business Consultant over this facility. Adults and Teenagers are understandable, but a 5-year-old child is not. No matter what happens, I will not be doing business with this store again.
