Chicken Salad on Sourdough
Tony W.

Beautiful restaurant in the college district. They start you with a cornbread soufflé hot out the oven with fresh butter. Delicious. For our lunch, I had the wilderness road burger, a combination of Wagyu beef, elk, bison & wild boar on a toasted rustic bun with cheddar and applewood bacon and crisp hot fries Excellent and very filling. We also tried the chicken salad sandwich and combination of white chicken, cranberries, raisins, almonds, we traded the croissant for toasted sourdough, and hot crispy fries Very fresh and very tasty The service was excellent Since it's in a nice hotel, We had first class service and tablecloths even at lunch. Prices were very reasonable. We will Definitely go back whenever we're in the

Great service, delicious food, beautiful surroundings . What a peaceful dinning experience provided by the college students over seen by professional chefs. Most dishes are locally sourced . I've eaten here several times and always leave glad that I returned to see what was new on the menu.

Lots of history here and was excited to give this tavern a try. The building is just beautiful and I'm sure the hotel is really nice too. We were seated right away as they weren't super busy. However, service was very slow after that. We waited a very long time for our food and drinks. We had the pecan old fashioned which was really good, with a really nutty flavor. They also started us with spoon bread and butter. The bread was warm and moist. Very unique and delicious. Our dishes were chicken flakes in a birds nest and the filet with potatoes and asparagus. The chicken flakes had creamy potatoes and gravy and the green beans were crisp and everything was seasoned well. The filet was cooked properly with a nice gravy with crispy, delicious taters and fresh veggies. The meals were enough for leftovers and both dishes were great. The menu isn't huge, but there were enough options that we may come back again.

Drove down to Berea for the day. Walked into Boone Tavern and decided to have a light bite. The spoon bread was complimentary and came with orange butter. Deliciously light and airy. We were intrigued by the fried avocado. So melt in your mouth yummy with a spicy remoulade for dipping. We shared the ham and Gruyere sandwich which came with homemade chips. Amazing ham. I think it comes from the Berea College Farm. A lovely experience in this beautiful hotel. Don't miss a meal there. 51

The beautiful, newly renovated restaurant at the Historic Boone Tavern is now known as "Crafted". The color is eye catching and I love that the decor displayed is created by the college students. The hostess and servers are all very friendly. We enjoyed breakfast two mornings at Crafted. I highly recommend their Biscuits and Gravy (my all time favorite breakfast) and the Buckwheat Banana Pancakes with Carmel sauce. There were both so good! The only reason I didn't give a full five stars is because my boyfriend ordered a latte and we were told by our server that they weren't for sure if it was up and running but they would check. They never followed up on that. We also asked for some regular sugar and it was never brought to us. We ended up borrowing some from another table. The first morning we thought coffee might be complimentary since they bring it to the table and it wasn't on the bill. The next morning we were charged. Nothing that's a big deal. We think our server may have been new. They were very sweet though. We always enjoy our stay at the Historic Boone Tavern and eating at the restaurant.

Restaurant has updated their menu. Have a new chef and he appears to have great ideas. Never had a bad experience here. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. Great menu options! Always a nice ambiance and great service!

Cheeseburger with fries. Really good.

Lovely dining room. Linen tablecloths. Sweet servers. Spoon bread was delicious. Servings were big. I left with half hamburger.

Bland food , expensive and disappointing. You are better off at waffle houses . Don't recommend.

[TLDR] I'm not super into bagels so when my friends suggested that we go to Native Bagel, I wasn't sure if I'd be a fan. But their bagels are soooooo much better than anything you can get at the store. I mostly get their seasonal cream cheeses like the strawberry and pumpkin. I wish they had more cream cheese options. It does seem like they've been experimenting with different flavors and menu items recently. I like their coffee more than any other coffee shop in the area. I prefer my coffee on the sweeter side. I get the iced raspberry (or blackberry) white mocha. It's perfect! I like that I can order online. When you place an online order, they will set your order at the end of the bar near the door when it is done. The staff members are pretty nice. If you order at the counter, they will bring your food out to you. You have to throw away your trash when you are finished. The aesthetic is so pretty. I love the vibes. There are two single stall gender neutral restrooms located to the left of the order counter. They are decent size restrooms. My one gripe is about the size of the venue. It's small and a little crammed, especially since they put in the bar. At times, the place is hard to navigate as an able bodied person, so I'd imagine a disabled person with mobility issues or even someone with a stroller would have a harder time. There is a ramp to get into the main entrance of the building, however, the door is not automatic. I figure there's not much they can really do to solve the issue unless they expanded the building which I understand isn't quite feasible. I only bring this up because I love Native Bagel and I feel like it kinda does impair the experience a little bit. A person with a mobility aid would probably have as easier time navigating Just Love Coffee Cafe down the street than Native Bagel. If you go on Saturday morning it is often crowded! Be prepared to wait in line, and know that there may not be a free table to sit inside. I know this because my friend group and I went every week when we were enrolled at Berea College. There are a few tables outside by the parking lot. Also keep in mind that toward the end of the day they can start to run out of bagels. In the evening, they use the same venue for Nightjar, a bar and dine in restaurant.

Morning was phenomenal, service was impeccable, food was definitely delicious and cooked with love, everyone was really friendly and helpful seeing as we had never been there. The interior is really nice has a home like vibe to it and very cozy. There is a even a game section in the back corner, board games, books etc. They have an interesting take on waffles! The prices are more than affordable, a full size drink can sound a little costly but I would definitely say the flights for the lattes are definitely worth it. I fell in love with Coco Loco and my boyfriend is obsessed with all of them. Womelette, Nutella waffles, and breakfast sandwich were ‍ Refreshers weren't my favorite, not sure if maybe they just put too much syrup etc in it but even my son had a hard time swallowing watermelon crawl and riptide as they had been way too sweet. Strawberry Cloud was extremely refreshing still sweet but not too much just the perfect blend. The panini was delicious accompanied with chips and balsamic vinaigrette and the fact that I could bring my dog Butters was even better! They have a gorgeous patio on the exterior. Lastly, our morning experience was definitely more accommodating than our afternoon experience. Our refreshers came in itty bitty tiny cups not worth the money of roughly 9-10 with tax. The service itself did not compare to the morning service.

My mother got a breakfast croissant and I got the lunch special (pork tenderloin, roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes). My mother loved the sandwich except it came with too much bacon - if there is such a thing! The pork tenderloin special was perfect for me! It tasted like a homemade meal. I would order it again. I give this place only four stars because there was not a great selection in drinks (cream soda, root beer, al8, or water) and the coffee was terrible! The sweet lady at the register even made us a fresh pot but neither me nor my mother could drink it. I do recommend this place overall. I will go there again, especially because the desserts displayed at their counter looked AMAZING. I must try some of their cupcakes and their cinnamon bun! They always answer our questions about what ingredients are their items ( mom of two picky kids, I know I'm annoying) We love the croissant breakfast sandwiches, red velvet cream cheese brownies, and cinnamon rolls. Today we ventured out and tried the egg muffins. They're super tasty and loaded with onions, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, and ham. They come served with a side of salsa. Really the perfect low carb breakfast. We haven't made it for a lunch special since we work out of town, but that's on our list of to do's! My mouth waters just seeing pictures of their specials.
