I had a really great experience at this Cracker Barrel. I was greeted warmly the moment I stepped into the store. I was seated immediately and my server, Dawn, came over quickly to take my order. My food came out quickly and everything was hot and fresh. I was able to take advantage of adding on a take home entree for $5, which came out neatly packaged when I was ready for the check. Dawn offered me to-go containers for my leftovers and even a fresh tea to go. The store and restaurant were clean and well-organized. The bathrooms were also relatively clean. The check out process was quick and easy. My cashier was very pleasant to work with. I'd come back here again!

I've been a loyal Cracker Barrel customer for a long time, and this is the first experience that has made me feel compelled to leave a review. I called to place my usual order for my son and me. At first, I was told the power had gone out and the POS system was still loading, so I waited over 30 minutes. An associate was kind enough to take my order anyway while everything was coming back online. When I called back I ask to speak with a manager & to check on my order. In that process while waiting to be transferred to a manger, I was told the grills and stoves weren't working and that only the fryer was available. I completely understand that equipment issues happen and that those situations are outside the staff's control. What disappointed me was the customer service i received. I was trying to figure out an affordable option for my son and me, so I asked manager if I could add two chicken tenders to my order. After being put on hold so many time's I was told they only came in a three piece order. I asked for the price and wasn't given an exact amount, just an estimate. I then asked if I could simply be charged for the three tenders instead of ordering another meal, but I didn't receive much help or any clear explanation. After spending so much time on the phone trying to work everything out, I asked if there was any way to receive a small 10% , 15% , or 20% discount if I ordered both the kids pancake meal and the kids' chicken tender meal. At that point, I wasn't asking because I felt entitled to a discount! I asked because the process had taken so long, there had been multiple issues, and I was simply trying to stay within my budget. The request was denied, which I accepted, but by then I already felt like my questions had been treated as an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to help a regular customer. To make matters worse, when I got my food, the food was not what I normally receive. The pancakes on the kids meal were MUCH smaller than they usually are, and instead of the usual biscuits we've received on previous visits, there was only ONE biscuit in the order. I've always enjoyed bringing my son here, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I understand unexpected problems happen, but good customer service is about how you treat people when those problems arise. And as for the manger Ms.Sam , I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to reflect on how customer service can be improved. This visit did not reflect the level of service and consistency I've come to expect, that I've been receiving!

Slow service and terrible tough cold pancakes but the eggs were passable, probably won't eat breakfast there again. Ambiance fun.

Food was way too salty. We had the Easter meal. Hubby had the chicken and dumplings. Bland no flavor. First time ever CB let us down.

In a restaurant heavy town, this food truck entrepreneur turned brick & mortar sets a new bar for…read moreothers who have gotten too comfortable in this market. The food is thoughtfully curated for variety on the menus, the atmosphere is subdued and comfortable, and the service is on pace with whatever timeline you need or want them to be if you let them know. In a time where those things no longer seem to be a given, it's a refreshing delight! At this point, I've tried about everything on the menu. For lunch, the tuna salad is my favorite but you honestly can't go wrong on this menu made to enhance the fresh, natural taste of the foods on it. You can also get steak at lunch even though it is not on the menu... just ask. The owner personally shops daily to ensure whatever you order is fresh, and the meats are sourced from Tarleton in Stephenville so you are supporting local ranchers in addition to knowing its origins. On the appetizers, the shishito peppers fresh bought fresh locally are a great option. The dinner menu is equally as delightfully hard to go wrong, with one addition I wish they would add to the menu, but you can still always get... Tuna Steak. Any other place who has this in the area does it in ways that are either coated with sesame seeds/oil or is not fresh to the point you can smell it (fish that smells fishy is not fresh!). I love the tuna steak with a side of the sautéed mushrooms, and a starter of the homemade Caesar salad (made without mayonnaise, using fresh ingredients). With fewer and fewer places offering things that are healthy, it is a great place to get incredible food, at an incomparable price for what your money, without having to stray from a heart healthy, food allergy, or other restricting diet (be sure you let them know if you need adjustments for allergies or health reasons). I appreciate that foods made with butter can be adjusted to olive oil, my very restrictive allergies can be accommodated for, and the flavor does not suffer for doing so. Desserts & drinks are equally as memorable, and only make a wonderful meal that much more unforgettable. If you're looking for a great dining experience, without breaking your wallet compared to the same foods at other local establishments, this is the place! It is not kid friendly, which is welcomed to me because I want to enjoy a night or a lunch out without fuss. It is a quiet, relaxing atmosphere you can talk to people in without yelling at each other. If you want something different than the menu items, they will even make things like Beef Wellington or likely whatever your heart desires if you plan ahead and talk to the owner or GM. They also do catering for events and will customize a menu if you need or want it for your occasion. If you haven't tried Fort Redemption, you're missing out, and if you have then you already know! Support local, enjoy the freshness, share it with friends, and go back so we can support businesses that are locally owed who don't gouge you with their prices!!

Before choosing to dine here, I strongly suggest reading the owner's responses to negative reviews…read more They may tell you everything you need to know about how ownership views the customers supporting this business. Unfortunately, our experience firsthand only reinforced that impression. We were a party of six, four adults and two kids. They were clearly short staffed, with one person covering the entire floor and bar and the owner working in the kitchen. We completely understood that and were patient. After an extremely long wait, the kids' entree they were splitting came out last and was wrong. We asked for it to be remade, but they were so hungry from waiting that they ultimately ate the incorrect meal rather than continue waiting. After finishing, we waited more than 20 minutes just to pay and eventually had to take my card to the server. When the check came, we had been charged for BOTH the incorrect entree and the replacement. After pointing this out, we were told, "Don't worry about it, we'll fix it later." I asked that it be corrected before I paid. Another 15 minutes later, we received the corrected check and discovered an automatic gratuity had been added. I asked to speak with the owner and calmly explained that I understood they were short staffed. However, given the excessive wait, incorrect food, double charge, and overall experience, I was surprised by the automatic gratuity and that we were charged for the incorrect meal at all. His response was by far the worst part of the experience. He was dismissive and condescending, rolled his eyes while I was speaking, and showed absolutely no concern about our experience. At the end of our conversation, I told him that I thought speaking with him directly was the right thing to do rather than simply leaving a negative review. After his response, I told him I now planned to leave one. His response was: "Go for it. Go crazy with it." So, here it is. Mistakes happen. Restaurants get short staffed. Food comes out wrong. I can understand all of that. What I cannot understand is an owner treating a customer with such disregard after that customer made every effort to be patient and address the situation respectfully and directly. Customer service starts at the top, and unfortunately, this experience spoke volumes. We obviously will not be returning. And based on the dismissive and combative responses you've left to seemingly every other negative review, I fully expect your response to this one will only reinforce the point: when customers praise your business, their support is welcomed but, when they have a legitimate complaint, their experience is dismissed, argued with, or treated as though it simply doesn't matter. That is an incredibly unfortunate way to treat the very people whose money and support allow your business to exist in the first place.
