I will never have dinner there again. Steak was all gristle - not cool for $75.00, waitress didn't even take off a few bucks. Their bread was not Foccicia (hand made), it was toast. At those prices, I feel they think the want to be like Ruth Chris's or the Met; they will never be that foo. read more

Went here with friends on a Friday night. I was impressed how quickly we did get a table because it was clearly busy. I think my one complaint would be the limited parking, but it's likely because it's new since it's not a tiny lot. The food was good, honestly my favorite thing of everything we all got were the dinner rolls. The butter that came with it was delicious. I'd go back for special occasions since it was a little pricier, but I very much enjoyed the atmosphere. read more

We really need to stop making excuses for Crabtree. Everybody keeps giving them a pass because they recently opened. It is terrible. Good lord. Like seriously the service there should be a sin. The place was pretty empty, like there were 3 groups there and they have a ton of seating. Even outdoor seating that looks very nice. A huge sun room of some sort with a huge skylight and huge windows and such. Again I can't talk too much about those awesome places to sit because my group of 5, got put into a booth made for 4...intentionally. The host was taking us to a 4 person booth and the manager walked up and said make sure they sit in "yada yada booth" to which she replied, I was already taking them there. So not only one person wanted to shove a dozen pool balls into a tube sock, even the manager wanted us there as well. They even remarked as I no joke was hanging off the bench, literally, one butt cheek off the bench. She said, this booth looks a little small for your group, then walked off. Let's talk service, we were there for about an hour, drinks came quick within 1-2 minutes. We never got a refill, the waitress even noticed them and said she would bring the water by. Never came. We ordered our food, I got a burger of some sort and so did my son. My daughters got breakfast and so did my wife. The burgers were terrible. My son took a bite out of his bigger and I was going to chastise him for not eating but he said it tasted bad. Kids right? Nope, he was so right. My wife's breakfast was supposed to have toast and she mentioned it, the waitress told the cook (located 5 feet away) and it took him 20 minutes to make it. The breakfasts were good from what my wife and daughters said, so definitely order that if you still come here over all these bad reviews. There were 4 chefs on the line and after 30 minutes of waiting for our food (remember, hardly anybody is in the restaurant), I am staring at them like a hawk. They are all four arguing and pondering how to make the food for us. "2 eggs or 4? What else goes in the chipotle mayo sauce? What food needs to be cooked? I just can't handle this right now, this is overwhelming" Just to quote a few things said. All together it was a train wreck and I was a passenger onboard continuously making the excuse "they're just starting out, just growing pains" When I left I literally could not make an excuse, it was painful and I will never come back. read more

Very disappointed rest. The wife and I went for a date night, first time going and the food was not good at all. I order the Lamb shank, flavor was good however was not tender at all. It came with Couscous and it was very dry with not flavor almost like a corn bread. My wife ordered the chicken Curry the flavor was good but the chicken was very dry and hard. Only good thing about the place is the atmosphere, the place is not worth going. Do not spend the money for a restaurant that charge what they charge the chef should be embarrassed. We told the Manager and she didn't even care. We are local and we are not coming back and will make sure I let know my friends about this place. 1 star because is the only option but they don't even deserve a star. read more

Visited Crabtree in December 2019 after hearing rave reviews from friends. The good news: great ambiance and attentive server. Good drinks menu with lots of choices The other news: Food was good, but nothing to rave about. We had beef bourguignon and Portobello burger. My husband was disappointed in the bourguignon in that it was not traditionally prepared and he thought a bit bland. The bun on the burger was tasty; had not had a Portobello burger before so I can't compare. It was okay. Would I come back? Maybe. read more

We had a fabulous dinner at Crabtree Kitchen last night! We make up a group of retired teachers who have been getting together every Friday night for over twenty years. We've gone to numerous restaurants in Kitsap county over the years with positive and negative experiences. I have to say our service last night was among the best. Naomi was our waitress, and she very efficiently made sure that we all were served our delicious meals. A variety of meals were ordered from the menu, and they all were tastily prepared. We enjoyed the spacious location in the restaurant. Crabtree Kitchen is definitely a lovely place to enjoy dinner with family and friends of large and small groups. read more

I'm updating the review after going to this restaurant 4 more times. Each time has not been a stellar experience. One of the times, on a Friday evening, I witnessed a table bartender being rude to a customer. On another Friday evening, my husband ordered coffee after dinner and after asking for four times, he finally received the coffee with the bill. At Sunday brunch, I was served an egg that was very odd in color and texture - even the chef didn't know why the egg appeared the way it did. As stated, we really want this restaurant to be a success. I'm hoping the owner is reading the reviews and attempting to fix issues noted by the customers. read more

Decided to try the new restaurant today we loved the old location and would drive from Gig Harbor just for their hot chocolate. The restaurant is beautiful, I love that you can see into the kitchen from the dining area everything is very clean. I had the salmon BLT with out goat cheese, other plates at the table were crab cake Beni, chicken fried steak, chocolate chip pancake breakfast platter, and bloody Mary's. We all shared our dishes with one another everything was delicious! Erin was our waitresses she was also amazing! We will be back for dinner next week. Oh and the cinnamon rolls were also delicious. read more

Crabtree Kitchen + Bar - Salmon BLT - Steakhouses Near Me - Poulsbo, Washington

Mothers Day Brunch and a new eatery close to Winslow. The building is brand new and screams a more urban stetting but is a welcome breath of fresh air to the tired restaurant architecture in Poulsbo. Interior is a consultants dream job as no expense was spared. Unfortunately that is where the accolades fade. Granted there was a limited menu to accommodate all the moms being entertained but still had some variety. It included my favorites Eggs Benedict (4 options) and Chicken Fried Steak. After hearing about the sausage used for the gravy I chose the latter. What a disappointment the cube steak was tough and loaded with sinew and the gravy was over salted and spiced. All choices featured house potatoes which were from the freezer. Hollandaise was not home made and lacked the lemony cayenne finish. Of our six meals not a single one featured a garnish of any type and with stark white plates the visual appeal was borderline Denny's. Service was good and my hope is that this place does not get lost in the honeymoon phase of its grand opening and fools itself that ambiance can substitute for a creative menu filled with quality ingredients. read more

Been wanting to eat here for awhile since opening glad we made the drive! So happy to have another dining option in poulsbo especially a more upscale place that serves steaks and such! Service was good and friendly. Food was also pretty good. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. I also like the wine and liquor store under the restaurant. They have a nice selection of wines and hard to find liquor! read more

The place is beautiful and the food is above par so they get 5 stars. Also the service was excellent. The food was far better than normal but could be slightly better. For example the salmon BLT was very good but the salmon (fresh according to the menu) was not as good as the salmon BLT at the Point. However that may be splitting hairs. Overall I recommend this restaurant. read more

UPDATE: Weekend ladies brunch, party of 6 and a half. We were able to make a reservation 24 hours in advance by leaving a message with a return call for confirmation (they still don't answer the phone so no same day reservations). Our table was set upon arrival and everything went flawlessly. Amanda our server was so sweet and attentive throughout the entire meal and I got rave reviews for food and decor from my group, none of which had previously been in. We loved that they have a larger banquet room with loads of windows, making it light and airy, to host such occasions and will absolutely be adding Crabtree to our regular rotation. The only bummer was my Strawberry pancakes were slightly burned on the bottom - but still really good otherwise. Bumping to 5 stars with the massive service improvement from my first visit. --- Mid week about 6pm Crabtree Kitchen + Bar was just filling in for dinner, we arrived as a party of 4 with a reservation and were seated immediately. It's a very modern but rustic space with an open kitchen and fresh herbs growing throughout the dinning room. The menu descriptions are lighthearted and oozing with farm to table appeal listing the family, friend or local business that source the ingredients for the dish. Just make sure to blink after you scan the pricing and ensure you already have a cocktail in hand. We tried the crab cake appetizer, steak frites, beef roast, halibut and chips and clam chowder soup of the day. I didn't get to share the crab cakes or clam chowder since the portions were just too small. The beef roast was fantastic, perfectly cooked and a classic meat and potatoes dish to suit the masses. The steak frites were tender but somewhat bland and while not overcooked the dry aging of the beef changes the moisture and texture of the steak significantly if you're not prepared for it. Lastly we really enjoyed the somewhat unique breading on the halibut and chips. It was light without being greasy but the fish itself seemed overly dry even for halibut. For $22 we should have gotten two beef roasts. The service since opening is well reviewed, our waitress on this particular visit was certainly husslin' so I'll give her credit for doing her best. The owner, Peter, did approach our table at the end of our meal to check on us. He knows they are still understaffed so only time will tell when service may improve. I did want to share our special occasion experience though since it might be helpful. As a classy place I assume others will also be heading to Crabtree's to celebrate. Insert rant here: I checked online to see if they offer dessert - we needed cake for our birthday celebration. Of the multitude of menus listed on their website dessert is not one of them. No dessert, how odd? Maybe ChocMo is handling the desserts? Although downstairs it would be closed by the time we arrived so I attempted to call to inquire if I could either bring a small cake or figure out what the deal was. No answer and the message clearly states they do not answer their phones. When we arrived I asked the hostess if we could stash my small 4 inch round cake in the fridge, as a surprise for my mother until after dinner. She scoffed a bit and it was at this moment I learned they actually DO have a dessert menu...they just hide it from patrons 'until the server has a chance to present it at the table' was the explanation. But why? So I'm standing there with a teeny cake, clearly misinformed by the information they make available and she needs to check if they can put it in the fridge for me. The good news is, after making me feel like I've seriously offended them by bringing my own dessert to this establishment as a 'courtesy' they went ahead and waived the $15 cake cutting fee. I'd post a picture of my cake to make a point but use your imagination it was a 4 inch cake to be split 4 ways - there was nothing to be cut. I've posted their dessert menu instead so no one else has to go through such a complicated fiasco for friggin' birthday cake - ENJOY! read more

I often order the fish and chips when visiting a new restaurant to determine its worth. OMG! This is my all time favorite. The 3 piece halibut was to die for. We just enjoyed happy hour in the bar. All their food is amazing and it was hard to decide what to try. My husband had the oysters and loved them. What a beautiful establishment! We will be back. read more

I had high hopes for this place. Loved them when they were just a small kitchen in a chocolate shop. The restaurant is flat out beautiful. But the food there has failed to live up to the little kitchen it was. I tried eating there on four occasions and the butter aged steak was my only meal I enjoyed, really enjoyed. I've had the breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. All have been mediocre at best and heavy on the salt. One dish was too salty to even eat. My daughter had the portobello mushroom burger that lacked any kind of flavor. All we could taste was goat cheese, a lot of goat cheese. They always seem to blame it on a new head chef too. Whatever the issue please go back to the way it was when you guys were serving out of a chocolate shop. Good luck. read more

Awful. We managed to be pleasant throughout the ordeal like one would be during a root canal.

First, I want to acknowledge that I know it is tough times for all right now; that getting good staff and keeping them is a strain along with quality product. But none of that is excuse for the treatment we received. I had one of the more mortifying and humiliating experiences at this restaurant last week. I confess, I hate restaurants that leave the guess work about prices to the diner...especially when prices are clearly printed for everything but the specials, and especially when the menus are printed on paper and could be updated easily with the actual "market prices" daily. It's humiliating to ask about prices and it's even more shocking when you get the bill with a surprise charge. If you are afraid that the cost of your food will keep folks from ordering it, then that should indicate to you the number of folks who probably leave your restaurant feeling duped. I was treated by a friend, which left me hesitant to ask prices. We started with cocktail and some yummy brussels sprouts. Despite not knowing the price, we ordered the steaks...lots of language on their menu about how special they were. Since nothing on the menu was more than $40 and I had seen online from previous guests they were ran about $45, I assumed as much. When our steaks came, they were both over cooked (and I can't say they tasted particularly special). I cut into the end...overdone. I cut again just right of center and got nothing but fat and a bit more overdone. I told the young man my steak was well-done and he took it back only to return with the manager? Owner? She shoved the steak in front of me and said "Cut it again there" pointing to where she wanted me to cut. I couldn't believe it! No apology, no kindness. I cut to the left of center and the meat was more medium but at this point I was so shocked and I had two servers breathing down my neck, so of course I'm going to eat the darn thing...despite the other half of the steak being inedible. When the young man returned later to check on us again I replied that the steak was fine but half wasn't ....he said "well at least the rest is." WTF? But that isn't all. While we had a glass of wine with dinner we decided on another glass as we were enjoying our conversation. Again, the woman returned saying that she was training the server and he was concerned about "overserving" us and she wanted to check that he wasn't and asked if we were "ok"? Again, what the hell? We had been there for 2 hours already and had two drinks and plenty of food. How humiliating is that? If we had a cocktail and then bottle of wine would they have questioned it? I felt like both my companion and I handled it with grace...we could have gone ballistic but instead were more than nice. After getting the bill, including learning our steaks were $66 each!!!, I drove home getting more and more angry. Please Crabtree owner/manager whoever you are: DO print your prices for all dishes somewhere. DO NOT use your customers "fine" dining experience to train your employees, let alone to train them to humiliate and question your customers. Do not serve a steak that is so precious to you that if a customer isn't happy you can't honor their assessment and offer an alternative. Do NOT question your customers alcoholic consumption unless they are misbehaving, slurring, and clearly drunk. Instead, you should have asked your "trainee" a set of questions like "Are they slurring? What are they doing to make you think they are in danger of being over served? What time was their first drink?" ...if you had asked them, the answers would have saved you and us the humiliation of your "concern". I will not dine here again. read more

OK - we'd been wanting to try this place and gave it a third shot (after two other attempts to visit but waited 15 min to not have a host/ess or server come to seat us). This time, someone came at about 5 min of waiting and told us they'd clear a table, and it was probably another 10 min after that. JUST as we were thinking of leaving, they came to seat us. We had obviously had time to look at the menu while waiting, and had a good idea. After we had put in drink orders, we were informed that 10% of the menu and half the specials were no longer available (of course, they were things that we had specifically wanted). If we had known in advance, we most certainly would have not waited. This seems to be a trend based on other reviews - I get that there are supply chain issues, but maybe let people know before they wait for 20 min. So we order, and it was a good 45 min before we got our food. The food was fine, but portions were small and there were things that we would have wanted different about each dish. I'm not sure we really got the value for the price. With that, on top of the VERY slow service all around, we likely would not return again. read more

This place is very modern and classy at the same time. Friendly staff and fast service. The food is good but a little bit on a high price for a small serving platter. But lucky for me, I have a small appetite and I don't mind spending a little bit more on a good quality food. Just an advice For people that have a big appetite, you may want to consider ordering appetizers to fill you up while you're waiting for your meal to arrive And if you are bringing your kids, my 5 years old son will highly recommend Mac and cheese I had a little bit taste of it and it was probably one of the best Mac and cheese I ever had! Wish they would offer Mac and cheese to their regular menus (meaning for adult as well‍) read more

She was really nice though. I ordered the Avocado Benedict which I have had multiple times in the past at the old chocmo (and previously loved) but this time it was not seasoned at all. Food was cold. W we everything was meh. We live in Poulsbo & will never go back. Our server was nice. Nothing is worth what they charge.

Wanted to be knocked out by the food. It was just OK. Options for dinner seemed all very unhealthy - red meat heavy, cream/cheese heavy, fried fish, etc. I was expecting more of a fresh seafood type of fare, with more light options. It looks so upscale and it was expensive, I felt disappointed by the experience and my meal. It would be great to have a bit more creativity thrown into the menu that wasn't just about maximizing fat and calories. The vegetarian dish that I ordered was bland and boring. My husband went with fish and chips and he was also disappointed, was not expecting panko breaded salmon. We may try it again but it was just not the super special experience we were hoping for. Probably the most disappointing / irritating part of the experience was that the appetizer and the entree came at the same time. This is not supposed to happen (I used to work in a restaurant) and they should have not allowed this to be served this way. It kind of defeats the purpose of an appetizer. We ended up feeling rushed and underwhelmed. Again, if you're going to spend over $100 on a special dinner out, and the place is built up as high end, then it needs to deliver on that, I ended up feeling kind of ripped off actually. The upsides were a lovely space and it was not incredibly noisy, which was appreciated. read more

We ended up ordering Seared Halibut ($26), Chicken Sandwich ($16) & Beef Roast ($18) and we all had drinks. Service was good but food was slow coming. My Beef Roast was flavorful but tough. Everyone else enjoyed theirs. The atmosphere was very impressive, very modern. We walked out paying $110 for the 3 of us. We will be back. A steakhouse with no steaks. We came Sunday evening and were told they didn't serve steaks on Sunday. The only steak on the menu was a 19 oz ribeye. It would have made a meal for all four of us if we all wanted a ribeye. After ordering drinks we asked for bread and we were told he'd have to charge us. We said that was ok. He brought two of the smallest rolls I have ever seen; this for four people. We thought it was a joke. There are too many good restaurants to put up with mediocre food and poor service. read more

Went here for my birthday to get a steak. Came highly recommended, and I was impressed buly the size and cool design of the multi level building this place is in. Dissapointed by the hostess who couldnt find our reservation and seemed quiet and just off, which was confusing. (I understand its hard to find good help these days) we found our table(s) and had to move a bunch of tables together for our party of 7 by ourselves. Our male server was well spoken, and professional albeit loud and seemed like he had one too many cups of espresso, also very loud. I ordered a 23 oz porterhouse, medium rare. It was cooked well but lacked flavor. Also cost $80! I've had steak at lots of streakhouses including ruths chris, and had a $50 steak at ruth's chris that tasted 4 times as good. All together we ended up spending $250 on drinks and a few entrees and appetizers. My meal cost 4 times as much as everyone elses but didnt taste as good as the fish and chips. Kind of underwhelming service and food. Bummer because I had high hopes for this place. The ambiance is pretty cool though. Very hip place and nicely decorated inside. read more

My husband and I love the space, the amazing bar and well-made cocktails, and of course the food.
