Had brunch here on a Sunday with no reservation and it was fine. They open at 9, but at 10:15, there was no wait. It did get full by the time we left at 11. This is a very modern space. All hard surfaces, so I need to let you know that the place is a bit noisy. It wasn't full and we had trouble hearing each other across the table. They have a full menu for brunch and prices range from around $16 for "the usual" of eggs, bacon, and roasted potatoes to $25-30 for fancier plates. Note that toast was a side with extra charge. Brunch for 3 with coffee (and toast) was $115 including tax and tip. Not cheap, but the food was pretty good. The corned beef hash that I had came with a horseradish sauce that was a bit unusual, but good. My wife had "the usual" eggs, bacon, etc. Our son had the "beef benedict" with shredded beef, which, again, was a little unusual, but he said it was good. Had a 6 PM reservation and while promptly seated, I would say we waited at least 15 minutes to get the drinks after ordering. Food wasn't ordered until roughly 40 minutes in and took another 40-50 minutes to arrive. The kitchen was not very busy or slammed. One guest in our party got notified about 30-35 minutes after ordering that they ran out of the dish they ordered. Food was mixed cold or just ok. We shared a wonderful appetizer, shared a delicious jumbo shrimp/fresh peach & fried goat cheese balls salad, and both had a bowl of the cheesy hamburger soup, which was also insanely good. Perched upstairs in a modern building with striking and imaginative architectural details, the space suggests the promise of a five-star destination. Unfortunately, the beauty of the setting alone cannot compensate for a dining and service experience that has proven inconsistent and often disappointing. When we first moved to Poulsbo in the fall of 2025, we visited Crabtree Restaurant a dozen or more times within our first two months. We were immediately drawn to the ambiance and genuinely hoped it would become a cornerstone of our fine-dining rotation. Sadly, our experiences with the food have been largely hit-and-miss with a few particularly unfortunate missteps. On one visit, my wife and I were served what were easily the worst rib-eye steaks we have ever had; finding even a single enjoyable bite was simply not possible. The beautifully designed bar is inviting, yet it appears the business is not sufficient to support a dedicated, experienced bartender, leaving it staffed by well-meaning food servers doing their best. In the dining room, the waitstaff are generally friendly, but the absence of consistent management, established procedures, and seasoned experience is evident throughout the rather slow service. Made a breakfast reservation here for Father's Day. I love that I was able to make my reservation on line. I received a text confirmation and then the day prior received a reminder text! Class act! We arrived for our 0915 reservation a little early and were promptly seated. We are tended to by two servers, outstanding customer service! I ordered the Garden Benedict and my husband ordered the Bakers Box. The cinnamon roll that is part of the bakers box was amazing. Nice thick frosting.. yum. Of course when the rest of the box came my spouse realized he made a mistake. Thankfully our outstanding waiter told him they could make him a vegan Benedict. Took back the nicely boxed pasties and brought back breakfast! My garden Benedict came with two poached eggs, could only eat one, fruit and breakfast potatoes. Very much enjoyed my breakfast choice. Two cups of coffee because it's a delicious tasty roast. This place is in within the community I live and this was only my 2nd visit. I'm putting this on my list of places to eat. The building is modern and tastefully decorated. The first floor has a chocolate shop and cafe along with a spirits resale shop. I highly recommend trying this place out. The customer service is off the charts. Our waiter was very attentive . I noticed he greeted regulars back by name and telling them it was nice to see them. I was able to tour the restaurant facility before they began business. I was pleased to see their state-of-the-art equipment and heard about how their beef would be locally sourced and aged. The restaurant and bar areas were also impressive. It felt like a place you normally have to visit Seattle to experience. We were anxious to try them when they opened. Those earlier visits were underwhelming, and so we tended to go elsewhere for subsequent upscale dining. Fast forward a couple of years and our recent visit did not change my disappointment. We had a reservation for a prime Saturday evening time slot for a special occasion. The place was almost empty. Needless to say, we were seated promptly and provided water, and our drink orders taken. First negative- if you want to see a list of wines available by the bottle, you need to scan the QR code provided. Our server was very friendly and helpful, but the kitchen was very slow in putting out the food. One of the primary reasons for choosing Crabtree was my interest in having a quality steak. As I expected, Rib Eyes were on the menu. Unfortunately, they were not in the kitchen. So I reluctantly opted for the "extra aged" NY Strip. Cooked medium, It was just OK - a little dry. I probably should have opted for Medium Rare. My wife had the Halibut ($45), which she found to be dry. The steak entrees are a la carte. So my 14 0z NY Strip was $56. It was just OK - a little dry. My Pave Potatoes were another $12. They were odd looking layered slabs, but were actually pretty tasty. I might have ordered a vegetable side, but none looked appealing, and why add another $9 for something that didn't look appealing. In summary, I REALLY want to like this place. It's locally owned and a beautiful facility. The staff is very nice. But the food is overpriced and disappointing. I went in for dinner at Crabtree on October 17. The two of us sat down in a moderately busy restaurant and ordered a peach salad and a burger. We waited an hour and a half for our food. Our waiter stopped by one time in that hour and a half to apologize for the wait. We left at the 1:30 mark with no food. The waiter said he comped half of our drinks (a beer and a cider) but charged the full price. No one ever explained why our food was a no show, and the restaurant was almost empty by the time we left. I have eaten at Crabtree a handful of times and have always considered it good if a little slow. I will not be eating there again. read more

First. Restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately food is not. Steaks had very little taste and over priced for what we received. The Filet my wife got had a watery blood come out of it when she cut it. This is why there was very little taste. I asked for scallops as a side to my steak. They were not cooked. Only cooked on one side and full of oil. The other side was asparagus. You could only eat the end of it. The base was stringy and tough. Really shame as this restaurant has so much potential and the area needs a nice steak house. The Chef came out and spoke to us and did a great job speaking to us and understanding our thoughts. The server we had, was just so so. He acted as though our comments weren't valid. We were not mean but were just pointing out/sharing our thoughts as we have enjoyed some great steaks and food at top eateries. We won't go back unfortunately. Wow, i'm surprised by the stars all over the place. I had a very good experience with tasty food and the right amount of attention from the wait staff. The bar is off to one side and a place i would feel comfortable meeting friends after work. I ate here with friends early on a weeknight. I made reservations, but at 5:00, it was sparsely populated with customers but teaming with staff. We were quickly seated, and the seasoned crispy chips were delivered, something i didn't realize i needed until i tasted them. I had put off coming here because it definitely has an upscale look. so i was quite pleased with the menu prices. Yes, the dry aged steaks from Crabtree's farm are priced for the premium they are, the rest of the menu was surprisingly affordable. My companions had the fish & chips which they said was quite good. i enjoyed my dry aged steak as well. i tend to be a wine snob, but often ask the server for their personal recommendation. The washington state Sangiovese was surprisingly good. I'll be back again with more family & friends. read more

We really wanted to love this restaurant. It's beautiful inside, spacious, modern and comfortable. We came to celebrate a birthday and steaks are their specialty. My husband wanted a ribeye steak and they were all out of ribeyes that night. He went on to order the fillet instead. ($65 and no sides- you have to pay extra for those, which we did) I ordered a Caesar salad to start and the Halibut. ($50) We also ordered a cocktail which took an unusual amount of time to arrive. When my salad was delivered I soon discovered that there was no dressing on the salad! I mean... A caesar salad is ALL about the dressing, right? We told our server (who was very nice) but again it took an unusual amount of time to deliver a side of dressing. Then our entrees arrived. My husband's looked wonderful and he said it was very good. My halibut was very overcooked, hard and dry. Unfortunately I had to send it back and ordered something else. The Crabtree Kitchen & Bar is a "Farm To Table" restaurant that serves up delicious food in a relaxed, industrial chic setting. We were very excited to try it for the first time for Sunday Brunch. Their website said you must make reservations, but when we walked it at our reserved time there was no line, and were not even asked if we had one. The first thing you notice is the wonderful smells coming from the buffet line. There were a lot of incredible looking choices, but I don't eat enough food for the price ($45 pp). The menu is pretty extensive for brunch with choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We stuck with breakfast and ordered specialty coffee drinks from the chocolate shop that is a part of the complex,. The Mocha was Fabulous! The Brioche French Toast ($19) was served with crispy (local) bacon and a fruit compote-delicious! My friend had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes ($21) and said they were very good. Miserable. My wife and I had a 6:30 reservation, and it took almost 40 minutes to get seated in a dining room nowhere near capacity. At least 8 to 10 people were all standing in the foyer area, waiting to be seated. After we were finally seated, our food didn't arrive until an hour later. I ordered a NY strip with veggies. It was the worst steak I've ever had, go about three bites in and had to put my fork down. It was super tough, overcooked, and badly seasoned. The 'sauteed' veggies were practically raw. I went to Crabtree last year with my kid and had a wonderful experience. This go 'round, it was just the opposite. Celebrated a friend's birthday there yesterday. So impressed with the entire building and all the offerings. Had been to Vibe and ChocMo several times there and love both, but first time in the restaurant. It's a spacious, clean looking, and inviting restaurant. The hosts and wait staff are great. Cutting to the chase, I have to say I was beyond extremely disappointed in the steak they served. The birthday person traded their steak back in for fish and chips which were OK, but she had come for the steak. I took a bite of her fish and loved the crunch. Only major issue was it was too salty. I, on the other hand, had a steak that was no other way to put it - Horrible. I asked for medium believing it would be seared on the outside with juice coming out of the inside. Nope! I got a barely cooked, cold, salty, and otherwise tasteless slab of meat that looked like it had been bought on sale at the local grocery store. I sent it back and sadly had the wait person bring me a new one. Sad! No other way to put it. Still was not cooked properly. Nothing but salt for flavor...Just bad. And for $44 dollars for that steak (on the second chance) was a travesty! A total waste of an animal's life and my money. You know, if I were a person that got mad I would be very mad. One the positive side: The mashed potatoes were good, albeit way too salty. They would have been outstanding if not for the heavy salt content. The broccoli was ok. Admittedly, the pesto sauce on the plate was some of the best pesto I have ever tasted. But I am still unsure of its relevance to the entire dish. And, essentially since I only truly enjoyed the pesto drizzle, for the $44 my meal cost I should have come home with bottles of it in lieu of that steak! Final verdict: The cook has too heavy a hand with the salt shaker. I think my blood pressure is rising just from the memory of the few bites I managed to consume yesterday. For a family known for raising cows, my experience is they don't know, or simply haven't trained their crew on, the proper preparation of steak for the restaurant and plating for their guests. Yet they charge a price as if they have it down to a science. Otherwise, the ambiance is nice, the staff are attentive, and the menu sections of food and wine are ample enough. I am one for giving second chances so may go back. Never ordering the steak again! However, remembering how delicious his burgers were back in the old ChocMo building years ago, I will try one. read more

I was so excited to try this place. My bf and I went here as a date night. It was pretty empty except for a party in the large room behind the bar. Our cocktails were excellent but took a while even though we were in the bar. Only one bar tender for a Friday night??? Our appetizer was my favorite thing. Our waitress was very scattered and would disappear only to return to ask what my bf ordered, again. ( if you can't remember two dinner dishes, you may want to write it down ) When we got our food it was presented beautifully and looked delicious. I had the chicken and my boyfriend had the roast. Both were barely warm. His mash potatoes were like warm and super lumpy. They tasted alright. My chicken was cooked through, but barely warm and very chewy. (Overcooked). It was almost as if they were made ahead of time and just kept under a heat lamp. The food was flavorful but it was disappointing. Also as a sidenote, every single plant in a tiny little glass tube that was hanging on the wall was dying!!! ....please water them it killed both me and my boyfriend to see these plants just dying on the wall. They're clearly supposed to have water in those tubes. It's a great idea but there's a lot of upkeep. We may try this place one more time. read more

We came here for the first time on Valentine's day and surprisingly, got a table immediately. The place has an open, industrial type vibe and it looks kind of upscale but everyone was pretty laid back. The waiters, hostess, and bartender all greeted us when we entered and said good bye when we left and our waiter was very attentive, so I would say that the service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. They have a fairly small menu and everything sounded delicious but the execution was not there. For appetizers we got the beef carpaccio and the squash fritters. The beef carpaccio was kind of tasteless and there was hollandaise sauce on it, but it was super bitter. I've never had.hollaindaise sauce like that before and wasn't a fan. No complaints regarding the squash fritters, they were yummy and I liked the tamarind sauce. For our main courses, we got the chanterelle beef tagliata and the halibut with.a.chorizo sauce. The beef was a bit too chewy and the entire dish needed more flavor, even just salt would have been ok. The halibut was overcooked and kind of rubbery and I couldn't taste the chorizo. The sides (mashed potatoes and green beans) were both delicious! The mashed potatoes were creamy and perfectly seasoned as was the green beans. One bright point was the drinks. The Manhattans were excellent and I had a zero proof cocktail that was delicious. Overall, I can't justify going back and paying these prices for this quality of food :/ read more

We recently went back to Crabtree (about 4 months ago) , and we were really disappointed in our experience. They had "updated" their menu with ridiculous increases in prices. The brunch burger went up $5 in one swoop. It was pretty much the same item, but when we were there the restaurant was not as crowded as it used to be - even during COVID there was always a wait because the restaurant was so airy and spacious, staff so friendly, however with those over the top price increases, I can see why the crowds were no longer there. If this place had always provided 5 star food it might be worth it for an occasional treat, but it was always a little Indy even before the increase and 4 star, not 5. We loved the coffee and the ambiance though, it kept us going back. Last visit, most of the staff from prior visits were no longer there, our mocha coffees came to us luke- warm and thin (they seem to have lost their dedicated espresso prep staff also), and in general everything on our plate was "ok" but pretty lackluster. Unfortunately, we felt that the quality of the food no longer matches the price point and although the ambiance is really attractive, it felt less friendly and there was less attention to quality than we had experienced in previous years. We will be heading to other Sunday brunch spots in the future. read more

Bacon, red onion, spinach, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce atop a cheesy potato cake (with extra potatoes for good measure)! I was super annoying because I couldn't stop saying how delicious it was. The perfect balance of ingredients and a nice size, I certainly did not leave hungry. The Crabtree is what I would call a Monet. Beautiful from far away, as it has a timeless decor, modern and light, but once you're at the table, up close, everything simply falls apart. The menu is well written, but the food that the kitchen is pushing out is boring. It lacks flavor. Their breakfast potatoes reminds me of what I would get at any 3 star hotel serving a continental breakfast. Their produce seems wet, having had an inch thick cut of tomato soak an entire English muffin. Sadly, the service did not justify my experience: slow, unorganized, and really all over the place. This place is a gem! Modern and elegant space with an open kitchen and good cocktails! Group of 6 adults on a Saturday night got everything from poutine and crab cakes to steak, lamb, a burger and seafood cannelloni. The food was all delicious and fresh and the service was wonderful. I have been to Crabtree twice in the last week! Once for brunch, see below the country fried steak with gravy and the smoked salmon benedict (SO yummy). We went for dinner last night as well, I had the pork of the week seen below with yams, apple ginger chutney, and veggies. VERY good. Only giving 4/5 stars as both times we went out waitress or waiter seemed a little frazzled, especially with the drinks which is odd and especially during our brunch visit. We were one of two customers in the joint for breakfast and it seemed as though the waitress was still overwhelmed. Overall though a great meal and a beautiful restaurant. We will be back! read more

I'm very dissatisfied with Crabtree tonight ( Valentine's Day). We made our reservation over a month ago. When we got to the restaurant there were over a dozen parties waiting for their table. We ended up waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. When we were seated I made a comment that a dessert should be comped since we had just waited to be seated for so long. When the bill arrived nothing was comped or discounted. To put this in perspective, We waited for a table longer than we actually ate dinner. Very unprofessional. Our server was was very good and the food wasn't horrible. Put as everyone knows the prefixed menu on Valentines Day is way overpriced for them to not respect my time enough to try to make it right. read more

We reserved a party of 12 people for brunch. This was our first time at Crabtree's. I'm nearly 50 years ild and spent close to 15 years living in Seattle and was raised in a small farming community close to Canadian border. I also grew up working in restaurants and in graduate school (masters degree in nutrition) I worked as a restaurant health inspector for Kittitas County Public Health. I love supporting worthwhile restaurants. Ok, so we drive up to Crabtree and am impressed by the money that has gone into the building and the overall vibes. Seems like the investors have money and didn't skimp. The bathroom design was the absolute best part of the visit. If you're not hungry just go in to use the restroom. You won't be disappointed. We were seated and the interior is nice and bright. Well designed. Our server, however was horrible. Given staff shortages and challenges retaining employees I get it...in fact I work with companies to mitigate that. A few examples include asking for silverware and she forgot. I asked to order beverages and she forgot to bring them. She brought 2 of the 4 drinks ordered. I ordered coffee but I asked specifically for cream and sugar and she didn't bring any. After chasing her down 3 times already I just went to the bar for cream/sugar. At the end I had to ask for plates to be cleared and our check. At the end of the day the service was completely a farce and I didn't want to tip at all. It was more work for me and I feel like I should have clocked in. The food was plated well but not served hot...especially the eggs Benedict. Only a few small potatoes on the side and the server forgot to bring the fruit side. With such a disappointing experience it bring attention to the prices. The value was not there to justify their price points. The worst part was a woman at the chocolate place asked how our experience was and I shared. She seemed sincerely interested and asked for my name and phone number and I reluctantly agreed after she said " Cynthia ( I think that was the name) is very interested in customer feedback and she will call you today". Its been 4 weeks and nobody has called. Ownership: Fix your staff training and it's clear by your lack of follow through that these problems are top down, rather than the server. Restaurant was recommended as the best/nicest restaurant in Poulsbo. Yes, the ambiance was excellent as the decorations were very modern as it could be in swanky New York for example. We both had the BBQ chicken sandwich, others in our party enjoyed the Mac & Cheese and the roast beef. All meals were very good. The staff was very busy, maybe too busy. They never missed an opportunity to smile and check on us. Every single employee we encountered was friendly and professional. I never felt like we waited too long for any aspect of our meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice - open kitchen, not too loud, enough space to not feel crowded. We will be back for sure! read more

We had my dad's 70th birthday celebration at their private event room and it was a perfect set-up. The restaurant is clean and modern. I love the industrial modern look. There were 15 of us and the servers did an excellent job on getting our orders correct and having them arrive at the same time. I really appreciated that. I ordered the blueberry pancakes w/bacon and side of potatoes. Portions are generous! Pancakes are fluffy & delicious. Bacon was my fav, perfect crisp to them. My husband ordered the meatloaf sandwich w/fries and he thought it was very tasty. I took a star off my review because a handful of people ordered the corned beef hash and they all said the dish barely had meat in them and it costs $20! Kind of a bummer. Overall our celebration was perfect and this restaurant is great for big parties. Special thanks to Lonnie, their even coordinator, for making it so easy to plan it all.
