I am so delighted to write this review! Yesterday a holiday , my husband and I really wanted some…read morecomfort food. We checked out two places before going into The Brass Kraken. This is a Pub/Bar with a view! And or you can sit outside and see the local seal swimming in the marina the outside area has Umbrellas in case its too hot or bright. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the most genuine and knowledgeable young lady, immediately let us pick a seat, near the window in the . Gave us options and directions to best suit our thirst, and food questions were addressed to help us decide on which delicious entree to pick. The kitchen is modest they have great selections and variety and I am pretty sure whatever you choose you will leave happy! My husband had the catfish basket with two HUGE hush puppies ( a tiny bit spicy) we loved them! Crisp and cooked to perfection do not be fooled by the darker outside. Catfish was cooked perfectly and we wanted more! They have medium thick fries which we really enjoyed also. I chose the Cuban sandwich because I love it and I also was not disappointed. Very filling and delicious. I think their tartar sauce is homemade and if you like tartar you will want to try it. Drink specials were also offered at a price that you could have two and not break the bank . Happy vibe, great service, delicious food and a view whats Not to like?! 5 stars and well deserved. We will be back and soon.!!

They have monthly specials that highlight different themes, so be sure to ask about the current food and drink offerings. They offer 18 beers on draft and two ciders, along with Ghostfish Brewing Company gluten-free beer in cans. The menu includes oysters, elk burgers, nachos, wings, calamari, cheese curds, tacos, and more. On weekends, they serve brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The patio area is nice and features bar stools that wrap around the entire building (there are no tables, just a bar-style railing). It can get a little warm outside since there's limited shade, but the view is to die for. For my gluten-free friends, the Brass Kraken offers gluten-free buns, corn tortillas for tacos, and one fully gluten-free beer option. A great place to visit it you are in the Poulsbo area.

Probably wouldn't order the old fashioned next time. Menus had a lot of good choices. We ordered the salmon dinner and the halibut plate. Our server was very helpful in ordering and was very friendly. They offer a great happy hour menu at the bar and there is a room to sit in that is over the water and has great views of the harbor. If you are expecting to get a decent sized portion of fish and fries, think again. You will get about 8 French fries to go with your two small pieces of fish. You're going to pay over $20 for a snack disguised as an entree. We ended up ordering another plate of fries for $10. Ahi tacos are tiny and on the same miniature plate for over $20. Disappointing. For a restaurant with beautiful views and ambiance, the food situation is pathetic. Get rid of these tiny ridiculous plates for entrees and toddler sized portions. We will probably go to JJ's fish house instead next time. Their fish and chips are plentiful and you do not feel robbed and hungry when you leave.

The crust was so butter and flakey, the filling was delectable. This is a must try place for warm, comforting food! As far as the service, we happened to be there during the Viking festival so parking wasn't easy, and people were a plenty. While waiting to grab our food, there was a very rude older couple who just could not understand that food takes time to cook, and drinks aren't free. But the employee working at the time navigated the cranky couple with kindness and professionalism. So go check them out, they will not disappoint!

The restaurant is located about two blocks off the main street in downtown Poulsbo. There's street parking available right out front or directly across the street. They offer both savory and sweet pies with a variety of toppings. We opted for the Classic Scottish pie. It was nice and warm and had a nice flavor. The crust was cooked perfectly. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have a few tables inside and outside available. The restaurant was clean. Would highly recommend.

Asked where I could see the game (the reason I stayed here) guy had no idea. I inquired as to if they had a sports bar, I mean, most casinos do. Well, get this, they had one but IT WAS NOT OPEN on a Saturday night with several big games going on. So we tried elsewhere. Only place was a "deli" with prepackaged salads and pre cooked wings and pizza. Terrible. All the tvs showing a game that noone was watching. Had to go to 22 different people to get the tvs changed FINALLY got security to call IT to change it. AC on freezing...food terrible...the opposite of a good casino experience. I would suggest going anywhere but here. I asked a few folks about the one "good" restaurant, they swore the food was all reheated and very expensive. While checking in I was asked what car I was driving. I said an RV. He said, but what make and model is your car. IT IS AN RV. Then he figures it out and hands me a thing to hang from my rearview mirror. I take it, and I said, where else can I put this? He said, "It has to be on the rearview mirror." "I don't have one." "It is the law in Washington State that you have one. Well, I don't. I drive an RV. Well, put it somewhere. Great. My thought ....stay far from this place. This is our first and our very last stay.
