We have been going to this place for years, but it had been some time since our last visit. We decided it was the perfect place to celebrate my wife's birthday, so invited my son and his girlfriend for dinner. While it has always been a great spot, they have managed to improve even since our last visit - great food, lovely ambiance, and outstanding service. We were a little worried about getting a table as you cannot make reservations for parties fewer than 5, but we were seated immediately and greeted warmly by the staff as we walked in. Dinner was reasonably priced, and each dish we had was wonderful. Our waitress was incredibly attentive without being hovering - an art form if you ask me - and even made sure to wish my wife a happy birthday. Super yummy food! We stopped in late Saturday night, and unfortunately had to wait an hour (totally our fault). It was so worth it! We started with the asparagus which was perfectly cooked. I got the mushroom pappardelle (seasonal special) which was delicious. It was super flavorful and chocolatey (trust me, it works). Wandered in on Mother's Day and they were able to immediately seat our six-top in the back area. That was cool, since we had a 6 and 4 year-old kids. Two cocktails from their list were both very tasty. Glass of Chianti was nice and a good pour. We ordered two specials; one was a mussels dish and the other an excellent mushroom sauce on pappardelle pasta. Both were 5*. They have no kids menu per se, but they put together a couple pasta dishes for the kids. Homemade bread was a nice touch. The Caesar needed real anchovies instead of anchovy paste. It was bland. We were very ably served by Dan. He knew the menu 100%, and he handled our kids like his own grandkids. Interesting. They have a 7% charge "for the staff" and they added 20% automatic tip for our six-top. Next time in the area we'll come back. We had a special meal. read more

Heard alot about this place so decided to stop by there for lunch on a sunny weekend. This place opens up at 1pm so keep that in mind. We were promptly greeted and seated when we gt there 15mins post opening. Half the restaurant was already occupied. We wasted no time and ordered the spanish coffee, oysters, seafood paella, roadtes half chicken. Every dish was fantabulous but the oysters were some of the best I ever had. The seafood paella was packed with flavors as well. The perfectly roasted juicy half chicken with pimento cheese was fab as well. There was not a dish that disappointed us. Not for the desserts we were full but couldnt leave without trying their chocolate torte and dont regret that at all. It was not that sweet (gr8 for me) and the caramel sauce and grey salt balanced it very well. Service was great and the ambience is nice. Highly recommend this place when in poulsbo. read more

Well, first of all our servers, Kyra & then Zoe, are FABULOUS. The fam converges on Sequim every year, coming from all areas of the country to spend several weeks with the peeps. There is always someone coming and going from the ferry and G and I like to add good eats and ambiance to the day when we make jaunts like these. Oh my word, what a neat place! The story of the merging of menus is fun and the continuance of that meld, albeit separate menus and kitchens, works surprisingly well. From the Spanish tapas menu we had the sauteed spinach with golden raisins and pine nuts. What a beautiful and refreshing dish. The spinach was fresh and delicious, the golden raisins were plump and juicy and there was garlic essence floating up ever so slightly. We had also the pasilla peppers stuffed with goat cheese, those were hot baked with a beautiful oil and tomato sauce. Very, very good. We had brussels sprouts with manchego cheese; these are not grilled and crispy so don't expect that. They are browned with a beautiful butter sauce and the manchego cheese is wonderfully pungent. We had also salmon mousse with crostini. The mousse was meh; keep in mind we've had seafood all over the world so our standards are pretty ridiculous for a smoked fish dip. Next, we had a choice of two shrimp dishes: the garlic shrimp on the tapas menu, and the shrimp on the Burrata menu which has prosciutto, garlic, tomato and lemon. Choose the latter. It's divine. They should just put that on both menus, seriously. For cocktails we had the Aviator; made of gin with some violet liquor, it is lovely and refreshing. The 3 Rum Punch is one of the most elegant adult drinks ever. If you want to hide the fact that you're having a frilly rummy drink this elegant rendition is the way to do it. We also had the lemon martini which turned out to be a favorite amongst us girls, and not for the obvious pedestrian reasons. This is not your sweet, silly get-your-shitface-on lemon drop. This is a chic, cosmopolitan martini with fresh squeezed lemon, a clandestine, crunchy sugar rim and it's poured tableside. Nothing like it. Excellent. At the end of it all we opted to share a Spanish coffee which was flambéed bar side and then poured with a hot rich coffee and heavy cream. Delightful. What a lovely and refreshing reprieve from the surrounding mayhem of this area. We appreciated you all, appreciated your service and the lovely food and will most certainly be back. Reason for the reduction to four stars is the 7% service fee which is something I'm calling bullshit on. It's not legal. According to Washington State RCW 49.46.160, a service fee must go to employees and this one does not, so say the employees. Further, not to disclose to the customer in the beginning is also illegal: https://www.lni.wa.gov/workers-rights/wages/tips-and-service-charges. Owner needs to fix this. read more

Sat outside on the patio on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. They had just gotten through a rush so staff was busy cleaning up when we got there. Polite and attentive. Chicken pate was creamy, salty, deliciousness. Toast it was served with was more crouton texture than toast. Pasta was a custom order linguini with tomatoes, capers, lemon and prosciutto. The restaurant was empty so not sure what the issue was there. We ate outside and unfortunately the employee smoking area is right next to the outdoor seating. a very solid food choice with a double kitchen (one side italian, one side spanish) and virtually something on the menu to please everyone. on a somewhat rainy saturday afternoon in poulsbo, it was packed at lunchtime but we got a table on the patio and proceeded to order, mostly from the spanish menu. i chose four tapas and my friend opted for the seafood paella. my friend reported that despite saffron being present in the paella, the subtle flavor was overpowered by other spices, maybe spanish paprika (and cumin?) she said there were areas of the rice that were dry and it felt as if it had been broiled to finish it before being brought to the table. i didn't sample her dish but she commented that my tapa choices outshone her paella, if that observation is helpful. my qualifications for judging the tapas? i've spent a good deal of time in diferent regions of spain for extended periods of time and have a better than average sense of how things should taste and look. cod fritters were more chunks of whole fish than the croqueta style fritter i was expecting. stuffed piquillo peppers were well done and flavorful. patatas bravas were the least remarkable and least reminiscent of the dish as it would be found in any of the bars in spain i've been to. endive salad with fennel, candied nuts and amazing blue cheese was the standout, with great flavor and easily shareable as an appetizer. service was great. very attentive wait staff and we left full with well packed bags of leftover food we asked to be boxed up. i'd go back to focus on the italian side of things but i did notice it was heavy on plates containing meat. as we were leaving, we did soy the in house focaccia which looked divine so id suspect the foods from that kitchen might be equally tasty. the number of occupied tables spoke to the popularity of this restaurant for sure. while there are lots of options for lunch and dinner in the walking area of poulsbo, i was generally happy with our choice and enjoyed the leftovers the next day, which tasted just as good. read more

Most of the food was excellent, however, I ordered the honey baby back ribs and what I got was not baby back and it was dry as a bone covered in sauce which was the only moisture. I get cutting costs with a different rib but don't list it as baby back. I know the cuts of meat and this was not as advertised. I would not recommend this dish. They offered me a dessert but really I expected that they should have refunded the dish since it was not edible. read more

what a wonderful dining experience! I personally had baked oysters, beet salad and an apricot brioche bread putting along with a ginger bourbon cocktail and unique red Zinfandel. Knowing we were planning a trip to Poulsbo, all I thought about was "When are we going to that tapas restaurant ?" Honestly, it has the most amazing food and the service was great. We had visited once before 3 years ago, but it remains as one of the best meals ever from our travels. We ventured into new tastes this time, trying the Piquillo peppers stuffed with goat cheese, which were outstanding, and I am not a fan of goat cheese, but we had to get two orders of these, they were so good! The lamb meatballs are succulent, and the short ribs in adobo sauce makes you want to lick the bowl. The marinated anchovies were a new adventure for me and I was pleasantly surprised how tasty they were, but I got six of these skewers and hubby wouldn't touch them. I had to eat them all, which meant no dessert later. The Tempranillo and Albariño wines were delicious and perfect with our tapas choices. If you are in Poulsbo, you must treat yourself at Burrata Bistro. We will be back! read more

The restaurant adds a 7% surcharge on all food and drinks. The food was OK, but not great. The service was the best part of the meal and is why I tipped 20% beyond the 7% surcharge. As noted by other reviewers - the menu and space has combined with the neighboring Burrata Bistro, so you can order appetizers and entrees from either menu anytime you visit, as they're now a single restaurant. Nice interior ambiance and also a pretty nice covered outdoor seating area (with heat lamps, so it's actually quite nice even on a chilly day); solid/friendly service. Some of the dishes off the Burrata Bistro menu are better than others; however, when they're good, they're great - the Focaccia alone is one of the best bread appetizers I've ever had; perfect balance of olives, rosemary, and other toppings with a quality balsamic/olive oil for dipping. Portion size is super generous, especially given the price. I would go just for the Focaccia. Additionally, tried some of their seasonal pasta specials, including a mushroom pasta and a very interesting lasagna, which seemed more like a giant baked ravioli - both were pretty good and unique in a good way (for the most part, the mushroom seasoning was a little strange). The drinks that I've tried there have also been pretty good. The Paella bar menu is also pretty decent. Have gone back several times now and would definitely recommend. read more

We were the party of 8 that came. When we first got there we were sat outside and no matter where the umbrellas were moved the sunlight was blinding 2-3 people uncomfortably. The waitress offered us to come inside. We would not have minded moving our table closer to the building but inside sounded good so we accepted. Coming inside, we overheard one of the staff members sounding annoyed and make a rude comment that we were coming inside. I don't know if another staff member overhead as well because they quickly explained how inside is usually not sat but they were doing that for us. We appreciated it a lot! Kimberly was our waitress and she was amazing! She explained the menu, how the restaurant worked in great detail and helped us picked great appetizer options. On to the food and drinks, between my family and I and the comments I heard on stuff I did not try. Focaccia bread- it was amazing, moist, melted in your mouth, I did try some with the Artichoke hearts aioli dip I ordered and OMG that dip on the bread is a high recommendation!!! My son is a picky ass eater and he enjoyed the cod fritters! They were nice enough to bring ketchup though the meal does come with three amazing dips already! Our margaritas (mango) and my dad's 3Rum Punch was made with care and deliciousness! My friend ordered the shrimp, my mom ordered the spicy olives and my dad ordered the oysters with Parmesan. My friend also ordered the crispy brussel sprouts. They loved everything. Things they said: olives have a good kick! The brussel sprouts tasted more baked than crisped but were good and the shrimp was like knocked down their throats in 0 to 60. That was enjoyed. My fiancé ordered the Cubano and I got the Spinach chicken lasagna after seeing the other reviews on Yelp! We loved our dishes! Highly recommend like the other reviews do. My mom and sister ordered the penne, they DID NOT like the penne. It was kind of a waste of money: they took one bite and could not finish, I'm over here enjoying my meal wondering why. I go and take a stab at the penne and I couldn't even finish the second nibble of the penne in my mouth, I spit it out. It tasted like it was over seasoned or had a lot of curry or some type of seasoning that should not be in that penne. Well, while I did that my mom and sister gobbled the rest of my lasagna... they agreed the lasagna was good. All in all! Why 4 stars, Good stuff: Kimberly amazing. Glad we waited bc it was paccccked inside and the tables seemed a little close together (in the setting of COVID). It was loud for even outside, but the outdoor heaters were clutch. It's really like 2 restaurants in one with the Paella Bar. One side of the menu is for Paella Bar & the other side for Burrata Bistro. You can order items from both sides of the menu, but the food won't come out at the same time together. The husband & I ordered the pork ricotta meatballs ($13.50), clam linguini ($21) & lasagna with roasted chicken & spinach ($19). Dannnng, made me do a double take - everything tasted delectable!! The pasta is hand made and flavors on point. Service was wonderful! Yelena was warm, attentive - great customer service & kept out waters filled. Nope, nice try bud. Never been here. So then he says, I guess you'll need the menu schpeel? Uh yeah, I was just hbded 5 different menus so a little rundown would be helpful. We ordered. Baked oysters, buratta caprese, focaccia, and pene pasta. Focaccia 10 out of 10, fantastic. Too bad it was the best thing we got. Unfortunately the oysters were 95% bread crumbs. I went treasure hunting for those oysters, and even told the server that I wouldn't need a box for the breadcrumb dish, to which he responded, you have one more oyster there, it's in the middle. Again I pointed out to him, NOPE. I was already there, basically 16.50 for soggy breadcrumbs. And I wasn't even offered a comp or a redo. 0 out of 10. The pene was dry with too much dried out sauce. 0 out of 10 The buratta was not as fresh as other buratta cheeses I've had on the past. This was almost as thick as cream cheese. The center is supposed to be soft and a bit runny, this was thick and firm. 0 ot of 10. Don't know how this place has such a good reputation in the media. Such a let down. read more

We've been here before, but this is my first time reviewing it. We shared olive and garlic focaccia. It was nice and fluffy. I got their 4-cheese pasta. It was like a fancy mac and cheese. It was good. I had their brioche bread pudding with apricots and a rum sauce. That was super hot, and took a while to cool down enough to eat it. I had leftovers of everything. Made for a good lunch and snack the next day. The service was ok. I didn't really like when the waiter made fun of me for splitting my pasta in half. It was a lot of pasta. The ambiance is ok. There's a view of downtown from the windows. It's a little noisy. The only thing I don't really like is how expensive it is. To me it's too much for what you get. read more

We ordered the Brussel sprouts, Beef empanadas, and calms which were all great. During covid, Paella Bar and Burrata Bistro merged to become one joint restaurant with two kitchens- hence the confusion you might have when looking up the directions on Google Maps. We came on a sunny Saturday during lunch time and there was plenty of available seating. We were surprised with the brightly lit outdoor patio where there were lots of heaters, fireplace, and umbrellas to make sure we were comfortable. Our waitress was soooo nice and so accommodating I wish I got her name but anyways service was above and beyond. Service will never make it or break it for me if the food is good but it sure is a plus. The menu is largely extensive and my mom and I decided to pick the safest options from both kitchens: Burrata and paella! The Burrata Caprese was house made and the tomatoes were refreshingly cold. Seafood paella was flavorful and the mussels and clams had a nice smokiness to it. I would definitely come back here again and want to try the other tapas and Italian dishes. read more

We ordered the roasted mixed olives - which I found to have such a strong vinegar taste as to be inedible! And I am a fan of many different kinds of olives from many countries.
