quesadillas and salsa

This mexican steakhouse in silverdale is quite good but very expensive. The steak is very tender and tasty. I love their tacos, no doubt. However, I would only go back if it were an extra extra special occasion, like to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Delicious food and really good customer service was what stood out for me. The price was a little extraordinary and that will keep me from going back either anytime soon, or often.

Yikes! Muy Caliente!

Just okay. Carnitas wasn't the best. Too fatty for my liking. I've heard they have good steak.

Overcooked Peinecillo (New York) steak still over cooking on a hot stone. Not worth $44.

We will not be coming back here. We had such high hopes for this place. The service was bad and so was the food, not to mention it was way overpriced. We've never been to a restaurant that served us so many different sauces that were all terrible. The first clue that we should've just walked right out was the tortilla chips were stale and the salsa tasted like and had the texture of bland ketchup. The waitress barely came by to check on us after we ordered. I ordered the Peinecillo (New York) and my wife ordered the Chile Relleno. My steak came with a jalapeño, nopal, 3 different salsas, pinto beans and tortillas. My wife's Chile Relleno just came with rice and beans. I told the waitress I wanted my steak medium rare, but they brought it out medium well on a hot plate/stone which then overcooked it even more. It was definitely cooked to smithereens, looking almost white in the center. Absolutely horrible. The quality of the beef was very low quality, being no better than what you can get at a greasy spoon diner for half the price. None of the sauces/salsas tasted good on their own, nor did they add anything to the steak. The beans also had no flavor at all. My wife said her Chile Relleno was the worst she's ever had. The batter had no flavor and had hardly any cheese in it. The beans tasted like baby food and the rice was bland. The salsa they gave her (yet another one) also tasted like ketchup. If you decide to use your debit card, keep in mind they will add even more insult to injury by charging you $3.50 extra for the privilege. Nothing about our visit tonight: the food, the service, or price...was worth it. They don't do Mexican food nor steak good at all and there are way better places to eat.

See..... reasonable!

Tuesday, 6 pm and the place was a ghost town! Come on people we need to support our local businesses. My wife and I were the only customers in there. From the time we were seated the customer service was excellent. The food was delicious and I thought reasonably priced. The steaks are pricey but a good steak at a steak house is typically $40-60 and these were in that range. The refried beans were the bomb!! I would go back just for them :-)

We tried out this spot since I had seen some great reviews . We walked in and were greeted instantly and seated at a booth near the wall . The server gave us our menus in a flash ! I ordered the margarita on the rocks which was very yummy but tasted more syrup than I had hoped. We ordered jalapeños which were flavorful and well prepared We both had the wagu steak which was sizzling on the hot plate when we were served. Wish it had a little more seasoning , I asked for mine rare which it was ! And my husband has medium well which it was cooked to perfection. It comes with corn or flour tortillas and salsas, beans and green creme We did not order dessert since we had to catch a movie . We were given our check quickly and never had to wait once . It was a great time

This is my first time doing a review on here. I've been to the restaurant about 3 times. Last time was on Friday (7/12). The service wasn't great. It was better before. Our waiter didn't seem to understand English or even a little Spanish. They had a nice thing going on where it was like $2 each for a tiny taco. We got steak ones. They were good. I got the chile relleno. It comes with beans, lettuce, rice, and tortillas. I don't really understand having tortillas with it. My parent said no cheese for hers in both English and Spanish. There was a lot of cheese in what she had. They didn't do anything about it. My experience was pretty good, hers wasn't. Partially why I think it deserves around a 3.

Pinches Jalapenos! Caliente!

I have been to the location in Port Orchard several times and have always been satisfied. I was interested to see they opened up a new location in Silverdale because it was usually close to empty whenever I visited the Port Orchard location. I just assumed they must have a busy time and I get lucky and miss it. Either way, I was at the mall this weekend for Mother's Day shopping spree and we stopped in. It was empty when we came in and sat down by the front window. I will start and refute some of these negative reviews first. I am going to say, this is NOT your typical Mexican food restaurant. It's a Mexican Steakhouse as it says in the name. It's not an Americanized place that serves the ubiquitous chips'n'salsa or the ground beef and bean burritos. Or chimichangas, or any of the other typical yucky gringo food. That being said, I get that some items on the menu aren't steaks. But, I will be 100% honest, if you want to be disappointed, order something other than one of the steaks. You'll probably not be impressed. Come here expecting to order a steak and then eat one of the most amazing steaks you've had. Is it Ruth's Chris? NO! It's a Mexican Steakhouse. If you want a birria taco, go to a birreria. I have had many of their margaritas and don't share the same syrupy experience other reviewers have mentioned. They're not great, for sure, and have had better so meter your expectations. And oh, yeah there are no IPAs here, again go to one of the Americanized places and order your IPA with your Chimichanga platter. I would never pair an IPA with a Mexican Steak anyway. Give me a Corona or Sol, something neutral to cool off the spice of the grilled jalapenos or the salsas. That all being said, I hope that this review helps people with their expectations and also makes them want to visit because I enjoy the place and would love to see both locations thrive. Every place will have issues with staff, we have had some strange interactions in Port Orchard, but our recent visit here in Silverdale was great. Our waiter was maybe even a bit too chatty. Everyone was attentive and checked on us regularly. The food here had all the familiar delicious flavors of the Port Orchard location. We ordered the Carbonada (yes I broke my own rule), but it was Mother's Day and my Wife LOVES sharing the Carbonada with me. Besides, it is a GREAT price for all the stuff you get to share with a date or loved one, you could do much worse, so I didn't argue. It was still quite good, nothing overcooked or chewy except the corn which was pitifully dry and gummy which is why I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars. C'mon Carbon, it's corn. Rest assured, if you visit this place on Father's Day this year (and every year) you might run into me, with my family. I will be devouring the Tomahawk Steak. I've had it twice so far and finished it both times. I find it satisfying to see the kitchen staff come out one by one and marvel at the fat guy who ate a whole Tomahawk. The steaks are pricey, yes. They are worth the price. I've tried the rib eye as well, which I devoured on a lunch break once. The beans are amazing, and all of their appetizers are pretty good. Again, heed my warning, be prepared to be perhaps underwhelmed if you order anything other than a steak. If you want a steak, you can't do better in Kitsap County. If you want Mexican food, eh just go somewhere else.

Establishment was nice! The music is great. Clean. The service was great. The food was amazing. I'm surprise at how slow it was. I guess everyone out here likes Taco Time that's not Mexican food. Come try Carbon Mexican Steakhouse.

Tacos and consume

Had the bone marrow, there was barely any marrow. Probably two bites worth...highly disappointed for the price I paid for it. Tacos were ok. Seemed overprice. The consume was Luke warm. Tres leches cake was ok. I prob won't come back. I really wanted to like this place. Service was great. Maybe it was an off day.

Cielo, mar, y tierra molcajete
Jill D.

Our first visit here, to the Silverdale location, on a Friday night, and not much of a crowd. I got the cielo, mar, y tierra molcajete. This was a bowl of marinated grilled beef, chicken, and shrimp surrounding a hot bowl of a red salsa with fresh onions and other veggies and an enormous jalapeño. Served with flour or corn tortillas, and three kinds of sauces. Very tasty. The shrimp are served shell and heads on, which I don't prefer, but the shells are edible and intensely flavored. A lot of food, and not very expensive ($ 30) - though you can definitely spend a lot of money here. The atmosphere seems kind of cold, but very basic. Service was quick and friendly.

I wish I took pictures but the food was gone before I could haha. Sooo good! Teriyaki chicken…read moreskewers were amazing. The French fries might have been the best fries I've ever had. My husband loved his burger and my steak was amazing! The price for some things are a little high. The demi glaze sauce being $6 almost made me lower my rating but I dont want to be one of those people. I just wont order it next time. Our waitress was amazing. Sad they got rid of the New York Strip steak but the ribeye was great too!

My first time here as we brought my Mother-In-Law for her 80th Birthday celebration. Being a Sunday…read moreevening I would have expected a table with a view for only 5 people but we were placed in the middle of the room (no view except of other tables) very weird so I asked for a booth. Our waitress was kind and prompt, however a few things made this an ok experience. 1. Clams were delicious - but clam chowder is horrible 2. Only checked on us one time after food delivery and 3 people had water that needed refilled but never was. 3. They brought a Pup Cup with a candle to my MIL. Could you not spare a small slice of cake or something - it was so weird. Who brings a dressing 1oz cup with whipped cream for a birthday celebration? I personally would not go back, but I don't live near here so that won't be a problem. If you like old ambiance, and an old feeling this is your place, just not my vibe.
