Still loving crabs down under. The card machine worked the last time I was there and the owner/workers are very kind/appreciative. The crabs are HUGE and seasoned just right. My only ask is that they keep their social media page updated with hours crab availability. Otherwise, these are still my favs. Yum!

Very disappointed. The website and the sign out front says that they're open daily. I drove all the way over here and they're closed. Never again. At least have a message on the answering machine that you're closed today like Blake's does. They make black businesses look bad.

I absolutely love their crabs... they are really good, juicy, meaty and tasty... I also had shrimp from there which were equally good. Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed them and will return. P.S I would call in the order as they can be a bit crowded.

Let out of the way for me but I wanted to support local small businesses during these times. The crabs are pretty good! Got them for a party and feed about 6-7 people and that's good amount and half bushel was finished. They have garlic butter and paper here. This was half bushel ProTip: the lower cost crabs are mixed and some of it are picking crabs. Request to not over Cook the crabs, this would change the game here. Mines were a tab bit cooked over but overall no complaints. Call ahead!

First black owned crab shop we've ever encountered and were not disappointed. We're super fans. We came the Saturday of labor day weekend and got 2 dozen large males. The flavor and seasoning they use is something I've never experienced before. It was a little hard to spot because we're new to MD, but we know how to get there now. The man who took our order was nice and let us know their debit machine was down, but since our order was 25 minutes out, it was no problem to go get cash. I really like that they have the shell sizes on the wall in the store area as it makes it easier to choose your size. Let me tell you, these larges were HEAVY and even when we got to the end of the bag, the bag was still heavy and we were 3/4 done. They also heated up well the day before. I will say, you may want to take them all out of the bag because the ones at the bottom sit and soak up the delicious seasonings they use and while it's tasty, the salt will get in the meat and make it too salty for some. We plan to come back for the Xtra large at some point. This is the only crab spot we've tried, but I see no point in going to another. We also got corn with our order and I like the unique way of cooking it in the same space they do the crab. Don't sleep on this place and make sure you check them out. I never got photos of our actual crab, just our table at home halfway through. I do recommend going early so that you have a wide selection of sizes.

The crabs were good and meaty. Front window service was okay. I will be back to buy more crabs and also give them an opportunity to get 5 stars. The sign on the inside says credit and cash. However, when I arrived the guy at the front said cash only. There is an atm in the liquor store next door. I read that several other customers reported arriving with credit and was told cash only because the card system was down. So just a tip... make sure you bring cash.

OMG. HOW DID I NOT KNOW I LIVED 10 MINUTES FROM THE BEST CRAB HOUSE IN MARYLAND?! The experience from start to finish was nothing short of amazing! This was my first time visiting and I was and still am, super pleased with the service and quality of the crabs. We asked a few folks if they'd been here before and SEVERAL people made it a point to share that some of them drive FORTY-FIVE minutes just to get these crabs. Let me tell y'all, it's justified! I purchased 2 dozen large female crabs; Baby them thangs was HEAVY! They were so hot and juicy we said F*ck it we'll snap pics next time we just wanted to dig in LOL. Crabs Down Under will be seeing a lot of me this summer and beyond lol. Well done fam!

There is however a dress code which comes as a surprise given it's not a super fancy restaurant imo. Granted I have never seen anyone come dressed short of nice and presentable so I'm unsure how strict they are about it. Food wise, we got calamari for the table and this time I got the crab imperial. I was skeptical because I always get the crab cakes and I was unsure how I would like it given how heavy it sounded but it was delicious! I have to say I preferred it over the crab cakes 1) price point 2) quantity of lump crab meat 3) enjoyable throughout as it was not dry so it paired nicely with the sides.

We got there around 4:30pm and was seated immediately. Our server Koya explained our options and took our order right away. We both got a seafood boil with snow crabs legs, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and boiled eggs. She got mussels with her boil and I opted to get extra shrimp and add broccoli instead of the mussels. She got the mild lemon pepper flavor and I got the mild garlic butter. Everything came out nice and hot and seasoned well. My goddaughter said the mussels were a bit on the salty side but everything else was good! It was a slow crowd so it was a chill vibe which I appreciated. Koya checked on us regularly and answered any questions that we had. They had the college basketball games (March Madness) on the TV's which added to the experience. It's BYOB which I will keep in mind for future visits as I plan to definitely return:)

I will patron this establishment again. I feel the management was not prepared for the magnitude of business in which they received on this day. There wasn't a lot of staff to handle the heavy workload of customers. When I walked in I was told 30 mins wait time in which I was seated right around that time frame. However there were a lot of angry customers because of the disorganization of the establishment. My waiter "Princess" was amazing! She was over worked but maintained her composure and attentiveness. The atmosphere was starting to read a little ghetto and very disorganized. There was only 2-3 waiters on such a busy day and the management was the host as he greeted customers , answered a busy phone line , took care of pick up orders and seat patrons. Where he messed up, was tryint to be several people at one time. He needed help badly, as other people were being seated before others that were waiting longer, ect. My food did not have a long wait time after i placed my order and the flavors and quality of the food was sooooo good !! Another tip, they are BYOB(bring your own bottle) so if you want a drink you can bring it in with you. I thought that was cool, but me personally when I go to restaurants and eat inside, I like ordering drinks at the bar. They have a bar area but no alcohol there. Maybe the goal is to open a bar but they need a liquor store license? (Idk). All in all, I would not probably eat in again, but I will come back and get a to go order because as I said the food itself was amazing!

When I say this place has THEE BEST fried catfish and shrimp basket, I mean it!!!!…read more I visited my sister's house one weekend and her husband had a shrimp basket he bought from JKC. He didn't finish it and gave the rest to me. By that time, the shrimp and Cajun fries were cold- AND STILL DELICIOUS! I ate the whole thing and promised myself that I would make a visit to get my own basket. Just a few days later, I did what I said and visited Juicy King. It's in a convenient location in the Putty Hill Plaza. It is housed in the former Peking House restaurant. I made a call to put my order in. The woman over the phone told me that it would be ten minutes. When I arrived, it was ready for me. The meal comes with two sauces, cocktail & tartar sauce, along with salt, pepper and ketchup. When I took a bite of the catfish, words couldn't describe how crispy and delicious this fish was. So light and flavorful! The shrimp were as tasty as the first time, even more so that I ate them hot. The fries were perfectly seasoned. So, so perfect. They give you perfect portions, as well! This is definitely my favorite thing on the menu. I turned my sister and mom onto them and they both agreed on how awesome the fish and shrimp box was! Now for my third trip, I had a taste for hibachi and remembered that Juicy King had a hibachi menu. I decided upon the shrimp, chicken and steak. I believe it was about 30 dollars. It was pretty good BUT not as good as another restaurant (that I won't name out of respect), that makes a similar dish. However, it wasn't bad, and the ingredients were fresh. The restaurant isn't fancy, but it is clean and nice enough to sit down for lunch or dinner. I'm getting hungry thinking about their fish and shrimp right now! You will not be sorry. Highly recommended!
