We shared a few items from their menu: Creole Shrimp Boat (sauteed shrimp, mussels, jumbo lump crab meat, and the fish of the day simmered in a fire roasted red bell pepper sauce, with Creole rice and the vegetable of the day); Hot Cat Stack (fried catfish stacked with sweet and savory Andouille sausage cornbread, spicy crawfish red pepper meunière, honey chive compound butter, hot honey, and the vegetable of the day); a half rack of ribs (slow roasted ribs, Louisiana dry rub seasoning, mopped in BBQ sauce, mashed potato, and the vegetable of the day); and a strawberry bread pudding. Everything was delicious. I liked every course we had, but the Hot Cat Stack was wow. I've had a lot of bad to blah bread puddings in my life, but Ethel's wasn't bad or blah. Eventually, a young African American female staff member came from the back with my order and placed it next to me without any verbal acknowledgment. When I sought clarification regarding my order, she did not respond or engage with my question. Instead, her gestures suggested that I should leave without further discussion. This lack of customer service and communication is concerning, particularly for disabled war veterans. Based on this experience, I am unlikely to return or recommend this location to others. I encourage you to review any available video footage from that evening to address this issue.
