I recently had the opportunity to visit Crab Grabber in Pasadena, and it was a great experience from beginning to end. When my daughter and I sat down, they brought us popcorn as this fun little gesture, almost like a signal saying, it's about to be a movie. It set a playful, welcoming vibe right away. From there, the owner welcomed us like family and made us feel right at home. That kind of genuine hospitality goes a long way, and it set the tone for the entire meal. We started with the crab boil, bold seasoning, cooked just right, And then the stewed fish. Honestly, I can't stop thinking about both of them. I go back and forth in my head, late at night thinking about how soon I can go back and which one I'll get again. It's a true toss-up. Both were that memorable. We also had the duck, which was rich, tender, and full of flavor, along with the beef and green onions that were savory and satisfying. The chicken was so crispy and fresh, It felt like someone's grandma was back there in the kitchen cooking it. Every dish came out beautifully presented and well prepared. Portions were generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. What really stood out beyond the food, was the atmosphere. It doesn't feel like just a place to eat, it feels like a place to relax, connect, and enjoy the moment. If you're looking for a Chinese fusion spot in Pasadena that delivers on food, service, and overall vibe, Crab Grabber is absolutely worth checking out. Food, five out of five. Service, five out of five. Ambiance, five out of five. Overall, 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend read more

Been seeing this place called Crab Grabber all over my feed--it's in East Pasadena right off Rosemead Blvd. So glad there's finally a solid spot for Cajun-style seafood without the crazy Boiling Crab wait times! Parking is easy and free in the back lot. What really stands out here is their sauce selection. Beyond the usual Cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper, they also have combo sauces and even a Chongqing spicy mala option. We went with the two-person combo and added snow crab legs, choosing the "mix of all above" sauce--it's definitely the closest I've had to that classic Boiling Crab flavor. The snow crab legs were juicy, meaty, and soaked up the sauce perfectly. But the real surprise was the unlimited sides bar! They have a whole spread of Chinese braised snacks like duck heads, duck necks, duck feet, and pork ears, plus really legit stir-fried dishes. The owner has been making Sichuan-style braised dishes for decades, and you can tell--everything tastes authentic and flavorful. They also offer complimentary red bean soup, mung bean soup, ice jelly, and taro sweet soup to help cool down from the spice. Such a nice touch! If you're craving seafood but also want great Chinese sides in a chill, no-wait environment, this is your spot. Definitely coming back soon! read more

Crab Grabber in Pasadena is such a fun spot if you're craving a Chinese-style seafood boil! The interior is spacious, casual, and perfect for coming with family or a group of friends. I really liked the Chinese-inspired touches throughout the restaurant it feels different from the typical Cajun seafood boil spots. The seafood came out hot, fresh, and covered in a super flavorful sauce. Everything was well-seasoned, saucy, and really satisfying, especially when you mix all the seafood together and let it soak up the flavor. The portions are generous and definitely made for sharing. What makes this place stand out is that they don't only serve seafood boil. They also have Chinese comfort dishes like tea-smoked duck, chow mein, and other specialties, so you can mix seafood with traditional Chinese flavors in one meal. The unlimited buffet line with side dishes and desserts was also a nice bonus. Overall, Crab Grabber is a great Pasadena spot for anyone who loves seafood boil but wants something a little different with a Chinese twist. Tasty food, big portions, lots of variety, and a fun meal to enjoy with a group! read more

This is a new spot, open just 2 weeks. I've seen them working on the place for months. Obviously a family endeavor, I really want them to succeed, so I'm writing an honest review. First of all, the service was endearingly attentive. Everyone there really, really wants you to be happy. We went in for a to-go order, but after being seated with water and welcomed to the appetizer bar, I called my wife and daughter in to sit down and eat. The ambiance is almost upscale, but definitely not cozy. Open and well-lit, it's more family-oriented than a date-night destination. We had the boil for two with Cajun sauce, snow crab and shrimp. While it was good, but it could have been better. There was a sharpness to the sauce that I think came from raw garlic. A quick saute would solve that problem. The sauce also lacked the saltiness expected with a seafood boil. Some Tony Chachere's on the table would let people salt (and season) to their preference. I'm from New Orleans, so just trust me on this. But these are minor quibbles. We'll be back in a few months, and look forward to visiting again. read more

Delicious Food & Great Service at Crab Grabber! My family and I had an amazing meal at Crab Grabber in Pasadena! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and the place was really clean and inviting...always a good sign! My mom ordered the shrimp, crab legs, corn, rice, and egg boil with lemon, and she was absolutely quiet once those gloves went on! She said everything had so much flavor, and she couldn't stop going in for more. I think that's a good sign it was delicious! We all enjoyed the Jasmine tea , it was super refreshing and perfect alongside the seafood. I opted for the vegetable chow mein noodles and vegetable egg rolls, and both were fantastic! If you're not a fan of eggs, just be sure to let them know about the noodles ahead of time. Other than that, the flavors were on point, and I couldn't stop eating. The customer service was top-notch! Friendly and attentive, which really made the experience even better. I definitely recommend this spot if you're craving a flavorful seafood boil or just want some tasty noodles and rolls. Just tried the new seafood spot in Pasadena and it definitely lived up to the hype. Stopped by Crab Grabber and loved that they offer both seafood boils and Chinese food under one roof. We started at the buffet bar with spicy tofu, kimchi, duck feet, and other appetizers before digging into the main event. The seafood boil combo came loaded with snow crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and broccoli, all coated in a flavorful sauce that had the perfect balance of spice and butter. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. The shrimp fried rice was another standout--wok-fried with great flavor and a generous amount of shrimp. It's not often you find a place that can do both a solid seafood boil and satisfying Chinese comfort food, but Crab Grabber pulls it off. The combination of Cajun-style seafood and Chinese dishes makes it a fun spot for groups with different cravings. If you're in the Pasadena area and can't decide between seafood and Chinese food, this place gives you the best of both worlds. I'll definitely be back for another seafood feast. read more

There's also garlic shrimp and cucumber, and spicy and sour seaweed! I've already gotten my money's worth just from the braised dishes alone! read more

We ordered the $78 spicy seafood combo for four and went with extra spicy -- seriously addictive! The seafood was fresh and sweet, and the numbing, spicy sauce made it even better. We also tried the peppercorn chicken, fried soft-shell crab, and xiaolongbao. The chicken was flavorful with big, tender pieces, and the fried soft-shell crab was amazing -- crispy outside, soft inside. The free side dishes and duck items were a huge highlight -- generous, well-seasoned, and definitely not an afterthought. Finished with ice jelly, super satisfying. Clean environment, friendly service, and a great spot for authentic spicy flavors. Highly recommend! read more

I was really looking forward to trying this shrimp boil because of all the hype, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The water had an unpleasant taste, almost like fish tank water, which immediately threw everything off. The shrimp was mushy instead of firm and fresh, and the boiled egg tasted old, I couldn't even eat it. Overall, the experience wasn't worth the hype or the price. I was hoping for bold flavor and freshness, but it missed the mark for me read more

The crab and shrimp are super fresh and tender, and on top of that, they offer a bunch of complimentary appetizers and dessert soups.
