Nice waitress and very clean restaurant. Portions are more than average, food was decent. Needs more flavor. Wish we knew there were tomatoes on the eggs Benedict as it made it extra soggy. Middle of the road.

This is truly a cozy little place to visit. No parking? Park in the library which is across the street. We walked into a dining room filled with all walks of life. We could sit anywhere. Our waitress came with the menu after a few minutes. Mugs hung on the wall so you could grab any for coffee. We aren't coffee drinkers so we opted for water. The menu was pretty extensive. Cinnamon rolls, pierogis, to biscuits and gravy. I ordered the special plate which consisted of 2 eggs, hash brown potatoes, toast, and 2 sausage patties while my husband ordered pancakes, sausage links, and 2 eggs. What bothered me was that a family of 3 and a couple that came after us got their orders before us and they ordered basically the same thing. When I got my plate, an over-easy egg was already burst open with the yolk spilling over the hash browns. I also found a piece of egg shell in my eggs. The sausage tastes like store bought. Our waitress never, not even once, came to check on us or refilled our drink. They spent a lot of their times chatting with the other diners. Probably regulars. We ate our meal nonetheless and paid for the check, which they handed to us when they brought over the food. No thank you. No see you again. We just walked out. Nothing about the breakfast was special or worth returning for.

Racks of assorted coffee cups and shelves of decor adorn the walls.

$16.33 for a hearty lunch for two. We also purchased a gift card for a friends teen who will be attending college here. The ambiance is what makes this the spot to sit back, relax, get into conversations with locals if wanted or just enjoy your meal. A small diner with all the trimmings of WI. The roast beef special came with roast beef, white bread, mashed potatoes a sample gravy. The meatloaf came with a sturdy slice of meat loaf, mashed potatoes, ample gravy and crisp corn kernels and a buttered bun. Both meals were delicious. The meat loaf was a tad salty for my taste but I appreciated the perfectly cooked corn and enough gravy to not leave me with plain mashed potatoes. Comfort food that leaves you satisfied. I took a molasses/oatmeal raisin cookie to go that went well with my ice tea. If we lived in the area we would bringing our out of town friends here all the time.

Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and the place was packed. Sign said home cooking what could be better. It is a cozy place with a counter, booths and a few tables. Menu is not that big but has the right things. I had the biscuit and gravy with scrambled and a a side of ham. Biscuit gravy was thick with crumbled sausage, not links cut into slices. The scrambled eggs standard and the ham was not off the bone. Over all it was good and if I lived here hit would be a breakfast spot. It felt like a small town down home place.

The pierogi were massive and excellent! It's a typical American diner and the price is definitely right. Will definitely try again.

    It's cozy, It's homey.

When you consider the food prices, the credit card fee, and the taste of the food itself, it's hard to even give this place 3 out of 5 stars and call it "average." I hate giving lower reviews, especially to smaller businesses, but this place needs some work. I'm going to write the kind of honest review I wish I would have seen before going here. To start, the prices are quite high. For what they're charging, I expected much better food. On top of that, they also charge a credit card fee, which means they are passing that cost onto the customer in addition to the high menu prices. That alone is an immediate negative for me. The ambience of the place itself isn't bad. It's a larger restaurant, and the curved door and circular shape are actually kind of cool. It's also cool having TVs all around. We were there on a Saturday night, and it was pretty slow. That said, if the locals have been here before, I can understand why it was slow, given the food quality and prices. I got the 1/2 Tequila BBQ Burger, and it was pretty boring. I can make much better burgers at home. It needed better seasoning, or really just any seasoning at all. The tequila bbq sauce was fine, but it mostly tasted like very sweet barbecue sauce. I got waffle fries with my order, and they were also just fine. Someone else at our table got the beer-battered fries, and those were much better. I do want to give them credit there. The beer-battered fries were actually quite good. I asked my wife and sister what they thought of their meals, and both of them were incredibly disappointed. My wife got a salad with chicken, and it was very boring. Again, it was something we could make better at home for cheaper. My sister got the salmon, and she was not impressed at all. I read through some of the other reviews, and I think a lot of them may be from locals, whereas I was just visiting town. But I agree with many of the negative points people have made, and I've already said it here: the food just isn't good, especially considering the prices they're charging. I'd recommend looking for a different restaurant in the area. If management happens to read this review, I think they could improve things by reviewing the quality of the food they're serving and working to improve the overall taste. Otherwise, they should consider lowering prices to better match the quality of the food. The portion sizes were good, and that is another thing I do want to give them credit for. At the end of the day, maybe we just didn't order the right things, but no one at our table enjoyed their meal enough to want to go back. This place needs a lot of work, and I hope they have better success in the future. Next time we are in town, though, we will be going somewhere else.

My brother had the perch fish fry and I had the bluegill special. We were happy with the coating, taste and temperature of the fish--no fishy flavor. Both came with soup or salad, coleslaw, bread and cracker basket, choice of potato, and dessert. Spumoni ice cream was a choice and what a treat. Rarely see that as an option. Other dessert options were bread pudding, tapioca pudding and vanilla ice cream with the option of chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Service was prompt and friendly. The coffee was nothing special, but the refills kept coming without us having to ask. Back in the day, we used to come here if we wanted leftovers for another meal. Happy to say that still holds true. A favorite of the locals for decades, this family restaurant provides generous portions in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. The closest thing to a Greek restaurant there is in the area. A good place to relax and unwind, but if you're looking for a fancy, upscale place with creative, gourmet cooking, go elsewhere.

We have eaten here many times in the past and were happy with the food and service. Lately though…read morethe place has gone downhill. A few months ago we went for dinner and I had the Caesar Salad with chicken which was always delicious. Not that time. Instead of romaine lettuce, the Caesar (which is supposed to be ROMAINE) was made with horrible iceberg lettuce, and it was all limp and soggy before the dressing was even added. Last night I ordered the Turkey dinner which was one of their Sunday specials, only to be told they were out. We were not told when seated that the Turkey dinner was out, or I would have looked at the menu and chose something else. The waitress did not inform us until others at our table had already ordered. I took a chance and ordered the Caesar Salad with chicken and mentioned to the waitress that the last time it was not made with Romaine, and she said she'd make sure it was. Well, the salad did have Romaine, but that was all that was correct for the salad. There were NO cucumbers (which I love about their salad), croutons or parmesan cheese (which are also a standard for this salad) and the tomatoes were horrible! The few tomato slices were yellow and white, totally inedible. As I was eating I discovered that they had the gall to add green peppers to a Caesar Salad. OMG. I hate green peppers! I took them all off and gave them to my husband. We told the waitress but she said they were apparently out of cucumbers and cheese. You would think they could have offered to comp the salad considering so much was wrong with it. Nope. If a restaurant is out of an ingredient that is essential for a recipe, the customer should be told ahead of time, instead of just exchanging it with something else that the customer might not like. My husband had the Spinach Blue Wrap which is supposed to smothered in Bleu Cheese. There was no Bleu cheese in the wrap but swiss used instead. We were so disappointed!!!!
