The name of this restaurant is beyond fitting! The Cozy Kitchen is indeed a very cozy, homie, and dare I say nostalgic kind of diner. The staff were as friendly as they can be and made us feel like regulars, regardless of it being our first time in. We visited for a late breakfast with multiple kids (4 years and younger). The staff kept all the adults caffeinated and went above and beyond to make sure the kids had a great experience! (Ie, making sure they had drinks, plenty of napkins, and ever some cookies after they ate) The food was all very good! The table got a verity of options and all plates were left empty. You can really tell that this dinner puts in effort with their food. They even offered numerous HOMEMADE baked goods like breads, pies, cakes and cookies that's to their on-site baker. I will be returning to cozy kitchen in the future whenever I am in town visiting family. I highly recommend you visit if you're looking for someplace cozy to eat. read more

Small, quaint place downtown - able to park on street. Well run establishments- one server out front and she rocked it. Tables for 2 or four- and counter service. Solid breakfast- eggs cooked just as ordered- no complaints. Love a runny egg- and dip their homemade toast in it- yum! Mexican scramble was tasty - chorizo not greasy. Cozy is code for "crowded" in this particular case. All of the tables are PACKED in to the point that walking to the restrooms can be challenging. Also, if you plan on dining with more than four people, be prepared to take over two tables, and they don't have anything larger than a four top. This is truly a cozy little place to visit. No parking? Park in the library which is across the street. We walked into a dining room filled with all walks of life. We could sit anywhere. Our waitress came with the menu after a few minutes. Mugs hung on the wall so you could grab any for coffee. We aren't coffee drinkers so we opted for water. The menu was pretty extensive. Cinnamon rolls, pierogis, to biscuits and gravy. I ordered the special plate which consisted of 2 eggs, hash brown potatoes, toast, and 2 sausage patties while my husband ordered pancakes, sausage links, and 2 eggs. What bothered me was that a family of 3 and a couple that came after us got their orders before us and they ordered basically the same thing. When I got my plate, an over-easy egg was already burst open with the yolk spilling over the hash browns. I also found a piece of egg shell in my eggs. The sausage tastes like store bought. Our waitress never, not even once, came to check on us or refilled our drink. They spent a lot of their times chatting with the other diners. Probably regulars. We ate our meal nonetheless and paid for the check, which they handed to us when they brought over the food. No thank you. No see you again. We just walked out. The roast beef special came with roast beef, white bread, mashed potatoes a sample gravy. The meatloaf came with a sturdy slice of meat loaf, mashed potatoes, ample gravy and crisp corn kernels and a buttered bun. Both meals were delicious. The meat loaf was a tad salty for my taste but I appreciated the perfectly cooked corn and enough gravy to not leave me with plain mashed potatoes. Comfort food that leaves you satisfied. Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and the place was packed. Sign said home cooking what could be better. It is a cozy place with a counter, booths and a few tables. Menu is not that big but has the right things. I had the biscuit and gravy with scrambled and a a side of ham. Biscuit gravy was thick with crumbled sausage, not links cut into slices. This us a local meal place for retirees and people who work downtown. The soups are always good and the dinner plate daily specials are filling and affordable. I had the cream of potato soup and a cup of chili. Both were good, diner style offerings. It's a cold day and the soup came good n' hot at 10:30 in the morning. This place is and always has been frequented by people on fixed incomes. The wait and cooking staff is attentive and polite to everyone. Hidden gem is right! I visited here from Chicago, I was looking for a neighborhood restaurant with a diner-type feel and this was it. Cozy (no pun intended!) and quaint inside with that comfort food appeal. I ordered the Patty Melt with fries & it was perfectly grilled, the meat was fresh & the grilled onions were chopped instead of stringy. Even though I was full I had to order the homemade blueberry crunch pie, and it was to die for! The best thing about this place, besides the food of course, is that it won't break your bank. Fun place with all the cups and random decorations. Standard menu but with CHEAP prices. We ate for $20, with tip and coffee. I got the corned beef hash and it was delicious. Louisiana hot sauce on the side, yes please! Get the homemade white toast for 25 cents extra, ha. Very good and a no brainer to slop the corned beef, hash browns, and scrambled eggs on to it.
