Was sitting there on the patio having a nice lunch when they turned on cyclonic fans. Now mind you the paddle fans were already on, but they have a half dozen high power fans on the wall pointed toward the tables. It was not only noisy, but the wind was very bothering. We asked 2 of the waitstaff to turn the cyclones off, but no action (we werent the only ones complaining), so I had to go find the restaurant manager who said he couldn't turn off the fans. What the hell? We picked up our own plates and moved to a table out of the was of the fans. Dumbass manager ruined an otherwise nice meal for at least 2 tables. read more

Quiet, cozy, and relaxing! Not what you would expect when you hear wine bar as there isn't actually a "bar" to sit at. The food was great, had the black bean tostados with ground buffalo meat and they were delicious! Definitely going back to try some of the other menu items. An enjoyable experience. The place has nice ambiance and is comfortable. A nice change of pace in an area that doesn't have a whole lot of options. I will go again. I had the red snapper with julienne veggies cooked in parchment paper. It was very tasty. My dinner partner had the buffalo burger. His first. He said it was good but nothing special about buffalo and would prefer a regular burger next time. But the bison burger LOOKED amazing on a yummy roll with mushrooms and onions and cheese. Very juicy. They offer some interesting beers which is fun and a good wine list. Our waitress Annie was very friendly and attentive. It was raining the night we went so we ate inside but there is a nice covered dining patio out back. Would be a nice place for a meal on a good day! BEWARE THE OWNER!! My sisters and I headed down to Montgomery to celebrate birthdays. We were having a wonderful day and decided to eat lunch at the Cozy Grape. I have an auto immune disorder and eating out is very difficult, so I usually order a salad with just about everything taken off save the greens and fruit. I carry a pouch of tuna to put on it. I do this just about everywhere I go. We spent over $100 on lunch, mine alone costing $15. As we laughed and took pictures on the front porch of the restauraunt, the owner came bursting out the door, and while holding the door open for the entire restaurant to hear, verbally assaulted us, furious that I had brought "outside food"--even though I made it very clear to our very nice waiter the situation. I have never been so embarrassed or humiliated. He was so rude. A quiet, "Hey thanks for dining with us, but in the future, please be advised that is our policy that no outside food is allowed." While I tried to apologize he refused to listen and abruptly walked off...again so over the top and rude. There are 5 people who will never return as well as anyone we know, nor recommend. In one word: ADDICTION! On our latest trip we had: a couple of orders of the grilled to perfection giant gulf shrimp parsley pesto app that dreams are made of with the crispy, crunchy baguette. I cannot get enough of this dang appetizer! We went there just for that but after hearing the dinner special I just had to take it a step further and get... The Red Fish special which MUST be added to the menu! Fresh julienne veggies over Red Fish perfection! topped with a white sauce that sounds almost heavy but was so delicate that it was clean on the palete, with jasmine rice on the side to help sop up that sauce that I almost licked off my plate! I'm serious, I didn't want to give up a single drop! Our table also had the balsamic chicken dinner which is very good and also an addiction to my son who ordered it! We finished up with very good New York style cheese cake. Very nice. On previous occasions we've had: The french onion soup....YOU HAD ME AT FIRST SPOONFUL! By far the best onion soup I've ever tasted. The chicken enchiladas...addicted! The trout...OMG sooooo good Salmon...delish! The escargot...yup! escargot in downtown MONTGOMERY and it is a MUST HAVE! The kalamata olive spread appetizer....can't get enough! The goat cheese salad...OK stop the presses!...this thing is TOTAL addiction and has enough goat cheese baguettes for two to share comfortably but I don't let anyone get close enough to mine to steal a taste! My son is addicted to the buffalo burger and he likes it so much that he doesn't want beef burgers anymore! Sliders....YUP! Especially if you are trying out the many awesome specialty beers you won't find elsewhere! Fish tacos! seriously...SERIOUSLY not to be passed up! Apple tarte that is a slice of heaven on a plate topped with vanilla ice cream Oh and a home made brownie that will satisfy the chocolate lover in anyone! The list goes on...try it for a weekend brunch type thing and you will still be sitting there come dinner time eying up what you want to order for dinner! What an amazing little gem in lil ole Montgomery that was a long time coming and we are SO glad they're here! FINALLY! LOVE the wine list...too many good choices to stick to the same ones every time! The atmosphere is great. Casual Montgomery but you can dress according to your party and not feel out of place especially in the dining room which has a lovely atmosphere without being stuffy. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful when it comes to ordering. The prices are very good considering the quality and we are very fortunate to have them in town. Give it a try. Wow. Great Restaurant ..Great Service and wonderful selections of entrees. I was truly impressed and did select a seafood dish of Shrimp and angel hair pasta with pesto . The waitstaff was very attentive and kept the water glasses filled and kept checking to see if we needed anything. She was knowledgeable about the selections for the evening. There was a great wine selection at this restaurant. The friend I went with ordered a wonderful salad of which there was an ample portion. The seafood entree I ordered was brought promptly to the table and the food was warm and presentation of the food was wonderful. It was a most wonderful dining experience. The absolute best place to eat around the lake. The menu is great and so are the daily lunch and weekend specials. The brunch is unlike anything else even close to Montgomery. The enchiladas with the fried egg on top are amazing and so are the omelettes and crepes. The French onion soup is a must try anytime. Staff are friendly and knowledge about the food and wine. Like the name says, it's a cozy atmosphere and a refreshing change from all the same restaurants we have had around here. read more

We must have picked an off day at Cozy Grape, because our experience was horrible. We were a group of 13, and had spoken with the owner well in advance so that they should have been expecting us. However, when we arrived at the expected time, it was a complete surprise to the manager. Tables were thrown together and we were crowded together like sardines. We were traveling with a bus driver, and although we asked if the driver's meal would be 'comped' several times, our harried server kept saying she would ask her manager, but never did. The service was excruciatingly slow. My particular lunch choice was mediocre; the roasted jalapeno soup lacked creaminess and had no texture. The cuban sandwich had pulled pork-an odd component to begin with- that appeared to have been infused with sage or some other spice that was almost overpowering. The mustard was almost absent. I will compliment Cozy Grape on their house wines, however. Everyone enjoyed their choices. Our biggest problems came as bills were being processed. Several of us had our credit cards charged for other's meals. And when we informed our server, she was utterly confused and perplexed. She told us that her manager had run the cards, and disappeared with the cards and the slips to "correct" them. Finally, I went to where this was supposedly occurring, and she was in tears. I asked where the manager was, and approached him, asking him what his role was in this and he told me, in no uncertain terms, to mind my own business! I asked his name multiple times, and he refused to tell me. I told him that he should not make our server cry, and he got in my face and told me he didn't need my business. I told him I planned on calling the owner. At some point he called me an unpleasant name, after which I told him that I would definitely be calling his owner. I guess this establishment does so very well with locals that "tourists' from the Spring area are not necessary for their business. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this restaurant, although the town of Montgomery was quaint and the boutique behind it was very welcoming. Maybe the political climate this nation is in has made it acceptable to insult paying customers, or maybe rudeness has taken over even in the service industry. Whatever the reason, I think it is appalling, and hopefully the owner will too when I call this weekend. read more

We gave this 4 stars but it could be a 5, We ate here for the first time on Friday after closing and immediately checked the box as a favorite place. My wife had the fish tacos and as with all the reviews they were great. I had the pesto shrimp which was just right, lightly flavored not to heavy but tasty. Word is apparently spreading fast about this terrific spot in Montgomery. On a busy Friday evening, it's good we arrived early or we would have been out of luck. Make a reservation if you're going on a weekend. All four at our table had something different and each of us was raving. The place has only been open since May and the servers definitely have their jobs down pat. They lavished us with attention and only one server drew a blank on a question regarding how a dish was prepared. The menu is an eclectic one and the chef/s definitely know what they're doing. Even the sides are special. The cheese tray we ordered for the table was a little spare for four but would be a perfect appetizer for two (delicious goat cheese!) We would have preferred the baguette be served in rounds rather then the larger planks; that would also improve the presentation and allow for more room on the small bistro-style tables. Surprisingly, there is no bar or even a waiting area. Maybe the owners will consider this addition as their reputation continues to grow quickly. We didn't see the back patio area (too hot!) but it may be perfect for dining when temps are cooler. There is definitely room for improvement regarding the acoustics. This place is really loud. In spite of the lovely, cozy decor....there has been little attention given to dampening the sound, forcing everyone to use their outside voices. Owners should consider linen tablecloths and napkins (serving the dual purpose of adding to the ambiance), drapes, rugs, even ceiling treatments. We'll be back. A group of 18 ladies including myself visited the Cozy Grape for lunch last weekend and we are ALL fans! I had the buffalo burger with mushrooms & cheese- it was one of the best, if not THE best burger I've ever had. It was juicy and flavorful, and the bun was a little sweet & delish- tasted like home baked. So yum. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their food as well, and the atmosphere was nice. Many of the ladies really loved the Petroni Chardonnay with their lunches. I look forward to returning to the Grape as soon as possible! read more

What Montgomery has been missing!!! Our family had grown tired of Montgomery's mexican food after mexican food establishments. This restaurant is our new hot spot.... AMAZING and affordable food - excellent service and a cozy and quaint atmosphere. The cheese tray - goat cheese and jalapeno kielbasa is a MUST. Whether you're in the mood for wine or beer - they have a good selection. If only they had dark beer selections on tap - it would be perfect! Also - recommend wine flights - so we can sample several before we decide on which bottle to purchase. I can't imagine this place getting a bad review - the only possible explanation is competitor jealousy. Try it - you won't leave disappointed. read more

Won't go back, but for the beer! The beer selection here is incredible. The waitstaff and owners aren't the friendliest though. We brought our kids with us and received the coldest glares from the staff and the patrons. They even placed us outside in the built on section, which removed us from the current patrons assuming we would be loud. My review from April 8th, 2015 has disappeared mysteriously, so I thought I'd rewrite it as I believe Cozy Grape patrons have the right to know how I was treated that evening of 4-8-15. Does this mean that Yelp can be paid off? My friends and I were at Cozy Grape for dinner, 6 total. Our waitress was not pleasant, which we overlooked thinking she was just having a bad day, we all do. She was un-attentive, at best, as the owner had to help her with our empty glasses, etc.... After receiving our 2nd glass of wine, we were shortly thereafter presented our bill. I politely asked if she would please separate the ticket for us as most of us did not have cash on hand. She rolled her eyes and sighed heavily and said "I'll try- who wants the $5 appetizer?" We helped her with the itemizing and after she left we all looked at each other with disbelief. Four of my friends left right after paying their bill. When the waitress came to retrieve our payments, I stood up to discreetly let her know I was sorry if we appeared rude in asking for a split, but normally when we go out we're asked if we'd like it all on one bill or split. Waitress said, "Well, NORMALLY, my customers ask ME to split the bill if that's what they want" and I told her we would have, had we known our evening was over because she never asked if there was anything else she could get us, but instead just presented us with one bill. Her reply was, "Ive been a waitress for 10 years and I don't need you to tell me how to do my job". I sat down in disbelief and said , "You know, maybe I don't need to come back here again". Her reply stunned me further, "Well, maybe I'll make sure you're not WELCOME here again". She walked away so I stood up to go speak to the owner. He had no control whatsoever of this employee as she continued to verbally attack me. I never raised my voice once. I told her I had left her a 20% tip to let her know we were not being unreasonable and valued her services, such as it was, and she told me she didn't want a "PITY TIP" and would give it back. Meanwhile, the owner kept pleading with his employee "Enough Camile, enough". She taunted me with more verbal attack and used choice profanity as I walked out of the restaurant. I am still appalled I never received an apology from her or explanation of why the owner allowed this to happen as I have been a repeat patron of this restaurant since they opened and raved about it. I obviously couldn't be PAID to step foot in there again, unlike Yelp who can obviously be paid to remove my review!! Too bad this happened, I have a sweet friend who works there and this is no reflection on her!! read more

Although I have always had good food here it seems something is slipping. Yesterday I had the salmon pasta special which consisted of a dry pile of vegetables and salmon on a heaping pile of pasta with no sauce on it. I complained how poor it was and got no response but the bill for $18 dollar meal. Poor food and even worse customer service. read more

CG is our go to place for girls night out. The owners are amazing and attentive. I have not had one dish I didn't care for. My favorite is the goat cheese... Chicken noodle soup.... Enchiladas... This place has become my new favorite. The food is sooo good. BUT, please please please listen to this review...get rid of the sour waitresses. One was evidently the daughter of the friend of the owner. Sour face, tossing items across the bar, complaining in front of guests about other guests. She never acknowledged anyone with eye contact. He even put down our reservation wrong and had the audacity to tell us "Maybe you should double check your reservations" as if it was our fault.
