perfect place to grab bite after a show or cocktails. open late, attentive staff, and a great vibe inside. loved loved the quesadilla. the pork was well seasoned and the cheese pull had my mouth watering

Great restaurant that represented the beautiful neighborhood of Pilsen well. The food came out very fast, and was very good quality. I loved the food, and even for a picky eater, it was amazing and affordable. Also, the workers checked in the made sure everything was great.

This is one of my favorite hole in the wall spots and Pilsen. If you're looking for fast and affordable Mexican fair, this is the place. When reviewing business businesses like this, you have to review it for what it is. It's not a fancy place to sit down, it's a place to get decent Mexican food almost at anytime/day or night. I've always had good service here both in the restaurant and with delivery .

We stumbled upon Coyotes when we were looking for tacos at 2 a.m. Lengua, tripa, asada. Just SO simple and good. We came back the next night. If only I lived here!

Food was delicious fresh and just how I asked it to be made ..I ordered 3 steak tacos cilantro and onion shell well done and I appreciated the authentic flavor

The Green Room Tap recommended Coyote over some of the closer food options, so we took a walk. Small diner type setup, prompt friendly service. The prices on the menu were the first thing that stood out, more expensive than I was expecting. The food quality is the same as most mexican restaurants like this, nothing fancy, basic issue. The quality of the chips and salsa are usually a preview of the food to come.

Came by at 4AM after a show for a quick bite. Free chips and salsa were good . I got a Asada Gordita with a Jarritos - The steak was juicy and fresh, and it came with raw onions/cilantro. The pocket of masa holding everything together was okay. For the price, the portion was fair and the food was decent. I'd come back when looking for a chill late night spot for a snack.

For being open till 4:30, gave me Mexican Waffle House vibes. Was busy at 2-3am and our party of 8 got seated immediately. Most of us got tacos and while in the pricey side for 4.50 each they were pretty good. Came with chips and serve salsa was spicy.

Can we taco bout how much I can't wait to come back here LOL Late night taco spot with solid service and solid eats! Staff was all very friendly and everything is made fresh! I love that we can sit right by the grill and watch all the magic happen! Sure the awkward eye contact with the cooks can be strange but it's also oh so fun! Stopped by after a late night DJ set at a club and we were mildly hungry. I had the carne asada steak taco, Al pastor, and the lengua. They did NOT skimp on the meat and flavor. My friend got a tostada with nopales and steak and it was MASSIVE! My other friend got the carne en su jugo soup and it was what dreams are made of! Fried onions and fried bacon thats then grilled with steak then put into a big o bowl with broth and avocado!!! Rich and heavenly...absolute comfort in a bowl! Definitely can't wait to go back!

Idk know what this is, but it's not steak

We waited like 5 minutes for a table but were seated at a small two person booth/table. Our server was pretty busy but attentive and knew a lot about the menu. We ordered the wedge salad and the yellowtail sushi roll. It was spicy and had a nice touch of yuzu on top and the fish was relatively fresh. The wedge salad had plenty of dressing on it and it was pretty good. For the main we got the Chilean sea bass which was very sweet and savory. The scallops had a perfect sear and they were pretty very rich and buttery. The broccolini was steamed and fresh. He finished off dinner with the crème brûlée and the Keylime pie, both of us we had to take home because we were so full. I think overall this experience is pleasant, not something very memorable, but I'm happy I've came here!

My favorites were the crab cake, Cobb salad, and short rib. The crab cake was very soft and had a nice texture to it. It was one of the best crab cakes I've eaten. The Cobb salad was also very light and shareable. The short rib main course was very tender, and it came with crispy potatoes as well. Some of the other items such as the Philly cheesesteak and Asian tacos were just ok. They were also both very small in quantity relative to their price. The desserts were magnificent as well, especially the deconstructed key lime pie and sticky toffee pudding. Both of them were phenomenal. The service throughout my meal was excellent. My waitress gave us some nice recommendations, and the staff came by often. I would definitely recommend to visit Bar Mar, and I look forward to coming back myself when I am in Chicago.

We really admire Jose's philanthropic work and want to love his restaurants but truth be told, if you forget about the glitzy decor, the food is just average. We tried several appetizers; the Hamachi Cone, Caviar Cone, Asian Taco, Neptune's Pillows, Shrimp Cocktail and Iberico Jamon. We also shared a bottle of Cava. Everything was fine but to be frank the Shrimp Cocktail was the best thing we ate, simple and perfectly fresh. The service was pushy, when a server wants to take you order less than 3 minutes after sitting down, it feels like you're on a conveyor belt. We felt the prices were way out of line, with tip I spent almost $500 for a bottle of cava and appetizers for two people, for that, the food should have been more memorable. We spent the same amount for two off us to have the 12 course tasting menu at Atsumeru a couple of weeks ago and Bar Mar's food isn't in the same league. We will continue to financially support Jose's World Kitchen but not his restaurants.

Their burger is great with two thin patties. The veggies and pickles with it is delicious. The bun is pretty good. The fries was decent. His breakfast is so much better than mine though! I tried everything on his plate and it was good! After we finished our meal, we also took some nice pictures at the balcony which you can see all the way to the Field Museum area on a nice weather day. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Grant Park area. We actually visited the cloud gate, fountain, The cultural center, Target/5 below, comic stores, route 66 sign, Chicago stock exchange arch, and the art institution all in that trip. Very convenient! Their reservation opens 2 weeks before. If we ever go back to Chicago, we will definitely visit them again. Hopefully I will complete my Invisalign treatment and can actual eat more food!
