Amazing food, great attentive service. We got the cheese stuffed mushrooms as a starter and they were fantastic. I got the Local Burger and was very pleasantly surprised as well. I will be coming back again.

After 9 nights of camping we came into Lander at 6:15 pm on a Sat night. I had the Elk meal with a golden beer and my partner had a stunningly perfect "medium" steak. I was a little surprised at the price although it was food I do not have in my home, the service was delightful and it's in the middle of Wyoming.

Got into town later then planned. This is one of the few restaurants that were open after 9pm. We were seated quickly in the restaurant section, not the bar area. The decor is nice and the place is spotless. Super clean. Server was on point. I told her my food limitations and she accommodated them right away. I started with the mushrooms and got the chicken salad with Salmon substitute. My wife got a burger. The mushrooms were phenomenal! The salad was good. The salmon needed a bit more seasoning but it was still good. My wife really enjoyed her burger. Really pleased with this place and would come back for sure.

This place is expensive, but this place is worth it. They have beautiful outdoor dining and are connected to a bunch of other fabulous Lander restaurants/bars. Service was excellent and they brew their own beers (I think? Hard to tell if they ARE a brewery or just host a brewery?) Beers were solid, but not the type the blow your hair back and make you get 4 growlers to go. This place is expensive, but this place is worth it. I've eaten here a few times now, and if I had completed this review immediately after my first visit, I certainly would've given Cowfish 5 stars. I had the Pan-Fried Rainbow Trout and it was out-of-this-world. The crispy golden-brown trout laid upon artichoke hearts swimming in a lemon-garlic beurre blanc sauce was the best meal I have had at a restaurant in a long time. I was blown away by the depth of flavor and textures that one dish could have. I also thoroughly enjoyed their Half-Tanked Hefe, a wheat beer brewed in house. After my first trip, I couldn't stop thinking about that meal, and the next I went, lived up to my expectations. During the following visit I ordered the Beer Cheese Burger, which I found lacking in flavor and heavy on the bacon. My most recent trip, I got the trout once again, and this time something was off. The sauce was too sour and it was not quite as good. Throughout my trips here I have also gotten the side salad which tasted fantastic with pickled red onions and a white balsamic vinaigrette, though it was on the pricy side at $6. The desserts are decent here as well, but not as good as the main dishes. I enjoyed the cheesecake with blueberry compote and the carrot cake with candied carrots and walnuts, but they did not blow me away. Regardless, the food is great and the staff are as well. I typically sit at the bar and each bartender has been friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is terrific as well with the brewing area in the dining room as well as an outdoor section perfect for fall days. Overall, I think Cowfish is my favorite restaurant in Lander so far and I am sure I'll be back.

Delicious food. More pricey than your typical sit down place but that's expected for this area.

The service was good. But the food was all barely warm and small portions. It was very overpriced and nothing special.

Food is average and it's hit or miss on service. Would go back and try again, but for the price other places I prefer.

Well, if you are one of the coastal elite who have invaded the cowboy town that I've spent summers…read morein for over 50 years, you might like this place, otherwise, steer clear of it. On the positive side, their outside dining space is delightful. Shady, tree filled and charming. If you simply want a place for a coffee and a chat - enjoy! Now to the food. The menu seems overthought from the get go. Constant references to local, housemade etc. It tries to sell a certain experience but completely fails to deliver. My mom and I both opted for a simple grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of tomato bisque soup. Soup was solid if on the salty side. I almost have no words for how bad the simple grilled cheese was. No butter or oil of any kind on outside of sandwich. Cheese on inside was a slice of provolone and some scattered cheddar. Not even melted through. Tasted more like stale bread than grilled in anyway. Vessel for soup had such a small top opening that it was impossible to dip without cutting the sandwich beyond halves. (Isn't dipping what you order grilled cheese and tomato soup to do?) Water was never refilled at table despite two requests when they came by to refill coffee. My friends had a quinoa bowl with poached egg on top and the other a simple cheeseburger. Neither even finished half which tells me a lot. The friend who ordered a cheeseburger decided to try their "signature " sautéed spinach instead of fries as a side. His spinach side could have fit into a teaspoon. This place might appeal to the NOLA/girls with unshaven armpits crowd but for honest, hungry people- walk away. It's just a very bad presentation of cali style casual cuisine. BTW, four of us. Two grilled cheese/cup of tomato soup plates, two coffees, one quinoa bowl and one cheeseburger with a teaspoon of spinach- 100+ Unbelievable. The more I see all the gentrification of californication of Lander, the more I hate it and unfortunately, the Middle Fork pretty much sums up what is wrong with Lander's "emerging " food scene.

I previously reviewed this restaurant and loved it. Visited today and ordered the exact same…read morebreakfast featured in my earlier review (2 eggs to order). It was awful. Potatoes were burnt, scrambled eggs overdone and rubbery, spinach slimy and greasy. If that's still "locally sourced" bacon they should save themselves some money and go to Safeway. Solidly underwhelming experience. Will not be returning.

At this bakery, you can choose from sweets to salads, to coffee to wine, and everything in between. On this particular day, I decided on a childhood favorite - grilled cheese. But this was the grown up version, that I had twice. Yes, that is how much I enjoyed it. If you love bread, love cheese, love pesto and tomatoes, well put that all together and you'll completely dive into the bakery grilled cheese. Put your phone down, grab some napkins and indulge. P.S. - I've been to this bakery several times. Over the course of my visits, I ordered 2 salads, bought a cookie and had 2 flavored lattes.

Last time visited, at 10am and 3/4 of their menu wasn't available, which defeats the purpose of a menu ! We made a mistake to stay and order some soup, which we received cold, because they forgot to let us know that it is ready to be picked up. The soup was absolutely watered down and tasteless, the bread was stale. Why even to run a business without reliable operating hours, lack of availability, poor food quality and non existing customer service ?!
