It took 10 minutes for someone to greet us and that's only because we got up and said something. Food was average at best. Apps were on happy hour and good thing cause they wouldn't have been worth full price. Potato skins were dry. Pretzels and boneless wings were ok. Sloppy Joe's sliders had a BBQ sauce taste to them which we didnt care for. Pulled pork sandwich was ok. There were some fatty bits of meat and the tater tots were over-fried and not worth the $3 upcharge. Mushroom Swiss burger was basic as well with hardly any mushrooms. There was absolutely no vibe inside. The floor was littered with used napkins. It was all a shame too cause it's a good sized space with plenty of parking in a good location but it just didn't work out. read more

Visited today to see a favorite musician of ours play, and he was fantastic! The service was slow and took a few reminders to bring water, silverware, plates...they were kind though. Food was very subpar. At least edible, but the wings were 3/4 breading and 1/4 chicken and the pizzas were just over cheesed with saltine crust. The bathrooms are also abysmal. They need some major attention to bring them up to a suburban restaurant standard. Reminds me very much of the college bars you'd go to when you're 21, except it's Plymouth and the local clientele have kids and are in their 40s. read more

First time visit - 4 stars. I like Cowboy Jacks. I'd classify them as a high end bar/restaurant, with a cowboy theme, that pays a lot of extra attention to their food and menu. This is the second location I've checked out. I like the décor, the service was excellent, and the food was good. I also really like the life sized metal horse sculpture outside (see photo). I started things off with Cowboy Jack's Wings. The wings were good. For the entree, we both ordered the Ribeye Special, featuring a 16 ounce cut of beef. The steaks had great flavor and they were cooked-to-order perfectly. LOW CARBOHYDRATE: It was easy to eat low-carb, keto, carnivore-style at Cowboy Jacks. The wings & the steaks definitely worked. My only complaint is you can't get the meat "a la carte" and they force you to purchased plant based sides. I got 2 sides of french fries and I fed them to the squirrels in my backyard at home...I didn't want a big starch bomb that would definitely spike the heck out of my glucose and my insulin levels. No thanks! So the sides were a complete waste for both of us. Overall, I had a nice experience at Cowboy Jacks. As a carnivore, I probably wouldn't go back and I'd just grill a giant 2 inch thick Prime ribeye at home for half the price of a restaurant. Came here with some friends that live in the area to watch college football after a gopher game! This location of Cowboy Jacks is very small compared to the others - but we didn't mind. It was raining, but they had a cute outdoor patio with a fire pit that I would love to visit in the future. The six of us were seated at a table right away, which was nice on a busy Saturday. We all ordered a round of drinks and they came pretty quickly. Our waitress was super friendly with us and it made the experience great! Every round was brought out quickly with a smile and a fun conversation. A friend of mine at the table also ordered the Caprese Flatbread, and it came out quick for a busy Saturday night. The flatbread was nothing special, just bar food, but it was tasty! The only downside is since this bar is smaller, it can get loud. At 9pm live music started and we had to leave because we couldn't hear ourselves think. It was also a little odd because the band sound checked for about 30 minutes before playing, so annoying loud instrumental sounds kept playing and we were super confused. I go to Cowboy Jacks often, especially in the summertime, and this location was just okay compared to other locations in the Twin Cities. I like to go during happy hour because they have the best HH deals in town. Half price on select appetizers (marked with a little symbol in the menu) and $2 taps & rails from 3-6pm or after 10pm every day of the week. I expect this time to always be busy however, the Plymouth location seems to not handle the high volume as well as the other Cowboy Jacks' I've been to. Their wait staff don't seem to communicate very well and the service is slow. If you're trying to snag a patio seat during busy times, best of luck and try to go early. We came in and waited for nearly 20 minutes before someone even came over to us to ask if we wanted to be seated indoors or outdoors. We requested outdoors and it took another 10 minutes for someone to come back and tell us that the tables were all full. At this point, there was a small line building behind us, and those customers also were hoping to sit outside, so it disappointed all of us. We ended up at the bar and the service there was a bit quicker, but I couldn't help but think the staff could be more attentive in general. It made it even more irritating that there was a customer at the bar trying to ask my friend what ethnicity I was; it made for an all around uncomfortable experience, and no one seemed to bat an eye at how weird he was being. I will stick to other Cowboy Jack's locations as they have the same happy hour as this one does. This one doesn't have anything special to offer, the staff move at snail speed, and their wings are good but you can easily get better wings at the other CJ's or elsewhere. Wednesday is burger night at Cowboy Jacks! Met an old friend for burgers and drinks and was hoping to catch up. Started out with wings, beers and sodas, they were quick and food arrived hot. Pretty good looking burger and sandwich menu and bar food sides. We had about a fifteen minute wait for a table. The place was hopping and was really loud making it tough to carry on a conversation. Three of us had the build your burger specials and a smoked brisket sandwich. Our sides included fries, broccoli, and sweet potato fries, they were average except the broccoli, which looked great. Service was very attentive to details and drinks were kept refilled. The parking lot was packed when we arrived but had almost completely cleared when we left. The service was great, food was average, but the environment was wrong. We went there to talk and that was hard to do. Maybe next time? read more

The crowd during happy hour in the early evening is OLDER men which is why I would never choose this place again. This really old guy sat at our table and kept staring at me at times when I was talking, it was extremely awkward and uncomfortable! It's hard to get a table at the bar during happy hour which is one of the downsides. The crowd might be a little younger in the summer when their patio opens but this place still would not be my first choice. I've also been here on a Sat. night and the crowd is mixed, older people + younger people... The drink specials are dirt cheap which is nice and it's convenient if you live in Plymouth. I would rather spend my evening at Cowboy Slims in Uptown since they have better music and a better crowd. read more

Worst service ever! We came in at the end of happy hour, and it took at least 20 minutes for our waitress to put in our order. At first, I thought it was because of the rush. But as the tables cleared out around us, I realized our waitress was awful and simply not attentive at all. At one point, another waitress asked us if we had been helped. That was the first red flag. I asked for a water three times and never got one from our waitress. I had to ask another server who bought out our food for a water, which she promptly provided me, which was about 40 minutes into my dining experience. The food was average -- very forgettable (and overpriced). Then our waitress took another 30 minutes to get us the bill after asking us how the bill was going to be paid. Honestly, one of my worst dining experiences ever. I've had better service from a buffet restaurant. read more

My boyfriend and I have been routinely coming here to eat and watch sports games for some weekend fun for about a year or so. The staff are incredibly friendly and our waitress, Kayli P, is incredibly accommodating and even remembered us to the second time we came back. Even when it's busy, food service is very quick and you can easily find a table with a good view of the many TVs in the restaurant area. My boyfriend loves all their burgers (they have amazing fries might I add!) and my favorites are either their Caesar salad, cheese pizza, or the BBQ chicken sliders. They have a great menu with great prices and I love the staff. They also have half price on select appetizers during happy hour! The staff has always been great, but our waitress Kayli has been awesome and is a very hard worker! We will be continuing to come to this Cowboy Jacks location in the foreseeable future, thank you to the wonderful staff who keep this place running smoothly! read more

I've been to Cowboy Jacks over a dozen times, yet, I can't possibly call it anything above "A-ok", it's really more like a "Meh" to me, but happens to be the closest bar (open past 11) to my shanty. The good: -$2 late night Happy hour - Free peanuts inside, and the right to throw shells on the floor -Cozy campfires inside and outside -Nice patio with bar service in the Summer -Nice football specials (like free taco bar at half time, or cheap wings....but they change often) -Neighborhood bar.... (sure, there's BW3, Old Chicago, and a couple other chains & hotels with lounges within a few miles, but this is pretty much IT for anything resembling nightlife in the immediate area) The Not so good: -Food is in no way impressive. I like the hot wings, but can think of a dozen better, and have never been impressed my any of the many other entrees and apps I've tried there. Portions are large, but always bland. -Entertainment: I'm not a fan of the live music they have on weekends. Country covers with enough cheese thrown in to get the girls to dance. Sometimes midweek beer-pong clubs (seasonal? Members only). -Annoying Demographic: Seems to be lots of guys there to ogle the hot bartenders (I've never seen a homely or male server) in their too tight shirts at any time. The weekend crowd (it gets Packed) is typicaly VERY heavy on Wayzata/Plymouth 20-something snotty/pushy jocks & D-bags, mixed with a healthy dose of mid-lifers, and the occassional tough guy or small group of homeboys (Plymouth version) that starts a fight or causes a scene. Service is mixed. I've had really good (at the bar), and I've had really bad (in the restaurant). Overall, it's average, and I would compliment certain bartenders for actually remembering my name and drink after months between visits.....if I remembered THEIR names. : P It's not a bad place, I just don't like a lot of the grub and the scene there on the weekends, mostly. First time I went I ordered chicken wings and a beer. Waitress forgot about my beer. Only reason I got it eventually is because I asked another waitress for the beer. I ended up finally getting it when my food came. Second time I went there It was seat yourself seating. I sat myself and was ignored for 15 minutes so I walked over to the bar and got service right away. There won't be a third time. It was steady and there was plenty of staff on the floor but our server was sooooo inattentive. The host even felt bad that we sat for so long and even offered to help. Knowing the host was willing to help, we went to her to pay our tab as our server never came back after we put our card out after a long wait. I would rather suggest going to the Cowboy Jack's in Bloomington. This place is no where near as good as the one there. The food was bad. (except the fries were fine) The burger tasted like you're biting into a wet towel. The music was cranked up to the point where your server can't even hear you, and you can't hear them. The main point of the place is most likely the bar, but still, they have bad food overall. I would much rather people go to the Bloomington location rather than this one. 3/10 read more

I went here on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. The patio was open as it was a nice summer day. The restaurant and patio were moderately crowded. I will say this place attracts an eclectic group of people. There's everyone from business people to bikers and everyone in between. A very interesting crowd. If you are on the patio and don't like smoking, beware, they do allow smoking. There is a lot of smoke and and smoking on the patio. Overall this was an OK place, however the service was extremely slow. We would wait 20 to 30 minutes to see our waitress, and after ordering drinks, it would take 10 to 15 minutes to get the drinks. The food was OK, it was chicken fingers and jalapeño poppers, normal American bar fare. I have to open this review with the fact that I am a regular at this location. And yes, I have been known to wear a cowboy hat. With that said this is a Bar! This is not somewhere you bring your children, or meet for Sunday brunch after church. This is a bar. Once you learn the ropes of the place it is a blast. Sure the waitresses can be tricky to catch and sometimes you have to wait a while for a bartender but the positives far out way the negatives. First they have the best deal on a hamburger in town. Every Wednesday is $2 for a burger, with .50 for each additional topping. Where else can you get a 1/3 lb bacon cheese burger for $3? And the burgers are awesome. Now to go with those burgers they have tots, and let me tell you I am hard pressed to find any tots in town that rival them, their salty spicy goodness dancing on your tongue, not to mention they are on special everyday for happy hour. Speaking of which, this bar has thee single best happy hour in town! I do not know of another place that will serve you a Jack Coke, Heineken, Morgan Coke, or really any other reasonable mid shelf liquor or domestic and most import beers for $2 a piece. $2 a Piece! Most bars will offer you a couple of tap beers and rail booze for .50 off........ Now if your hungry they have multiple menu items to choose from: Calamari to Potato Skins, a Big pile of Wings(at least 5 diff types) to yes Tots, and more, all for half price @ $4.50. Again, a big bang for your buck. Not to mention a huge patio and great people watching.
