Came to Cowboy Jacks in Bloomington MN, and Secia was our Waitress. She did an amazing job, our good and drinks came quick, she remembered everyone's order, was super Polite, with a big smile on her face. This customer service is great, I will be coming here more often. read more

I was in with some coworkers on a busy Friday happy hour and our server, Josh, was great! As soon as a new person arrived at our table, he was right there to take a drink order. Nice patio, too. Thanks, Josh! read more

Was at Cowboys Bloomington & lost my phone. Looked all over & could not find. Got home & called. MISHA looked through the trash & found the phone & called us back. Way,WAY beyond. The Greatest customer service. Want everyone to know how special the staff is & want MISHA to get a raise. read more

Convenient location next to our hotel. Great happy hour drinks and good appetizers. I played it safe and ordered a burger and fries with a salad and is wasn't anything great. I really wanted a NY or filet, but not on the menu. Decent service but not great. read more

Just didn't have a great time here with my friends. No peanuts on the patio, and the waitress was snappy because she thought she already told me that (not correct). The only good thing about the bingo they have is that you win money, other than it's so boring they would have to pay me to play it. The staff was ok, but just the whole night was off. I wouldn't stay away, but rather than go here I'd go downtown Minneapolis somewhere or uptown or some place else. read more

Nice atmosphere. High prices for such small mixed drinks, although the happy hour specials for tap beer are solid.

Nice place to hangout.. Food is OK.. Service is good.. The atmosphere is buzzin al the time.. Go for the outdoor tables.. And will have ur eyes open all the time.. Visit the place and u will know what i mean... read more

Went on a monday night around 830. Waitress took our drink order an it took about 10 min to get 2 drinks. She didn't engage, offer a menu, or ask if we needed anything else. She messed up our friends drink order also. Waitress came by our table at best every 25 30 min. Not impressed. Have been to different location of cowboy jacks an have had better service. read more

I was there for the first time last night and was very impressed overall. We had the $5 bucket of wings and there 19 wings in the bucket, and they were decent size. I was expecting maybe 5 wings in the bucket. I had the honey garlic and they were delicious. Our waitress was awesome too. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I been to this place before Covid. Now I remember why I don't go back. We winner there tonight with a party of three. Walking into the restaurant I used the restroom. It was trashed garbage everywhere. I told the host stand that the restrooms needed attention. He said no way I just cleaned them 15 minutes ago. I went to my table. Sever was pleasant beat part of the night. I then ordered the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Wife had a Blue Burger and friend had a Ruben. My Brisket came out Shredded and VERY dry on a cold bun. Who shreds a Beautiful piece of meat like a brisket and does not show the slow cook to slice it. I had to have two beers just to choke it down. Wife's burger was so well done we thought it was a hockey puck. Friends Ruben. Ok. But ice cold. Food was horrible. I thought about saying something but did not. I got home I have tried to call 6 times and no answer. I hope this was just us and they will do better next time. They have lost a great Bloomington neighbor. The Dog S--- in my back yard is better. Don't waste your $$$$$. Go somewhere else. read more

Bingo Night , Microbrews, and peanuts at the door.. cant go wrong here. The food was just okay but the waffle fries with the house sour cream are very good! Also I would suggest going for happy hour -- paid around 6 bucks for a beer that would have been 1/2 that if we had waited 30 minutes. They have great specials each night of the week ( ex $2 Burger Wed) so be on the lookout so you dont pay more than you have to read more

Very big place but parking is hard. Peanut bar with good live music on the weekends. Prices are good and the food is decent. Darts, pool and a mechanical bull. When it's summer the patio is a must. read more

Had the pot pie. Comes in a cast iron skillet -- cool presentation and good filling but the crust was not great. Fun atmosphere for kickin' back with a beer and eating peanuts. read more

This place sucks as a cowboy bar. No country dancing at all. Rap music only and club music. If rather drive to Omaha to their country bars. It was the night before Kenny Chesney and the mc only played 2 songs. None of the songs were even Kenny's. Never again. Don't go here for dancing read more

Started as a great night. Ended the night disputing an open tab. I was willing to pay a large majority of the tab, however refused to order drinks that I did not order. Upon saying we disputed the tab, the Bar staff attempted to strong arm our group into paying by refusing us entry into cowboy jacks in the future. They then resorted to threatening to write us a citation for not paying our full bill, which would have been preferable at this point. The local cop refused to write a citation and stated he did not want to get involved. They then ran a handful of cards multiple times, explained that they were all declined - when in fact they were reimbursing them self's the amount the ran it (see photo below of one of my baking statement). They then demanded i take cash out to pay. As I had been told out cards were declined, I humored them by showing it wouldn't work. When cash was dispensed, I pulled up my online banking to find that they had run each card and reimbursed each one multiple times for different amounts. As the total bill was $180, there were over a dozen charges for different amounts. Again, I offered to pay for the drinks we had actually ordered. The management staff then refused to let us leave and would not accept card payment. Wellsfargo called in the middle of this dispute to let me know that someone had run my card to the tune of $850 - I explained what was going on and Wells Fargo unfroze my card, in their words " for my safety" and called back roughly ten minutes later to allow me to dispute the charges which the cowboys staff ran after 45 minutes of our group disputing the issue. I understand that tabs get taken advantage of, the group I was with was as calm as we could be after being not allowed to leave for close to an hour. The overall handling and attempted strong arming of the situation was outrageous. Needless to say I won't be stepping back into this location again. read more

Cowboy Jack's - Ran credit cards multiple times and reimbursed - Bars Near Me - Bloomington, Minnesota

My family and I went to Cowboy Jack's in Bloomington, MN on Tuesday December 20th for dinner and drinks. Three out of four family members received food poisoning. The next day we talked to the manager on duty and they said they would call us back. Ten days later still no phone call. On December 30 I called again and the manager wanted to check into it. The manager called me back 3 hour later and said that there was no other complaints from that day. The manager said that we must have been getting sick and it had nothing to due with food poisoning. Hmm it's funny that the manager stated that the food inspector was there that same day. My advice is to go there for drinks and bingo only. I will never eat at this restaurant again. read more

Visited for the first time yesterday around 4pm. The place was pretty busy. Waitress was very unknowledgeable about the menu; I ordered the tater tot hotdish (fortunately, the small one) and it was chock full of an ingredient I loath (frozen mixed vegetables), after she assured me there was none. Drinks watery, but some of the menu sounds fun. My husband had the rib eye and said it was fine. Waitress very inattentive and robotic; didn't feel much at home. I may try again, if I'm in the neighborhood and have to choose a boring chain restaurant on the 494 strip. read more

This bar is really fun but for some reason they started playing the worst music I've ever heard. It's some terrible country/rap. I don't even know what to call it it's so bad. It's embarrassing that they even play that crap. I will seriously consider never going here again if they keep playing it. Those so called rappers are embarrassing for white people. It's rare to find a good white rapper and now these idiots come in here and make it worse. Thanks Cowboy Jacks. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. 1 is generous. Jon Taffer couldn't save this dreadful place. Its a country bar, and there is hardly a dancefloor. I dont think id even consider it one. The only thing it has going for it is the cheap drinks. While they are cheap, it attracts a lot of sketchy people, which leads to over consumption and a lot of unnecessary situations (likes to fight guy). The bartenders and servers were all bi***y and rude, which definitely is not something a good bar is known for. Not even sure I could be paid to go back to this disgusting place read more

Had a nice salad and the garbage pizza was good. (we recommend they take it easier on the garlic cloves). Not a good atmosphere for a dinner date as it was bingo night, but the folks here for the bingo were having fun. Our waitress Olivia was professional, attentive and pleasant. She did a great job. Thanks read more

Everything was great! Except the tater tot hot dish. Tastes like tater tots on top of chef boyardee spaghettiOs.

Great local place to grab dinner! The cornbread & bone in ribeye is a must! The staff is super friendly!

Awesome venue but music choose was terrible. 90's top 20 in a country bar? When asking "Richie" the manager he said he would see what he could do and showed no interest to a customer. Several patrons around me complained as well. Wilson Phillips and Micheal Bolton playlist! Needs new management obviously read more

Been here 4 times over the last 3 weeks, since they opened. My impressions: The hit a grand slam with the interior design. They really did an impressive job on the interior of the space, and the patio (not yet open due to weather) will be huge in the summer. I think it's the best restaurant/bar space in the cities. Lots of gables, lights, etc. Very open and airy. You don't feel cramped at all. The service has been so-so. However, the service has improved over the last weeks, and should be up to snuff in the next month or so. I'd give them a break on this issue, as the space is huge, the staff is new, and they've only been open a few weeks. They'll work out the logistics soon. The bar scene is packed and very lively, a refreshing change for Bloomington. Get there early for parking! (Hint - You can park on the road between Slumberland and Jack's, as it's technically a private driveway.) Or park at the office building to the east and hoof it on over. I wish the beer list was longer, and they need more servers when it's busy. The food is fair to good, but basic bar food. The stew, ribs, steak and burgers were all tasty, the meatloaf sliders very good. However, there menu needs to be expanded, especially at lunch, as the selections are limited. Needs more sandwiches at lunch and, hey, the lunch special with only the daily sandwich as a choice? Work on that one, we don't all like meat for lunch. Pet Peeves - A chopped salad should have all the ingredients chopped, including the lettuce - The live music at night is nice, but where's the dance floor? - Service gets a C, but am willing to give them a chance to grow into the space. -Mix up the music...Western, country, and maybe a little Rock and Roll? read more

It's a very cowboyish type restaurant. The decor inside is very western, very neat! The service was great, food was good and reasonably priced as well. I was there on a Monday night, around 7:30, and there was a poker game going on. Good place to eat, lots of space between the tables, so you don't feel like you're bumping into people. read more

Had the fish fry special. Presentation good, service good. Fish was very fishy tasting, I was told it is cod, all of mine & my girlfriends, very fishy tasting. Have never had fishy cod. Fresh fish is not fishy. Have smaller scoop of slaw, but spend the savings on fresher fish, then I'll be back. I don't usually use it but I learned, lots of tartar sauce can hide some fishy taste. read more

Love this Place!!! :) So many fun, energetic people here it was a great experience and I will be back! One thing that I do have to say is that the bartender should make the drinks a wee-bit stronger as my vodka-cran was pretty week. read more

Amanda is the worst server I have ever had. I have never had a worse experience in my life. Extremely rude! Do not come here!

Stopped in for apps and brew. The place was really busy which was nice for atmosphere. Very limited beer menu. I had the walleye fingers with onion straws. Come on! Onion straws are cheap so pile them up. You should also get more than 4 small walleye fingers. The chipotle sauce was good. I'd try another place before going back. read more

We waited for 30 minuets with no menus, waitress never asked if we wanted them. Waitress (Samantha K) was rude and inattentive, we left after one drink. The table next to us got their menus within minutes even though they arrived 15 minuets after us. Waitress seemed to have a problem with us in particular as she was interacting politely with other tables in our area. Would not recommend, if I could give them zero stars, I would. We left to go to Willy McCoys. read more

This place is HUGE and ALWAYS BUSY! They have amazing happy hour deals on drinks and apps, which is what I'd recommend coming for. The patio is cool and fun for the nice months, but the inside is just as fun for the winter months. Everything is done efficiently and with friendly service too. read more

Bartender forced my gf into a cab without letting her call me(I was in the bar) to let me know they were making her leave. Sorry to say the food was less than desirable. Philly Steak sandwich was ok, but better with their Special Ketchup. The onion strings tasted like FISH. The place had a nice atmosphere but the food had a 1 star rating read more

I went to socialize with friends on a Saturday night, arrived around 10:30pm. I have been here before and most times the service is ok (not great, but it is usually a crowed bar scene when I'm there. As I was standing at the bar people watching waiting for my friend to return from the bathroom a clearly intoxicated woman sitting at the table in front of me decided I was looking at her because she started waving her hand to get my attention. It took a while because I wasn't looking at her. When she did I walked over to see what she wanted and she asked if she could help me. I told her I don't think so and walked away to join my friend who had come back from the bathroom. My back was to her at this point and she got up out of her seat to pick a fight. When I told her please go away. she started calling my friend a whole host of nasty things and I said, "I think you need to get cut off." She (apparently very offended) said say that again M***** F*****." at which point I politely said it again. She started swearing about kicking us out and that she works there and was just very rude. Now to say that this establishment lets their employees get so drunk they can pick a fight when they aren't working is one thing, however after this we were asked to step away so they could figure out what was going on. I don't feel that any employee working or not should be allowed to do this to customers. Not only were we asked to leave the area, but they did nothing to cut her off, or ask her to leave. Other than ordering a tonic, I had not been drinking at all at this point and my friend had had very little. Neither of us instigated this altercation, however all of the bouncers eagerly protected their employee (who should have been removed, or at least stopped being served) and wanted us to vacate. Needless to say I do not recommend going here, nor will I patronize this place again. read more

I had the best bowl of Potato Soup I've ever eaten at this restaurant. I'm worried it was laced with something because I can't stop thinking about it. The food was just okay. The service was extremely slow, so slow that we had to track down our server for the check. We won't be back!
