Cowboy Curry, one of the pieces of the prestigious Uni empire that's slowly spreading throughout Orlando, is one of the amazing offerings at the Mills Market. This place sells one thing and one thing only, Premium Beef Curry (Japanese rice and curry with beef, potatoes, carrots, and rakkyo pickles). I showed up and we ordered two of these things. The true customizability comes from the add-ons. This time, I decided to add on the Chicken Katsu and the Ebi Fry (Shrimp). First of all, the curry is delicious. If you go to a place where Japanese curry is one of the 40 things they have on the menu, it's gonna be good, maybe, but I promise you, it's not gonna be as good as a place where Japanese curry is the only thing on the menu, the only thing they have to concentrate on. The beef is nice and tender, the veggies are thoroughly cooked, and the curry itself is deep and viscous enough to coat the rice well and feel so unctuous. It's so good. My add-ons were not needed, but they surely did enhance. Thin, crispy chicken, fried to perfection. Golden sticks of shrimp that crunched like glass. These were tempuraed so well, you could even eat the tales. I also got to try the Cowboy Menchikatsu add-on, which was like a Salesbury steak katsu. Very good. It's all just so good. Ever since this place was added to mills market we have been wanting to check it out. It was amazing! Nozzled in on the side of mills market you can smell the distinct scent of Japanese style curry. They serve a hearty portion of beef curry and sticky wite rice The curry has potatoes, carrots and very tender beef in. They have some options to add as toppings. When I ordered the chicken karaage topping I thought it was a bit overpriced, but it was perfectly made (still a bit more Chicken would have been nice). They serve traditional Japanese beef curry with rice. The staff were really nice and explained the different topping options. I decided to add the crispy chicken katsu to mine. It was amazing and just what we wanted! They simmer the sauce for 40 hours, and it had excellent flavor containing vegetables and tender chunks of beef. It was also a very generous portion (good for 2 meals for me). Mills Market itself has made some great improvements and additions to the space. Premium Beef Curry (a/k/a spicy Beef Stew) was 10/10 - I'm coming back when the temps drop so I can warm up with that nice bowl of tasty. Next time, though, I'll try the Ebi Fry as an add-on instead of the Chicken Katsu. The chicken wasn't bad and they give you enough - I just don't think it added anything in terms of flavor. The beef, gravy, rice, carrots - absolutely delicious and gives you that tingle we girls get when we use a strong lip plumper (lol). My one regret? The Yuzu Mango tea I ordered - $6 worth of a small cup of mostly ice. The drink was really good, just too pricey for what you actually get. The Cowboy Curry itself is about $15 and the portion size was good for what you pay and the quality of the ingredients. They open at noon and there were a few of us lined up to order beforehand. Finally gave them a try! They specialize in Japanese style Curry. They're have one curry that has a tiny bit of a kick. It's not spicy! Just enough to know it's there! The customization comes from the toppings you can get. I went with the basic, no add ons (most of the add ons are fried, and I didn't want the carbs). The lady running the counter was very sweet and explained everything about the curry, the spice level and how to customize. The BEST Japanese curry in town, without a doubt. This is their first pop-up and first service. The stand is permanent at Mills Market but only open via pop-up, so follow their Instagram @cowboycurryfl for their schedule. According to the team, the curry took 4 days to make using all fresh ingredients, lots of vegetables, and no added thickeners. The thickness of the curry comes solely from simmering everything for 4 days, and it tasted divine! There's one base curry with beef, and you can choose add-ons and side dishes (see the menu in the picture). I chose to add menchikatsu, Wagyu katsu, ebi fry, potato egg salad, and their mango mocktail drink. Everything was fantastic and well worth the wait. There was no set price at the first service; they asked customers to pay what they thought the food was worth, based solely on an honor system, which was a surprise. Ok so I ordered uber delivery from this place 5-6 times. All the previous times were all good . Good portion good meat to veggies ratio . Everything was warm and tasty. Average 6-7 cubes of beef to 6-7 cubes of potatoes/carrot ratio. I just ordered another beef curry today . I was so disappointed and devastated. After digging in with my chopsticks and fished around, I was surprised and incredulous that there was only 3 beef cubes to 7-8 potatoes:carrot cubes . I was so sad and disappointed. Parking is somewhat crowded but if you wait a bit you'll find a spot. When I got there for dinner service they were out of curry! This was wild since it's literally dinner hours around 5:30pm. I went to another eatery and got some dinner but decided to check and see if they reopened. They had some curry delivered so I thought why not. The katsu is flavorful and not overly fried. But the curry sauce was so so salty that I couldn't eat more than two bites. My tongue started to tingle which tells me there's MSG or extra sodium in that curry.
