Terribly rude receptionist. Called for information and she just wasn't pleasant at all. She told me there were times and dates available then I had to ask her what times and days as she didn't offer anything. When I said that day wouldn't work she said, "We have days the second week of January" I said okay. *silence on the other end. I had to ask again, okay what are the days and times. I visited in June, and got new prescription & glasses. I went back because I still didn't have clear vision, and was told they just were not adjusted correctly. I finally went to another doctor and I have cataracts in both eyes, that's why I'm having difficulty seeing. it's only been 6 months, I didn't grow large cataracts in that amount of time. the cove doctor said I had the beginnings of cataracts. I wouldn't recommend this doctor, plus the cost for inaccurate diagnosis. read more

My insurance pays for a free eye exam. I made an appointment for that purpose. When I checked in I was told that there might be a $40 co-pay if the doctor finds any medical issues with my eyes. I explained that I only wanted the eye vision exam. The receptionist repeated that the statement that there could be a copay. I left the office and called my insurance company to validate that information. I was told that it was not correct. There is no copay for a simple eye test. While I was on hold, the insurance representative called to verify my complaint about a copay. She came back online and told me that the representative at Cove Vision tried to justify and defend, wrongly, the $40 copay issue. The result of all of this is that I feel that Cove Vision was trying to charge fees that were not legitimate. I feel justified in saying that because if they won't listen to my insurance company then they might just be trying to take advantage of uneducated consumrs. I would suggest that anyone considering the use of this facility might wish to check the one and two ratings reviews found here. Or you can just look at the 2.5 overall review of this company. The staff and the doctor were great, on the other hand the prices of the prescription lenses are a rip off, they wanted over $400.00 for a pair of regular reading and driving lenses w/o frame, as I was using my own. I went to a different place and got the lenses for #195.00. When you are on social security there is no way you can afford this. Just asking myself why such a price difference. read more

The person that did the precursor exam before the doctor decided it would be Appropriate to put her hand on the back of my daughter's head And physically push her forward onto the machine that takes pictures of your eyes. This was after asking if we could do the exam for my child and myself separately. The doctors himself was rude and unprofessional. From the moment we stepped in to the exam room. He was complaining about the way the person had set up the machine and was very Aggressively using his computer to enter Information. He was not a good listener and was very condescending. He seemed to take it personal and at one point almost accused us of not being truthful when we said we could not see or if Did not pick one of the options presented to us during the exam. I just felt that he was rather rude and unprofessional. All the way around for my self and my daughter's exam. I do not one hundred percent trust his opinion. I am considering paying out of pocket to get another exam done. This clinic, this Doctor is an absolute last resort. If you have nowhere else to go and must get an eye exam. That said DO NOT Go in here as a female alone or as a mom with a small child That cannot help advocate for themselves, Or more than one child so that you can focus on that child and really hear what he is saying and doing. read more

Very nice people and nice place. I wanted to give a review just based on the kindness, but for one, they're not on the same page about how long an eye exam is good for. An eye exam should be good for a year and you should not have to pay for it again before then, no matter what. Some people who worked there said it was good for 30 days and some said 60 days. That's it! After you go through getting it done and paying the money for it, it lasts a month or two?? No. Luckily, I was in for a contact fitting before the 60 days was up, but I still almost had to pay for a whole new eye exam. Luckily, I didn't have to. I highly recommend getting your contact fitting at the same time if you know you'll want contacts. On the other hand, I bought glasses from here ($$$) and then I bought a back up pair for WAY cheaper from GlassesUSA and my online cheaper pair of glasses are actually better. Please never buy glasses or contacts that are as expensive as they sell you at an actual eye doctors when buying online is such a money saver and it's still great quality! I feel like I wasted money I could've spent or saved for my children. Still, nice people. Thank you. read more

I'm on insurance disability for seizures they treated me like I was cheap piece of trash they took out the poor glasses in the cabinet from the back did not give me much time to choose my glasses before they swiped me to the side and let the person that had $400 glasses sitting and waiting for them I had some Oakley sunglasses that I need a new lens they're trying to charge me $250 for just the frames ridiculous do not recommend if you want to be taken care of go to somewhere else for better customer care I'll never go back there again if you feel good customer service not recommended this place is trash never go there again they take care of the privilege people with money and a high-class kind of people that have money to spend they don't take care of the blue collar or they're working people only the privilege people with money snooty Rude and disappointed optometrist worst mistake in my life going to Cove vision if you want to get good eyeglasses go somewhere else I would not go there even if my eyes were worse never again not recommended if you want to see your face in the mirror read more

So I've had contacts since I was 14 and never had issues. Came in a few weeks ago to update my yearly check up and to get fitted into contacts. Remind you I could see just fine prior to the visit. Long story short they screwed up my vision not once, not twice, not even 3 times but by the fourth trip the Main Doc referred me to a Neurologist because he couldn't get it right lol. But I could see fine before stepping into this office, and it was bit fishy that he had a business card for the neurologist he wanted me to go see. So I went to another business today and paid out of pocket for a eye exam and was correctly placed into contacts without any issues!!! Stay away from this nightmare! read more

Receptionists are rude, filed insurance for services not used. Not to mention they don't know what insurance they can use even after showing them the insurance company site showing they participate and still refuse. 3 stars for now. went here as an out of towner for insurance purposes. got me in within a couple days of me making a first time appointment. once i was there i had minimal paperwork to fill out and didnt wait too long once i got called back. the dr was nice, she was telling me about things to do in texas ( nothing around killeen and copperas cove) but ill update my review when i go back wednesday for my follow up for my contacts and see how the prices and what not are update: i have yet to run into a rude receptionist like everyone on here is saying. they even let me in the door before it opened and got me started on my follow up. prices are reasonable. the dr is real hyper but does her job and gets it done fast. all the staff seemed real friendly and were small talking with me and stuff. final review to come after i go to pick up my contacts! read more

Went to pick up my glasses when asked if I could read the pamphlet handed to me, could not see a thing. Then was told wear them and give them time to adjust....I could not see far away or close with these NEW prescriptive glasses. Then was told I would have to make an appointment with the optometrist before they would correct them , even though they have the correct vision prescription. The girl helping me was rude and curt....I have been going here for greater than 40 years and it was so much better when it was TSO....I would not recommend this place now.... read more

This is my second visit to this Location was a year ago. I was very pleased . I did see same optometrist and was pleased . When it came Time to choose frames within my insurance I had zero help. I asked a few times to help . As last year I was helped to what I can afford within my insurance . I felt lost and a burden . Finally I picked up one and tried them on. I still stood at a loss to what I can get within my insurance. Finally I she said your insurance won't cover this and that and that brand . So as I can't read the small tags with no eye glasses I said what about the one pair I picked up . She said yes . So I had no choice but that pair . I will take my time and insurance someplace else next year . I have never felt like a bother . And was only person being helped . It took a lot for me to go in to have exam with the trying times we are in . read more

I called to get scheduled in for my appointment and they were able to schedule me in the same week. I also like the text message reminder about my appt. The office staff was very nice and helpful. Dr. Meany was very nice and had such a great sense of humor. They have a very good selection of frames (Rayban, D&G, Calvin Klein, Cover Girls, Lone star) I am only leaving a 4 because I have not picked up my frames yet. However, I did call today to schedule an appt for my husband and they were able to get him in next day! read more

This is the optometrist that I used when I lived in Texas. My family has had some bad experiences with wrong prescriptions here, but all in all I don't think it's the optometrists fault. I think that the worker-bees don't always know how to read the prescriptions. They have a really great selection of glasses to choose from. Some that I even wear years later and still get compliments on to this day! read more

Extremely disappointed...at least with the call backs for finished glasses. My appt was 2/28/16 and I had to call them myself 2day 3/18/16 to ask where my daughter and I's glasses where. They told me that they called on March 2 or 3 and left a msg saying they were ready. Nope, I didn't not receive one and I even checked my deleted msg'd and recent call list. Nothing but my PCM office and the TX appt reminder from Darnell. I let them know that I didn't receive a call and that I checked my phone thoroughly. The lady was nice about it, but still I would've called once wk at least. Appt went well, but the optometrist was a bit of a fast talker and seemed in a hurry to get to get to the nxt appt. I suggest a bit more practice with kids that have short attention spans and focus issues. Just my opinion. I might go to Walmart next time. read more

After being new here we weren't sure where to go but this place ended up being great. Ladies were super funny and nice. Doctor was nice and funny. Nice selection of glasses and you can take your time. They were great with the insurance. I would definitely go back. After reading the other reviews I felt I had to add that when I went I had my 3 kids with me and my husband at other times. They were very nice to them and they played in the sitting area. We went multiple times and had order changes and insurance changes and they handled everything just fine. These ladies do know what they're doing and are not rude. Bring your insurance cards and ID and you should be fine. That's standard practice anywhere. I know one of the times I didn't have my ID but they knew me by then and it wasn't a problem. I should have know when I made the appointment how the staff was, but thought maybe it was just a bad day. Had an appointment for first thing in the morning, went inside and to the desk, there were two people behind the desk and neither acknowledged us, it was a lady who takes people to the back who finally did. Having the first appointment, you would think you would get in and out, but they didn't see us for just about 45 minutes. The staff whole sells the frames were not very friendly either, until it was time to purchase frames. We felt as if we were a big inconvenience to their work day. I will not go back there, ever. I have to agree with Jenee. The staff is rude and not patient. The clinic is NOT kid friendly whatsoever, yet they assure you that they are when you're on the phone scheduling the appointment. The doctor speaks so fast, it was hard for me to understand her, let alone my children. She was short with my children if they didn't reply in "her" timely manner. We felt rushed through like cattle at auction. If this clinic wasn't the only one in Cove that accepts our eye insurance, then there is NO WAY I would ever return and I definitely don't recommend this clinic for children's eye exams. read more

I went here to get my son glasses. The optometrist yelled at me in front of my child because my son had memorized the eye chart to cover for a vision issue. Then they charged me almost 700 for his glasses. The frames broke 4 times in a year, flimsy quality at a high price and they offer no insurance. The customer service is HORRID and they refused to even give us my son's records to take to another vision center. We switched to Walmart Vision center and got better frames, better glasses and better customer service for 50.00. Even without insurance they said it would have cost 200.00 not 700. I would NEVER have ANYONE I know visit this place. Rude, over priced, poor quality of care! No concern for a 9 year old child's best interests at ALL. read more
