Amy and Bishlam have created such a lovely space... they're both so friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. Bishlam carefully took his time to look at my hair and to get a sense of what I wanted/didn't want and he even talked through some techniques for styling and explained what kind of products would work best for my texture. I went (excitedly so) to my first ever pointe fitting at another store in San Francisco (won't drop any names). I got home and thought...you know...not once in my whole appointment did I ever get over the box. I get that I'm new to pointe but...is that normal? I also was given toe pads, a big toe cap, and toe spacers. And told because my feet are 2 slightly different sizes I'd probably need to buy 2 pairs of shoes (I did not). All this to say I tried on my shoes at home, filmed myself...and cried. THE FIT WAS AWFUL. I called Bourree and explained the entire scenario - asking if I could come in and show the shoe I'd been sold elsewhere. If they agreed with the shoe - great! I'd pay a fitting fee. If we could find something better - even better! I get new shoes. Staff spent over an hour with me going shoe by shoe. It was amazingly thorough, and SO personal. They really made me feel like a valid dancer with valid concerns and a future on pointe - rather than adult student. I probably tried 10+ shoes and NONE were a similar shape...or size...to what I'd been sold elsewhere. We also reduced my padding ...and I somehow felt MORE comfortable! I started with Nikolay nova flex in size 5 XXXX. I walked out of Bourree with Bloch Euro Stretch size 6.5 X. Talk about a difference. I immediately got over the box. No sickling, no wobbly ankles, just confidence and reassurance that IM not the problem - a "bad" fitting was. Pointe is expensive but I do appreciate the loyalty program the store has! The vibrant spring colors at Bella drew me in. It was almost closing time, but the lovely sales associates let me browse and try on a few items. The store is beautifully arranged with contemporary women's clothing, bags, jewelry, and accessories, as well as some home/gift items like pillows, candles, and more. The clothes are grouped in color families, which really makes for such a pleasant shopping experience. I tried on a handful of items and found a summer sweater to take home. I'll definitely stop in again when next in the area. And, they have locations in San Anselmo, Greenbrae, and Mill Valley.

Recently I went to the store to buy a belt. The salesperson directed me to the cubbies around the store but wouldn't answer questions about available sizes. All she told me was the brand. Again, I went online to buy the belt at a lower price than I would have paid at the store. I will return to the store to browse for brands but will buy elsewhere until the customer service is comparable to the quality of the merchandise.

She can tell you her name 20 times and you still will not remember her name. Family owned and multitude of different varieties of items. education and what's going on with the items that are for sale and vendors can come in as well to do consignments so there's a large vast amount of a lot of different items. Lady N does restringing for jewelry bracelets necklaces as well tennis racket restringing. I got a couple of necklaces done that I haven't been able to where cuz they were broken. We came in to this shop some months ago looking for a very specific incense, which is difficult (if not impossible) to find here in the US. The shop owner said she would be travelling to Nepal in a few months and would look for this particular incense at the grand market (she indicated that every kind of incense could be found there). I left my phone number with her and, quite frankly, did not expect to hear back. I WAS SO WRONG! She called me back exactly as she had promised upon returning to the US to let me know that she found the incense and had 10 boxes set aside for me. I was so blown away that she remembered and thought to call me. Of course, I bought all her stock in this incense because who knows when we would ever find it again! In case you're wondering, the incense is called Aparajita. It is the scent that the Beatles burned during their recording sessions beginning with the Revolver album. And, no, I don't believe they have any left, because we cleaned them out. :) LOL Also, I learned that in some cases the FDA won't sign off on some imports due to ingredients that have not been approved. I can only speculate why this incense is so hard to find here, but I do wonder if it has something to do with that. Regardless, as Beatles fans and as we carefully attempt to recreate "the vibe" of that recording sesh, we are eternally grateful that this shop assisted us with this search. A million thank yous!!!
