    Warmest room would get
    Tim T.

Wife and I we taking my mom on a getaway my dad had just passed and we wanted to take her to FL to get away from all the stress and anxiety and rest. Our first stop was 2 nights here in Charleston wife and I had stayed before and it was nice, I made a reservation for 2 nights. We checked in around 1630 went to our room and it was cold 67 so I turned the heat up 72. We went to dinner and came back and the room was still cold, I called down to the desk told them what was wrong. They sent the engineer up he tells me oh you have to shut the bathroom doors it's sucking the heat out. Really, where'd they get this guy from? I don't think that's the issue there was no heat coming out of the vents. He turns the heat to as high as it could go says all the heat is staying in the ceiling and sucked out through the bathroom. He says I'll have to look at the unit once you're gone. That it will warm up, the next morning the room was at 69!...we went out for the day came back it was 67 I figured the censoring the room didn't register movement so the heat didn't come on. So I tried turning it back up it was as high as it would go already. So I went to go take a shower opened the curtain and the plastic panel on the wall was just hanging on by the silicone at the top edge I pushed on the wall and it moved in and out. I have a video I'll post then in the bottom left there was a crack piece out of the corner that was siliconed together. What kind of engineer would think this is ok for a repair? That room should have been shut down and repaired. When I checked out I told the lady that everything was terrible she said well I'll give you some points. Having No heat should be more than some points?

Provided a very pleasant one-night stay. Loved our room's high ceiling and muted, classy decor. Attractive lobby with a Starbucks -by-day-bar-by-night. Outdoors has pool, hot tub and fire pit areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Has airport style luggage trolleys vs the traditional bellman cart - found these much easier to maneuver. Bonus - 39 degrees North Eucalyptus & Lavender personal care products, my personal favorite, in the shower.

    Huge divots in the mattress!

Even though this hotel is convenient and off the interstate, I would never recommend it. Especially room 305, when I pulled back the duvet, the sheets look like they've never been changed and in both mattresses you can see a huge divots in them (?!) anyone can clearly see the difference in the mattress so why would you subject your guests to bed mattresses that have been passed the point of worn down. At minimum flip the mattresses (smh) Use extreme caution with staying at hotels directly off the interstate!

Disregard my mess. I got very comfortable!!

Lots to say about this gem! I was nervous with the location being off the highway, but boy was I surprised! This location was perfect- everything was close by especially the beach and downtown. We didn't spend more than 15 minutes in the car. The hotel is very nice and clean. Our room was king size with a balcony- bed and pillows were very comfortable. Covid guidelines are followed.

The amazing bistro and seating area. This is where it all begins! 5 Stars.

I miss this place and I just left Florida this morning... I'm already looking forward to returning. Florida is amazing in itself, and then you put a great hotel like this in the mix and wham bam!! The location is perfect -only about 10 minutes from the downtown, marinas, historic sites, restaurants, etc. It's nice because you can sleep in a nice quiet hotel while enjoying a bit of luxury. From the time you enter the doors until the time you leave, you are treated like royalty. The staff do an amazing job of taking care of each and every need. They go out of their way to make you feel special. I also loved the hot tub, pool, and fitness room as well. My favorite thing about this place (I won't lie)... is the Bistro.... The food and beverage options are fantastic! And lucky for us, a gentleman named Jerry was working the nights we came down to relax at the Bistro. He is amazing. I wish I knew this guy's last name so we could send a thank you to the hotel and mention what a difference he makes in the ambiance of this hotel. It's rare to find such good staff who can make guests feel so comfortable. This guy works his buns off and yet takes the time to make meaningful conversation with the guests. Not just friendly....Outstanding. And most importantly, a realization for all.... It definitely says something about a hotel when guests leave from a week long vacation, having participated in numerous activities, but what they keep contemplating on is their amazing hotel experience. Isn't this what it's all about .....making a personal and lasting impact? So, if you are looking for that, this Marriott is the place for you!

We found this Courtyard by Marriott on short notice after arriving at a filthy misrepresented vrbo, and because of this wonderful kind helpful staff and this IMMACULATE hotel, we will be loyal Marriott members for life. The GM Shannon and her staff went above and beyond the call of duty. (And in our four days here, we saw the kindness and high level of service by the entire staff was simply how they do business all the time.). They also have a lovely bistro with super comfortable furnishings, our food was gorgeous and fresh, a bar (yay), a great comfortable lounge area along with an immaculately clean pool and hot tub. A very special thanks to Shannon, Joep, Jennifer and Linda especially.

Nice hotel. I was in St. Augustine for a wedding and the hotel was great. I didn't stay long because it was a quick trip but it was nice and clean.

Although the hotel was about 20 minutes from downtown, the reasonable price during a busy holiday weekend made it a good choice. We checked in at 3:00 PM, but there was a slight delay, and we had to wait around 30 minutes to get the keys to our room. Our room had two double-sized king beds, which were comfortable and spacious enough for our family of three to share one bed easily. The only issue we faced during our stay was with the air conditioner. We set it to automatic, but it was either too cold or too warm, making it difficult to maintain a consistent temperature in the room. On the positive side, the breakfast provided by the hotel was included in our stay and was delicious. It was convenient to have a good breakfast without needing to spend extra money. Overall, our stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites was comfortable, and we didn't encounter any major problems.

We held our breath however, because our first room was 206 and they moved us to 306, so we wondered if we would have the same issue. The second room initially seemed fine, so we unpacked our things and went out to enjoy the "Nights of Lights." We also had stopped at a German bakery along the way and had $30 of pastries in a box that we placed on a high shelf, just in case. On returning to our room about 10:30pm, we noticed ants again, everywhere, on the bedside table, the bathroom sink, bathroom wall, and kitchenette counter. I went to the front desk again, but they informed us there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked for the night. We felt like we were stuck for the night, so went back to the room and sat down to eat a pastry only to discover the box was crawling with ants! We packed up our things and went back downstairs and informed the desk it was worse than we realized and we were leaving. Since we booked through a third party, they informed us we had to contact the third party to request a refund. We made the three hour drive home at midnight. The next morning we contacted the third party, who then reached out to the hotel directly to get approval for the refund. The agent came back and said the hotel was only willing to refund us for two nights, not three! I asked to escalate the issue with a supervisor and explained that we should not be charged for a room we did not spend the night in. She called the hotel again and said the hotel was firm about only refunding us for two nights. Thankfully the third party agreed to refund us the other night, which they certainly did not have to do. It appears this is an ongoing problem, because I have now seen another review with complaints of ants and the hotel being unwilling to refund them as well. So not only is there an ant infestation, but there is also a lack of basic customer service from management. DO NOT stay at this hotel ever!

The owner renovated the inside so that it's got modern amenities and sleeps six people comfortably. The first time we visited the place, it was like an awakening. It was the PERFECT place for my husband and I to get have our wedding. Of course, we had 85 guests, so the ceremony had to be elsewhere, but this was perfect for the reception. It was the perfect size for everyone to move around freely and still have a small dance floor. Also the price is crazy good. You will NOT find a more reasonable deal in town. Bring in your own vendors and you can create a fabulous wedding on a modest budget. I'm not just saying that because I am the proud bride. I'm saying it because it's a recession and fabulous doesn't normally come cheap. And I don't throw the word FABULOUS around breezily. I'm deadly serious. Anyway, you get the place in all it's charm for three days and two nights. Then you can rent it for an extra day for a good price. And really, you just have to get rid of your trash because they clean and do laundry for you. How is that not perfect? Go there because it made my very special day amazing.

When originally searching for a wedding venue we had a few must-haves, which included a location with historical character, in driving distance from Orlando, and located in a town where out-of-state visitors could enjoy exploring. And so we focused in on St. Augustine. I had a good gut instinct about the Sanchez House from the moment I discovered them online, and I must shamelessly admit that I stalked the websites of every couple who had their wedding at the Sanchez House. We quickly booked a visit to the Sanchez House, because they are only able to hold 12 weddings a year due to being zoned in a residential area. We met with the owner, Blake, who shared with us the history of the home, gave tips from other weddings held on the premise, and shared some of his favorite vendors. When we experienced the venue in person, we fell even more in love with the charm that was evident around every corner of the house! The SH offers a brick courtyard, artificial turf front lawn, large gathering room, dining room, kitchen, office, two bedrooms, small one-car garage, and an attic. Not only can you hold your wedding events at the house, but you are able to stay there, as well. This allowed us and our bridal party, 6 in total, to stay at the house. So convenient! After booking the Sanchez House, we decided to extend our celebration into an entire weekend. Our events spanned from 50 to 90 guests, and SH accommodates them comfortably. The house is in an excellent location by the bay and walking distance to historic St. George Street. At the SH, we were able to select our own vendors. We held our ceremony in the courtyard which transformed to the dance floor. The front lawn was donned with a heated tent and tables on the coldest Florida winter day. It even snowed lightly! Guests had the chance to mingle throughout the house in the dining room, gathering room, and balcony. I would note that the parking around the SH can be challenging, but we gave plenty of parking options for guests through our wedding website and social media, and suggested our guests to stay at one of the nearby hotels or bed & breakfasts. I highly recommend the Sanchez House for any couple looking for an intimate St. Augustine venue!
