Great location just off I-95 with no traffic noise! There are coffee shops and fast food restaurants nearby and historic downtown is only a 6 mile drive. We've stayed here a couple times and will very likely return. The staff is friendly and efficient. The hotel has been remodeled and is kept in good repair. This hotel provides easy access to the outlet malls, Starbucks (very important!) and the downtown area. We stayed 4 days here for a family weekend. At first we considered staying downtown but I am soooooo glad that we didn't because the parking and traffic congestion in the historic district and surrounding areas is ridiculous. The hotel is super clean and new looking. We had a king with a super comfy mattress and very fast free wifi. There is no breakfast included but you can get an overpriced bite to eat at the Starbucks cafe in the lobby. Cracker Barrel is an easy drive, too. Lastly, the staff was super friendly. The hotel sponsored this free craft night in the lobby. I thought we had to pay but the couple running it said the hotel paid for the price so we figured, "why not?" It was a great activity for kids and their middle-aged aunties! Lots and lots of parking. Free. Easy. read more

There were two deciding factors for choosing this hotel on our trip to Saint Augustine: 1. My husband had accumulated several free nights on his Marriott rewards. 2. This was the only Marriott hotel with rooms available over the new year holiday. What earned this hotel 5 stars was that they serve Starbucks coffee. And they are the only people serving Starbucks within a million miles of downtown Saint Augustine... or at least within like 40 miles. My GPS and Yelp search didn't find any other. I am proud to call myself a Marriott girl because I always seem to have good luck with them (NO! I don't own stock in Marriott - and I am quick to whine on the rare occasion I do get a bad one). This hotel is one of the reasons I stay loyal to Marriott. I usually stay a block down the street at the Fairfield Inn, but I got a better rate here (altho a tad high), so I gave it a try. I am glad I did. It's a pretty new hotel (3 years old) and very well kept. It's conveniently located right off the interstate, and about 5 or 6 miles into downtown St. Augustine. Plenty of free parking at the hotel. The room was very nice, bigger than older Courtyard I have stayed in. The bathroom was very nice with lots of towels, and the vanity was inside the bathroom. My room had a mini-frig, coffeepot, and microwave. The bed was firm and comfy with clean, fresh linens and lots of pillows. There's a workdesk and flat screen TV. There is free wi-fi throughout the hotel. The front desk staff was very nice both when I checked in and when I asked some questions. I have no complaints at all. There is a coin operated washer and dryer on the first floor. This hotel had something different. Rather than the usual Courtyard restaurant with the buffet, this one had a counter where you could order breakfast. It closed at 11 and reopened in the afternoon for sandwiches and such. It was nice, but the breakfast is not included in your rate unless your reservation says it is. I had the breakfast included, and it was made to order by a nice lady who ran the place very well. There were plenty of tables to sit out and the breakfast was delicious! Again, it is made to order. I like this new set up for Courtyards; it seemed very efficient. There's also free coffee in the lobby. Oh, one more thing. This hotel is very very close to the Prime Outlets shopping mall. It's not as close as the Fairfield Inn, but less than a mile away from the outlets. I got a good rate, but it was still a little high for my taste (it did include the breakfast for 2). But, this is the going rate for St. Augustine, and it is certainly a lot cheaper than the hotels downtown. read more

Pros - Location is perfect (close to I-95 and close to historic downtown). Staff was polite and hotel and room were clean and neat. Cons - The BED! We both had a miserable nights sleep. The king bed we had was unbelievably uncomfortable. We both woke up with our backs bothering us. The pillows are small and hard, and no matter how much you moved them, it didn't change. After my neck started bothering me, I used my sweatshirt as a pillow instead. Maybe we got a one-off room with a bad bed, but considering a good nights sleep is a top priority when choosing a hotel, I'd think twice before booking here. read more

This hotel is legit, ya'll. I've stayed in a variety of mediocre hotels in my day and for the under $100 a night price point, this is your winner. The location of the hotel is less than ideal for those visiting downtown St. Augustine and the beaches, but for the price I'm willing to take the hit. The interior (of the hotel and the rooms) was beautiful and the front desk staff was exceptionally friendly. Unfortunately, the cleaning staff wasn't so up to snuff and left a note saying they "couldn't make our beds due to a laptop on the bed." Really? REALLY? I understand that people are very nitpicky about their items being handled and are worried about theft, but come on. Somedays all that was done was the toilet being cleaned. Oh well, at least the beds felt like heaven. Otherwise, the hotel was fabulous. The gym is a little small, but they do offer weights and a few cardio machines (all with personal tvs) and it was never busy. The food downstairs was delicious and they offer a nearly full Starbucks menu. Most importantly, the wifi was always fast and reliable! read more

This was a clean excellent hotel with an $84 price tag ($96/tax). It's six miles from downtown St. Aug (we appreciated the quiet) but across the street from the outlet malls and right off the interstate. Friendly, helpful staff. Large room. Great bathroom. Comfy beds. Everything seemed new. Two computers in business center. On site bistro for breakfast and lunch--and wine bar at night. At 2 a.m. a sulfur smell of the extreme degree infiltrated the room awaking me. It was extreme and "choking". It took 2 hours to dissipate. This smell is smelled occasionally on the drive down 16. Not sure if it's a local water source or a chemical rend-off from a factory. (bad eggs smell). The hotel would not acknowledge an awareness of the event. It was suffocating and I would not want to endure it again. This is the only thing keeping me from marking this five-star. read more

Was nice TV needed to be better system was not working 1 st night in. AC was was not working at first and they promptly fixed it offered us another room if needed. We stayed in our room because they handled it promptly! Great bang for your buck was only 87 a night! Only real downside is they could have had a better food situation. read more

I was very disappointed in this Marriott. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Also, there was 1 small elevator for all guests. The worse part was no coffee available in the lobby unless the Bistro was open and you wanted to pay a fortune for it. For the cost of the room, they could at least have complimentary coffee! read more

I was so impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. When I first came in, seriously early (10a) I asked if I could leave my things with them because I didn't want to leave it in my car while I went to Old Town. They said they actually had my room ready and had been waiting for me (?!? Read on to find out) When I got up to my room, along with all the other complimentary items and a beautiful room, I had a red rose on my pillow. When I called my husband to tell him I'd gotten in safely he said he'd called all the hotels I was staying at on my trip and this was the only one that would get a flower and leave it in my room for me. Topping all this off (in my poor, lobstery, white girl opinion) is that they offered me free aloe for my sunburn when I came in from the pool all red. Bless these folks! read more

The hotel was okay. The staff were nice enough and I felt comfortable with the room however no one in the hotel were enforcing covid regulations. Guests were walking around without masks and crowding into elevators. It made the stay a little uncomfortable. It would be nice if the staff would remind guests at check in that there are guidelines in place. The water in the bathroom took about 10 minutes to heat up for a shower and elevator definitely needed some fixing. Overall, fine for a budget hotel if you get a good deal on the room but not covid friendly. Will not be returning to this Marriott unfortunately. read more

One lousy hotel !Ive been in many courtyards before and they were OK ,but this one is no good, first of all the rooms are not clean they don't have napkins or new tissues ,tissues that they have our old & have been used. Friendly evening staff. Matthew and Kimberly were great. However, this place is not very organized. They messed up my reservation and my bill. When I tried to explain and show my confirmation, the lady would not even look at it. She said she understood, made a correction and gave it to me. It was still wrong...she then made another correction. Now I have two receipts that I will be explaining for one stay on my expense report. Courtyards are suppose to be business hotels, but this one is more of a Fairfield than a Courtyard. Also the shower has very low water pressure. The best thing about this place is the third floor rooms. Make sure you request one. They have 12' or so ceilings. read more

Picked this property over the Fairfield because they are generally nicer and the breakfasts are better. The results? The good: location is convenient to I95 and six miles from downtown. Priced reasonably for St Augustine. The staff is very nice. The first floor including the restaurant has been renovated. The bad: wasn't recognized as an honored guest at checkin. No free breakfast. I being a Marriott platinum member I found this hotel to be a little disappointing. Upon our check-in we were met by a somewhat rude receptionist. To make matters worse, we discovered that our reservations were incorrect and the hotel would not find a way to get the rest of my team on site with a military rate for the duration of our stay. I've stayed here a number of times. And twice in the past 2 weeks. The suites are large and very quiet. In fact I needed shampoo and was yelling at my husband from the shower but he'd shut the door in the suite between the bedroom and living room and he couldn't hear me. (Or that was his excuse!) I'm weird about germs and wipe down the remote, switches etc when I stay in hotels and the wipes didn't pick up any visible grime from any surface. It's not a super fancy place but it's clean and quiet and I'm always happy with it. read more

The staff was welcoming and friendly. They also assisted us on numerous occasions in finding local spots we needed to get to, such as Epic Theatres. The rooms were painted lively and clean. The linens were fresh. The hotel offers Starbucks products and a mini grocery area that is accessible at all hours with the front desk clerk. This hotel was very close to all the local area such as the light house, the beach, down town, etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to town on a budget or on a short stay. I stayed at this location when hurricane Matthew came through for five days. The rooms were clean and spacious and not as expensive as I thought it would be. The staff was on top of everything from the first day like when a big parking lot lamp post almost fell on a row of cars including my truck. The two guys from maintenance took it down while the hurricane was in full force with no damage to any vehicles. The general manager mike was very professional as well as an all around good person who was very attentive to us. I definately recommend this hotel and I will be coming back stay. read more

I stayed there for Labor Day weekend 2013, and I give the hotel a high rating. To start, the sign is easily visible from the road (Road 16). The parking lot has plenty of spaces and no valet/no need to check in your car. The hotel lobby and rooms are very clean. My room had two queen size beds plus an office desk for computer work, so this makes it easy for me to work. The room also had a closet to hang clothes and a refrigerator that kept food very cold, They allowed late checkout at 2PM instead of the normal at Noon (just ask for this if you need it, and it should be free if they are not otherwise busy with many guests). Their lobby has small café to make some meals for breakfast and lunch, and the prices were fair. The people who work the front desk and café were very polished / friendly people. A traveler's note: when you book a hotel like this, which is 2-3 miles outside of town, sometimes the prices are better and the staff helps you more. They try harder to earn your business because they are outside of town. It's not always that way at hotels in general, but it is certainly a factor here! I read some other postings on this hotel, and people said it's not an ideal location if you're visiting St. Augustine. I don't understand this. If you have a car, it's no problem. Driving to downtown was about 10 minutes away (east on Road 16 and south on San Marcos). I would have paid 2X or 3X if I stayed close to the downtown area. I'd rather save the money. read more

Clean rooms and friendly staff however I had my small kids with me on this trip. When the TV is turned on it always powers up on the BET channel which is NOT a good channel for kids. There were several times I had to turn the channel very fast so as to keep the kids from seeing something inappropriate. The room was beautiful and the front desk clerks were super nice. But my happy experience ended when it came morning time and I met the breakfast clerk. I ordered the same coffee I ordered the night before but instead of tasting like Starbucks it was gross. I also ordered a parfait. When I got to my room and tasted it, you could tell the yogurt was going bad. Upon looking at the date I noticed that it was made two days ago!! When I went back down for a refund I explained that it tasted funny and that it was two days old. The breakfast lady started with "yeah but..." Before the male front desk clerk interrupted me by offering to replace it. I didn't feel like tasting multiple ones to get a fresh fresh one so he gave me a refund. While waiting for my money I noticed that all the rest had today's date on it. They sold me an old one when they had fresh ones. Then when my whole group went down for breakfast my cousin started the entire ordering process first. Everybody in our group and all the other guests that ordered after her got their food before hers was ready which is ridiculous. They didn't even apologize for her wait! read more

This was our first time staying at Courtyard..Room was nice, except for the super hard mattress... spent 3 very uncomfortable nights....like another marriott that we have stayed at, they have a couple of bottles of water in the room.. I thought,, what a nice touch !! Until I saw it was $3.50 a bottle.. we brought our own water.. no free breakfast like so many places have, but that was ok...theres a Dunkin Donuts just down the street. When I gave the woman at the desk my key at checkout.. she just grunted at me... thats ok too... we wont be back !!!! read more
