After months of anticipation... I finally made it to Alfie's…read more It was exactly what I was hoping it would be: a slice of culture. Real people. Real life. Real youth. Real energy. Real good vibes. Orlando obviously has no shortage of places to eat, drink, and gather, but Alfie's belongs to that rare category of venues that feel equally at home in a major metropolis. It's the kind of spot that would fit seamlessly into Los Angeles's best neighborhoods: think Gold Line in Highland Park or the Vinyl Room at the Hollywood Palladium. Not because they're carbon copies, but because they share that intangible quality of genuine discovery and cultural curiosity. The crowd ( age range 25 - 35 mostly ) was genuinely engaged with one another. People were actually talking, actually present, not hunched over their phones. That alone felt invigorating. There was an undeniable spark in the room. Alfie's wasn't chasing trends; it was simply allowing them to emerge naturally. What impressed me most was how they brought it all together .. Retro stereo equipment and vinyl players from the 50s mixed with a bar area that's super sleek and modern. Conversations, music, the lounge itself .... all came together in a way that felt alive and IN THE MOMENT. When my LA friends visit, Alfie's is on the list. Go after 9 or 10 PM and plan to stay for at least two hours. That's when you really see the scene develop and come alive. Bring your ID: they card at the door. Even at my age, I still get carded. No complaining about that ! lol

I sat at a table with one of my girl friends. we had to switch tables twice because they were so wobbly. The third one was still wobbly, but at least it had a dirty rag someone shoved under it. We went up to the bar to order real quick, and to ask the bar tender about the drinks on the happy hour menu. There weren't that many people at the bar and multiple bar tenders, but it took us so long to flag someone down. One guy at the end of the night even said someone would be with us, then he went and cleared our table even though we were going right back to it. The bar tender we ended up getting didn't speak a single word to us and he disappeared midway through our short stay. We ordered our drinks and after so long of not seeing them we decided to look for them. Turns out they were left with a group of guys at the bar. My friend was so uncomfortable because she's had bad experiences with her drinks being left unattended. We still ended up drinking them after the guys eventually left the bar. They were very bland, weak, and sweet. For $10 happy hour getting a sus drink that tasted like melted ice- big nope. I will never be going back.

I've celebrated my birthday here, have met up with friends here and more gone when they had a food collab. This place is awesome. They get very busy but the ambiance is fun. Last year, we got a group together to celebrate "The Eve Before the Eve" (12/23) and we had such a blast! Tasty cocktails, chill atmosphere. They do not serve food at this establishment but you can order food or bring food in. It kind of works out because there is so much delicious food on the strip! If you want a good craft cocktail, access to delicious eats nearby or a place to meet up with some friends for a birthday or just because, this is a good place to start! And please, for the love of god try the Tom Collins if that's your kind of drink...it's so good!

The food is ok again but severely over priced for what it is with the only thing priced appropriately is the 7 layer chocolate cake which can be shared as it is quite large. The pretzel everyone mentions is good but again way very over priced. The server we had was very nice and even offered us to box the second cake included with the wicked wind down to take home. He did forget that I requested no ice in my first drink and i had to request water refills and soda refills several times and wasn't very fast at bringing the drinks, but he was pleasant overall I would go again mainly for the view and maybe a drink, but knowing what to expect helps.

It was literally bitter sweet, with the sweetness coming from the fruits, and the bitterness most likely from the liquor. It was still a good and refreshing drink. For the appetizer, I had to try their unique and popular pork belly s'mores. It looked like a dessert, but a sweet and savory dish. The pork belly was braised nicely and tender, with the marshmallow adding the sweetness. The homemade crackers were very nice, and the jalapeno added a nice kick. The main dish was the bourbon chicken. It was nicely tender and had a hint of sweetness from the bourbon. The rice went well with the chicken, and the broccolini was perfectly grilled. For dessert, the bread pudding with ice cream was a perfect end. Moist and delicious. It was getting full, so I was able to save some and enjoy at home too. The service was attentive with my bartender checking up with me occasionally. They were quite busy, but still friendly. The dining area looked dark and a bit more formal than last time I visited. But still social and relaxing. I didn't get to see the outdoor patio, but it looked nice from the inside. I parked at the UCF/Valencia garage, which was 3 dollars per hour. Sadly, they don't validate parking. I am so happy I ate at the Monroe for my last magical dining. It's been a while since I eaten there, but the food and drinks are still great. The server came around and took our orders, promptly brought our water every time our water was low, and checked in on us. I got the Caesar salad, the Mushroom Stroganoff and the bread pudding. All three were delicious. The salad was straightforward and was exactly what I would expect from a Caesar salad, but the stroganoff was the standout. The pasta was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The only thing I could say that would make it even better was if it was a little less salty. The mushrooms really carried through, the sauce was creamy, and the micro greens helped brighten up the brown color palate. The desert, I love bread puddings and this had a modern twist. It was served as a square, crispy on the outside, like it was deep fried, covered with cinnamon sugar, but still soft on the inside. It was almost like a bread pudding crossed with a churro, which I loved. Highly recommend, I will also say, I love all their restaurants.
