She was incredibly light-handed, communicative throughout the entire process, and genuinely so good at what she does. I also really appreciated how educational and informative she was. She walked me through proper aftercare and made sure I understood how to care for my skin after sugaring, which made the entire experience even better. But honestly, what stood out most was how comfortable I felt around her. It genuinely felt like I was hanging out with a friend I'd known forever just girl talking and laughing while she did her thing. There was never an awkward or uncomfortable moment. The facility is also very clean and everyone was very nice and friendly. If I could give Hillary 10 stars, I absolutely would! At 9:17 a.m., I was finally able to reach someone who informed me that the manager had been trying to contact me for two days because there were no trainees available for the time slots they themselves posted on the booking site. I checked my account just last night, and the appointment was still confirmed. No one ever attempted to contact me or cancel the booking. This experience was extremely unprofessional and disappointing coming from Sugaring NYC. I added a tip but only $10 as I honor tipping services but I refused to genuinely reward the service I was given! It was an unbearable pain for about 2 1/2 hours. That level of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. If you're providing a service, the bare minimum is to listen to your customer and respect what they ask for. Instead, she kept contradicting me and making excuses instead of taking responsibility. I went there because of the positive reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite. She clearly does not listen to customers and does not know how to handle eyebrows for men. I would not recommend this place at all. I've been getting brazilians done for about 5 years now and this is by far the best one I've ever had. She uses the best grade of hard wax I've ever seen. In the past I've been to other salons that use hard wax but only put a thin layer on. Therefore when they pull it off, it breaks on your skin and they have to keep picking it back up again. If you can imagine, it's very painful. Because cyndi uses such high quality wax in conjunction with the fact that she puts a thicker layer on your skin, it comes off in one piece which is MUCH less painful and so much faster. I arrived early for my appointment and she got me out before my start time even. She gave me a mirror at the end so I could check the Brazilian and make sure it was to my liking. Nicole is the esthetician who runs her business inside of the Reserve Salon & Spa, which is what you will find when you pull up the address in google maps. This business is within the Towne Lake Shopping center square and Cypress Wax Spa is located on the second floor in Room # 4. There is a very friendly receptionist when you enter from the 2nd floor, and numbers are posted outside of the Rooms/Suites. I was 10 minutes late because it was a bit unclear where the actual spa was located , but it was not a stressful experience because everyone was so friendly and helpful. Anyway, the entire experience was better than I actually anticipated. Nicole's station is immaculate, organized, and clean, and she is clearly well educated in her field, utilizing first class products. It was the most painless experience I've ever had, and she employs a plethora of organic and natural oils throughout the entire process. For my wax she did a quick refresh over my bikini area using jasmine cleansers and lavender oils, and then she communicated ingredients in what she was using when as she applied the product. She used both soft and hard wax, and walked me through her process every step of the way. What I really appreciated was her telling me when I would expect a more intense sensation during the waxing and when to breathe out since it had been a while due to being traumatized a few months back. She was consistently gentle in her approach and skill. Her communication skills were excellent. She did upsell me during my wax, but her pricing is extremely reasonable and the results are amazing. I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes when your esthetician is well versed in her craft and takes true pleasure in educating her clientele during the process.
