I had a flat tire on the highway and called AAA, who sent Countryside Towing to assist me. The driver removed my doughnut spare tire from the trunk and commented how I had my own scissor jack and torque wrench laying on top of the tire. He placed them all on the side of the road while he changed the tire using his own floor jack. I was in the car while he was doing it, then he cleaned up his tools and I assisted him in putting the busted tire in my trunk. I then asked him to check the pressure in the doughnut tire, as it wasn't pumped up in years. He said he didn't have a working gauge or pump, but the my tire was fine. I knew better, so I pulled off at the next exit and checked the tire pressure with my own gauge at the gas station. It read 19 psi instead of 60, so I pumped it up with the gas station pump. The next day my partner went to change my doughnut tire to a proper size tire, and realized that my scissor jack was not in the trunk. I called the company asking if the driver had mistakenly put my jack in his car with his tools, but they denied it. I know there was nothing left on the side of the road when I was leaving, so my jack could only be in his car. So, I'm out $100 for a new jack, and the driver is not equipped to pump up the tires he is changing. Very disappointed with the whole experience and filing a complaint with AAA and BBB. read more

I contacted AAA for towing of my vehicle. I was told the driver would be there in about 90 minutes. I was also told the first three miles of towing was free and it was $3 a mile after that. I asked if I would be billed for the difference and was told I should pay the tow truck driver directly. It was then that I asked the customer service rep if I can pay with a credit card and was assured I could. When the tow truck driver arrived I signaled him and walked over to let him know that this was the car to be towed. He immediately seemed annoyed when I told him the car was going to a dealership and if he knew where they were located. I gave him directions and told him he could follow me there. He said it was cash only. I told him specifically asked the office earlier and they assured me a credit card was fine. He said he does business on a cash basis only and we could stop at an ATM along the way. I agreed and he followed behind me towing my car. To streamline things, I called ahead to the dealer as we were approaching the car dealership and asked where the car should be left. The sales manager was outside waiting when we pulled in and directed the tow driver to the spot where he could leave the vehicle. Before going into the service station, I told the driver we didn't pass any ATMs and he very abruptly said to tell the dealer to pay the tow charge and they could add it to my bill. The sales manager at the dealer said the service department wasn't open on the weekends and therefore couldn't add it to my bill. He said there is an ATM less than a mile straight down the road. The tow driver came in at this point and said, " I have cars waiting to be towed - let's move it along - I don't have all day!". The three salespeople present were notably surprised by his outburst and the manager repeated where the ATM was located as I escorted the driver out of the building. As instructed, the tow driver followed me up the road to the ATM. Once there, I withdrew $60 (three $20 bills) walked over to the driver who was waiting in his truck. I gave him the cash and he said he didn't have any change and the charge is more now because he had to drive up to the ATM. He said, "as a matter of fact, it's $60 even, now - sign below". When I refused to sign the receipt he said "Fine, I can sign it for you then - you don't like it - call the cops, I don't have time for this shit!" He drove off with his truck tires spinning in the road salt of the parking lot. Up until this point, I was surprised at the tow driver's oafish and belligerent behavior, but he certainly crossed the line when he drove off with $7 he owed in change. This tow truck driver was not only unethical but also criminal in his behavior. Fortunately, later that night I was able to resolve this issue with him after discussing his options. I can only hope that AAA insists on its towing stations use criminal background checks before it allows these drivers access to the public. I don't even want to think of what could happen if this jackass was sent out for road assistance to a stranded female motorist at one o'clock in the morning. read more

They towed a car from downtown Hudson, understandably doing their job. However it's Sunday and we had to call Hudson Police department to figure out who towed the car. Looking online for their phone number it said they were closed not reopening until Monday and the phone number went to someone's cell phone. We had to call Hudson Police Department a second time to confirm that it was them and we had to flag down one of their trucks in the area who gave us a direct phone number. When we called to see if our car was there the operator said it was "like"$235 FOR LESS THAN AN HOUR and we had to pay in cash only. Not only was the facility hard to find but shady as well. read more

We called and they stated rudely that someone would be there in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later a very unprofessional person showed up and changed the amount of money we owed him. And it was cash only. On July 21st 2015 I had a minor motorcycle accident on 290 East at 7:30 in the morning. Hudson Police contacted Countryside Towing to tow my motorcycle. When I called Countryside to retrieve my bike, I was told that I had to pay a gate fee to release my motorcycle unless I was willing to have them tow my motorcycle back to my home. I asked why I would have to pay a gate fee during business hours and the countryside representative told me that that was policy. I asked if the policy was in writing and she stated it is not. A gate fee would be appropriate if someone had to get out of bed and go down to the shop and open the gate, but it is a ridiculous and inappropriate fee for someone just to release property to an owner. I own an antique Porsche 911s and on those occasions I need my car taken to the shop, Countryside is THE flatbed tow service my high-end foreign car mechanics recommend. Today, on the eve of a snow storm, Countryside just came to my house to pick up my Jeep Wrangler - a major rear dif. leak, AND a dead battery to boot. Totally unprofessional. This guy was sent to pick me up by AAA. He got upset that I had to give him a CCN over the phone and "accidentally" sent my car off the flatbed with the E-brake still on. Terrible service, John hung up me multiple times. I received a confirmation message at 4:00 saying the ETA was 4:49. I called at 5:30 and was placed on hold several times because they had "more important calls coming in". When I asked why John needed to take other calls when I was already on the phone with him he said "are you kidding me?" and proceeded to be incredibly rude. At 5:30, they had still not dispatched a tow truck for me. As it turns out, they had compeltely forgotten to send a truck. The estimated wait time was 45 minutes and when the time approached they weren't there and then I got a new estimated wait time of 2 hours longer. Do not pay these guys a dime!!!! These guys just showed up at my house (1/11/14) - dispatched by Hyundai roadside assistance - to pick up a friends car that had broken down. The flatbed was backing down my driveway and began to drive over the bushes off the side of the driveway - essentially ruining my landscaping. The guy kept going. So I whistled and yelled to get the guy stop - which he finally did. When he finally got out of the truck, I asked him " would you mind not ruining the landscaping on the way in here?". The guy said "you know what? Have a nice day" and left. When I called Countryside they told me they told me I had to call Hyundai again and have someone else dispatched because they couldn't get in the driveway. The Oil truck backs down the driveway monthly with no problem. Dump trucks have done the same, as have fire engines. These guys are totally unprofessional. I'd never pay them a dime. read more

I called AAA and they sent Countryside towing, Sean was the driver, he got to the spot where my car had died within 6 minutes of calling! (i was thrilled) He was Extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. I couldn't have been happier with the speed and professionalism that it was handled with. though my car is still out of commission my experience with Sean and countryside towing was most enjoyable. This place gets three stars and that is only because the second tow driver Shane did a great job. Earlier this week I got a flat tire and called AAA. They dispatched Countryside and a guy showed up with the battery change/tire change truck. After I showed him what had punctured my tire and I told him I was pretty sure it would not hold air he looked underneath at my spare and told me it looked rusted. I just said OK as I had no idea what he meant by that. He tried multiple times to lower the spare from underneath vehicle and was unsuccessful. It seemed to me he had trouble engaging the mechanism that would lower it. He then again stated that the spare tire just from looking underneath said it looked rusted and even if he could get it down it may not be safe to use. So I asked him what would the rust affect, he said it would be unsafe to drive, the tire could fall off and other damages may occur. So I took him at his word as he again tried unsuccessfully to lower the spare tire. He told me I would have to call AAA again for a tow. We shook hands as he apologized and went on his way. So I called AAA which in turn had me wait another 45 minutes or so for a flat bed tow truck to show up. The flat bed truck and driver came from the same company as the first guy, Countryside. It was a different person and he asked to take a look at the flat and the spare. He also asked me what the first driver had said so I told him. He apologized and said that the other guy was lazy and did not have a very good work ethic. The flat bed driver, Shane was able to lower the spare tire on the first try and change it out with the damaged tire on my vehicle. It took him no more than 15 minutes all the while apologizing for the other guy and saying that he often proves the other guy's laziness. After I explained my issues and that AAA had messed up the first time with the address and that I had been there waiting for a long time Shane offered to buy me a coffee and a snack from the Dunkins where I was parked. I told him thank you, but I am good and you don't need to do that. (I just finished one anyway) Shane the flat bed driver is the only reason this place gets three stars. The other guy although was nice just plain lied to my face and was proven to be lazy. I don't think I would use them in the future on my own and if AAA was to assign them to me again I would be weary of who shows up. Thank you Shane! read more

When the driver got there he not so nicely told me it would not be covered even though his company takes AAA and I have it. He would not give me 5 minutes to call and have it covered. Gave me no options. Wound up costing me 140, to get my car back and then AAA reimbursed me because this seems to be a habit for these slimy excuses for men. Steer clear. I've never had a worst experience with a service providers than these guys in my life. I hope NO ONE EVER has to deal with these guys. They were sent to me by AAA when I had an issue with my AAA car battery and I had specifically told AAA I needed battery service. The first instance the guy comes and checks the battery and says it's bad and is fully under warranty and would be replaced, but I'd had to wait another 40 mins for the battery truck to arrive. I was already late for work and let him know I'd call and let AAA know that I'd get the replacement done another day. A few days later I call AAA to get the battery replaced, another guy from the same company shows up who's the biggest jerk I've come across. He says the battery is in good condition and cannot be replaced and jump starts it. Another few days later I had to take the car out on a Saturday and it wouldn't start again. I call up AAA and explain to them what's happened the last few times and ask them to have the battery replaced. The same tow guy shows up an hour later, and tells my wife he's going to charge me $35 since I just renewed my AAA and leaves without even jump starting the car. I call up AAA at this point totally pissed off, they tell me I've gone over my incidents for the year and will be charged, I explain to them that it's been their battery which has been the issue and they should fix it asap. They promise to send someone with a battery within the next hour. I'm waiting at home for another hour and no sign of anyone. I call up AAA again saying no one has showed up. I'm told that there should be someone on the way very shortly after the rep confirmed with the dispatcher. While I'm talking, I get a call from AAA on another line. I call up AAA again, and now I'm told that the service guy didn't get the right battery and is going back to get the right battery. It's already close to 3 hours since the saga has started, I started losing it and asked to speak the supervisor. I explained to the supervisor what's happening over the past few weeks. She responds that the service is totally unacceptable and that she'd remove the last few calls from my limits for the year and would have someone replace the battery without any questions asked asap. The same jerk shows up in 20 mins, he looks to be quite pissed off now. He replaces the battery and asks for my AAA card to check for the warranty. He calls AAA and tells me I need to pay since it's out of warranty as the battery was purchased 12/12 and it's been over 3 years. I explain to him it'll be 3 years by 12/15. He talks to his boss and says that he's going to be removing the new battery. Oh, and he says he's returned my AAA card when he hasn't. I call up AAA again and tell them what's going on, in the meanwhile this guy goes to my car and starts removing the battery. I tell that's ridiculous and I talked to AAA and they're confirmed that it's under warranty. He starts saying that it's boss's battery and he's going to take it back and asks me not to invade his personal space while I'm talking to him and that the consequences wouldn't be good. He then gives me his phone saying his ownerwants to talk to me after he gets back into his truck. I expected the owner would apologize for the service. The owner now starts shouting expletives at me that I ruined his day and that he'd never service me and I'm red flagged. The tow tells he's leaving me without any battery and that I deserve it and honks on the way out. I call up the AAA supervisor again saying he left and told me I didn't have any battery in the car at this point, she puts me on hold and calls up the owner and then have her facilities manager talk to the owner. She then tells me to check the car to see if the battery is still there. I check the car and the new battery is there. She apologies for the experience I had to go through and says that they'll make sure I''' never have to deal with this service provider again. I placed the first call to AAA at 11:55 AM, it was 3:30 PM by the time I was able to leave home. These guys are service providers from HELL, good luck if you have to deal with them. Driver shows up first words out of his mouth are don't you think you'd be smart enough to move the car before I got here? From there I was told his life was more important than mine so I should be the one to stand on the side of the highway, mind you I don't wanna see anyone hurt but really that's what you tell a customer?, was called stupid yet again for not pulling over Closer to the guard rail. We all know towing is a frustrating industry to deal with, but this company in particular is horrible. A tow truck came to tow my friend who ran out of gas on 495 on a state trooper's orders, so we can't blame him for doing his job. The officer also suggested to bring some gas and he did not. Once at the site, he quickly loaded the car on the truck without listening to what we had to say and took the car by force. My friend didn't have any money to pay and barely any to get gas. Once off the highway, we figured out what the plan would be and we decided to let him take the car to the lot while we went to go get some money. At this time, the tower was smoking a cigarette and wouldn't have the decency to step out of the truck. I found this to be extremely unprofessional. After we got the money, we navigated to the towing company's headquarters to pick up the car. When my friend went to the office he was cursed out by one of the employees simply for entering the room. As I looked over at the truck the employee was driving I noticed it said "support your local hooker" on the sign in big letters. All these things adding up, I find this company completely illegitimate, rude, and unprofessional. read more

He was very pleasant, and quick and efficient in running the necessary tests and diagnosing the problem and replacing my battery. He also was very clear about everything he was doing and the cost of the battery replacement, so there were no surprises. My Dad, who was in the car business as a service manager for 35+ years, was visiting with us at the time and he was very impressed with Sean's work and said that's the kind of guy you want working on your service team! I would definitely recommend his services inside or outside of AAA. read more

He appeared intoxicated and I immediatly told him not to touch my car and I called a different tow company. Terrible situation, I felt bad for the driver but I still wasnt going to risk getting anyone hurt and hope he got home safe. read more
