My son's school laptop is missing out of my mom's car and I called to ask about it and they hung up on me. Told me they nothing to do with it. Told me he's been working since 7am. Told me to stop talking before I even finished asking him a question. I mentioned how impolite he's being and he even acknowledged it and kept on going. I called back and he was even more rude and hung up again. I called back and asked if I should come back with police and he said I can do whatever I want and hung up again. The office that inventoried the car also wonders where it is. I'm hoping the person that took it "finds" it and does the right thing. That will save me from having the school track it on Monday. read more

My friend got into car accident on beach street in revere a person came rushing out of his driveway without checking if cars or trucks before exiting his driveway and slammed I into her car. If you're in the position to choose another towing company, I'd highly recommend you do so. After a fender bender my car was towed here. It took a long time to settle with insurance company, which left my car in their lot for over 2 months. I've come here several times to collect my belongings and then to pick up my car. The staff have always been very rude and I'll mannered to say the least. The facility itself is very run down. If you need to use the bathroom you have to walk up I to the office past all the tow truck drivers as they tell dirty stories, neglecting to acknowledge your existence. Besides the staff, the layout of this place is awful. There's no format to it. Just car and boat parts all over the place..Be careful if you are walking! last but not least, security. This place has zero security. I don't think they have so much as a video camera anywhere. The cars are completely vulnerable to thefts. The subwoofer within the trunk of my car had it's cables cut and was broken in the process of theft. It's bad enough I'm in this predicament in the first place, but to add insult to injury... read more

5 Stars! I called AAA and was told that it would be an hour for the tow truck to arrive. G/J was there within 20 minutes. The driver was excellent. Reassuring from the minute he jumped out of the truck. Luckily all I needed was a battery jumpstart. We tried to set up a rollback to load a container. This company stated that they would be able to have someone out there. Then every time, we called back to schedule a roll back some one kept stating that the people we were looking for no longer worked there to blow us off. We agreed to pay a rate and it seems they were trying to charge us more money, and when we stated that we already had an agreed rate. That is when they decided to act like they had no idea what we were talking about. If you are in logistics and need something set up within a timely manner I do recommend you using these guys. If you are a private citizen and do not mind being screwed over on the rate, this may be the company for you. read more

This company cracks me up. They will "pad" the bill for all its worth. Watch them recover a rollover. They will use as many trucks as possible, take as long as possible, make it appear as difficult as possible just so they can charge as much as possible. We had a bad experience with this company. We made an appointment several days in advance for them to remove an oil tank from the cellar of a house we are renovating. They said they'd come 9-11 am. We made a great personal effort to get there that day. Long story short, they stiffed us. Never showed up. We called and called, Michelle kept saying oh, it'll be noon. Oh it'll be 2 o'clock. We had to leave at 4; they knew that. Basically they blew us off probably for another more lucrative job. I would not recommend. read more

My car broke down on my way to help my daughter with her down car. Not only did they help my daughter and i they helped us avoid different towing company committing fraud with our cars. During snow emergencies, most tow companies quickly and competently perform the necessary task of making streets safer and keeping roads clear. I understand and appreciate their purpose. I'm also aware that giving a negative review will accomplish nothing. Tow companies aren't adversely affected by negative ratings because they will always be in business, and they will always have the upper hand. There's no way around this. They take your car without your consent or knowledge and demand a small fortune -- cash only, of course -- before returning it to you. It's a sad fact of life in New England (and anywhere with heavy snow) but it does ensure that streets are clear for plowing. And, to be fair, G/J Towing was hassle-free once I arrived with their $123 fee/ransom money. I was there less than 2 minutes and they turned over the keys immediately. The reason for the low rating is the unacceptable and disrespectful way I was treated before coming to their office. I realize we aren't exactly "customers" when our cars are towed due to snow emergencies, but my interaction over the phone with G/J was totally devoid of humanity, decency, and reason. I was treated like a petulant child, subjected to profanity, and hung up on simply for inquiring about the details of their towing policies. I hope my conversation was one of the least negative they've experienced. I'm sure they been on the receiving end of every kind of insult, threat, and antagonistic human vitriol imaginable. It's a thankless, miserable job, and you need a pretty thick skin to constantly be on the defensive. But it's inexcusable to treat someone that way without provocation. If you're fortunate enough to have a choice in your towing needs, please try someplace else. read more

Such an easy process with GJ. Great, quick, and easy. They contact a driver as soon as you tell them where you are. Got stuck on the side of 93 South Boston in a terrible, unsafe area. The driver made me feel very safe and that my car would safely get to my destination. He also offered me a ride. They did not take longer than 20 minutes to get to me and there was no confusion. Very precise and easy to deal with. Will definitely call again when necessary! read more

BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!! I witnessed one of their drivers almost hit 3 cars when he did not yield on the on ramp for 95 S in Danvers. The driver went around all the cars and nearly hit them. After he turned on his back up bright lights to blind the drivers behind them. I reported this to G & J as this driver should be taken off the road completely. The person I spoke to tried to say that it was an emergency call for the state police. Tow truck drivers are not first responders and need to follow the same rules to ensure the safety of the cars around them. This driver was aggressive and dangerous as he tried to blind cars behind them. The man I spoke to hung up, indicating that he and G&J do not care about the well being of others. I recommend using Majestic or Shamrock towing. read more

I have had the very unfortunate experience of using G-J Towing not once or twice but three times in this past week. Once for towing and twice for battery jumpstarts. The first time I called for a tow I had been in an accident. The dispatcher put me at ease and came within an hour into Charlestown to get my car and bring it to my mechanic in Lynn. They were very professional. Just a few days later my BF's car wouldn't start and we called AAA. G-J showed up within 20 min and had the car running. The very next day we had to call again. We were told 90 min by AAA but when G-J showed up less than 30 min later we were happily relieved. Car was started and off to sears for a new battery. I will definitely use them again....Hopefully I won't have to. They made tough situations easy. read more

I can't comment on their service. I just know I experienced their bad driving on 495S yesterday. The driver was tail gating horribly and swerving in and out of traffic. I'm surprised he didn't cause an accident!!! For that I would never use their service or recommend it to anyone. read more

I have heard great things about this company. Unfortunately, due to an incompetent dispatcher, I will never know. I called for a tow (my boat trailer axle snapped). Was told they would be there in 30 minutes. I called in 50 minutes to get an update and was told "any Minute". Called back 20 minutes later (1 hr, 10 min on a half hour arrival) and was told "any minutea". I told him that is what he told me last time so he put me on hold and told me that the driver was one street away. Called back 20 minutes later (1.5 hours on a half hour arrival) to see if they were even sending someone. The dispatcher could not seem to comprehend why I was mad after waiting an hour and a half (and being told any minute for the last 40 minutes). It was clear he was not doing his job in terms of getting real estimates from the driver and I told him he should do a better job of managing expectations. He flipped out and canceled the tow. I called another company, they showed right up and did a great job. Not sure if the dispatcher was lazy or incompetent but he talked like he thought he was some sort of gangster and did not care abour the customers. read more
