I was having a rough experience with a U Haul trailer I'd rented for a long move, and after determining it was faulty, I gave their help line a call. They ended up sending Mario from Stoneham Towing out to look at it. I could not be happier with his service, WAY above and beyond the call of duty. He not only fixed the stupid trailer, but he helped my wife and I secure it to the truck and get our car properly stowed on it. U Haul makes that process sound easy, but it took easily an hour and a half, and Mario was exceedingly polite, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout. Did I mention he didn't need to do any of this? He was there to fix the trailer and go, but he stayed with us and took incredibly good care of us. Didn't charge us a cent (he does get paid by U Haul for coming out, but he billed it in such a way that there was no cost to us). We were on our way to Michigan and he called later to see how our trip was going. Just amazingly kind, with great service. If I'm ever in Massachusetts again and need some help, I won't hesitate to call him. read more

I agree with all the other reviewers here. After another towing company left me waiting over an hour, I called Stoneham towing and guy that came out was super nice and very professional. I think his name was Paul, or Brian. Anyways, great guy. I told him I wanted to learn how to change a tire myself in case I ever needed to, and he gave me a mini lesson. And, Stoneham Towing charged $25 less than what the other guys wanted to charge me. Just fantastic! read more

To say that Mario and Stoneham Towing is a life-saver, is an understatement! After roadside assistance wasted 4 hours of my time, I called Mario. I explained the bizarre predicament (car rolled down driveway and down a few stairs), he came over within 20 min and with professionalism and care, got my car out. He also made suggestions on pictures to take for insurance purposes and helped me diagnose why the car rolled.....literally a life saver. After getting the brushoff from another towing company connected to AAA, we called Stoneham Towing to rescue my car - it was 6 car lengths and 2 stories down our steep driveway, stuck just where it turns into our back yard. The snow and slush had frozen over, and we couldn't drive the car up. They arrived less than 20 minutes after we called, the driver was very friendly, very kind, and pulled the car out with a very long wench within another 20 minutes. AND, the charge was VERY reasonable, too. I hope I don't need a tow truck any time soon, but I'd call these guys in a heartbeat if I do. read more

We had an unusual piece of equipment to move the following morning. Called at 10:30 pm the night before, spoke to a live person (no answering service or voicemail) and easily confirmed that they had the right truck and could help us when we needed it. We called back in the morning when we were ready and they arrived within 15 min. It was a very unique job that we expected to take well over an hour but the driver arrived enthusiastic, ready, willing and equipped to get it done. They gave a tow quote on the phone that was cheaper then when they towed the car and with a phone call, personally RETURNED the overcharge with an apology for the mishap and without a big back and forth denial. I had an issue with my car this morning in Medford and it needed to be towed to the dealer in Reading. Not being familiar with any local towing companies, I asked the dealer if they work with any companies and they said they always use Stoneham Towing so I called them. I explained my issue to the fellow who answered. He listened and was very courteous. He said that since it was raining they were very busy but he would have someone there in about an hour. Sure enough, in just over an hour they showed up. The tow truck drive I only know by his initials on the receipt - "MM". He was very nice and immediately got to work on getting my car hooked up. He said I could wait in the truck and I could come along for the ride. We were on the road in short order. We had a pleasant conversation on the way. He dropped me off, took the car to wherever the service people wanted it and then game back and we settled the bill for what I thought was a very reasonable price. Absolutely excellent service. I broke down on Rte 28 in Stoneham this morning (car = dead, like way dead). I called up Stoneham Towing and they sent a tow truck out literally within five minutes, and I had it towed to their repair shop. The manager (potentially owner, I'm not sure) was really helpful, and called me a cab so I could get to work. I repeatedly let him know that I HAD to have the car back on the same day, and he delivered... three hours later, my car was good to go! Super-efficient, super nice guys. I sent an email to have a car towed that I bought on Craigslist; Jeff (the owner) responded quickly with a quote of $90.00. Thinking that was reasonable, I called them the next day to have my car towed and I was told that it was $100.00 by the dispatcher on the phone. Figuring that Jeff was not there and it was only 10% above the quote, I went along with it. The guy came very quickly and was very courteous and professional. I received a call from Jeff a few days later, stating that he was going through the records and he saw that I was billed $100.00, when he quoted $90.00. I told him that I just went along with the price I was given over the phone, being so close to the $90.00. Jeff stated his employees do not have access to the email and that they would not have known that he quoted $90.00 and that with the distance they towed me, they were going off of the price they usually charge. He then stated that he was going to honor the $90.00 quote that he gave me, and he would refund my card $10.00....Wow, not my businesses would take the time to do that. I was impressed.
