I recently had a car towed to Todisco. It arrived about 8PM, and I went to pay for it about 5PM the next day. On top of tow fees, Todisco charged me $117.70 in "Certified Letter" fees -- two charges of $58.85 each, purportedly for notification letters sent to the registered owner and lienholder. I was told that anyone who does not retrieve their vehicle before midnight on the night of the tow is automatically assessed these fees, regardless of whether they retrieve within 24 hours. Why This May Be a Class Action Lawsuit: certified letter fees do not appear anywhere in the authorized charge schedule under 220 C.M.R. § 272.00 or M.G.L. c. 159B, § 6B, which govern maximum charges for MSP-ordered involuntary tows. The Massachusetts State Police Consumer Guide to Towing explicitly lists every permitted charge and certified letter fees are not among them. This appears to be a systematic, policy-driven practice -- not an isolated error. I have identified at minimum three BBB complaints against Todisco describing the identical charge, including a March 2026 complaint from a woman whose car was towed during a medical emergency and who was charged the same two certified letter fees when she retrieved her car the following morning. The charge amounts are identical across complaints ($57-$58.85 per letter), strongly suggesting this is automated and company-wide. Todisco operates under MSP towing contracts covering multiple locations (East Boston, Roxbury, and Salem, MA) and is one of the larger MSP-contracted operators in the region, meaning the potential class suit could be substantial. I no longer care about my $117. Instead, I care whether this company is extorting residents of my neighborhood. If this has happened to you, should my case have been taken up by a local firm, there will be information for plaintiffs out there by googling. Consumer protection laws in Massachusetts allow for treble damages. If found liable, Todisco will be responsible for triple the amount taken. They likely estimated that the fee of $117 is not high enough for any one person to pursue this. They are wrong. read more

If I can give a 1/2 I do it. The worst of the worst, I have my car tow in January for snow park violation. Go next day, 1st they don't find my car, I wait for 3hrs calling and check until they find the car, paid fines when get in my car wasn't drivable, have a axle broken for the negligence they treat vehicles. They give me the contact of the person in charge and pass the case to him, after almost a month, in February he contact me to said they make a decision to don't cover the damage because they assume that part was old and is going to break anyway. We're talking about a company have contract to the state, apart of private service, the axle cost around $70 and they have a show, mechanics that labor goes free, this is how this people works. A month later they take another car that been parked for 3 month with others cars of my neighbors and yes, the only one they take was my car, without a police ticket and of course they damages this one to, front bumper, reinforcement and radiator, I take this one quickly because still running and the charge me ridiculous amount of money that feels some type of retaliation and intimidation. Now We're in June, they still have the 1st car that tow in January, they don't care about nothing and people's property and if you don't have a lot of money nobody want to represent you against this abuse and companies. read more

Lord help you if you ever get your car towed here. I come in I'm at the counter. I see the receptionist is on the phone. She see's me but no acknowledgment at all just a look. I sat down and waited. The receptionist is extremely rude, bad at communicating, doesn't smile just straight faced, and doesn't tell you steps to take. There is no small talking w this one. There is another customer who was there to pay her tow and get her car as well. She came in do chipper until face to face with this bright star lol she shoved the paper in the receptionists hands because she was clearly frustrated at her expressionless non care tude. She looks up your plate etc, you pay and she doesn't explain charges, takes payment and says ok. She doesn't tell you where to hey your car is. You just walk out to your right to find your car only mines want there. They apparently have two lots. They pretty much could not locate my car for. Because the staties took my plates. A nice tow truck driver was able to help look for it he finally had to use my alarm to find it. I got it but had to get my plates from troopers headquarters way across town. I come bk with my plates and go straight to tow lot where the tow driver left it for me. I ask receptionist if there is anyone yo help screw on plates. She says no one is available which is a lie because there were two tow trucks there. She didn't want to get off lazy ass to look for someone. She said place them on dash. They towed my car that was parked in a wrong spot. Unpleasant, but understandable. But they broke in the car, I guess to release the parking brake, scratched the paint, bent the driver's door frame and put a few dents on the interior. On top of that they put the sticker on the driver's door glass that is extremely sticky. I spent 20 minutes removing and cleaning the residue. Looks like they really like damaging people's cars. Even if you are concussed, bruised, in shock, surrounded by cops and about to head to ER. Take a moment to seek out a reputable tow company. Avoid Todisco at all costs. Todisco Towing are rude, dishonest scam artists. They lie about procedure, insisting that the registered owner has to go in person to sign for the car to be released, and significantly overcharge after the final towing and storage amount has been verbally given on the phone - they gave a final cost on the phone, sent the payment link and then charged the card $250 more than quoted without any notice. Seriously, "fuel surcharge" of $30 for less than 1/10 of a mile? Moreover, they will also damage your vehicle! (Not ever operator is bad, some of them do their job really well). Had to give them 3 stars because to me it's closer to 2 1/2 which was what I really wanted to give them. OK let's just start that it was my bad that my car ended up being towed. I saw that it said the fourth Tuesday but it actually was the third Tuesday which was yesterday. I was a little messed up from driving like a maniac just trying to keep a roof over my head working my side job and it's dark every time I get home literally 3 AM so that's my bad for not triple checking the signs. I was nice all the way up until I get to the place literally took me almost an hour to get there clearly I don't have anybody to take me there clearly ubers are extremely expensive I definitely not gonna pay $60 just to go pick up my car so I took the trains and bus and save less. Then when I get there I was fine and nice until he ended up telling me it was $216.73 to get my car out and I was like "wait a minute the lady on the phone told me the correct amount event when she told me to hold on so she could get the proper calculations correct which was totaled to $181.73 so why is it more"? I'm aggravated because they are crooks and they won't even fess up to the mistake of giving me the wrong amount and bad Information. I guess nickel and dimming customers is their way of handling business. I hope they're happy with the extra $35 and whoever is that they're using to process their digital payments so don't go there with debit or credit guys or a stupid check just give these people cash so they don't try to say there's fees added on top of whatever it is that they claim to say you owe. Oh let me correct myself they are getting an extra $35 but that fabulous service that they're using is getting an extra $7.55 for using their electronic payment process. This is extremely unfair and unjust. Why do I have to pay an $8.05 certified letter fee when certified letters don't even cost $8.05, and why are you sending me a certified letter when the car was just towed yesterday just one day of having my car I need to get a certified letter in the mail. Why am I paying toll for something that could've been towed to neighboring locations that they have within the same vicinity of where they picked up my car. Why the heck am I paying gas fees for something that I didn't want total begin with why do I have to pay you $2.10 is it really worth the $2.10. I almost felt like I was being a bother to them. He took both my sons number and mine. I told him my sons phone was about to die. When I tried to tell him where my son was he abruptly ask me, ma'am, just give me the address! so I gave him the address and try to tell him it was between Gracenote coffee and Help me relax, so I gave him the address to Grace note , two hours go by I called to see if they had got to my son , by the way, it was night time and he's locked out of his car when I called back at 11:00 I was told that they couldn't find his car and they tried calling both of us which was a complete lie!! I have been waiting for the call and I told him my sons phone was about to die. so I told him I never got a call and nor did my son and he says I'm not gonna call my driver, a liar, and started being extremely rude to me and hung up on me twice!! when my son was stranded! This company is under contract to Metro Management/ Villa Michelangelo in Boston's North End.They are supposed to perform "drive-bys" and tag cars illegally parked in our lot and warn them to not park here. Second offense is supposed to effect a tow. Management is seldom on the property. People from out of state park in the lot and many park for days/ overnight without being tagged. People park in the "15 minute live parking " spots as well for an entire day. I have reported all of this to Management but they don't respond. I didn't realize this company had multiple sites throughout Boston, so when I called the number on their website & was told they have my boyfriends car on the lot I Uber'ed from Dorchester to Eastie. Come to find out, the car was actually on their lot in Roxbury. That was the last thing I wanted to hear, but the woman at the front desk on 4/15 was super sweet & friendly. She felt really bad about what happened and even asked if any of their drivers were heading that way so I wouldn't have to pay for an Uber back. When I got there The person who said his name was "Robert" was very satirical of my situation. His overall attitude was very offensive, extremely unnecessary, and uncalled for. I went to pick up my car after being towed for street cleaning - the man at the desk loudly continued his conversation about his infected piercings in an inappropriate part of his body with the female coworker instead of helping me. I was trying to ask questions about why I was charged 170$ for being towed 5 minutes away. There was a "toll fee" a "day fee" and my car was only there for 2 hours. He did not want to help me, he was more involved in his nasty side conversation I had to listen to. Unfortunately, weeks later, I got towed again and had to deal with the SAME guy. He is horribly rude and unhelpful. This place charges an INSANE rate for a tow that honestly should not even be allowed. Other tow companies around the area cost at most 120$. I was in the military and I had an Army bag in my car. I got in an accident and one of their employees was caught on camera grabbing the bag that had my uniform, dog tags, letters from my parents while I was gone and more memorabilia from inside my car and putting it into his truck. He went through my bag and things were stolen. Completely and utterly unacceptable. I filed a police report and I find this completely ridiculous. While in the hospital I had to be dealing with this shit. The rat who took my bag just dropped it off at a different towing place, I went to pick it up and guess what? Bags Empty. horrible deceptive manipulative and arrogant people desperate for money. I parked my car at Walgreens parking lot . I literally spent 6 mins total outside the parking lot. I grabbed the subway right bed tkt subway , which literally took 30 seconds as my mobile order was ready for pickup then I headed to Walgreens for my prescription. my lunch time of 30 mins became over an hour , I had to walk 30mins to the towing area and explain that the time spent outside the Walgreens was so immaterial L. Just because I didnt go to the Walgreens first thing doesn't mean that I misused walgreens parking. They just start acting arrogant and saying that we have proof and videos that you didn't go to Walgreens when you left parking lot. I wish they understand that law is there to enforce harmony and reasonable behaviour, not there for money desperate people like you who will tow the car because someone wasn't at wallgreens at every second outside the parking lot, while over half of the parking lot was empty. if Walgreens contracted you to help their customer have better service, you are very good at doing the exact opposite. Honestly the more I think about it, the more I get angry. I had my car towed by the state police to todisco towing. I wasn't able to get my car out of impound for a few weeks. And when I was able to get my merchandise today I came to notice a few things missing like some apple chargers which didn't bother me as much as my airpods being stolen out of my car. The chargers are valued at $30 a piece and the airpods are valued at $159. Not the most expensive but the fact that I got them for my son after he worked so hard to earn them, and now they're in someone else's possession.. That is what is really burning me up. They literally dispatch their drivers to stills people cars with no mercy under the claim of enforcing parking signs or "this is how we make money". My car was hit by one of the company's tow trucks on 10/29 and the driver did not have a policy number to give me . I am now running through hoops emailing employee called Matt to rectify the issue and give me their commerce insurance policy number to file a claim . This insurance card should be in the drivers glove compartment. It's been 3 weeks with no correspondence to emails or calls . Commerce suggested i go through my insurance which I shouldn't have to involve because the driver of the tow truck is at fault . Understanding that no tow experience is a good one, I can confidently say this was the most horrific experience I have had in my 10+ years in Boston. I currently have a bad case of covid and realized (a little too late) that I didn't move my car for street cleaning. I ran downstairs to see my car just being put on the truck and nicely asked that they take it off the truck because I have covid and wouldn't be able to come and pick it up - as I should not be around people. The person towing the car not only said no, which I understand there are rules in place, but then yelled at me saying he didn't "give a F" if I have covid and I can obviously leave the house - openly mocking me for not wanting to expose others to covid. Then he continued to berate me as I asked him how I was supposed to get my car with covid - he was truly the most nasty and aggressive person I have ever dealt with. While I can appreciate that he has a job to do, this person and the entire company should be ashamed of this behavior. I'll be escalating this further to the City of Boston and the BBB. read more
