This is our second time here. The first time we came was when they first opened and they were so behind on orders for breakfast that we didn't wait and left. Didn't want to hold the new restaurant rush against them, so I decided to not review. On this visit, for dinner, the crowd was light and our food came out fast. I had the fried chicken plate and my wife the chicken fried steak. The food was very well seasoned, good portions and prices. Big menu with lots to choose from, plus all day breakfast. We look forward to coming back to try the other menu items. I will say that the chairs are not comfortable, but I hate chairs with arms at restaurants. read more

You wouldn't think much when you first see it but is definitely worth stopping in. My fiancé had the chicken fried steak, I had the French toast and my son had the classic burger. The waitress was attentive and so kind! We will be eating here when we visit my fiancés granny. Don't go to a fast food restaurant if you near by this place it's basically homestyle food. Had breakfast here this morning and prob will not be back. You walk in and sit yourself. Maybe 10 tables total. I waited for a table because they were full for about 45 minutes. Other people walked in and sat down before we could grab a table. Another man got pissy with me when I spoke up about him being seated before me when I arrived before him. The waitstaff is on the slow side but very pleasant once they tend to you. Breakfast was good and inexpensive. Not amazing. I won't make the trip out to Splendora just for this establishment again. read more

It was a nice place. The staff was very nice. My sister and I stopped there for lunch. I had read great reviews about it. We had to wait about 45 min for our food. We both ordered the chicken fried steak. Adequate portion for us, but I know my husband would have been disappointed. I do want to try their breakfast though. My other sister said breakfast was great. Please know that I will go back again because I know how hard it is to have a small business. I can't wait to try the breakfast menu. Hands down, the best food in Splendora. I've tried just about everything on the menu expecting to be dissapointed by something. I've been very pleased by all the fare offered. The breakfast omelets are amazing. The burgers are juicy and well flavored, the chicken-fried steak is large, well seasoned and crunchy. Tonight I figured I would finally catch them slipping. Who makes a really good grilled chicken salad? Better question still, who can make make a grilled chicken salad TO GO that tastes and looks good?... Country Scrambled did. For a little diner in the middle on one of the most rural communities is East Montgomery County to make a salad that delicious, well portioned, and visually appealing is unheard of. It even had feta cheese to add a hearty "zing" to the meal. Congrats to all involved in delivering consistently exceptional food, a clean quaint environment, better than average service and amazing modest prices. Decent food at a good price but they could definitely do with a few changes. There's a noticeable odor of cigarette smoke so I don't know if that's the employees smoking in the kitchen or just outside. Also, they've not cleaned their soda lines in months. First time I tried it almost a year ago and the diet Coke was a dirty mix of that and Dr pepper and recently it still tastes like that. And the air conditioning is subpar, if you like to sweat and eat this is your place. Also, they should put in some bar style seating by the windows to accommodate more people. read more

Very affordable for a family of 4. Service is always friendly and prompt. Small location but great food, grilled cheese was great, chicken fried steak is also great, breakfast food is always delicious and they have actual mash potatoes not instant mash potatoes. Went there with my dad. They don't seemed to have their act together very well. It looks very cozy from the outside but it's summer so we opted to dine inside. It was a bit tight in there with tables put all the way upto the kitchen (with a swing door that almost caused a train wreck behind me) We were told that there was no soup of the day as advertised and that they were out of onion rings (which sucked because the latter is what I wanted to try). After learning that the CF steak was frozen and prebreaded he opted to have the California chicken sandwich.I ordered a medium-rare ribeye. After a reasonable wait our meals were brought out and I got to look at the thin, undersized, gray price of meat they called a ribeye. After cutting it it didn't look like medium rare so I asked that they try again. They then told me that it would be 20 minutes for another ribeye or they could get me a t-bone. So after waiting for about 10 minutes my dad finished his sandwich (which he said was not that great) and I finally got my steak...again thin and gray. I'm willing to bet their steak are thawed out from frozen just like most of their menu seems to be. I decided that this was the best I could hope for and ate it. It had no seasoning that I could taste and it seems like their grill is in need of a cleaning and maybe someone who knows how to cook steak. We were sure to tip the waitress because with cooking like that they are probably going to have people short them on the tip for something they have no control over. My dad said he won't be back and I am unable to think of a reason I would go there again. Order a burger if you have to go there for lunch or dinner. Maybe they get those right. read more

The Country Scrambled Cafe was great. My wife and I both the chicken fajita omelette and it was amazing. The omelette would put IHOPs to shame. I also got a side of French toast and it was delicious. My daughter got pancakes and the we're awesome as well. We also had grilled potatoes o'man were they good. The price was also wonderful, my family of three were completely full for only 35.00 and that's including a tip. Fantastic little cafe in the heart of Splendora, Texas. Food looked great, service was quick for everyone but us. We were seated by a great personable waitress that really gave the place a good down home friendly country feel but then unfortunately we watched as three other couples that were seated in a ten minute period after us were seated, received drinks and their orders were taken. I finally had to get up and grab our menus and still no one came to the table. As the waiter and waitresses made their way around the cozy little establishment no one even made eye contact with our table or checked on us. A real down home country cafe is what this little town has needed for a long time and it looks like they have a lot of potential, just have to get a couple of things worked out.
